The room was hot and suffocating. We were told by the staff that the central A/C was turned off for no apparent reason. We had to talk to the staff manning the Hilton Honor to get our room changed to a different floor. It was a little cooler at 23-24 Celsius but no A/C. We can't imagine how people tolerate the hot room temperature. We had dinner for 3 nights at the restaurant inside the hotel. The wait staff at the restaurant does not understand English to answer our questions about the food items on the menu as a menu item was mis-translated from Chinese to English, which caused us to send the food back. The overall experience at the Double Tree in Shanghai was no comparison to the ones in the U.S. where we stayed at various cities. It was disappointing.

Great Hotel for First Time in Shanghai!!

The Doubletree by Hilton Pudong was such a nice hotel. We were only there for two nights but loved the service, the amenities, and the location. The room had an amazing view of the city. It was very spacious and clean. Definitely recommend the breakfast buffet as it is very convenient, reasonably prices and has lots of variety of foods.

The hotel has a very dated feel to it.
I was really looking forward to enjoying the pool after a morning of meetings but felt incredibly uncomfortable going there with 3 male lifeguards who insisted I wore a swimming cap. I went for 10mins in the end and never went back. Probably would have been ok if there was some music or something.
My room had a kitchen but there was only a cup and glass to use with the kettle and fridge. No cutlery, no spoons so it was completely pointless to have.
The room was spacious and a good space to work from.
The cleaner came really early each day so I had to remember to turn the bell off and hang the 'Do not disturb' banner on.
I liked the morning Shirley Temple dispenser

ゴールデンウィークの上海旅行で家族3人にて利用。エキストラベッドはフロントで手配出来た。場所は浦東側で、浦東空港から車で約30分、虹橋空港にも車で30分の位置。ホテルはやや古く感じられ、ラグジュアリー感はあまり無いが、清潔に保たれており、不満はない。コスパはかなり良いと思う。部屋は広めで、朝食は最低限なものはある感じ。コーヒーのテイクアウトも可。麺のトッピングが日替わりで四川風や上海風など各種用意があって良い。チェックインの際に配布される暖かいクッキーは美味しかった。日本語が話せるスタッフはいなかったが、英語はフロントで通じた。近くに世紀公園という良く整備された公園があり、ジョギングに最適。上海ディズニーにも車でアクセスは良い。車で5分くらいのところにケリーセンターというショッピングモールがあるので、近場で食べたいならそこがおすすめ。

The hotels WiFi doesn’t allow you to use the WiFi while having your vpn on. Something to consider bc then you can’t use many of the sites u want to use. Mattress is as hard a rock, got bruises on the sides sleeping on the mattress. The breakfast was good, the lunch dinner buffet was really good. If you’re a fan of seafood they have all type of lobster crayfish clams squid. Some of the dishes are adventurous with squid mixed in with pasta and shrimp on pizza. They had an amazing tender lamb shoulder they cut, as well as unlimited lamb chops in great sauces the beef and chicken tacos were great too

Birthday trip I wanted to stay in a popular hotel for safety and convience.
I was disappointed in customer service.. First night ok I went shopping the next day to be left a note I had to change my room because of mechanical issues. I could have done better and not be inconvienced.. I left a day early and the hotrl refuse to reimburse that day..Oh by thd way the WiFi is terrible..I paid for my own WiFi

everything was well except for the Taxi service. I could not beleive that people managing taxi allowed people with proper looking taxi but the driver's number was not displayed. another had a metre wired with a separate switch which charged lot more. one driver took me and dropped me elsewhere at 5pm where there were more taxi. I paid and got out but all the 4 of them were willing to take at any rate. lucky I walked to another hotel and they called a Uber. I paid the hotel and driver safely dropped me off. people managing knows who are real and not real. visitors who don't know must be given a bad image of China. I have been travelling for past 25 years so I know.

Stayed in this hotel while visiting family in Shanghai. Overall it is a nice hotel. The price is reasonable if you consider its location. If you buy breakfast at the property, it is very expensive, even to Chinese standard. The pool and gym are nice. Room is clean, bed is comfortable. The towels are snow white and soft. The staff is friendly. I don't know why it is rated only 7.8/10. I don't have anything to complain about.

I had a really stomach turning experience at the Double Tree Pudong. I had a wonderful swim, but when I got out of the pool, another swimmer spat into the overflow. It almost made me sick. Double Tree needs to let patrons know that the pool overflow is not a drain - the water goes back into the pool.

We asked them deliver our luggage after check in. after wait for 40 mines, no one delivery luggage to our room. I have to go down the lobby to get our luggage. Their excuse is that only one worker in the hotel deliver the luggage that night. Secondly, don’t take the taxi from the hotel. We call the taxi, we think that the driver modify the meter. Our trip is only 3km, the receipts shows 9km in 7 mines. It drive on street. No way that you can drive that fast speed. Thirdly, the room is very small. The tv is on side wall of our bed and sofa, you can’t watch TV.

The hotel post 11 years old photos, the rugs are very dirty, stains every where, the room doesn’t look like the photos at all. Smell like mold and tabaco. The bathroom is so dirty, black mold everywhere. I talked to the manager to change me to another room and the other room were the same. He told me that all the rooms were like that. I asked to cancel my reservation and give me my money back because I couldn’t stay there. They refused and I disputed my charge and I get my money back from Expedia when I show the disgusting photos. Expedia told me that they will take this case further, because the advertised something different.
The staff is nice and the only pretty thing the hotel has, is the lobby, apart of that, everything else is disgusting.
This hotel is not a 5 star, is more like 3 star.

There was no air condition in the rooms. The hall and lobby were nice and cool but the room was super warm. They said it’s central air con. Hot air was turned off but cool air not available until late April. They gave me a fan but my room was constantly at 25oC. Their engineer even argued with me indicating that the hall way temp (probably in 21oC) was the same temp as my room where my thermostat was showing 25oC. Full of excuses in this hotel. Won’t go back there again.

One of the older doubletree hotel in CHina. the carepet is pretty worn in the room and hall way. The check-in process was kind of slow compared to Chinese hotel standard. The hotel is in a nice location, close to many restaurant, shopping centers and etc. The bed was comfortable. Wireless internet worked well.

This hotel is in the perfect location if you're in Shanghai for an exhibition at the SNIEC in Pudong. It's only a 5-10 minute taxi ride. No more than $10.

Spacious, clean and very comfortable rooms. Breakfast downstairs is fantastic. Check-in staff have good English which always makes things much easier.

If you're on a sightseeing trip, there are probably better locations to stay, though it's only a 10 minute walk and you're at the Metro station with easy access to just about anywhere you want to go in the city.

Overall, I couldn't have been happier with my stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Shanghai-Pudong and wouldn't hesistate to recommend it to others.

Front lady needs to speak English, l booked Double Tree Hilton not local Chinese hotel ,Is this hotel manager aware of his/her team ???
Ok forget about English, not even understanding of front desk job, just keep saying no , l dont have , give me your credit card... Whatttt...
What kind of hotel are you running manager ?
l booked (paid) room front desk cannot even check the PC to find out what is happening, before she clearly understand of her duty after long flight l am just hearing all negative things and l need to explain how she can check my resevation Really !!!
People coming to stay in hotel they reason is sleep and get over night so this should be hospitality of the hotel to provide warm welcome in and keep talking against to guest. And do not give this BS cookie after all damage is done.

Front desk was terrible , due to my busy schedule l booke 2 reservations, even l print it she does not understand it , she is telling me 1 day is no show , OMG how difficult to get this done l arrived to hotel 9 am to check in and go to room , front desk lady is so unaccomodating she just not solving my room request even if l paid both the day , well this is last time l book this hotel, l get it in the room toilet dirty can you imagine... What is wrong with this hotel...

I booked the hotel because I was lead to believe it was at the airport. As it turns out it was $100 US each direction taxi ride. You should not list this hotel at Pudong. It is an hour ride away and you should pay for the taxi tares.

I ordered a limousine to pick me up at the airport: I could not find the driver and I had to ask around before finding them &, surprise!!!!, the limousine was a van!!! Very disappointed!!!
Taxes on one night stay ($164) were $27!!! I discovered it after I paid.

Hotel is pretty good, this review is mostly about my booking with Hotels.com. Thought I booked hotel with breakfast and wifi, by the time I printed the receipt both breakfast and wifi were gone, which turned a $150 hotel into a $200 hotel. Hotel is fine, though presently they are constructing right in front of the hotel (yet another subway line), which will take a year. Expect dust, noise, and a hard time finding cabs. On the plus side? Swimming pool is amazing; reasonable length, good water, and a nice sauna. Room was spacious, but carpet is old.

My wife and I stayed at this Hilton property the night before we were set to fly out from the Pudong Airport. The staff were all very helpful and friendly during out stay. The room was very spacious, clean, and it was a comfortable stay. We ordered room service from the hotel kitchen for dinner and the food was quite good. The breakfast offered in the morning also has many different choices and is better than most of the other hotel breakfasts we've found in Shanghai. My wife enjoyed the spa and workout center that are located in the hotel. The location is close to the Mag-Lev train to the airport which is why we chose this location. There are not a lot of close by restaurants and the area is still developing however so not the most options for eating outside of the hotel. We will continue to stay at this hotel when we travel.

Walking into the hotel, the first thing I noticed is the decorations that were in the lobby. There was a large Christmas tree in the center with the gingerbread house and other Christmas decorations. The staff is very professional and the ambience great. However, the location is actually less ideal than I thought. Access is good but the actually location ambience is not that great. Finally, I as still surprised at how much I was asked to pay for the room and still had to pay for Wi-Fi. Good thing I bought a pocket Wi-Fi at the airport.

Probably worst hotel I've stayed among last 100

Air freshener is toxic. Scale in room has dead batteries. Bathtub's drain leaks continuously. Most restaurants closed for many hours in the day. No Chinese address on card to show taxi driver and when you call the phone number it transfers you to 5 different recorded messages which all then end with a message that they will transfer you to English attendant but then it hangs up on you!

Noisy air conditioning. Room has scale but batteries dead. Door key 10+ years old and requires 7-8 times to open. TV channel button changes from DVD to HDMI, etc. Room keys don't show address in Chinese so no taxi has any idea how to get to your hotel. Air freshener smells horrible and after cleaning your room smells like cigarette smoke. Phone number of hotel leads to 4 different transfers and then says they will transfer to operator and then hangs up on you.

AgentOrange air freshener, expensive bad Wifi, bad quality door key readers, no address on card keys to show taxi driver, no Chinese language address on web-site to show taxi drivers, phone number of card key results in a series of 5 different recorded messages ending in \"we will not transfer you to an English speaking person\" after which it hangs-up on you (regardless of which of the 5 options you choose), front doors locked at bottom with no message on door that they are locked, restaurant closed between lunch & dinner, room condition ok but old & damaged in some places, not close to shopping or walking area, staff uninterested to help, taxi concierge frequently absent, very noisy air conditioning.
