No parking available so we parked at the mall adjacent to the hotel. Our flights are at 9am so we checked out at 5.30am but door to mall car park is locked by mall staff. Walked up car ramps to car park from outside but could not leave as payment must be made inside the mall which open at 10am. There are also no security personnel at mall to help us. Fortunately a kind hotel was was able to call mall parking attendant to come over in motorbike so we can pay and leave the car park. Fortunately we had ample time and did not miss our flights.

Great hotel near to the UMS campus.

Was here on a vacation, and stayed in KK for a few nights while exploring Sabah. This hotel is convenient and is located in a large mall. It seems to be an old Novotel, but has not really been maintained well and is in need of some repair. However, it is clean and comfortable and the series excellent! The breakfast is comprehensive and good and the rooms are large. The only is so we had was the water in the show as not quite hot enough, and parking is a big problem. The hotel itself does not have any reserved par and there is no valet service. There is only street part, but because it is located at a big mall, most of the time there is no parking available. Overall, a good hotel outside of downtown. Note that it takes about 20 minutes to drive to downtown from this hotel.

Nice hotel near UMS

Vacation with my wife. Overall the hotel is nice, and the service is very good, but the parking is a big problem. There is only street parking available, and because the hotel is part of a mall, it is really hard to find parking. The hotel should provide at least valet pa.

Good place to bring family for vacation. Spacious. Fast check-in process. Receptionist inform that swimming pool still under renovation and propose room with bath tub. She's really helpful.

However, hopefully management of the make a proper maintenance schedule and avoid school holiday. Some customer like me, priority to choose hotel is swimming pool availability.

Other than that, I really enjoy the stay here :)

Hotel might be a little off the city area but grab and easily accessible. I rather stay in the outskirts where it’s not that noisy.
Nearby mall for all your needs at any hours, one borneo have lots to offer. But don’t expect a shopping heaven from it, it’s far from it. It maybe a hyper mall but shops are quite basic.
Our stay was awesome, room is clean and staff and friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average, KK have much more to offer for breakfast in other places.
Didn’t get to try their pool, but visited it. Basic pool nothing fancy, good for kids to relax.
Overall experience is good and will like to stay there again. KK is full of places to go, will revisit some time soon.
Please give up the good work

Pros : Many defects in room (shower & aircon ). Call the technicians & they attended the fault very fast.
Hotel next to 1Borneo Mall - very convenience with many eateries & shopping.
Cons :
Lighting in the toilet is very dim. Should repair the lights over the toilet bowl.

Decent hotel though location not ideal

Hotel was adjoining 1Borneo Mall and so very convenient. But it would have been better to book a hotel near Jesselton Point overseeing vast expanses of the sea and also a convenient location for island hopping and other facilities as well. Klagan Regency was a decent hotel though with excellent beeakfast. The only negative aspect of the hotel was its poor lift management.

The room was really spacious and modern with a comfy bed. The bathroom was nice but not very well designed - u had to be standing under the shower to reach the taps to turn it on which meant u got soaked if you tried turning it on before getting undressed, and a glass wall separates the shower from the bedroom so for some privacy there is a blind which has mould stains from being in the shower. Other than that it was really nice. Breakfast was great, so much variety and it all tasted good. The staff were nice. The computer printing and scanning facilities in the foyer turned out to be really handy (don't think we would've noticed them normally but we ended up needing them). The pool area looked nice, we didn't have time to use it though. The gym was super basic! The mall the hotel is attached too was really average though, there was only a handful of western fashion shops.

Sisters Nite Outing.

It was good, the room is spacious, clean and comfort, I can easily go to the mall to buy something. The view was great from 17th floor. Moreover the staffs were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children are the best offer for my family. Staying here are the best compare to the other hotels in 1 Borneo Hypermall.

First room the aircond wasn't strong. Got upgraded to Deluxe. Call reception for safe box issue but no one attending. Call for extra hanger also no one attending. Courtesy and staff attitude were great but implementation very weak. Hotel management should look into the delivery of guest request rather than only concentrating on standard and courtesy.

It was a business trip. Quite close to my work place, about 20 mins away. Convenient as it is beside the shopping mall.
Quiet area, although the gym was on the same floor. The breakfast was not a great spread, but was good enough to be stuffed till lunch.
It was a bit shocking when I stepped into the room where part of the flooring was wooden panel. It felt hollow at some parts and in fact can feel your foot sinking in.

Good location but bad aircondition in hot climate

The location is at 1Borneo Hypermall so easy access so the mall so i can do some shopping at H&M, CottonOn, Parkson, Gap, Mango etc and easy to find good food restaurant which is awesome!
As for the hotel,I have no problem with the staff and they are very nice and welcoming. There is egg station for breakfast which is good but with a price if RM40++ for adults, it is lacked of food variety compare to other hotel!
The pool has already great view but there was a bad smell at the end of pool near the empty bar which by the way has lots of ants! Lack of towels whereby i ordered 5 it only came 3-4 towels only!
KK is already hot and when i entered the hotel it was warm but when i entered my room the aircond was not cold as other 3-4-5 star hotel! it was still warm! Hope the management can fix it that. Also the white towels bathroom in the toilet has stained already. Pls throw it away already

The Indoor pool \"Rain\"

I choose this place, because they have an indoor pool, but unfortunately, they did not allow us to use the pool because of the the \"Rain\". This is indoor supposed to be we can use it. And the first room we got is not clean, and the room was open, there hallway smells and every floor, I spoke with their Hotel Manager or Superior, She's being nice after I completely complain about the room in 11th Floor. Anyway the Manager decided to give us a different room, I'm just okay with it, but not 100% they really need to improve their cleanliness to attract more Tourists to visit Malaysia specially the new ones.t

Good choice for visiting of north-west Borneo

Good choice for spending some days in Kota Kinabalu. The staff from very beginning was nice and helpful. Hotel was chosen to be a starting point for trips with rent car to Sepilok, Poring and KK surroundings. Far from city centre getting there without car may take some time/cost (taxi, bus etc). There is a shopping mall 1Borneo, and some 24h shops nearby.
There is no parking lot. Car can be parked on paid parking next to mall. Parking directly in front of hotel costs 6 MYR.
Room was clean and tidy. Everyday bed was made and botteled water provided. WIFI good connection.
Breakfast buffet - much to choose for everybody.
Pool on 7th floor clean, but surroundings not; of course mess was made by the guests, but hotel service shall be interested more.

unpleasant stay in this hotel

first i was quite excite to stay in this hotel.
However I was cheated by the photo in the websites, the hotel is quite rundown and need some renovation.
After taken the shower, the water hardly go down to the drain. The door not able to close properly. I have changed three rooms in three different days the room are all same. I have staying one day in suite room but condition better than the superior room. Breakfast was suck.
will not recommend this hotel.

Spacious room but bad location

Was able to get early check in which was so nice as we had taken the red eye.

Hotel was quite far from downtown - takes about 30 mins from the airport to downtown then give or take another 20 - 30 mins from downtown to 1Borneo depending on the traffic jam that day. Taxi from airport would cost MYR 50 while from downtown MYR 30 so costs could add up just with transportation alone. Location is convenient when taking tours as it was on the way to city highlights such as Kinabalu Park, Poring Springs, River Cruise et al.

Max from the front desk was especially helpful and even provided good insight on which places to go to / tours to book.

Food was quite dismal - breakfast a sorry affair. The only redeeming dish I tasted was the beef rendang. You'd be better off taking your meals elsewhere. The mall right beside offers a multitude of options. My fave finds were Nandos, Nur Balgis and My Kitchen Curry House.

Room had a nice view and had the usual toiletries as well as a flat iron. Hotel also had a pool but the gym was not open while we were there. Loved the chair massager by the lobby.

Don't even bother bringing 2-piece coz most people swimming are all covered. Breakfast choices are good. There's nothing much in the mall. I did not really enjoyed my stay here. I was here alone on vacation for 3days. My advise is to choose hotel thst is within city center, kk is not as fun as KL so nevermind the cost per night. However, hotel staff is good, they let me extend 2hrs for free from the 1pm check out time.

I would admit the location of the hotel to serve our purpose of stay in Kota Kinabalu which we are thankful for. However discomfort was felt when entering the room everytime due to the scent of stale cigarettes which made resting at times uneasy. Wifi wasnt available on our first night of stay. However on overall our stay there is decent. Thank you for the hospitality given by the hotel.

Thanks for upgrade me to a better room 1010, but wifi connection problem and the portable/moveable shower malfunction. Then, next day, moved to another room 628, down graded with bad view and fscilities. Next moved to room 610, seemed similar to room 1010, but toilet curtain was malfunction and rough floor nearby the bathtub was missing in order to avoid slippy, also two lights beside left and right of the bed, and a sofa were missing. Thanks.
