Need an upgrade and dedicated non smoking floor

Staff generally cold but that could be a cultural thing. Room was generally well clean except for an area near the entrance that is perpetually sticky. Breakfast was good for me.

Room is old and there are quite a few brown water stains on the floor tiles. Very difficult to get a stable temperature when showering.

Room is always stuffy as cold aircon function seems to be off. Was not able to get a good night’s rest, actually many nights.

For some reasons. For a non smoking hotel, I keep detecting cigarette smoke in my room. Suspect neighbours smoking but I think the hotel do not enforce the no smoking rules. After all, it is a nation of smokers.

It is not so convenient to take public transport by MRT. Asked a taxi driver at the entrance to fetch me to sight seeing location but he asked for a fixed price instead of meter reading.
The breakfast is good as a lot of choices. Dinner was also reasonable priced.

There was no air conditioning for 3 nights we were staying there from 13 to 16 Oct 2018. Initially, we were told that there is air conditioning system maintenance for the first day when we checked in. However, the air conditioning was not available for the entire period. We were very disappointed with the hotel with an established brand like Holiday Inn.

Nice hotel for business with bad service.

Everything was great, really, exept for check, and after the first nice. All in the same place: the reception: which is a bummer since it’s the first thing you encounter.. when we arrived we said we booked the room for 2 nights, showed them our reservation and they, in return showed us we have only 1 night but promised it will be solved. They refused to contact hotels.com for further info, and they insisted they only have 1 night but since we showed them our reservation they said it was ok. This took 45 minutes. The evening, sure enough, the room was locked and they said that we only booked the room for 1 night, even though the reservation was for 2 night! We had to contact hotels.com, as they refused to do so (such as customer service...) and again, 45 minutes later it was ok. Not until we raised Orr voices, had a representative from hotel.com in the line and confirm, did we not solve this issue. Very upsetting.

A/C was shutdown in the middle of two consecutive nights (probably to save some money!!). When asked around, this seems to be a common practice for Holiday inn branches in Shanghai. Avoid the hotel.

Hotel was ok, plenty of English speakers.

Bar and Restaurant were always empty, but there was an excellent buffet type breakfast every morning, Chinese and European food. Staff were very good and helpful and all spoke pretty good English. Location was pretty good in Pudong , about a 10 min walk to subway that can take you to the Bund and the skyscrapers.

Conveniently located close to a Metro station

Always like to stay at this hotel when on business in China. It never disappoints.

Concierge service was good and helpful. But the reception service was very poor. The reception staffs do not cater to the customers first but instead focusing on their own work and let the customers wait. The same attitude when I do the checkout.
No one answers to your call, be it room service, or reception after 11pm
Breakfast was OK but not happy to have the same kind of food everyday for 4 days. (Only 1-2 dishes changed on the 1st and 2nd day). Same food from 2nd day till 4th Day.

Terrible service.
After I complained, manager promised to deliver a fruit basket which I never get.
There is coffee stains on my carpet, god knows where else they didn't clean.

OK hotel, but location not convenient to anything

I stayed two days for business at the Shanghai New Expo Center. The hotel was listed as one of the show hotels, so I was surprised that there was no shuttle bus or other arrangements to get to the Expo. Taxis are really cheap in Shanghai, but having to take a taxi anywhere you want to go doesn't qualify as \"convenient\" in my book. The metro is within walking distance, but not close enough to lug a suitcase or example. Nearest convenience store or restaurant is also 8-10 minutes away, so not all all convenient. Pillows were great, but beds hard. Wifi worked well, fitness center was good.

Terrible service from the minute the 3 of us arrived. We booked king beds and the hotel only had twin single rooms and said bad luck. The beds are too hard and Ive sleep on plenty of hard china beds. But finally i paid extra for a club room and they said i didn't even though my booking said so and I paid extra for i guess nothing. They just blamed Hotels.com and said its their fault but on the last night they said i could use it. total rubbish.

Fantastic!! It was perfect for our needs, super close to Subway stations and the Shanghai Children's Medical Center. Customer Service was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. They even had a really nice crib for my daughter which caused her to sleep soundly! Thank you!

Fantastic! Had to take our baby to the Children's Medical Center and it was super convenient to the Medical Center and Subway Station. Clean room, friendly service, very professional and the price was right. Will be staying here again if we need to return to the Medical Center! :)

The hotel is a good value. It is not the Ritz but ok. Good location if you take the Meglev or attend the International Pudong Expo center. If you do take the Meglev, cab drivers will often try to rip you off because the ride from the Meglev to the hotel is short. One cab driver tried to charge me 250 RMB and the cost should only be 30 RMB. If this happens do not pay the cab driver and report him to the hotel or police.

Overall a great hotel for the price. I selected the breakfast option and was very happy I did as they provided a large assortment of western options. Although the hotel was a little out of the way located in new Pudong, it was within walking distance of the subway and Science and Tech Building/AP underground Market.

Shining bright in Shanghai

The hotel is a shining star in the city!
Within 3 blocks of the Metro, midway between Hongxiao and Pudong airports - with Metro stations at each.
The rooms are clean and comfortable - with both of us working in hotels, we are a little more critical than others.
A great deal through Hotels.com got us the room for 1/3 the normal rate, and well worth every Yuan!!

Hotel is in great condition but having stayed in other 4 star hotels this 4 star property (as per hotels.com) was small.
Breakfast was very good - I am a vegetarian so they made hash browns for me very day.
Internet was very slow- need serious upgrade.

Overall not bad experience but at this price point and location I shouldn't complain.

Overall, a 3-star experience in Pudong

This Holiday Inn is more of a 3-star resort, not the 4-star that is indicated on their website. The room was smaller than I expected, but it was comfortable. The linens were of high quality and the bathroom was modern. The two problems we had with the room was that the carpet was slightly dirty and stained and the room was very hot. We had the thermostat set on the lowest setting, but there was no cool air coming in. I am wondering if they're keeping up with the maintenance on this hotel. The other thing we had trouble with was the location. It was not really close to anything a Westerner would be that interested in. You have to take a taxi cab ride to Century park and downtown. There's nothing that interesting within walking distance. Watch out for corrupt taxi drivers. They prey on unsuspecting hotel guests who are unaware of the rates. We were charged double for a trip to Century Park that's only 1.5 miles away. I will say that the food served by the hotel restaurants was good.

The rooms are reasonably sized and furnished. However, the F&B outlets (both all-day dining and Chinese restaurant) have subpar service and the quality of the food also leaves much to be desired. Our used plates were piled high before any staff would even take notice.

NICE & COMFORTABLE STAY

Right from choosing the property at hotels.com, to our stay at this hotel, everything went quite smoothly. Would highly recommend this property, specially for person visting the Shanghai International Expo Centre. The checkin , check out was pretty fast & the entire stay experience was good.The hotel is very well maintained & managed. Staff can converse in English, which is the biggest challenge in China. Good value for money hotel.

Hotel Ok - lacking location

Although the hotel was great, it was way too far from downtown Shanghai. I think this hotel would be ideal if you were there on business. We were there as tourists and it took quite a while by taxi (very reasonably priced) to get to the main Shanghai area where the shopping and restaurants were. In fact there was only one or two restauants near by, including the hotel.

While on the outside looks like a standard Holiday Inn, inside is mostly a regular 3 star Chinese hotel with some english speaking employees.

Service is ok, specially at the executive 17th floor, but below, this level, the \"Non smoking\" room I was requesting it was quite smokig / smelly.

What a beautiful, luxurious, hotel! We were only able to stay one night but I was so relieved to have a clean, safe, extremely comfortable room. The shower was heavenly. I speak no Chinese but the staff had very good English and took care of us like we were royalty! I would definitely stay at this hotel if I ever get back to Shanghai.

Good budget hotel in Pudong

Holiday Inn Pudong Nanpu turned out to be a good choice for staying close to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (I would not recommend this hotel for a holiday in Shanghai - Century Avenue in Pudong, The Bund and Nanjing Road in Puxi are the places to be if you are on a holiday). Hotel was in a quite residential neighborhood and had good connectivity to other parts of the town by taxi. Hotel condition was good, room was comfortable (though the air-conditioner was a bit sluggish for our room), staff was helpful (and could communicate basic stuff in English), food was satisfactory, tariff was reasonable. Overall - a good 4 star business hotel!

I stayed at this property for a week while doing business in Shanghai. The staff was fantastic. They spoke enough English to communicate and were eager to please. I became ill and they bent over backwards to help in getting me medication and checking in on me with hot tea. I highly recommend this property if you are going to Shanghai for any reason

Convenient Hotel for the Shanghai New International Expo Centre at Pudong

This hotel has all the basic creature comforts needed for a comfortable stay. It is very neat and clean, and feels resonably fresh (completed in 2008). The staff are professional and friendly, except for the concierge during my stay. It lacks a good restaurant (the Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor is terrible, and the coffee shop is acceptable). It also does not have a bar or a pool.

If you have business at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong, this location is good (10 minutes by cab or hotel bus).

There is another Holiday Inn close by which is much better in terms of facilities (adjacent to St.Regis), but is much more expensive.

ホテルの周辺はマンションだったため、静かでした。

お店は数分歩くとレストランがあります。地下鉄の近くにはショッピングモールやスタバ、ケンタッキーもあるため良いです。
全体的にコンビニが少ないため、予め買っておくことをお勧めします。

ホテルの内装は、少し古いかなと感じました。浴槽の壁にヒビが入っていたり…
あとテレビが映らなかったため残念でした。
ですが、客室はエレベーターから近かったので、ありがたかったです。

そして、ホテルの方は親切でした。英語が話せるスタッフは少ないため、Google翻訳で対応しました。

這是一間非常舊的假日酒店，房間應該沒有翻新過，我原本住的房間地毯上有一大灘顯而易見的檳榔漬，浴室發霉的非常嚴重。後來跟服務人員反應後，他們幫我換了一間比較乾淨的房間，但是浴室還是一樣有發霉的情形。我不認為我會再來住第二次，而且浴室備品（沐浴乳、洗髮水）那邊清潔的不乾淨，都有污漬跟上一位房客的頭髮。服務人員都很友善，但是這間飯店真的很舊，衛生品質也堪憂。
