If you want to save money in a hotel room

The place is close to the marina and restaurants , that’s the biggest plus , besides they do clean the room each day . But the door wouldn’t close right , doesn’t have a safe and anybody could have broke into our rooms . The lies on the outside of the building feel like they are lifting up from the ground . Be careful ! The shower leaked for four days in a row, thankfully it was fixed by the fifth day when they noticed the towels on the floor . There is no hair dryer , shampoo or conditioner, just body gel and a small fridge that worked well. There is also no coffee pot or any place that make it but you can buy it in a place to the left that make espresso coffee . The drawers were not functional, we kept them closed by using a big water bottle to push them in , there isn’t also a place to hung clothes just some bars across the room where you can hung your hats . The swimming pool was crowded by furniture without pillows or towels , you couldn’t walk around but the water looked clean . The WiFi is worthless unless you go to their little office and use their private WiFi . The employees are all very nice people , and right next to this place there is another hotel called the Siesta Suites Boutique Hotel which is home to a great Italian restaurant called Salvatore’s and the Terrace Bar . You should visit it ! Excellent views, strong margaritas , great bartender , and horrible attitude from the manager ( curly, long hair he is specially rude with customers )

This property was disgusting. Mold everywhere. Ceiling tiles missing. Random overflow pipe on the bathroom floor. The ceiling leaked onto our bed. I don't think Expedia should host this hotel as an option. Thoroughly disappointed that it looked ok in pictures and was gross upon arriving.

The property was at one time very nice, unfortunately it has gotten run down. Our outside door had a one inch gap at the top and hung crooked. My husband showed the handy man how to fix the latch, they had the slider but nothing for it to slide in so the door opened when it was locked. The breakfast they advertise doesn’t happen. Most days there was no hot water, the on demand system wasn’t working properly, they fixed it and we had water for two days, then it went out again. We did our own housekeeping asking for things as we needed them.On the good side there were lots of patio space on the different levels. The location was good and we felt safe, staff was friendly but a real language difference so even telling them my wifi didn’t work, or my tv won’t work was hard to explain. Finally just read a book. For us we decided I guess you get what you pay for, but not what was advertised. Sadly I would not want to see the place close because the staff are very nice but it needs upgraded electrical, tv, and internet.

This is not a 3 star hotel but not even 1 star.

First time I went there and they had to check 3 different rooms to find out the AC is working.
I went to La Paz for few days and back for a day and they were more interested in cancelling the reservation rather than show me the room before check in.
Roof top patio which I bragged earlier was more filthy and no one goes up there and clean.
Pictures on the web are very deceiving. Do not fall for them. As I did and regretted.

the pool and interactive area is nice but it is super noisy at night and is lack of stuff - no basic hygiene supplies, no bed covers (I was freezing cold). the WiFi connection is also terrible in the room I stayed. I only stayed there for a place to sleep so it was okay but I did not sleep well because of the noise. the staff is nice tho.

I did the reservation for 2 beds and I only got one, they don't change the towels and the mattress had stains on it ,the TV only work for 1 day and the other 3 days did not work, the only good thing about this hotel is that is very close to everything there are restaurant near and you can walk to the Marina.

I book a room for 2 people. I got to the place and it looks completely different than the pictures on Expedia. TV didn't work, the bathroom was really small and we were not able to take a shower because the shower was damage and it barely had water. Shower head was really old and there was no water pressure only little drops that werent enough to complete our shower. The room looks old. It looks like a hostal not a hotel.

There was no hot water, no refridgerator, and air conditioning was either on or off. Had to sleep with quilts in the summer it was so cold. Management said they would fix everything... nothing done before we left. I have 3 rooms booked for October.... but not sure now. LOOKING.

When we arrived, the clerk was talking on the phone, and didn’t look up to welcome us or say just a minute… after waiting for awhile, we left and went for a walk, and when we got back, she was done with her call and she showed us to our room.
Middle of the night, sounded like at least four drunk guests laughing and talking very very loud for awhile.
The place is also in disrepair

The first two days were terrible. We loved in a closet with no windows, after 40 minutes of running water no warm water and no internet. Had to ask for clean towels.
After two nights asked for different room—so much better. Even had internet . Still had to ask for clean towels.

Centrally located downtown - we suffered 2 nights because we couldn’t figure out the AC, then it was ice cold. Great price as long as you understand what you are going to get. It’s not a family hotel, but it’s the only one me & the guys will stay at! Little black mold won’t hurt if it’s just a short stay.

Location of hotel is very good, close to everything. Condition of the room where we stay need improvement toilet need repair ,the batroom cealing need to be fix. wall need paint, they need to add a closet, and the table that they have is very old, also the courtains need to be change and the entrance door of the room need to get fix and the water of the pool was dirty too, there is no restaurant on the hotel ,customer service is very good, they try to do everything to have me move to a new room also they offer me a refund ,but since I had other activities and they were full it was imposible.

The worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in.
Electricity AND water wasn’t working, there was no one at the front desk as they all go home at 8PM.. cockroaches running on the floor AND on the bed. We simply could not stay there so we left. Hotel still hasn’t offered us a refund. Absolute shambles.

We are not snobby people at all and have stayed in some poor places before, but this was just absolutely abysmal. We have been well and truly ‘catfished’.

If you don’t believe me, I have video evidence of our stay including the cockroaches on our bed.

The worst hotel in Cabo San Lucas.

The door had a huge gap in the bottom and ants, cocroaches came in. The clothes closet was tilting over, not secure enough to put your clothes inside it. We asked the cleaning personnel to change the linen, it wasn't changed, the just made the bed to make it look like it was changed. Said we had a balcony- but nope, our room didn't.

The pictures on Google and this website are old and misleading. This hotel had its height and heyday. The pictures look current but trust me they are not. The place is a dumping ground for old equipment that doesnt work. It isnt safe for kids, the pool goes days without cleaning , the water was so murky that I didnt swim in it, I decided to deal with the heat and lay by the pool in the shade and take pictures. They dont tell you that people LIVE in the hotel, over the portion thats above the driveway portion. That side is complete trash, unsafe walkways, discarded equipment, just a total hazard. It this place were PROPERLY invested into, and fixed up, it could be a true money making gem, but the owners are squeezing the juice out of a turnip. There is a shady little \"restaurant\" that over charges the foreigners for stale unauthentic Mexican food and watered down coffee. The only draw is the pool, and that was filthy. Stay next door at Siesta Suites. The owners are absolute sweethearts, the rooms are clean and cutely Mexican themed, they have a beautiful roof top penthouse with an amazing view and am awesome second floor bar with an awesome night ambiance, great lights and atmosphere, great drinks and people. There is a delicious Italian restaurant right next door, practically sharing the space, called Salvatore G's great food. AVOID DOS MARES AT ALL COST

For a sub $30 stay; it’s adequate. Room was clean and somewhat spacious. The bathroom was a little tight but okay for one person to do their thing.
The room could use some attention to detail.
Maybe hire a decorator or design team.
The room and hotel lack a theme.
The entire hotel looks like they just did a once over with new paint and furniture. But the rooms still need attention.
You have to ask for clean towels.
The TV doesn’t work.
The AC is freezing. Which was awesome! BUT i’m pretty sure we are conditioning was leaking directly on top of a wall socket. Just bound to go bad at some point.
Overall I can’t really complain. The hotel is central to everything. And walking distance from plenty of great restaurants. Even the hotel next-door has a nice Italian restaurant and upstairs bar that you can visit.
End rant.

Yes this hotel it’s convenient in downtown and its cheap, I had the worst experience first night and second night was okay besides the smell and the ac noise.My third night was the worst the ac started malfunctioning at 4 am and had to stay the night without it.In the morning we told the receptionist about it and after a hour since the ac couldn’t be fixed they moved out to a different room which was nice from them.Later that day when we were in the new room the light was on and off every 10 min, we didn’t complain anymore,at least the ac was working.We left next morning and when we came back around 9 pm the receptionist from the night told us we had to move to move back to our original room since the ac was working again. We had to move one more time ans I even asked her are u sure the ac the works? She then said yes the tried it already we move back to our original room stood the night.The ac was making noise and throwing ice early morning,and stopped working once again.We then went to the receptionist one last time and again moved us to a different room after 3 hours,I was glad that was our last night there.Definitely wouldn’t recommend it , and not coming back to this hotel at all.

Fine for the night

We needed one night in a hotel before we were checking into a resort nearby. Dos Mares was no frills but we got by for a night. The power flickers on and off and communication was difficult, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Fine for a night, but would probably stay elsewhere if I was looking to stay for a week at a local hotel.

Hotel Dos Mares is everything that it claims to be. It is inexpensive and centrally located. For the price, I could not have been more pleasantly surprised. Staff went above and beyond allowing me to keep my moto in the lot an hour after check-out and helping me find water at night when OXXO was closed. Great service, comfortable stay, would happily return.

The images of the property that you find on expedia are totally different from reality!
The rooms are small and uncomfortable, they are not clean, the entrance table had hair and fluids on the entire surface, the bathroom was dilapidated with the door that did not enter the jamb
I closed the front door and the handle remained in my hand!!
I send immediately text message to management for the situation, but didn't text me or call me back, so we decide to contact Expedia for ask the refund and we moved in another place in Cabo.

We often stay in less expensive hotels and don’t have a problem. However when we showed up here the pool was broken, and had been for a while, the furniture was dirty, in need of repair and the court yard was filthy. Went to bed that night pulled covers hair everywhere. They changed the bedding right away but the bathroom was dirty and the shower curtain was hlaf off it’s broken clips. We got a refund the next day and moved to another hotel for $15 more a night and it was wonderful.

The only good thing about this hotel is the price, the cheapest in Cabo and location close to the Marina. Other than that, nothing else was good.
They advertised free breakfast and free internet and there was no breakfast at all, not even paid and no internet, it was not working.

They show a picture of the hotel but gave us a room on a different building, old and torn down. Everything was in bad shape except AC and the TV. Bed was smelling of sweat, no hot water for shower, everything was wear out, overused and old. The pool is a small dirty pond, unusable.They where drying towels under the sun on back of the chairs in front of the rooms....
We would definitively never going back.

Dos was the best accommodation in reference to value. My husband and I could not have chosen a better hotel in the middle of downtown close to everything the hotel was super clean and everyone who was working there extremely nice. Next time that we return a combo we will definitely be staying here again. Juan is excellent.

Pro: Price, Close Location to Pier, AC, Lax Check in hours, Walkable distance from the Public Bus Stop that goes to and from airport for 80 Mexican pesos as of jan 2018 instead of the insane $80 USD other methods can cost in not higher. walking distance from nightlife section (next to pier). Mini Fridge in the room was nice for keeping Gatorade and other drinks cold. They do have wifi would highly recommend VPN use for those concerned with cyber security.

Cons: The door and connected wall is glass so should someone want to they could break in easily, the bathroom had a worthless shower head that was gunked up or something as water fell down the bottom and occasionally shot out a random head hole over the curtain getting the floor wet or in your face. The Toilet was to close to the sink area and forced me to rest my arm on the countertop, the bed \"frame\" was stone/concrete along the base and up to where your head would rest. The AC is controlled by a remote that you have to ask for as they \"forget\" to give you it at check in.

Other: The walk from hotel to pier takes less then 10 minutes but there are multiple artisanal shops.

Front desk people were despotic always on their personal Cel phones and first night toilet not working had to use the pool bathroom and so on towels w stains like blood or excrement I got pictures

Place to sleep

Was gone on tours most of the time. Fridge was nice and cold. Very old old hotel, staff was pleasant.

Good location but run down

Locatated close to downtown and the staff is nice. Parking is tight for 5 vehicles. Bathrooms could use work in shower area and toilet. Since the rooms very, very small, you need to live out of your suitcases.
Last but not least are the hard beds. There are no box springs (replaced with concrete).
Oh yes, we paid for a room for three people but only received two free breakfasts per day (Charged about $5.70 per day extra).
