I stayed for one night and almost left in the middle of the night. The room was 84 degrees. I tried to turn down the heating but could not. I closed the vents but it made no difference The windows opened onto a driveway full of garbage , old mattresses etc . I did not feel safe with it open. Did not get much sleep .The property is very tired. The toilet / sink and bed were clean. Other areas were not . Under the bed behind drawers very dirty. Doors, blinds etc.

This was a good place to stay for what we needed given that we were out of the room most of the day. It was located close to trains and subway stations to get downtown easily. I didn’t see it mentioned prior to booking but due to the location it is a louder area. The attached pub plays music Friday and Saturday until 2am and you will hear the students and pub goers until they leave for the night. Beyond the noise the place was clean and had what we needed for a 2 night stay. Friendly staff at check in and it was a smooth process.

Everything was clean and staff were friendly, however being on the top floor made the room VERY warm— 78-80 degrees, and the thermostat did not help. We slept with the window open to bring it down to about 70, however being right above the alley next to the pub was quite noisy all night.

I picked the location due to its easy accessibility to public transit (TTC) and the University of Toronto. I.e., I cannot comment about parking! I was in one of their suites which was extremely comfortable. The hotel is next door to a pub and on the same block as several fraternities and so there could be an issue with noise for some people. I sleep like a proverbial rock and so it did not bother me.

The room and the property were amazing. However, I think it shouldve been advertised that the hotel stands nxt to 2 frat houses and that the pub (a property next to the hotel) would be full of belligerent 19 yr olds pouring into the street, vomiting and breaking glass bottles into the middle of the night. Also the \"on the property parking\" was 100% occupied by the nightlife revelers and we had to park block away. That was a unwelcome inconvenience. It was a beautiful property but I will not be returning

Had a basement room (101) which we took because the original 103, also in the basement was dark, small and uninviting. Good spacious room and we slept well, regardless of the double knifing issue that occurred outside our room at the Madison Pub (frat drinking bar) 30 minutes after we went to our room. In the morning there were police everywhere and the whole hotel area cordoned off. We had to duck under them to exit building.

Staff were friendly and helpful, hotel residents were quiet and respectful. Room was pretty basic but that’s all we needed. We loved that this was next door to a pub where we relaxed and got to experience a local French language meetup. We also loved that everything was close and that Toronto is easily walkable. The bed was horribly uncomfortable though and that was our only complaint.

The only downsides were the lack of appliances such as a fridge to store water (or even a courtesy bottled one), as well as the bathroom not being throughly cleaned for our stay, I encountered multiple hairs in the shower upon my arrival, as well as the toilet paper being already half used. Aside from that it was a great stay and I would return!

I had a great night’s sleep. Good location near Uof T and Bloor Street. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was perfectly organized. I was safe and cozy. I found my room on the third floor a bit tiring to access. The first or second floors would have been ideal as there is no elevator. Apart from that it was fine for my one night stay.

This is a pleasant and somewhat quirky hotel. The building is an old stately manor tucked into one of the more pleasant urban neighborhoods in Toronto. Our Jr. Suite was spacious, and very comfortable. But if you're seeking amenities and five star service, look elsewhere. This is mainly a cozy affordable, character-rich place. Best part is that it's two doors down from one of the most iconic pubs in Toronto ... the Madison! We really enjoyed our stay.

The owners are well aware that a frat house is next door and advertise as a 4 star boutique hotel. The pub encourages wild parties and is the most popular college party bar- it’s not a nice pub at all. The “king” bed was two twins shoves together in terrible condition. You are given two rags as “towels”. Good luck getting a hold of the front desk.
I spoke with the rep for the weekend who was the manager of the pub. She said usually they call the police when the frat house is too loud but she can’t go over there because her hands were tied.
The room was old, dirty, disgusting carpet. Absolutely false advertising. I paid in advance so it was a bait and switch.

The Madison is an old house, converted. Our room was not ready when we arrived. We were offered a free drink at the bar upstairs. We ordered a drink and Nachos, which ended up being complimentary due to the delay.
The room was what we had expected, simple. We would stay there again as very convenient. Thank goodness it was a Wednesday evening so the bar was quiet. Otherwise I believe it would be quite noisy on a weekend as a University bar.

My Room was a little tight, but ill chalk that up to being standard at the time it was built, there are larger rooms.The pub attached to it is classic too. Awesome place to eat and grab a drink. Its very popular at night with the local college kids. But it was not a problem at all.
