Clean floors, sheets, bathroom, towels. Higher-up ledges were super dusty, some corners had dust. Window didn’t stay open. Battery cover on ac remote didn’t hold. HVAC didn’t seem to respond to remote input, except for on/off. Door hardware was crooked and not tight. Tiny window is great, but didn’t stay open, had to prop it up with a rolled-up washing rag . These are normal maintenance items that are generally forgivable and can easily be lived with. Small attention to details like this would make a difference. Generally, I was comfortable and pleased with bed mattress quality, nicely appointed bathroom/shower.

When we arrived the bed was made but the sheets were obviously dirty. We sent photos of the stains and hair that were on the sheets to management and told them it smelled badly. Management said “no it’s clean”, “sometimes hair from the dryer sticks to the sheets”, and that there was a fee for “extra cleaning.”
Eventually, after much back and forth they agreed to send cleaning to our room the following day to replace our dirty sheets free of charge.
When we returned to the room the sheets had been changed and it was obvious that they had been dirty before because the new sheets were clean in smell and appearance.
Then, a day before we checked out, we received a message on Expedia from management that check out was at 11am and for every hour after 11am we would be charged an additional $10.
So, the morning of check out we decided to pay the extra $10 fee and leave at 12pm. Management messaged me saying the fee was $20 plus 13% tax for every hour after 11am. I sent them a screenshot of their own message they sent me with the $10 rate and they flat out told me their own words didn’t matter and referred me to their website where their rates are stated as subject to change without notice. I don’t care about the money it’s just ridiculous these people are in the hospitality business.
Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else than here.

Two weeks have passed since checkout and I am still waiting for the refund of my $250 damage deposit. Despite multiple attempts, there has been no response and no way to reach anyone to resolve the issue.
A refundable deposit should be returned promptly after checkout. This has not happened.

You are contacted over text message to send your ID and credit card details via text message (or e-transfer of cash deposit) which is not secure and you have no idea who on the other end will have access to this information.
E-transfers are permanent so that is a very risky way to ask customers to put a deposit down. It's not the same as putting a hold on a credit card - you must just hope that they e-transfer the money back to you after it has already been deposited and this opens up all kind of risk to the guest.
Nobody in the right mind would send their credit card information or government ID to a random unsecured Toronto number and it looks like this complaint has been made numerous times in the reviews with no updates made to reflect the misleading nature of the policies on this website.
I would have provided all this information if they were able to send me a link to an upload portal or something of that nature that you could submit sensitive information to.
It's not until you actually book this that it becomes clear there is no actual front desk.
I did not end up staying here for the reasons above and have not received a refund from the property.

The lighting could have been improved, it was a little harsh. Overall okay but not sure it was worth the price, although I had to book at the last minute so it is possible there are better deals to find.

The window we had was a skylight with no curtain and there was a big crack under the door, we could literally pass our fingers under.

The room was clean and quiet. I did not like the idea of having to e-transfer the security deposit prior to being able to access the property. It was a bit of an inconvenience to have to worry about that. I wasn't allowed to access the building until that, with my ID, had been sent. This was a perfect place to stay at while visiting Toronto. The location is absolutely perfect. The public transportation system is extremely convenient. A Tram stop is right in front of this hotel. I told all my family & friends that this was a great place to stay at. I visited during the winter & it was nice to always return to a place that was warm & cozy after a full day of exploring the city. it was an decent place to sleep and shower, but that’s about it. Good location, terrible smell in the entire building of fried food and other questionable aromas. Thin walls, but did not bother us. the smell was enough for us not to go back, but it is an ok option for a budget trip to the city. Don’t expect much more than a bed and shower, and good location.

Brought food back to watch the Raptors game but there was no tv signal so I called and was told someone would be over to help. An hour later still no one so I left a message. A rude woman called back, talked over me when I tried to explain and blamed the problem on my lack of tech knowledge. Turns out the rooms don't have tv just Netflix. Our room was clean and modern, but including the bathroom it was an 11x11 room, no temp control, no window, no smoke detector, nothing. The bathroom door ran into the toilet before you could open it, and you can hear your neighbors cough.
HOWEVER, it was clean and the location was perfect. We only ever slept in the room and spent the rest of the time out exploring. If you’re looking for a cheap and clean place to sleep, this is it. We are already planning our return.

The place was very small, no night table, one little chair and no windows to be opened. There wasn’t a kettle to make some tea or coffee. There weren’t glasses for water or to rinse one’s teeth. There wasn’t a shower mat. We were there on a weekend, and people were noisy and screaming even at three in the morning. The best thing about the place was the location and the staff who tried their best to make us comfortable.

The door had a lock that didn’t work! We were so scared to sleep in case someone opened the door. I took a video to show it doesn’t lock. I told the owner the lock wasn’t working and he tried it and saw it wasn’t working. The bed was supposed to be queen size but the headboard was queen and the mattress was double!

Had issues trying to find parking. Went around in circles, not their fault but you might want to plan it before you travel. They only provide basic accommodation. I Love how they have access for Netflix for their guests as an added bonus! It’s amazing to have, but the thin walls leave very less room for privacy. You can hear your neighbour talk or flush or shower. Again that might be an issue at most of the hotels with adjoined rooms. Also to add the housekeeping may enter your room if you don’t answer the door. Happened to me when I was in the washroom and the person didn’t lock the door behind them. Owner/operator was friendly and responded to text/call promptly. She even managed to accommodate my request to give me same room for two days at the last minute notice. I kinda felt bad to text her about needing clean towels later in the evening. Mind you, there’s no 24 hour front desk person, so you call the owner. It was late but she did her best to assist mezApart from the room to room privacy you won’t have to worry about strangers accessing the place. It has a secluded entrance, very private. Although multiple cameras. Check the distance on google maps before you book because it’s located right by Kensington market area, two streets from Dundas on Spadina. P.S. talk to the bike shop guy next door, he’s really nice and helpful, to add an eye candy for the single people. Rent a bike and explore downtown. Wish it were a little cheaper, I’d have stayed more days tbh.

When people were showering you could hear the water from the shower again, like it was actually in your room & their fan motor noise - particularly annoying when someone above me was showering at 04.00 am! When asked if I could leave my case for a few hours after check out (in some hotels this would be fine) I could have for $30-40 & it would have been left in the communal kitchen, so not exactly secure. I declined & instead i got it stored all day for $8 in a specialised facility.

The building was nice, in a good location and we travel to Torinto alot and initially thought this would be a place we would rebook. Unfortunately, the noise from the hallway and the office was so intrusive it sounded like they were in our room. You could hear every word of every check in, phone call and guest conversation. There was even a couple having a lengthy yelling match in the hall around 2 am. We explained this to the staff at the office when we checked out, but he didn't seem too concerned about it and we haven't heard from the hotel. Disappointing.
