Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Room was adequate size with very comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom sink was impracticable, extra long with no place to put your toiletries. Might be ok for 1 night but was a pain for our 4 night stay. Had 3 decaf coffee pods but no caffeinated and no tea bags. Breakfast buffet sitting area had bad flow. Within about 8’-10’ wide entrance, had checkin, folks going to buffet, folks returning from buffet with food, folks leaving, staff standing around and one morning, the line for the elevator was backed to the entrance to the sitting area. People were bumping into each other trying to get in and out. If the far end of the dining area towards the buffet was opened up a bit, it would create much better flow. Would consider staying again based on location, staff, cleanliness and price(for downtown Toronto).

This is a new hotel less than a year old. European style layout. Nice full length windows for viewing of the city. Walkable to Roger Center, CN Tower and a very trendy restaurant Kost. The breakfast buffet is a great feature of the hotel. Fresh tasteful food with a wide selection. The staff have to be the most friendly I have witnessed in awhile and they do seem to know every guest and speak to you every morning at breakfast and greet you every evening on your return to the hotel. A nice personal touch.

Very friendly helpful staff Brendan arranged a taxi to the airport for us getting us through all the football traffic. All staff in the dining area and reception were extremely friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is continually being refilled with fresh items and such a great choice of breakfast items. Hotel is very clean throughout.

We stayed for 2 nights in a king room that was not large but well laid out and very nicely decorated with a comfy bed.
The staff at breakfast was excellent, friendly and organized. The buffet provided many options and we enjoyed it.
The location is perfect for those who don't mind walking less than a km to all of the attractions, theatre or sporting events. We found it very quiet with many food options nearby although there is a wonderful lobby cafe at the hotel.
A very enjoyable stay!

The property is in a good location within walking distance to various attractions eg The Eton Centre which is a big shopping mall with lovely shops and a huge food court. The staff were exceptional; friendly and always ready to help. It was clean throughout the hotel and the buffet breakfast was very good. The chef came out a couple of times to chat to us which was a nice touch. We couldn't have asked for a more pleasant stay. 10 out of 10.

Breakfast was very good, but it started at 7 am, which seems a little late compared to other hotels. The room cleanliness could be better. The floors were dirty and dusty in both of our rooms. The pillows were flat and small with no support. The blankets also were low quality. With this price range hotel, we were expecting better quality. The staff were all very nice, helpful, and friendly.

Staff were not helpful or welcoming.
The only staff at breakfast that was friendly was the cook all the others looked like they didn’t want to be there. The tall bellman was also helpful to us.
I only drink tea. So I travel with some and wanted to get some milk. The reception told me to ask at the bar. I did and he was going to charge me $ 5 for a small glass of milk to take to the room.

Also, we had left a note on one of our beds requesting the sheets be changed due to a spill. When we returned, the note was gone but the bed had been made with the dirty sheets still on the bed.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Most staff were great but the ladies serving coffee and drinks at the bar were not very friendly.
Also, tried to communicate with house keeper and she didn’t know a word of English. Not a big deal but she wasn’t able to help us as a result.

Beautiful hotel,great location and staff where attentative. What keeps me from giving a 5 star….. we wanted to get 2 wine glasses to enjoy very nice wine we bought in our room. We where told that it was not allowed. The next morning my husband and I walked to Starbucks and brought the coffee back to enjoy it with our breakfast at the hotel. Again the young ladies at the restaurant said it was not allowed to bring coffee from outside.
Don’t understand the reason but definitely we are guest at the hotel and they should be catering to their guests.

Location of hotel was perfect for access to CN tower, Rogers Centre, patio restaurants and coffee shops. Walking distance to Eatons Center Mall. We will for sure book there again when in Toronto. 😊

The hotel it's self is very nice. Staff were very friendly and check in was easy. We actually got our room early. On our second day the power flicked off about 3 times. It messed our safe up as when we were getting ready to go to a reservation we couldn't get phones/camera out. Ask for someone to come open it and they said someone would come right away. But after 10 minutes we had to leave. But upon arrival after our supper at CN Tower we asked again and this time they did come right away. The other thing we were in room 708 and we could hear the elevator bell ring all night. I would stay again but not a room near elevator . Great breakfast.

This was one of the better Breakfast servings ( in a non-all inclusive resort ) that we have recently encountered. Can't express our satisfaction enough. As well the servers were very pleasant and attended any need or question. Thank You.
The one slight negative was the price of a draft beer, $15.00 + somewhat over board. We purchased drinks elsewhere after that, if market competitive we would have used the small lounge a few more times, but over-all we will consider staying at this Riu location in the future.

The location is great, but the room was small, beds extremely soft (no support while laying down) and basically crowded the room. Pillows, desk and chair were the cheapest you can source. Bathroom was nice to look at, but not practical for actual usage (hint a massive sink basin with only the 2.5 inch back ledge that have the water control lever for a counter top is a poor design) Overall for a supposed 4 star hotel, at a true four to five star price, I was underwhelmed and glad to only have to spend two nights in their beds.

The bedroom doors close with an unpleasant noise. The sound system at the bedroom door is lacking. Lunchtime at 7:30 was too late for us, especially on our departure day, as we couldn't eat given our 7:15 AM departure from your hotel. As this was our first time at your hotel, we would have liked to know that there was parking in front. Overall, our stay was pleasant.

Booked a two-night stay several months in advance so we could catch a Jays game. The hotel wasn’t even open yet when I booked, which may explain the incredible rate I got (!)

Pros:
- Walkable to major sights (theatres, Rogers Centre, train station) and restaurants
- Amazing breakfast buffet
- Very comfy bed
- Room was clean and AC worked great
- Staff was friendly

Cons
I had some issues with the bathroom:
- The sliding glass door showed opaque images of the person inside, which bugged me. It was also loud to open and close and let too much light into the room, which was annoying in the middle of the night.
- It took a bit to figure out that the soap/shampoo/conditioner bottles mounted on the wall had to be squeezed to get the stuff out…not the most hygienic design

My husband thought the room was too small, but it seemed fine to me.

We didn’t use the gym, so can’t comment on that

Patrons should be aware that they have to use their phone to connect to tv stations. High-tech is great, but to me this was an unnecessary waste of time.
We stayed in an executive, uniquely shaped room with a very comfortable king-size bed, well done.
Breakfast is very good with lots of fresh choices.

Be ware of issues with Internet in the room - it didn't work in our room, they couldn't fix it and nothing was offered to make up for it.

Also, there is a lack of signage in regards to the stairs. We tried to take them to breakfast but due to security, each floor requires your key car which only works on your floor and floor 2 (breakfast); however, in the stairwell, floor 2 is for employee access only. I understand why it's down, but it should be clearly marked. We had to exit the hotel at the ground floor and walk around to go back in

Also, the fire escape plan on the back of the bedroom door glows in the dark... Again, this makes sense, but the should have something to separate that from the sleeping. For those of us who like sleeping in darkness, it is an inconvenience .

The hotel and staff were great. One thing I didn’t like that when I was checking in, the person beside me received a little gift bag, and I didn’t. I didn’t need or want it, but I thought it was in poor taste to give it to one customer in front of another one and not offer it to the other one.

The breakfast that was included with our room was amazing!

Our room was quite small, otherwise I would have given the hotel a 5 star rating.

I have never stayed in a place where the staff were so genuinely kind and helpful. They were all amazing. Great location, incredible breakfast, room was very clean and I loved the walk-in shower. The only downsides were there is no pool, no microwave in the room, and the room lacked shelves or counter space to put anything, especially in the bathroom.

We recently stayed at the Toronto Riu. Everything about this property is 5star. The staff were super attentive & friendly. The rooms are small but well appointed. The included buffet breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. Only a 5 minute walk to the Princess of Wales theatre, plus numerous dining options are nearby.

We recently reserved five rooms during our stay for an expo, and we were thoroughly impressed. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us throughout our two-night visit. The hotel's location was also ideal, just a short walk from the Convention Centre. We will certainly choose this hotel again for our next trip!

My wife & I were very pleased with our overnight stay at the Riu. We rated it at a 5 Star Plus. This is not our normal rating we indicate, how-ever, they definitely deserve it. From the minute we stepped out of the cab at the front door, every employee we delt with was courteous, professional and assisted us. This continued through checking in and being assisted up to our room where the staff member instructed us on the elevator security procedure and on activating the electrical controls within the unit.

One of the many features at the hotel is the 'included buffet breakfast' on the second floor. The staff there also follow through being very courteous and professional. No matter how busy your schedule is, definitely take the time to enjoy this breakfast. They have a wide selection of food.
