-We were given a back side room and we needed to pay to upgrade to the front side.
-The front side room was great but the back side room was not good at all.
-Breakfast was great with a lot of option.
-We took half board and the dinner was ok, it was not outstanding.
-The property was amazing otherwise. Very quite and peaceful.
-Great Views from the property.
-We got a 10 mins massage complimentary which was great.
-We also got a complimentary glassbottom boat tour and that was great too.

Absolute perfection. We loved everything about our stay and can’t stop telling people about it. We wanted peace and quiet and that is exactly what we got. Absolutely beautiful property in a perfect, quiet, unspoiled (and not too ‘touristy’ area of the country, with excellent friendly welcoming staff. Food and drinks were great. We adored the friendly resident dogs who welcomed us back every day. Bliss. .

The resort is situated beautifully. We had a relaxing time during our recent vacation. It's not too crowded and feels quite intimate. The service was great! I am a vegetarian and the chef made accomodations to suit my dieting needs. Room was clean and they had prompt turn down service. Evening music at the bar was relaxing. Kayak rental, glass bottom tour, pools, beach, spa and such kept us occupied as well. Highly recommend this place.

My 2 feedback... the noise from the street is loud in the corner units. You can see and hear the folks hanging out and talking loudly and listening to loud music.

Spa service was a little less than good. I requested deep tissue massage and was promised I would get one. But it was a soft to medium pressure at best. So it was not worth the spend.

Very lovely short stay, 4 nights, at this hotel in October 2023. Room was very comfortable with a lovely sea view, where if you're lucky you can see whales swimming the other side of the reef. Food very good, whether at the buffet restaurant, the lunch time bar or the a la carte restaurant. Only negative was the number of stray dogs wandering around the property, and the number of guests feeding them despite the requests not to.

Solid experience for the price paid

A good resort for the price but there aren't really enough sun loungers around the pool or the beach. Guests block them early morning which is not great unless you sink to that level. Air conditioning in room often not really effective and they seem to switch it off in the gym. Nice location with a small beach. Staff very friendly, making our stay a pleasant one

Massage in the spa was lovely.
Food was good, and the a la carte restaurant overlooking the sea gave proper paradise vibes!

Beautiful common areas but poor room and value

Plus points:
•The public areas (reception, lounge, bar, restaurant and pool) are very attractively designed and appointed (though, small point: the buffet serving hatches could do with an upgrade)
•The views and outside areas are beautiful.
•The service at the front desk and spa are excellent, as are the room cleaning services.
•The food in the restaurant and bar is very good and varied.
Minus points:
•Our room was disappointing: dated and in need of refurbishment, very little artificial light at night (despite 8 outdated bulbs in the room) and little cupboard and wardrobe storage space – but it did have a nice spacious balcony looking out directly onto the beach and ocean.
•The service in the restaurant and bar was a bit hit and miss; the staff were very friendly and jovial, but they seemed to have had little training in waitering and there was little evidence of strong Maitre d’ supervision to keep things moving effectively.
•There seems little point in having a restaurant dress code when so few people observe it and it is not encouraged.
•The (free) snorkelling was disappointing: few fish to see and quite short timeframe.

The good points about this hotel are:
- Beautiful architecture of the reception
- Clean rooms
- Beautiful view
- Beautiful and functional facilities
- Great wifi
- Great staff
- Great water activities
- Great value for the money
- Great spa

Here are the things that need to be improved:

- The food is not good. Everything is spiced up and there’s no simple option. I even ordered a Greek Salad just to have something easy to digest but it had curry in it.
- The plated option for all inclusive is not exciting due to the lack of options.
- The bathroom has an open concept which is not comfortable for one: privacy and two: the smell. There needs to be a proper door to separate the toilet from the room and also a ventilation system.
- During one of dinners, we asked for a Rose wine and they decided to choose an item that is not included in the all inclusive package. The lack of communication affects the transparency of the hotel and destroys the sense of trust. If the item we ask is not available in the package we need to be told prior.
- We received a bill in our room one day after we checked in with two charges which we later found out there were some optional donations. You can either explain to your guests what those charges are at the time of check in or ask them if they like to participate at the checkout. Making your guests feel obligated is not the best way to receive donations. We would have gladly helped but we felt very uncomfortable the way this was handled.

Great service from the kitchen staff, they accommodated our needs as vegetarians at each meal and made sure we didn't go hungry. Even the sous chef would come out and greet the guests, fantastic touch! They really have a great vibe around the resort and no request is too big.

The room is nice and was cleaned promptly each day (apart from when the cyclone hit).

One thing for improvement I would add is the meal options do get somewhat repetitive at breakfast, some continental options would be nice. And at the end of our stay, our checkout was delayed by the front desk claiming that our card wasn't working when in fact it was the connection from their machine to the bank causing the issue.

Overall we'd definitely recommend staying here and will be returning ourselves in the future.

We'd an excellent two nights here. My wife is vegan and the chef couldn't have been more helpful making sure that she was taken care of. She said it was the best vegan food she's had in a restaurant.
The room was great and there was plenty to do in the resort. The resort feels intimate and quiet. Would highly recommend.

A breathtakingly beautiful location. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful and the hotel was immaculately presented throughout. For those with a taste for adventure and outdoor activities there are many packages available through the hotel or via tropical tours which is a two minute walk from the hotel and offers an excellent service. We elected for the B & B option but I would recommend giving serious thought to the all inclusive option if you have a more sedentary view of what a holiday should be however the B & B option would probably be a better option for the more active/adventurous guest. Drinks and food under the B & B option are expensive so something else to consider when choosing B & B or all inclusive. We went in May and were fortunate with the weather. We were advised that for the best/driest weather October is the month to visit. For pictures go to the hotels website as their pictures accurately reflect what the hotel looks like.

We had the most amazing stay at the veranda in Grand Gaube. The staff were exceptionally helpful in dealing with everything we needed! Especially rakesh! The atmosphere is beautiful and the hotel comes including so many wonderful water activities! I would definitely recommend staying here!

Fantastic place for a relaxing holiday

If you are want a beautiful location, great service and a high standard of all inclusive, then this is the place for you. If you want to party, then you may find this place a little quiet. The hotel looks just like the pictures online and when we arrived (a day later than planned) the welcome was of a 5 star resort standard. Lunch is a la carte with waiter service (great choices), pools are relaxed (although you still need to get up early to grab a spot) and there are activities if you want to partake. If you want true relaxation then this is the place for you. The staff and managers work really hard to ensure that you are taken care of and if they can go the extra mile they will. A friend is lactose intolerant and when the hotel was informed they went out and purchased “milk” for her. Would def recommend this place.

Overall stay was great, but a few minor nuisances. Our room on arrival was not available to use even booking 8 months ahead! We had a king bed, we booked twins (travelled with sister) so that had to be changed. Stairs all over resort, not set up at all for even minor physical disability (I had a knee injury). Our upscale room was nicely located to pool and beach. We loved the adult only aspect, no kids running, screaming, clogging pools, restaurants etc.

It was a very long check in.
The morning of check out day we were interrupted to check the mini bar even though we had a Do not disturb sign on our door, Also, we got asked by four different hotel staff about our check out time on the morning of check out even though 12pm is the posted time. One Security staff at the parking lot was not friendly on departure day check out.
Some staff seemed more worried about this than actually how our stay had been. One young waiter at the beach restaurant asked whether we had pd our bill upon our leaving without a thank you or asking us if we enjoyed the food. He failed to realize we had pd the bill with the other waiter.
The hotel is in a perfect location and a stunning location. In my opinion a few staff members as well as the security staff member lack of courtesy needs room for improvement.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT....this one of the worst deals and terrible service we have ever received. Normally never rate a resort or hotel so badly , but this accomodation did not treat us very fairly at all...the resort, pools and beach were very nice, however the service was very bad and the prices were absolutely out of this world..our a/c unit in our room never worked and they would not fix it...our room was near the bar and was extremely loud til late every night..the food was very expensive and quite unsatisfactory at best, so we drove into the next town each night to dine and had wonderful and reasonable meals at a local restaurant. DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT!!

What an excellent place to stay. The staff were really very, very good, friendly, helpful and some of the cheeriest people I have ever encountered. The views from the hotel were superb and I'd recommend at least a visit or two to their A la Carte restaurant at the beach. There were no children at the hotel which was bliss, having endured a twelve our flight in a nursery school for a plane.

The hotel staff is absolutely wonderful. Most of them do their best to make your stay memorable. This is the hotel's greatest advantage.

Comfort rooms are rather small, but functional. Hot water runs 90% of the time. AC works, but is loud which can be an issue at night.

Unless you are with an all-inclusive package, drinks are rather pricey (about the level of a major European city). Beach-side restaurant is good for lunch, though quality is very unstable - we had one day an excellent octopus salad, and sent it back the next day. Some other reviewers mentioned the food was repetitive - that's true to an extend (eg, for dinner there was always a chicken dish, a fish dish, a veggie dish, and a lamb/beef dish - but they were made in different extend). But the food is very tasty, and it's hard to conceive one would come away from breakfast/dinner hungry.

Warning about the beach - do not expect a picturesque long white beach. There's a small beach with ample beds, but the sea doubles as a port. Hence, it's shallow and very rocky (I cut my foot twice in the first two days). To be able to swim, you need to walk about 100m into the sea. Good advice - bring some rubber shoes!

The village provides zero opportunity for fun, but busses stop at the hotel's gate, and can bring you to sightseeing or shopping in less than an hour at a rock-bottom price.

Holiday of a lifetime

From the moment we walked into the Veranda Paul and Virginie hotel and spar the staff were so curtious and helpful we wanted for nothing. The hotel is right on the beech with facilities to do snorkelling, sailing, board surfing, wind surfing & glass bottom boat trips all included. They also have a catremaran to hire for personal use.
The two restaraunts differ as one serves buffet style food and the other serves a more refined menu, and the King prawns are a must.
The spar is also a must at this hotel the the wife used it three times.
There are various tour operators to book you on your day trips which the wife and I used for reasonable prices.

The Veranda of Paul and Virgine was incredible. It is a very cute, all-encompassing resort with very friendly staff and beautiful grounds.

After some confusion at our late night check-in regarding booking with a company called ‘Orbitz’ (perhaps they were not used to this) we were given tropical welcoming drinks and hot refresher towels.

The rooms were excellent. Views were especially nice from second floor rooms. Dinner was a good mix of curries, pickles, breads and salads. Wait staff was very friendly.

Next morning, the staff was again incredibly friendly. During breakfast one staff member enthusiastically explained all the island’s attractions on the map. Additionally a short notice laundry order was done in only hours.

The pools, beaches and grounds were immaculate. I woke up early to notice the staff was out at dawn to do maintenance.

Free WIFI and 24 hour reception.

My only regret is not staying longer.

Relaxing time

The hotel is in a quieter part of the northern region in Grand Gaube (about 1 hour by taxi from the airport, at a cost of $75 USD), which is great for unwinding and relaxing. If you want to party then Grand bay is only 10 minute drive away and the hotel taxi's will take you there and bring you home (for a fee of course). I stayed for 8 days and the hotel staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, from arrival at the hotel to departure. I was there on my own and for half of my stay found alot of the other guests were couples on honeymoon or wedding anniversay.

It was great and memorable ... Peaceful, quite and romantic. The staff were very friendly and the lobster in the St Geran restaurant on the waters edge was excellent and very romantic! Not sure the all inclusive upgrade was worth it though - there is only so much cocktails and beer one can drink while sitting by the pool! An option to upgrade to all inclusive on a daily basis would be much better, so that one can spend the day outside the hotel in good conscience ... One unfortunate negative though: wifi broadband is not only extra, but is slow ( wont be surprised if it is only 512Kb) and is only available within the small reception area. Hardly ideal to share photos!

Para ser 4 estrellas, deja bastante que desear respecto al estado y la higiene. El baño estaba un poco mal de humedad en la zona del retrete, pero lo que no consiento es que no laven los manteles y que comamos todos los días sobre la suciedad que ha dejado otra persona. Y cuando se lo recriminé no me dieron ni una explicación, además de dejarme como si me estuviera quejando por algo que no corresponde. Los embutidos se tiraban días y días en los mimos platos sin tocarse, al igual que la fruta.

Lo único que valoro mejor es que se permita estar a los perritos y se les alimente.

Richtig schönes Hotel mit eigenem Strand und Infinity Pool. Frühstücksbuffet mit eigenen Spezialitäten. Abendessen war sehr abwechslungsreich und mega lecker. An jedem Abend hat abwechslungsreiche live Musik gespielt.Das Hotel organisiert unterschiedliche Aktivitäten, wie Bootsausflug, SUP, Kajak-alles gratis. Ich kann das Hotel nur empfehlen.

Uns haben die Hunde und Katzen im Speisesaal gestört. Nach unserer Meinung ist das aus hygienischen Gründen ein Unding, noch dazu haben wohlmeinende \"Tierfreunde\" die Tiere vom Tisch mit allem, was das Menschenherz begehrt, gefüttert, sicher aber nicht dem Tierwohl dient.

Es war ein ganz toller Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Der Service war unschlagbar gut, alleine der Empfang schon mit Begrüßungsdrink und Erfrischungstuch. Dann wird man im Hotel herumgeführt. Das Essen war super und sehr abwechslungsreich, die Sauberkeit war top, der Zimmerservice war zweimal täglich da. Es werden kostenlose Aktivitäten, wie z. B. Schnorcheln anboten. Auch abends an der Bar war es super schön, die Cocktails waren top und es war immer Live-Musik da. Ganz toller Aufenthalt.

Was mir nicht gefällt: wir haben All Inclusive gebucht, müssen trotzdem bezahlen. Cocktail mit Alkohol müssen extra bezahlt werden. Wasser und Bier waren frei. Es gab keine frische Säfte. Das Buffet und Frühstücksbüffet waren jeden Tag das gleiche. Sonst war ok!

The rooms could be in better shape. Everything was a little bit old and you could see that it is not built very well.
The all inclusive package is more like a full board experience. Not all drinks an food was included and there fore it is a hustle to find the service which is included in the all inclusive. Which leads to the next point that you have to sign a bill for every meal and drink that you get. Which is totally annoying after two days.

Problème à l arrivée on est sous classé ! L accompagnatrice nous indique que c est bien la chambre retenue…vérification faite sur hôtel, com il y a une erreur rectifiée par le team manager. On a perdu une heure ! Dommage la chambre est confortable.
Le buffet n est pas au niveau des autres hôtels. Présentation mediocre, variété insuffisante des mets, desserts nuls…et des serveurs intéressés surtout par les boissons à faire consommer. Petit déjeuner moyen, pas de fruits frais. Enfin plage et piscine interessantes mais plaie récurrente des réservations par serviettes et mauvaise humeur des personnes délogées à juste titre ! La direction se contente d ecriteauxinterdisant cette pratique. On est en vacances tranquilles et non pour « se battre « pour une chaise longue…

Saman paikan Grapsoupista seuraavana iltana ruokamyrkytys.
Tyynyt huonot verrattuna samatasoisiin hotelleihin ja kapeat sängyt. Huoneessa ei kunnon pimennysverhoja.Muuten tyylikäs alue,mutta ranta kivikkoista ja vesi mutaista. Allasalue hieno.

Regarding cleanliness (cockroaches) and condition of sunbeds, mould in the bathroom, we contacted the operator of Paul & Virgine but have not received a reply to date.

We are guests in your hotel Veranda Paul &Vergine RoomNo 122, August 25th - September 2nd.
1) today at dinner we were disgusted by three cockroaches running across the floor of the dining room - furthermore 2) there is black mould in our shower which is also very unhygienic - 3) the plexiglass doors to take out the salad are broken and have to be pushed open and closed by all the guests - this is also unappetising - 4) some of the sun loungers are so broken and worn out that it hurts to lie on them - this is unfortunately not an appropriate standard either

Très beau mais accueil très froid

Après un séjour d'une semaine dans un autre Véranda (pointe aux piments) qui s'était révélé des meilleurs, nous avons poursuivi la seconde semaine à Grand Gaube. L'hôtel est très beau mais juste glacial au niveau de l'accueil du personnel. Je suis juste très très déçue par le spa - Pour info nous avions fait un massage d'une heure à pointe aux piments avec une réduction de 20 % étant membre silver. Lorsque nous avons voulu prendre rv il nous a été indiqué qu'il fallait au minimum faire un massage de 1h30 pour bénéficier de 10 % !! - Bilan : nous sommes allés à Triolet faire un massage à 4 mains de 1h30 pour le 1/3 du prix !!!! -

Un hôtel de charme avec un accueil au top

Hôtel intimiste avec deux piscines dont une à débordement et un plan d’eau au bord de l’espace restauration. Petit déjeuner avec beaucoup de choix ( chaud et froid). La plage est un peu petite. L’accueil est au top ( avec une mention pour la réception) partout : restauration, service de chambre et spa.
Une situation au calme pour profiter du nord de l’île . Je recommande sans réserve.

Zimmer, Pools, Aussicht, Essen sowie die gesamte Anlagen waren super. Die Cocktails an der Bar könnten verbessert werden sowie das Personal verstärkt. Die 2 Mann sind einfach zu wenig. Man musste meistens selbst an die Bar gehen um etwas zu trinken zu bekommen. In dem kleinen Ort Grand Gaube gibt es einige Supermärkte, Apotheken und Restaurants. Bushaltestelle ist direkt beim Hotel um nach Goodlands, Grand Baie, Port Louis etc. zu gelangen. Die Mitarbeiter waren immer sehr höflich und sehr hilfsbereit. Für Ruhesuchende das perfekte Hotel zum relaxen. Kann mit bestem Gewissen empfohlen werden.

Bra hotellresort nord på øyen

Hotellresortet var hyggelig og veldig bra vedlikeholdt. Veldig hyggelige og serviceinnstilte ansatte. Bra basseng og strandområde. Veldig langgrunt strand, som gjorde at det var veldig varmt vann, men vanskelig å svømme. Utlån av kano, pedalbåt, ståbrett, og tru meg glassbunnbåt uten kostnad. Det eneste jeg ikke likte, var at hotellet ikke gjorde noe med hånddukene folk la ut på stolene, uten å være der selv. Maten kunne ha vært litt bedre, passer best hvis du er veldig glad i buffet. Men det var mye å velge i, både til frokost, lunsj og middag. Hadde også afternoon tea, (det prøvde vi ikke) Landsbyen var ikke særlig spennende, Så en bør nok spise alt maten der.

Ihana viihtyisä hotelli etäällä kaikesta

Ihana hotelli ja sopivan kokoinen. Niin kaunis etenkin tuo infinite allas - tosin allaspaikat aurinkotuolissa välillä kortilla siinä jos ei huomaa varata paikkaansa ajoissa. Hotelli itsessään oli tosi mukava ja oli myös joka illalle musiikkia yms. iltaohjelmassa klo 23 asti.

Ainoa huono puoli oli että hotelli oli vähän kaukana kaikesta... lähellä kävelymatkan etäisyydellä ei ollut kuin pari pienen pientä kauppaa ja ei juuri muuta. Kävely alueen lähellä muutoinkin hieman haastavaa kun pitää kävellä enimmäkseen tienreunoja pitkin. Lähin isompi kaupunki n. 8 km päässä (Grand Baie). Tällä alueella ei pitkiä yhtenäisiä hiekkarantoja vaan kiviä tulee väliin.

Personnel extrêmement chaleureux et consciencieux de faire de votre séjour, un moment de bonheur.
Chambres magnifiques, vue sur piscine et lagon au top, restaurant bon, hôtel très beau de façon globale… Ce séjour a été pour nous une vraie parenthèse de détente pour notre premier grand voyage. Mais je souligne à nouveau l’implication de toutes les équipes qui prennent de vos nouvelles chaque jour, se souviennent de toutes vos conversations et ont des attentions personnalisées en bonus. Chaque membre essaye d’être le plus possible aux petits soins qui plus est d’une façon qui semble très conviviale et non « forcée ». Le SPA était lui aussi très agréable avec des tarifs attractifs par rapport à la France. Je recommande pour un séjour en couple ou entre amis.

Rund um sehr gutes Hotel

Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Das Personal ist einfach top! Super freundlich, zuvorkommend und sehr bemüht, dass es einem gut geht! Wir hatten einen tollen Ausblick und die Zimmer waren immer sauber.
Das Essen war auch immer super lecker. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist überschaubar aber vollkommen ausreichend, sodass jeder etwas findet (auch vegetarier) und qualitativ super.

Das einzige was man beachten sollte ist, dass das Hotel im Nord-Osten liegt. Das heißt zum Nationalpark oder zu Katamarantouren kann es schon mal über ne Stunde dauern. Das hat uns aber nicht gestört, weil wir uns eh einen Taxifahrer für den ganzen Tag \"gemieter\" havben.

Jeg kan kun anbefale et ophold på Veranda Paul. Udsigten udover havet er fantastisk (sørg for at betale det ekstra for hav-udsigt), personalet var altid opmærksomme og kunne endda huske hvem man var og rengøring er i top med housekeeping flere gange om dagen. Jeg kommer gerne tilbage!
