This resort and hotel are really only geared up for good weather, and it was mixed in the week we spent here. When the sun was shining it was lovely but there isn't much to do in Portinatx when it isn't (public transport is limited). It also might have been better to go earlier in the season (we were 6 - 13 Oct), as within the hotel it felt like some things were running out and not being replaced, and many restaurants were closed. Overall, a nice trip but the quality of the hotel didn't match the glowing reviews we'd read on line.

Wonderful from start to finish. Attention to detail was impressive, pretty looking hotel, tremendous service, fantastic management (Tania Fernandez), great food selection, lovely location, staff were helpful (Scott and others), polite and happy. The Barcelo Portinatx is the last hotel at the end, by a beautiful cove and tranquil beach very close by with the charismatic Carlos, who will provide music, cocktails, sunbeds and shade. Plenty of restaurants serving tasty food nearby. The Barcelo Portinatx has a chilled and cool vibe - great for adults. Complimentary drinks and an unexpected bottle of Cava and chocolates on arrival for our wedding anniversary. Above all else the friendly staff, led by Tania, made our holiday at Barcelo Portinatx a complete joy. Two lovely pools and pool bar serving great food and cocktails is heaven. Again the staff were excellent, very attentive and lovely. The rooms are spacious for two persons, lovely shower and very comfy bed and sea views were lovely. Everything you need in a room. Cleaning and replenishment of room towels etc was excellent. Lovely bar and bar staff with entertainment in the evenings and health events in the mornings. Wellness treatments and an outside gym are available. Really cannot fault anything. We came just at the end of Sept and Portinatx was quiet and chilled. Perfect for us and we would come back in a heartbeat. Lots to do outside of the hotel too. The hippie market in the chic San Joan De Labritja is close by and easy

2nd time here and the staff are what make it such a good place to holiday. Super friendly and efficient. They can't do enough for you. Poolside, more sunloungers than guests so nobody is ever chasing around for somewhere to relax

The maintenance is pretty poor. Just in our room. None of the USB ports worked, the aircon sensor on the door was faulty so we had to prod with a coat hanger every time the door was opened and closed, the back door lock didn't work, the ceiling fan banged on every rotation and got louder each time so couldn't use it and the phone in room didn't work. All pretty small but all in one room was not what was expected and easily fixable, the main thing was the aircon sensor which had obviously been botched before by the selotape on it! All were reported on day one so hopefully they got sorted after we checked out.

Very close to a lovely beach/bay with a few exceptional restaurants close by (the Hotels restaurant on the beach - \"Magical\" is well worth a visit!) Our stay couldn't have been better!

This is a fabulous hotel, the service was excellent, the staff were so genuinely friendly and helpful. The views from the hotel across the sea are beautiful and the location is perfect, it’s just a 10 minute walk to the main restaurants and also to the main beach (there are 3). The ambience is very chilled and the decor in the hotel is perfect white Ibiza style with natural materials. Oh and there is a very friendly and gentle resident cat! Perfect in every way!

Adults only hotel that was mainly quiet around the pool areas, however, at certain times of the day there was noise coming from a block of apartments overlooking the 'quiet' pool. I'm not sure if this was staff residence or general public but children playing and shouting (not a problem to me but might be for those that want absolute 'Adults Only'. Also dogs barking and fighting and residence chatting/debating (noice carried) on their balconies. Food was good. I especially liked the food at the pool bar. All staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful rocky beach location.

A Fantastic Stay at Barcelo Portinatx

Amazing experience - we had an outdoor jacuzzi room which was incredible with views to die for but our stay would not have been the same if not for the loveliest guest relations staff member I have ever met! Mell - you made our trip and my birthday extra special ... I loved how Mell checked on all the guests - but also on the staff which, on the Sunday, were extra busy and of course Mell was there helping in the restaurant! Breakfast was delicious and tasty every single day! Ruben (reception) and the Concierge boys (only know one name - Michael) were also super helpful and friendly. A great break away - I can't wait to return!

We purposefully chose the adults only hotel as we wanted to experience the more chilled part of Ibiza and we weren't disappointed. Barcelo Portinatx is beautifully situated at the end of the road with a lovely clean beach and smaller coves nearby (oh the sunsets are beautiful!). We had to change a room early on due to a technical problem but the move was dealt with within 30 minutes which was amazing. The room we stayed in was comfortable, clean with some amenities like toiletries and coffee and tea making facilities. We went All Inclusive and the food was great, large but not obscene choice for breakfast and dinner and with lovely menu in the pool bar (the gazpacho is to die for). As we were there during Euro 2024 the drinks were flowing and the selection was great and so was the atmosphere. The pool areas are nice and quiet, you can always find a sunlounger. There was some background music and on occasion live singers. I cannot praise the staff enough, very helpful, smiling and friendly. We hired a car as it's worth exploring other nearby coves and towns. We also hired a small boat near the hotel to explore the coastline and go snorkelning. Overall amazing, relaxing, stress and hassle free stay and we would not hesitate to return.

The location is fab, the rooms are lovely as are the views. Lunch by the pool is excellent.

Only areas for improvement are the quality of the evening buffet (despite being AI we ate out every night) and the odd occasional smell of drains around the lower pool.

Outstanding hotel, and truly an adults only hotel in a lovely quiet part of the island. service fantastic, staff just so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious with lots of choice all freshly made. Such a very relaxing hotel, staff really help you make the most from your stay, their attention to detail was a real bonus. The room was wonderful, huge king sized bed, lovely patio with amazing sea view. We stayed all inclusive and the options and choices of food and drink were fantastic. What an amazing hotel! The Staff are extraordinary - they care so much about the guests. One bartender even offered to drive us to a reservation when our booked taxi didn't arrive on time. While there is nothing wrong with the hotel there are a few observations to make here. We booked a superior sea view and that room was fine. On check in the front desk attempted to give us a free upgrade (which they inked onto the room keycard cover along with “junior suite”. If you are giving an upgrade and you’re a class hotel you don’t need to do this. As regards the room in reality “suite” seems a little overselling the suite term, and which unfortunately smelled quite bad so we reversed to what we’d booked. Also this hotel promotes itself at a certain level, advertising bath products from Bulgari but they’re not. It feels more like an upmarket package holiday hotel in certain aspects.

Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Essen war gut, hatte Halbpension gebucht.
Ums Hotel herum, ist eher ruhig, was ich sehr geschätzt hatte. Hat jedoch eine eigenen Bucht und daneben 3 Restaurants sowie eine Tauschschule.
Ich würde das Hotel jedem weiter empfehlen, der ruhe sucht und sich etwas verwöhnen lassen möchte.

Underwhelming to say the least. First of all, the all inclusive package is a waste of money. The only options for dining are a buffet for breakfast, pool restaurant for lunch and buffet for dinner. The one restaurant they do have you have to PAY for regardless if you bought the AI package. What a rip off. The refrigerators in the rooms weren’t stocked due to “covid” however I would be more concerned with a full buffet shared amongst all hotel guests than a personal fridge for each patron’s room. The beds are horribly uncomfortable and are two full size beds pushed together to form a king. Don’t go here.

Fantastic Sunny Getaway Hotel - Checks Every Box

The reception on arrival was top class and the staff go to pains to make sure you in holiday mode from the get go. It was very easy to arrange an all-inclusive (AI) package for food and beverages with plenty of variety and great value. The hotel is beautifully designed - calm and very airy. I got a small upgrade and was delighted with sea glimpses over the balcony. I spent most days relaxing by the pool with lots of nice beverages on the AI aswell as lunch and snacks, so easy. The food at the bar is good, not great. There are plenty of options but a bit hit and miss on the quality of ingredients. The only negative for me wsa the pool soundtrack which were renditions of popular pop songs/ crooners on repeat. Speaking to the other guests, genuinely it was the only negative aspect for everyone as it can get grating. The breakfast buffet is exceptional - the quality of ingredients excellent and a massive range. Dinner buffet is ok, a bit repetitive but wasn't that much as an additional at time of booking. Can't express how lovely and friendly all of the staff were - morale obviously good and it showed in the service with everyone (staff and guests) very relaxed and happy. Reception super helpful in booking restaurants, recommended day trips etc. I was also concerned about needing a covid test and that too was sorted out without any stress. All in all - I will definitely be back (hopefully they take on board the pool music feedbck)!!

The hotel is located in a very secluded part of the area which is lovely. there is a small Beach right in front of the hotel and a larger beach about a 10-minute walk away. The hotel is designed in a very modern way and all of the staff for very friendly. Good covid-19 safety measures in place to ensure safety. Loved the large bed and the shower on the balcony.

The hotel is in a great location on the northwest side of the island. We were celebrating a 50th birthday as two couples and this adults only all inclusive option was great for us.

The staff were extremely welcoming, the hotel was clean and the rooms spacious with a wonderfully comfortable bed.

Sadly the Noray restaurant on the beach was closed so we had the buffet breakfast and dinner and serviced poolside lunches. The food was on the whole extremely good with lots of options. The buffet was extremely busy and finished promptly at 10.00. We had no problems getting extra drinks and cocktails all day if we wished.

There are two pools which were not overly full. We were able to change towels as many times as you wanted. We were expecting to swim in the sea but it was full of jellyfish sadly and so we spent a lot of time at the pool·

The hotel is on a slope so be aware there are lots of steps although there are lifts but not to all levels.

The hotel uses some waste ground alongside for its parking which was both very full and also difficult to navigate due to the ground being so poor. Be aware of your hire car on this!

I was going to use the wellness centre but it looked very tired and unkempt and so didn't bother. I guess it's end of season and the hotel closes very soon and sure it will be revamped for next year.

All in all it was a lovely relaxed spot, very quiet which was exactly what we wanted. With attentive staff and great food and drinks.

The hotel was excellent. We had a sea view room overlooking the quiet bay with incredible sunsets every night. The food at the hotel restaurant was amazing, as was food served at the pool bar. Highly recommend Barceló Portinatx for those looking for a quiet stay. Staff also incredibly friendly. Hired a car for a few days so able to get out and see the sights also. Great weeks holiday to Ibiza!

It’s a nice hotel but needs something to liven it up a bit. Completely dead after 9pm at nights. Bar closed by 10pm and no entertainment at nights. No music by the pool areas. You were nearly scared to talk as everyone would be listening. Nice rooms and good maid service. Reception staff and porters were all lovely. It’s just lacking some va va voom.
The lift was broken so we had to walk 4 times a day up and down. If you’re not fit, you WILL struggle!!
If you pay for a jacuzzi room make sure it’s not 3601, the view is of a block of apartments that tower over you.

The hotel is elegant and situated in what I think is the best part of Portinatx. It is in a quite area and there is a lovely bay with a beach just opposite. Some reviewers preferred a larger bay closer to the centre of town; however, at least in mid-July when we were there, this larger bay was overcrowded while the beach at the Barcelo Hotel was far quieter.
The hotel complex is large but is divided into three buildings and is spread over a large area and, thus, we never felt that the hotel was crowded. Our room was sea-facing, which allows one to enjoy spectacular sunsets, if one is at the hotel at the right time. The room was large and very comfortable. The choice of cooked and continental breakfast was extensive and of excellent quality. A nice touch was the selection of free beverages and fresh fruit at the hotel reception. We were also impressed by the kindness and professionality of all personnel at the hotel, from cleaners, to waiters to the hotel managers.
We are happy to strongly recommend the Barcelo Hotel for a stay in Portinatx.

Excellent location and lovely clean room. The breakfast area was disappointing and self service coffee machines often weren’t working or people didn’t know how to use them causing unnecessary issues. Surely staff can serve tea and coffee to tables? That said the coffee was excellent as was the food. More hooks in the rooms are needed for wet towels etc and we would have expected free water in the room.

Great hotel but a few things would make it so much better - even though advertised as non-smoking property, people allowed to smoke in beach bar and at pool, yuck - drinks/food at beach bar are over-priced and not good, so after first experience better to leave hotel for food/drinks - beds around pool were free for first half of stay, then they made a 30 Euro charge - so nobody able to use them - madness and caused lots of bad feeling, parking was on rough public ground and often full.

Fantastic value for money. We went All Inclusive and the standard of the meals were excellent. Overall staff were very friendly, however there were one or two individuals who came across as slightly brusque. Although we’d paid for All Inclusive it felt sometimes that the hotel was perhaps slightly less accommodating to A.I. guests compared to some hotels who specialise in A.I. Holidays, who go out of their way to provide you with packed lunches snacks bottled water etc. when you go out for the day.

My ocean view room was enormous and so relaxing to come back to after a day of exploring. The breakfast buffet that is included was also fabulous. The only downside was a lack of fitness centre at the hotel as I thought this was going to be added by 2018. Apparently it’s for 2019 now. Parking was a little tricky from a terrain perspective so take care. At least there was free parking however.

Beautiful hotel in north of Ibiza

New adults only hotel, beautiful and clean. Got upgraded to junior suite which was a nice bonus! Two swimming pools and right by a little bay with some sun beds. Food at pool and beach restaurant was nice, although various dishes were not available. Dinner service could be improved a little.

Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Our stay at the Barcelo was amazing. We were there for 3 nights celebrating our anniversary and it was all we needed. From the amazing pool to the views from our balcony - it was perfect! Breakfast was great each morning and the area has a lot of great restaurants to choose from. It is a bit far from the nightlife of Ibiza, but we didn't miss out on a thing! The staff was also very accommodating.

Charming hotel!

I thought this was a beautiful hotel (Great breakfast) and in a remote location. There was still plenty to walk to but it was near a quiet beach and there was free parking nearby. We had trouble with the front desk helping us find dinner reservations, but everything else was fantastic!

The Barcelo Portinatx had welcoming and helpful staff, a varied breakfast and relaxed ambience. Location was great, slightly set apart from the resort centre. Interesting walk to the lighthouse also. The hotel doesn't have loads of facilities and there was limited entertainment whilst we were there - but that suited as as we went out of the hotel in the evenings. Overall, a good choice

Great hotel to relax and soak up the Ibiza vibes

we visited the hotel in mid may - just before the clubbing seasoned opened. All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about places to go. The room were lovely, great view of the sea and the most comfortable bed . Only comment was bottled water wasn't provided in the rooms and the tap water wasn't very nice (worse than London!). Apart from that it was a great place to stay, chill out and soak up the vibes

Lovely hotel close to beach

This is a lovely looking hotel however, the hotel lacks attention to detail. We were not offered a pool towel card on arrival, we changed room due to a drain smell. The tub on the balcony emptied onto the balcony then into the drain, flooding the balcony. The room wasn't serviced until mid to late afternoon and when we were on the balcony the tub wasn't cleaned. The mirror was only cleaned in the middle leaving the corners dirty.
With the standing water under the tub encouraged mosquitos.
The staff were good, Monica in the restaurant was consistently pleasant and hard working.
The hotel location is well serviced by local restaurants and the small beach with shallow sea is a bonus to any holiday.

Fantastic hotel, highly recommended

Barcelo Portinatx is a great hotel. It's perfectly located by the beach at the end of the road. It's well designed and easy to navigate around. There are two swimming pools, alongside a poolside bar. When I stayed, at night, a DJ played chilled house music, accompanied by a live saxophone player!

The style of the hotel is modern and the overall colour scheme is white. The rooms are clean and spacious with all mod cons, including good wi-fi. The food is varied and delicious. There is also a beachside bar/restaurant.

The staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. All speak good English, some near perfect English. Nothing was too much trouble.

Overall, it's a fantastic destination for any traveller.

We spent for nights in thus hotel, which was a fantastic experience. We stayed in a Jacuzzi suite with an ocean view. The room was beautiful, clean and well layer out, it was everything we could have wanted. The food in the restaurant was lovely, breakfast and diner was a good range and well cooked.

Beautiful hotel in beautiful location

Great stay at barcelo portinax. Staff were lovely, greeted with a glass of cava. Due to an early checkout they arranged some breakfast for us.
We loved the location, we hired a car to get around the island which we thought was worth it. We loved the hotel DJ's playing chilled music on an evening. I'm not normally a fan of buffet dining but the food was delicious and presentation superb.
There are loads of steps, not an issue for us but would be for someone with mobility issues.
Only issue to note was the smell of drains - not good. Staff did keep room clean but it ruined it slightly for me. We spoke to reception but they could not move us to a similar standard room (ours was stunning) so we chose to put up with it. I would totally return and already planning our next trip.

Very relaxing hotel

We arrived at the hotel at 12.00 to be told check in would be about 1.30 to 2.00. Although there was water and Cava in the entrance we were not offered any. We came back at 2.00 to be told that we wouldn't be able to check in till 3.00. Again not offered any refreshments after an extremely early start that morning. We finally managed to check into our room a 3.00. This seemed very strange as the cleaning team were in our room by 9.00 most mornings to clean our room, on one day they even knocked on the door at 8.30am ! When we attempted to check into our room we were not told where the facilitates were in hotel and left to find our own way around, in such a big hotel with so many staircases it would have been nice !
Cocktails were very disappointing. All made from a premade mix.

The hotel though was very well decorated and very relaxing.

Perfection!

This hotel is absolutely beautiful - the decor around all of the hotel is so tastefully done, the atmosphere super relaxed and chilled, the staff are all wonderful and as for the room and the bed ... just Devine!! Only slight hitch was that there was a bad small of drains in a few areas of the hotel which is not so pleasant and could do with investigating! However this wasn't by the pools or restaurants so didn't trouble us, but it could do with sorting! Would not deter me from going again though and I defo will be going back!

Nice newly refurbished but with teething problems

Check in was long but fine and we were offered a drink. We were taken to our room and upon waking we're greeted with a horrific sulphur smell of blocked drains or raw sewage. We complained and air freshener was sprayed to mask it. Needless to say it didn't and we complained again. We were then offered 2 other rooms and then finally one in a different block. However, the balcony door didn't lock so someone was called out to fix this. In essence the hotel has been refurbished but to a low quality of material. Toilets aren't working properly (ours constantly refilled unless you hit the flush buttons), toilet paper handles are coming away from MDF walls and the staff seem incapable of sorting something out. No sign of the manager. Food and drink are over-priced for the quality and portion size. We went to the local beach bar every night and into town to great restaurants and service. The area is lovely and quiet and snorkelling was excellent. The hotel looks good but Barcelo need to send in a team to problem solve. The car park and scrub land at back of hotel is a disgrace. Filthy and needs to be properly landscaped and the \"rubbish\" tidied up.

Overall we had a very pleasant experience and would recommend this hotel. Hotel and rooms are much nicer in reality than in the photos, everything is newly remodelled and nicely styled. Excellent swimming pool area and great breakfast buffet.
Only complaints - air conditioning was sluggish, and \"seaview\" room looked directly out towards other block of hotel rooms, with the sea visible only when standing on the balcony and looking far to the side. And hotel is not quite beachfront - there is a small road and strip of buildings between hotel and beach.
