Stinky dirty place

The place is really dirty, everything is out of date and stings like cigarette, no fire alarms, no smoke detectors, walls dirty, curtains ripped, air conditioning doesn’t work on the room I stay. You get what you pay, a cheap dirty place

No frills lodging for a good price.

Traveled all over South America and this hotel was typical of most others in this price range. It had a nice lobby and the room was a good size. The shower had good water pressure and hot water. The walls were rather beat up but that is typical for this price range. The breakfast was a little better than some because it served cheese and lunch meat in addition to the typical high carb fare. The facility description said it had laundry service, but it in fact does not. They also do not offer affordable shuttle service to and from the airport. It cost 45 dollars to get to the airport with their Recommended taxi service.

Bad hotel in bad neighbourhood

At reception we were informed that the reservation I made when confirming the bed arrangement as suggested by Expedia by phone on October 24 did not exist, we had a room for only one night. The hotel room was tiny, wall to wall with two single beds and a cot each equipped with a very thin pillow. There was only a drizzle of water and no hot water making a shower undesirable. A water leak beside the toilet was not welcome and the internet was barely usable

Very basic hotel. No frills. Things broke regularly (the air conditioner, the shower, the window blinds), but the hotel staff were always very quick to repair things. In short, you get what you pay for. But I'd happily stay there again.

Bad hotel - stay away

We had problem with the hot/cold water in the shower - it was impossible to take a shower.
The rooms are very small and very dirty.
I once needed an extra towel - the guy at the reception desk was very nasty and was very reluctant to help.
One block up the street there is a much better place for the same price...
I highly recommend not to stay at this hotel!

Hotel at edge of Montevideo

This is one of the inexpensive hotels in the downtown area of Montevideo, with the difference that it is one the outskirts of the downtown area not far from the Rambla, which can be used to get out of town.
Like most of these hotels, the accommodations are a little old and worn. However, the rooms are not as cramped as in some hotels, and they are clean and bright. The staff, both at the front desk and those cleaning the rooms are friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel in Montevideo, this would be high on my list.

Book the Orpheo instead!!!

You get what you pay for. This hotel looks fine from the outside, but the room was terrible: bathroom filthy, smelled of urine, toilet had not been cleaned, plaster falling off the walls, a few stains on the bedspread and icky, pilled polyester sheets, outlet didn't work at the desk, so awkward to charge laptop in bathroom. Noisy patrons in hallway. Only redeeming factor was reliable internet connection. If you are needing the convenience of the neighborhood (right next to Teatro Sodre), you might consider Orpheo Express, just a block closer to 18 of Julio (main drag), well worth the extra few pesos for cleanliness, service and convenience. Stay away from this dump!

Do not stay at this depressy, dingy, dirty hotel!!

Don't stay here! This is a depressing and dingy hotel with a mouldy bathroom and a very uncomfortable bed. Our tv barely got any channels, we did not want to use the shower and could not wait to get out of here. Location was ok it not great, and was very noisy. I'm sure there are nicer places for similar price in Montevideo. Trust me you want to avoid this one

Decent place to stay but lacking in a few areas.

Staff very friendly. Room was acceptable. However we noticed the towels we left were occasionally not replaced by fresh ones. Also there was a significant mold problem on the ceiling of the bathroom which grew over the three days we were there indicating a water leak in the room above. The room was OK but showed that maintenance could have been a bit better on small things. Certainly worth the price and we would stay there again, but not for a longer time.

Nice simple hotel in great part of the city!

Enjoyed this hotel, may not be your top notch hotel with a pool or gym, just has rooms and a dinning room for breakfast. No bar no room service, just a simple room that was comfortable and enjoyable. Got a great price on expedia so I booked it for another week. Most of the staff were very helpful and nice. Had a nice view from the fifth floor, and it was down the street from the plaza indapendacia, which is a by a lot of restaurants and shopping. It's great for backpackers who want the comfort of their own room and bathroom for a cheap price.

The hotel is clean and rooms are small but expected for the price. Everything was clean. The service is not good. Most of the front desk persons spoke English. We booked through hotels.com. They originally said that there were no rooms available. The hotels.com website was less than half of the walk in standing rate.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and it was really quite nice. I liked the location, pretty easy to catch a bus nearby to go where you need to, or just walk. It was clean with a nice modern design to it. The lobby was comfortable and the free breakfast was really nice. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Good location

We stayed three nights at the hotel. It is only 5 minutes walk from Plaza Independencia, restaurants and bars. The hotel staff were friendly, the room was clean and the breakfast was great. We did get a discount through a booking agency so we thought the price was a bargain for the city centre location.

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel: very good condition, very clean, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was simple and very good too. The only thing I didn't like about my room was that the bathroom was so small!
But that was just a minor details if compared to its most important feature: GREAT Location!
From there we were able to walk around and explore the city centre and historical sites, and had access to some great restaurants nearby. we could even walk to beaches and the port nearby.
I do believe we made a great choice and I would certainly stay at this hotel again should I visit Montevideo another time soon, which I hope that will happen.

Shower was a cubicle - you can hardly move inside...it's about 0.5x0.5m.
Breakfast with few items, but ok.
If you are looking for good location and price for a fair deal, it's ok.

Hotel seems to be new and everything is spot clean. Tiny and very noisy rooms however for the price quality it is a great place to stay - very comfortable rooms, nice tv - in room safe - Wifi. and just minutes walking distance away from all the main attraction. The beautiful Plaza de la independencia is only a 3 minute walk away.

Hotel was an older hotel. Clean but rooms were very spartan. The hotel did the job but was not an amazing experience. The staff was very helpful. Not a bad location but not the greatest either. If you are trying to keep the price down and are looking for clean but not over priced, this might be it.

Great location and hospitality

The hotel is located near to the main touristic attractions in Montevideo, Uruguay as well as the main avenues where you can easily take a taxi or public transportation. Wifi speed is good. Double rooms have very tiny beds though and needs soundproof windows. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful!

This hotel is a gem. For $84 we had a quiet, clean room with modern bathroom. The full breakfast was included. The internet service was free. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the old part of the city which makes walking very interesting. The restaurant they recommended was excellent. They stored our bags after we checked out for several hours until we had to catch our plane. Highly recommended.

La verdad, de terror. La habitación estaba sucia, el baño con el jabón del huésped anterior, las camas torcidas por no dar vuelta los colchones, telas de araña por todos los rincones. Los enchufes en los pies de la cama y el de la lampara estaba en corto,LAS FOTOS QUE MUESTRAN NO TIENEN NADA QUE VER CON LO QUE TE ENCONTRAS CUANDO LLEGAS... Para variar \"la encargada\" JIMENA, una mal educada, llame al hotel 11 veces y con la excusa de que \"estaba lleno\", nunca atendio, cuando llegamos, estaba vacio, nos trato muy mal, nos trato como el traste y ni siquiera te dejaba terminar de hablar, mucho menos te miraba a la cara y con esa actitud despectiva, UNA DESUBICADA TOTAL, NO DEBERIA TRABAJAR MAS AHI. Por suerte se fue y LORENA Y AGUSTIN, NOS TRATARON RE BIEN, ES LO UNICO DESTACADO DEL HOTEL. SUPER ATENTOS Y MUY EDUCADOS. NOS AYUDARON EN TODO LO QUE PUDIERON Y SON SUPER SIMPATICOS.

Péssima. Os quartos muito sujos. A roupa de cama era suja. Os quartos cheiravam muito mal. Fomos realocados de quarto e mesmo assim não resolveu. Ficamos apenas uma noite hospedados e fizemos check out antecipado, porque não aguentamos permanecer. A experiência foi horrível.

O hotel está bem localizado, mas é um dos piores que já estive hospedado. Muito sujo, paredes e cortinas mofadas, travesseiros com marcas de baba e mal cheiro, como podem observar na imagem anexada. O ar condicionado possivelmente nunca foi limpo pelo estado do filtro. Corredores escuros e falta de segurança. Nossos amigos sem querer erraram o quarto e entraram no nosso com a chave deles. Os cofres não funcionam e o box do banheiro é minúsculo. O café da manhã é simples, mas estava saboroso.

Hotel não possui um isolamento acústico nenhum, iriamos ficar 4 noites, porém conseguimos ficar apenas duas noites devido a noite mal dormida (Rua barulhenta e Hospedes barulhentos ), quarto com cheiro forte de cigarro onde solicitei a troca para outro. Itens de cama muito velhos e desgastados. Traças no chão. Café da manhã muito fraco.

Hay hoteles más modestos, pero este es calamitoso!

Apenas entramos a la habitación había un denso olor a cigarro. La habitación hiper pequeña, cama vieja y paredes con humedad y descascarándose. El baño de no más de 60 centímetros cuadrados ya que no podías darte vuelta sin golpearte con las llaves de agua. no menciono otras cosas más para no seguir amargándome la vida. No vuelvo ni lo recomiendo a nadie.

Localização perto do centro histórico, porém, lugar muito sujo e abandonado a noite.
A entrada do hotel até que parece bonita, mas os quartos são horríveis.
O quarto que fiquei tinha sido recém pintado, ainda estava com cheiro de tinta e por sinal havia sido muito mal pintado. Saia poeira do ar condicionado. Faltava roupa de banho. Acordei de manhã cheia de picada de bichos, provavelmente estavam na roupa de cama.
Quarto muito ruim mesmo, jamais voltaria.

Todo bien, parece mas lindo por fuera de lo que son las habitaciones. El baño personalmente no me gusto, muy chico y la ducha mas aun, incomoda y se mojo todo el baño al ducharme. Deberian sustituir el microfono de baño porque se cae y sale para cualquier lado el agua por una roseta fija. El resto bien.
Muy bien ubicado en el centro de Montevideo.

Bom custo benefício!

O hotel fica bem localizado próximo aos principais pontos turísticos . Atendimento e limpeza ótimos. Café da manhã simples mas satisfatório dentro do padrão de preço da estadia. A única coisa que precisa melhorar do hotel é o chuveiro que a água é muito fraca e o espaço para o banho que é muito apertado. Fora isso o hotel é recomendável!

muito satisfeito. relação custo-benefício muito boa. hotel econômico, bem localizado, bom café-da-manhã, bom quarto, limpo. Única observação negativa é que não tem estacionamento. Não tive nenhum problema em 4 dias de estadia em estacionar na porta do hotel, pois os estacionamentos são relativamente caros.

Os quartos são normais. Tv e internet funcionam bem e a cama é razoável, porém o chuveiro é minúsculo. O café da manhã é simples, porém gostoso. O ponto forte do hotel sem dúvida é a localização ! muito boa e próximo a várias atrações de Montevideo, todas acessíveis à pé, com várias opções de restaurantes próximos também.

O hotel compensa apenas se você vai ficar poucos dias, quer pagar pouco. O quarto é pequeno. As paredes tem aparência de sujas. A cortina deu defeito no primeiro dia. Os móveis são velhos. Quando chegamos ao hotel às 00:30 não foi informado o número da recepção e nem o horário do café da manhã e local. Tive que descer na recepção para perguntar. O banheiro não era agradável também. O box apertado tem uma cortina que fica colando. Não dá para lavar o pé sem encostar na cortina de tão apertado. O bom é que está bem localizado.

O hotel de maneira geral é bom, a localização é ótima o preço adequado pra época da viajem mesmo considerando as condições do banheiro com box apertado e difícil ajuste da temperatura da água, e mesmo depois da limpeza o banheiro ficou com mau cheiro.Basta a direção do hotel fornecer um desinfetante para facínora.

Reservei um quarto triplo e quando fiz o check in tivemos que ficar em quartos separados pois não havia preparado um quarto triplo. O quarto foi preparado apenas na manhã seguinte.

Funcionários super atenciosos e prestativos. Wi fi, TV e ar condicionado muito bons. Estacionamento na frente do hotel, guarda de bagagem, bom cofre. Box muito pequeno, temperatura da água do chuveiro oscila. Luz do corredor no sexto andar não funcionava. Cortina não recolhia. Café repetitivo, poucas mesas, às vezes era necessário esperar desocuparem para se sentar. Pão às vezes duro, vi mofo em uma fatia, pouca louça, às vezes era necessário pedir para lavar mais. Encontrei fio dental no chão do banheiro.
Localização ótima, perto da avenida dezoito de julho, cassino, praça da independência, cidade velha, mercado, quitanda. Ótimo custo benefício. Funcionários flexíveis. Gostamos mesmo com as ressalvas.

Bom custo/benefício. Próximo o centro e aos principais ptos turistico de Montevideo. Atendentes atenciosos e cordiais. Quartos limpos e cafe da manha simples, mas atendeu as expectativas. Próximo ao Terminal Baltasar Brum (Rua Rio Branco) de onde saem onibus ao Aeroporto.

Excelente atención.

La atención es excelente.
La ubicación del hotel es muy buena, esta en pleno centro de la ciudad a 3 calles de la avenida principal de Montevideo.
Con respecto a las instalaciones le hace falta mantenimiento.

O HOTEL TEM ÓTIMA LOCALIZAÇÃO! É SIMPLES, MAS CONFORTÁVEL. POR NÃO TER LUXO, EMBORA OS FUNCIONÁRIOS SEJAM SOLÍCITOS, NÃO TEM NINGUÉM DE PAPARICANDO, NEM ESPERANDO GORJETA, O QUE ME DEIXOU BEM A VONTADE. BOA RELAÇÃO CUSTO/BENEFÍCIO. RECOMENDO PARA QUEM NÃO QUER LUXO, MAS QUER DORMIR CONFORTAVELMENTE.

Chuveiro com água fria no inverno

A localização é boa e o café da manhã Bom para o valor da diária. O quarto é grande porém mal conservado e um pouco sujo. O pior foi o chuveiro que não funcionava, era impossível regular a temperatura, ficava gelada ou escaldante! No inverno isso é inaceitável.
