In general the property needs some care and attention. The pool was good, always clean, and serviced daily, however the surrounding terraces were a bit uneven and there were screwhwads protruding. The person in charge (owner?) was pleasant and reasonably helpful

You get what you pay for. These are a great price for space and location. They are a little tired and there's a lack of sunbeds, but overall great value for money. Beware the overspill from the clubs nearby - outside with very loud music til 6am one morning. But that's not the property's fault. The dogs are noisy but not aggressive.

The flats are next to a very busy road with morning and evening heavy traffic and next to three discos with a lot of weekend night actions and noise. The flats are spacy and awere nicely build but meanwhile lack repair and maintenance and thus appear to be rundown.

Low Cost Stay good for money

Property was as per expected / reviews etc were quite accurate - it is probably the lowest cost to stay in Grand Baie - got to say Monday the cleaner made an exceptional effort to make it as clean as possible. Property needs investment but it is good for my purpose - only issue that cant be helped is the echo from guests being amplified. Wifi - not really useful unless in reception.

We stayed at the appartement style accommodation for 15 nights and we know the location well as we lived there - here is some recommendations before you decide to book there:
Internet is only available from the lobby
For the whole stay TV was not functioning
When we mentioned to the staff about the issues the service started to be lacking. Missing towels for the bathroom - cuttlery washed negligently - bed sheets exchange not as usual. Above all difficult to sleep on Saturdays as the nightclub nearby was too noisy until 2am.

Nice location if you want to be near the beaches in Grand Bay. Otherwise somewhat inconvenient if you want to visit other parts of the island. Nice to be next door to a supermarket and across the street from a football field, too. The manager went out of his way to make my stay enjoyable, even letting me relax in my room the final day until 5 pm, since my flight out was late in the evening! There was a bit of a bug problem - not unexpected in tropical climates, really. The place was not in the best of shape, but it suited my needs and was a good bargain.

Does not reflect the marketing. Looks much better online. A/C didn’t work, sink was leaking, blinds were broken, lots of noise at night. Manager became fairly agitated when I informed him of these issues. We checked out 5 days early to avoid staying at this disappointing property.

We travelled with our young son and found GBS to be perfect for our needs. The rooms are spacious and the air conditioning works very well. All of the staff were absolutely lovely & the daily housekeeping was always prompt and very thorough. We had a small issue with our shower which was fixed so quickly. Great location next to Supermarket 2000 with a little one. Would definitely stay here again

It is time Hotel.com do serious Quality Control

I trust and I have always believed that I do not need to question whether a hotel or accommodation suggested in your wedsite (Hotel.com) would be of any fraud of any sort.

I arrived at Grand Bay Suites on the 12th January 2019 as planned. Note - I have never really given any negative feedback for the years I have used Hotel.com as my travelling guide to where I will be staying. To my horrors, all was fine until I was shown into my room. The room was not very clean to begin with, the smell of humid and dullness in the air, fine switching on the airconditioning would help, the worst came when I went into the bathroom. Excuse my words here but it was disgustingly dirty. The water outlet where you take a shower is black and you can see the thick layer that should be washed on a chromed surface. It was really bad. I was about to go to bed and the sheets were stained.

I checked out the next morning as I felt disappointed as it was not a business trip but my own personal holiday after more than 15 years not taking one. The stars that represent the status of the hotels etc, do you ever check it yourself or you simply take the feedback given with no clue whether it was true or just plain simple, there is a feedback and it should suffice. I wanted to call and thought to myself, how can I as I had no real excess to wifi as it did not exist in the room and there was no tel and no real means of communication. It was pointless to get angry with the staff. Holiday ruined.

We stayed for 2 weeks. Apartments spacious and cleaned regularly but are in need of refurbishment. Staff helpful and friendly. Short walk to local beach. Town in walking distance but pavements are in poor condition or non existent.

Stayed for three weeks in March when the weather was very good. Enjoyed staying in Grand Bay Suites which are well equiped and comfortable and suitable for couples or families with small children. Found the property to be quiet and kept clean and tidy. Good value for money.

Rooms big and clean for family of 4 - Value for money.
Quiet surrounding, nice friendly guests sharing common facilities. Can sleep late while on vacation.

Hotel didn't really have enough cooking utensils.

Hotel staff were lovely hotel was in good destination close to shops and beach. Beds were lovely and comfortable and sofa bed to. Pool was nice size. But hotel kitchen utensils were few. Tin opener was terrible couldn't open anything. Not enough pots and pans. Also no tv as it didn't work terrible signal.

There is full security and your car is safe as well. There was a bad toilet smell. We inform management and they apologize. The tv was not working properly and there is no maintenance at night but it got fix next day. The wifi not good in the room but you can have good wifi in reception area. The apartment is very nice with nice view on the balcony. Swimming pool is good and all staff are friendly. Shop is walking distance and beach. It is good value for money. Everything is clean in the kitchen and you can make whatever you want to cook.

Room allocation was improper. Even though rooms were available v were told that they can't accomodate.

U need to carry ur own luggage to the rooms n no lift is available.

Conveniently situated, comfortable and good value

Grand Bay Suites are conveniently situated about a kilometer from Grand Bay Beach towards Pereybere. There is a small supermarket next door with restaurants and night clubs a short walk away as is the lovely La Cuvette Beach. The suites are well appointed, spacious, clean and comfortable. The friendly staff are always on hand and willing to help in whatever way they can. All in all a great place to stay.

Very nice hotel close to the beaches and clubs

It's a great place to sit back and relax. The staff are wonderful and are very friendly especially Ram and Marie who would go out of their way to help out at their highest standards making to feel welcomed and comfortable. The apartment was kept clean (Prim and proper) on a daily basis by the cleaning staff and taking into account any special requests as I am a very meticulous person. In future i would personally go back in the future!

Friendly staff,while there it was not too busy,quiet atmosphere,very good value for money for grand bay.I had just stayed in flic en flac ,west of the island at the Sofitel and the Hilton and also Le sands hotel the week before,although 5 star hotels and luxurious,grand bay suites more than make it up in close to amenities,great value for money if you want to do your own thing,a bit of cooking,all rooms have balconies,you can wash your clothes,only have to buy laundry powder next door,store 2000,everything that you need.Grand bay beach is not very far south,there is a beautiful secluded beach called la cuvette a km away,pereybere is not far either,but if you want an unspoilt and very private beach,la cuvette is the place.

Excellent stay, with minor issues...

The room was very neat and clean. We experienced a few minor issues, some of which were resolved during our stay. These issues included not receiving linen for the sleeper couch even though we made it known beforehand that this would be required. However, upon requesting such, we were provided with the linen. The aircon in the bedroom did not work, so we simply opened the balcony door for a breeze whenever required. This aircon was not repaired during our stay. The aircon in the lounge area worked perfectly though, but was not adequate to cover both areas. The wifi signal in the room was poor, so we sat on the balcony whenever we required better wifi connectivity!

The rooms were serviced daily, with towels replaced, etc. The kitchen had mismatched crockery, but this was not a problem for us.

All in all, an excellent self catering stay, which we hope to visit again in due course!

My stay at Grand Bay suites was excellent. The hotel reception in the evenings was very helpful and assisted me to obtain a taxi and best prices for tour guides.
I cannot remember his name but he always works during the night shift.
I would recommend his service and the new security employed evenings as excellent and hope management at Grand Bay recognise them for always going the extra mile to assist clients and there sincere dedication and loyalty to there work.
We were also very impressed with the cleaner who cleaned our room very neat.
Grand Bay suites should consider having some entertainment for kids and adults such as table tennis or a pool table.

Lovely apartments in great location.

We stayed here for 16 very enjoyable nights. The apartments are very spacious & airy. The kitchen is well equipped, but some sort of container with a lid for storing sugar would be useful as I always feel that open bags of sugar will attract all sorts of creepy crawlies!! We went & bought our own container at the supermarket so no big deal. Talking of supermarkets, there is one right next door which sells everything you might need.
Grand Bay Suites are in a nice quiet location, about a 15 - 20 minute stroll into the centre of Grand Baie & about 10 - 15 minute stroll to La Cuvette beach.
It is a good idea to hire a car to get out & about but I wouldn't recommend Port Louis unless you like traffic jams & horns honking!! Mont Choisy & Trou Aux Biches are beautiful beaches.
The wifi is very poor! We kept being disconnected which was very frustrating. We run a business & we rely on good internet connection to deal with any queries we get but it was virtually impossible to send a quick email without being disconnected about 10 times!!
Expedia give the location of Grand Bay Suites as Perybere, but they are not in Perybere. Perybere is close by but saying that GBS are there can be misleading & give the impression of being further from Grand Baie centre than they actually are.
We stayed in June/July and had quite good weather considering that it is winter in Mauritius but it can get very windy, so advisable to pack a light jacket or something similar.

We had trouble finding the place. The street sign was not prominent at all (it was faded to almost completely white).
It is next to Store 2000 which is a well stocked grocery store.

Very good and they were all very friendly and helpful, especially Nicholas.. The hotel was a little out of the main area which was good because it was quiet. It only takes 10 mins to walk. The room was spacious and you had cooking facilities, etc. The only small thing that could improve was there was no dishcloth or scourer and a couple of tea and coffee sachets would have been useful for people only staying a short time. Would certainly recommend Bay Suites to anyone going to Grand Bay. The place is hard to find in the night, let the taxi know it is next to a supermarket, ? 2000 and the phone number given is not the hotels but the booking agents in Grand Bay.

The apartments were very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Bus stops are close nearby, so just take the bus to Grand Baie center, to the beaches, or even to the capital Port Louis, and safe a lot of money for taxi transfers. Very comfortable: The supermarket just around the corner offers everything you need. We can recommend Grand Baie suites, it is a perfect accommodation.

Apartment overbooked on our first night and had to be relocated elsewhere.
Noisy pool pump runs all day.
Pool chemicals added to the pool during the pool opening times
The town of Grand Bay, so don't stay here more than a few days, move down to the West coast.
The apartment complex layout, we felt a bit overlooked by the other guests.
Washing room has only one washing machine.

Our family stayed at Grand Baie Suites over December. The apartments are very neat and comfortable and the staff attentive and helpful. The pool is also a blessing. Grand Baie itself is not too far to walk to but the busses are cheap and regular.
The grocery store is very close by and has everything. Would recommend the place

Nice place to stay a while

The apartments are situated around 10 minutes from Grand Bay beach and the centre of town. Located right next to it is a small and very convenient superstore (Store 2000) that is open till 7pm every day (apart from Sunday where most things close at 1pm). There is a hypermarket called Super U about 15-20 minutes walk from it where you can get all you need including souvenirs for less. The building is new, clean and well maintained - apartments are cleaned daily. The apartments include air conditioning, flat screen TV, equipped kitchen and balcony plus 24-hour security/reception. Staff were also friendly and helpful.
There are quite a few restaurants (Chinese, American, French etc) within short walking distance so don't be coerced by security into being taken to a 'traditional' restaurant by car and getting ripped off.
For excursions and trips around the country ask for Grand Bay Travel & Tours (GBTT) who are based in the centre of town and are very good way to get to see the country by group or individual tours. It is worth haggling! If you are heading to Port Louis however, I would recommend the Express bus which costs 35 rupees and leaves every half an hour from opposite the GBTT office (avoid Sundays as most places are closed or close by midday).
Overall, minus the geckos- which is nature's fault, the stay in Grand Bay Suites was excellent and I would recommend it.

Sono stata in questa struttura nel 2012/13 e la gestione era ottima. Il manager di allora era organizzato e disponibile e tutti i servizi funzionavano. Ora gennaio/febbraio 2024, la struttura necessita di manutenzione e il personale, in particolare il manager è inadeguato su ogni aspetto di ospitalità.

Lieu sale, sable et poussière mais le comble punaises de lit sur la tête de lit qui nous ont piqués à plusieurs reprises et nous obligeant à quitter les lieux à 22h pour trouver un autre hôtel en urgence. Le gérant n’a rien voulu entendre le lendemain malgré nos piqûres et constat. Pour lui pas de problème tout est nickel …

Tout le personnel d’une bienveillance comme il en existe de moins en moins en France… un accueil chaleureux qui s’est poursuivi durant nos 3 semaines au sein du GBS !
Le logement, les parties communes et la piscine sont tout comme sur les photos, superbes !
Le aussi c’est les conseils et les préparations pour des excursions en fonction de nos centres d’intérêts!
Bref nous reviendrons certainement ici et c’est avec le « coeur gros » que nous avons quitté ce lieu et son personnel !

De accomodatie is goed. Als je niet verwacht dat ze naast de strand ligt (voor ons prima)
Zwakke punten zijn WiFi (allen op terras en bij het zwembad - maar we waren verwittigd) en het arm aanbod op tv.
Voor de rest zijn we tevreden.

Ce qui est bien ,le balcon qui donne sur la piscine,la grandeur de l' appartement,l'organisation des excursions,le service,la literie.
Ce qui n'est pas bien ,le coin cuisine pas tres propre,un rafraîchissement de l' appartement serait bien,pas de wifi dans la chambre.
Nous avions choisi cette reservation en fonction de la note qui pour nous n'est pas justifiee.

와이파이가 로비에서만 사용하는게 불편했어요
이불상태는 이곳이 제일 깨끗했어요
다른곳에서 자보니 잠자리는 이곳이 그립네요
시설들은 낡았어요 고장난 것들도 많구요
그런데 생활하는데 불편함은 없어요

Wir sind früh angekommen und konnten gleich in unser Appartement. Ebenso durften wir am Abeisetag bis zur Abholung im Appartement bleiben. Vielen Dank nochmals dafür!

Nous avons aimer l'emplacement la gentillesse et la disponibilité du personnel les jardins mais le mobilier autour de la piscine aurait besoin d'être changé et l'appartement manque un peu d'âme contrairement aux photos

Very nice and relaxing stay

Very clean and nice hotel within walking distance to Grand Bay's centrum and it's great beaches. Very nice staff, always polite, happy and there for you. The hotel is very quiet with relaxing sounds of birds and the fountain. The apartmentneeds a refurbishment, but still was comfy with a great view of nature and pool. We enjoyed, thank you!

Schön grosses Apartment mit Küche, aber innert 5 Tagen fiel 3x das Wasser aus, was für die Gäste ärgerlich und unangenehm war.
Gute Lage in Fussdistanz zu Restaurants und Strand.

Preis-Leistung ist ok

Das Hotel liegt nicht in einer Wohngegend, sondern etwas versteckt neben einigen Discos & einem Supermarkt.
Die Unterkunft an sich ist schön, jedoch etwas in die Jahre gekommen & nicht so gut gepflegt. Man findet an einigen Stellen Schimmel und es riecht sehr modrig. Deshalb haben wir uns nicht wirklich wohl gefühlt.
Für den günstigen Preis kann man vielleicht nicht mehr erwarten. Wir würden das nächste Mal lieber ein bisschen tiefer in die Tasche greifen.

Séjour très sympathique

Très bon séjour dans cet appartement hôtel qui est propre et personnels très accueillants.
L’appartement est très grand et la cuisine suffisamment équipée.
Proche de Grand Baie et d’une plage très sympathique La cuvette où l’on peut y manger raisonnablement. Un Market est juste à côté de l’hotel très pratique et l’arret de bus à 50 m.
Seul bémol les boites de nuit le samedi soir.
Très bon rapport qualité prix

Casa spaziosa e completa di tutto,come descritto sul sito,a 10 min dal grazioso centro paese e a 300m dalla COUVETTE,una piccola ma splendida spiaggia.Ottime le pulizie e il cambio di asciugamani giornaliero.Tutta la struttura è ben tenuta e pulita.Ottima e in caso anche molto utile la presenza per tutta la notte di un membro del personale all'ingresso. Possibilità di prenotare,ed ottenere informazioni sulle escursioni in loco.Consiglio di affidarsi alla GBTT ed in particolare a Toula,per informazioni e prenotazioni in tutta sicurezza,si
a di macchine che di escursioni.I prezzi a mio avviso sono molto buoni.

Appartement très propre et piscine irréprochable

Hotel à deux pas du supermarché et à 600 mètres de la plage. Un peu excentré du centre ville pour ceux qui ne sont qu'à pied. J'ai testé la conduite à gauche. Facile!

Nice Little Hotel ...

The Team and the Hotel are quite nice. Rooms are pretty large. Public beaches are 10 min away, but more quiet beaches are hard to arrive by walk. I think this is one of the most comfortable Hotels in Grand baie.
