Excellent manager in Richard who always goes out of his way to make your stay enjoyable. The cleaning lady took good care of us.
The accommodation is spacious, however we feel the owner needs to invest more money in the property to fully utilise its potential.

We have just returned from two lovely weeks at La Pointe Villas, and would book to stay here again in a heartbeat.

We stayed in the 4 bed property which was as pictured, kept clean by the daily maid service in good working order. Any issues are swiftly dealt with and sorted. The pool was divine and in such a lovely setting, being off the main road also means it is quiet.

It is the perfect base to explore, with beautiful beaches within walking distance and a nearby corner shop as well as a few spots to eat. The big supermarket is in about 6k away - a short and cheap bus journey or a quick drive if you have your own car. The kitchen was full of useful bits for self catering which was really helpful.

Richard was a fabulous host, who was always available to chat, he sorted transfers and tours for us and was just what we needed for our first time on the island. Nothing was too much trouble for him and we really appreciated all his help and knowledge.

Great and amazing property manager (Richard) made the stay like we were at home.
Apartment is enough for a family of four with no issues. Cleaned every other day and we were able to get our clothes washed for a very good price.
Please note that this is a self-catered apartment, but there is a small grocery store nearby with a small stall for fresh fruits and Mauritian breakfasts.

We really enjoyed our stay at La Pointe Villas. Richard (the owner) was there to greet us on our arrival and our departure (which was 5 am), and to assist with the suitcases. There was secure parking inside the property. The room was cleaned every day and nothing was too much trouble for Richard and his staff who were very friendly. The pool was spotless and the garden was lovely as well.
Richard does offer dinners as an extra so if you feel like staying at the apartment and having dinner on your private patio overlooking the pool, it's very enjoyable.
Highly recommend these apartments.

In general the place is good.
But some things should be improved like the water temperature in the shower is not constant, animals get in the room because there is no insect screen on the windows. I found a lizard and 2 gross huge cockroaches.
I didn’t know that housekeeping doesn’t provide more than one toilet paper roll and that I had to buy it.
The hairdryer can’t be used because the plug doesn’t fit in any socket but fine since it’s summer you can let your hair dry itself. The mattress is too hard for me but I didn’t have any back pain so it’s good.
The area is quiet and feels safe.

Fantastic!

From arrival to departure everything was perfect. The little kitchenette had everything I needed for snacks and meals, the bed was comfortable, the size of the room was good with sitting areas too. Every room has either a balcony or terrace and the pool area was really pretty with ample sun beds. The closest beach, Mon Choisy is 15 mins walk away and is large with incredible sunsets. It’s a 30-40 min walk to Grand Baie. If you have a car then perfect. If not, there is a bus stop close and the owner will help with making any arrangements for a taxi or tour. This hotel truly was a wonderful find and the care I received could not have been greater. Thank you!

Nice hotel about 15 minutes walking to Mont choisy

We had two rooms with two bathrooms appartment so it was quite spacious, rooms were clean with everyday cleaning service, swimming pool is usually not used by anyone so it is almost entirely for you, but every a couple of minutes it makes a strange 'noise' because of sucking the water so we had to close the windows during the night in order to sleep well. The electric fence helps the guest to feel safely. Mont choisy beach is about 15minutes walking time away. Wifi in the apartments is almost not working, we had huge difficulties to be connected and finally we used our own router. At the swimming pool wifi is better but not always stable.

A home from home

The 3 bedroom villa was located about 10 minutes from local beaches. It was on a quiet road which felt central to local amenities. The villa offered great accommodation for our family needs with terrace, garden, pool and tennis court. It was extremely clean and serviced daily. Staff were very friendly.
We really enjoyed our stay which was very relaxing and would definitely recommend to family and friends.
The villa position also felt private with parking and safe.

The location is very good for local facilities and accessibility to the excellent public beach Mont Choisie, only some 10 minutes walk away. I recommend for a local bar/restaurant 'Selfish' where the local owner Clive, his barman Stephane, and the excellent chefs producing top quality creole cuisine, will make you feel very welcome. Also some 5 minutes walk away is a very good quality French boulangerie/patisserie and down the street facing onto it a French charcuterie. If you do not have a car the bus service to Grande Baie, and beyond on the western coast of the North, is cheap and regular. As well as exciting because of the Formula 1 skills of the drivers. But the location would not be worthwhile without the friendliness and welcome of the staff at La pointe Villas, in neat, very clean, and well kept grounds. I needed to take taxis on a few occasions during my stay and this was just one of many ways in which staff went out of their way to be helpful, with someone even going out into the vicinity on one occasion to find a taxi for me, when a taxi I had lined up was otherwise occupied. Jean-Paul, and Namashk who cleaned my room, in particular impressed me by their friendliness and concern to make my stay a memorable one, as well as a young man working with Jean-Paul whose name I am afraid I have forgotten. I would recommend the establish to anyone and plan to return there.

We had an excellent stay at La Pointe Villas. The staff were very helpful and friendly. One morning I went to the bakery and when I was ready to go back to the hotel my rental car would not start. I walked back to La Pointe Villas and one of the staff immediately went to get his tool kit and took me back to the bakery to help me start my car. So nice.

We also enjoyed our view of the garden every morning while eating our breakfast outside.

My wife,daughter and myself believe we chose well.
A quiet place which was secure and had all the amenities of independence and convenience for us.
Through out our stay the manager was discreet yet very hospitable. Suited out need for a quiet space of our own away from crowds of tourists.
A short walk away from Mon Choisy and a bus ride to other beaches. Don't really need a car, unless you intend travelling to other parts of the island.
Thanks to Monsieur Jean Piere for a comfortable stay.

We arrive late night flight, so asked to arranged an airport transfer by the hotel. So the Check in welcome was fine.
The location is very good with some nice shops catering more for local residents. Buses to Grand Baie are frequent too.

Absolutely stunning Villas.

We stayed at the Villas for just short of 2 weeks. We were a family of 6. We had a lovely holiday and the accommodation was perfect for us. My 3 children some days didn't want to go to the beach they just wanted to swim in the Villas pool. Mr Wong and his staff did a exceptional job to make sure we were comfortable and most importantly happy. The units are serviced daily and anything we needed or required Jean Paul and staff assisted. We will defiantly be retiring. Thank You Mr Wong and all Staff al La Pointe Villas for making our stay a memorable one.

La Pointe Villas is charming and well run, well staffed by well trained and hospitable people. Any issues are immediately addressed by the owner. His staff wrapped the palm tree trunks with Xmas tinsel to the delight of the children, and the owner gave each guest a watermelon on Xmas day.
Clean, serviced even on Xmas day, air-conditioned, reliable wi fi. This is a place I will certainly visit again.

Hotel was very comfortable, clean, secure, and walking distance to the best beach on Mauritius (Mont Choisy) and a wonderful bakery for morning coffee, fresh bread and pasteries! Secure parking for your car too. Best beach because it had no waves with soft white sand and crystal blue water. The neighborhood is very calm but has local stores, restaurants and bars right next door to get all your essentials and more. Very short drive to Grand Baie for nightlife.

The only thing that would rate this hotel/apartment higher is if there was air conditioning in the living/dining room. There was A/C in each bedroom so we just cranked up the A/C during the day and left the bedroom doors open to cool the rest of the apartment. Great place overall.

Very clean and we'll maintained. Th villas are well equipped with all you need for a self catering stay. Close to Mont Choisy public beach which is one of the best in Mauritius. My only issue was that the villa only had air conditioning downstairs..... It needs it! Everything else was great.

The unit served our purposes well. It has everything you need for a laid-back self-catering holiday and a pool at the doorstep is a bonus. Set on a quiet street, guests can get an authentic taste of village life in Mauritius with a well-stocked grocery shop just around the corner, along with a few restaurants and upmarket apparel stores. It's also on a convenient bus route (10 minutes to Grande Baie).
The main beach (Mon Choisey) is a 10 minute walk, so it's not on your doorstep but no great inconvenience either. If it's purely sea, sun and sand you want then perhaps look for something closer to the beach. Otherwise these villas are absolutely fine and good value for money.

Good value apartment in a central location near Grand Baie and public beaches. The kitchen is very well equipped so ideal for families. Very quiet and peaceful location.
Close to bus stop, but a vehicle is recommended since there is no activity near-by at night.
Nice tennis court and swimming pool as well.
There is only 1 bathroom in the 3-bedroom villa, and you have to provide your own toiletries.

A hide out at La Pointe Villas!

The reception was good. The surrounding was superb and very clean. It was a quiet place. The guy in charge was helpful despite his limitation in the English language. I suppose it would have been perfect if my wife and I understood/spoke French fluently and vice versa.
Overall I would highly recommend any other person or couple or indeed family to stay at Le Pointe Villas

I had been to Mauritius in the last week of July, 2014 with my wife. We wanted to spend some quiet time & visit some tourist places during the stay. George, the owner, was constantly in touch with us before & during the stay, making sure our stay was comfortable. George also helped us and arranged with the pick-up & drop to the airport. Mr. Bim had come down to pick up and drop us. One day Mr. Bim showed us around the local places of attraction & we had a great time, thanks to him!

La Pointe Villas is located in a very quiet area in Pointe Aux Cannoniers, North Mauritius. There is a small supermarket nearby for your daily needs. La Pointe Villas had provided us with a complimentary breakfast, so we could settle down & buy stuff at leisure. Jean Paul, the Manager, was pleasant & checked up upon us regarding our needs time to time. The kitchenette is very well planned and has all essential vessels, utensils, electric hot stove, refrigerator, microwave oven. Decent Wi-Fi speeds, without any issues.

There is a bus stop near mini supermarket from which one can board buses bound to Grand Baie, where there are beautiful beaches and most travel/tour planners. Super U in Grand Baie, is a big supermarket, akin to Target, Tesco, Spar/Auchan in other countries.

Mauritian people are warm and welcoming and we had a great experience in Mauritius. We plan to visit Mauritius in near future and I would definitely stay at La Pointe Villas again!

we were 3 adults and an infant & we stayed in the villa from 18th till the 24th of aug 2014.. since we had hired a self drive, we drove directly form the airport. good motorway and fairly simple route took us straight to grande baie. once there it just took us a lil help form the local shop to find this villa. have to add that the locals are very very helpful. once there.. the caretaker jean paul was very friendly and did his best to solve any problems/issues that we faced..

our villa had two bedrooms(with attached small balcony), and a bathroom on the 1st floor and living room with kitchenette on the ground. the villas looked bigger in the pics though, especially the bedrooms, but since we were mostly out the whole day exploring the island, the lack of space in the bedroom never became an issue for us. we realized that the villas complex to the right of the road look bigger and had bigger balconies but i guess they were all 3bedroom ones there.

we had a pool also to our disposal but since it was quite chilly in the morning and evenings, we hardly ever used it.. the kitchenette was good with sufficient cookware and cutlery. the living room had 5 seater caned type sofa, since the place had stairs we mostly used the 3seater sofa to block the access.. later realized that a place with stairs is not an ideal place for 1.5yrs old's as it became quite difficult controlling even when we stayed in the villas for very less time.

Its beautiful place, a lovely pool and we felt right at home. Thanks George.. If we went back to Mauritius (which i hope we do) its definitely where we'd stay. I stayed here with my family. A nice/short 5/7min walk from the amazing Mont Choisy beach. and just the right amount of amenities near by, Russian Hut, Roots, Momo Supermarket and there was also a lovely bakery/patisserie down the road.

We really enjoyed our stay at La Pointe Villa. Our three bedrooms bungalow was spacious and comfortable for the five of us. The beach is just 10 minutes walk from the hotel and there are many restaurants and a supermarket nearby, so It was easy for us to cook and eat in when we wanted. The location is perfect for exploring Grand bay or even the rest of Mauritius Island. The Owner, Mr. Georges is very welcoming and will suggest you some interesting activities and tours to add to your program. I will recommend this place to anyone who want a quiet place with the feeling of being in your own place.

LaPointe Villas - Fantastic place and staff

We booked this stay through Expedia at a very competitive rate for a weeks stay in Mauritius. Not knowing anything about the island we were a bit apprehensive. However the manager George arranged a taxi for us in advance saving us about 30% with a driver who spoke good English and we later used him for additional transport.

The facilities at the villa provided the basic things we needed. Note this is not advertised as a 5-star accommodation. It does however represent excellent value for money. Having seen one or two negative reviews I can only suggest that people need to get a reality check my parents stayed at a 5 * hotel but paid four times the price that we did but they were cosseted and didn't mix with any of the locals at all.

George was very helpful, I can't praise him highly enough and took good care to ensure that we weren't ripped off. I was able to book a dolphin watching trip at 60% of the cost of one from elsewhere. When my daughter hurt her leg, he even provided a wheelchair, very thoughtful.

I stayed here with my family. First, I thought it was remote- but I realised it was bang on the hot-spot near Mont Choisy beach and close to M1 motorway + a new shopping mall. Great location. Paul, who's the apartment carer was great. He has stories to tell. Very friendly guy and always willing to help. There is a lovely Italian place called 'Roots' right behind. Have breakfast or lunch by the garden. Its great and the owner is friendly. There is 'momo shop' if you want to stock your fridge with stuff. My only feedback is that the beds were very hard.

Great place for a family vacation

Excellent place for an extended family vacation in Mauritius. Villas were well maintained and very clean. Free Wi-Fi was a welcome bonus. Kitchenette was fully equipped with all amenities - fridge, microwave, coffee and tea maker, electric stove and a good amount of cooking utensils. The pool was small but very clean. Mont choisy beach is about 15 mins walking distance. Shops and restaurants close by, however all shops would close by 8pm. Paul is the caretaker and he helped us with planning our day trips, arranging for taxis. A big thank you to him for making our stay so comfortable.

Truly excellent villas

We chose this accommodation for our honeymoon as we were on a budget. having said this, the stay really surpassed all expectations & would recommend for all types of traveller, whatever the budget.

Firstly, all the staff were amazing. Mauritian hospitality is famous, but the first class, personal and friendly help received could not be bettered anywhere. The manager Paul believes in providing the best stay possible, showing off the best Mauritius has to offer with practical advice second to none. He helped us organise tours, activities & meals, usually off the beaten track &/or at a fraction of the price it would have been if organised in the UK.

Secondly, the villas were always in pristine condition on arriving home. They were light & airy with plenty of space. These are self catering villas, which suited us perfectly as we had the choice to eat out in local restaurants, cook or order takeaway to be delivered -it was completely up to us. The grounds & swimming pool were kept in an equally superb condition.

The villas were not directly on the high street, but within 2mins walk of the shops here and 5mins walk to Mont Choisy beach. the bus service is amazing & on advice took short hops to Grande Baie, Port Louis & Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens; all easily accessible.

Thank you all very much for an absolutely amazing & memorable honeymoon. We hope to visit Mauritius again and will look no further for accommodation.

Quiet pleasant and secure villas in small village

Staff could not have been more helpful and caring. Freely giving assistance and local advice. As a lone traveller this made me feel cared for and safe. The venue was clean and quiet ideal for the rest en route back home which for me was ideal. Access to public transport was fun M.Paul even escorted me on the 1st few occasions until I got the hang of it. Within distance of the beach and not far from a bigger town for shopping and sight seeing.

Even though I grew up in Mauritius, I was keen to chose our accommodation based on independent reviews. Used Tripadvisor which had great reviews for La Pointe Villas. It was so ideal that we would definitely stay there on our next trip to visit relatives. Rooms and pool are cleaned very well on a daily basis. All staff are friendly and always willing to help. Not having a washing machine was a bonus as our maid also provides a handy 24 hour laundry service (at a reasonable rate). I travelled with my wife, 3 children (2, 4, 6) and my mother in law. We did have a car but you could get away without one since there is a small shop, bus stop and a choice of restaurants on the doorstep. Paul will help you with your every need (whether recommending restaurants with discounts or providing an alternative, mobile BBQ and all utensils). He was even up at 05h15 to see us off yesterday!

Home Away from Home

The property is really nice and surprisingly well maintained. Our host Paul was really nice and helped us in every possible way he could. We were also provided Barbecue grill on request. Overall our stay was really comfortable and pleasant. The only thing that troubled us during our stay at the Villas was WiFi connectivity. The connectivity is really bad inside the rooms. However if the connection was tried outside (within the vicinity of La Pointe Villas) there seemed to be no problem using the net. Overall good and safe property to stay at.

El Perfecto !

This was one of the most perfect places that I have stayed on in any of my trips. The Villa was beautiful and exceptionally maintained. The pool is also maintained daily. Security arrangements are top notch. The amenities provided are complete and it is almost like staying in the comfort of your house and enjoying a great vacation. Mr. Paul, who was looking after the property was truly awesome with his sense of commitment (and humor). Lot of beaches and recreational places are close by. Mont Choisy beach is 5 minutes walking distance. Recommend this property over any 5-Star hotel any day!

Nice base for our holiday

Stayed here for a week. La Point Villas provided nice accommodation in a good location. Beach only a short walk, restaurants and small shops close by. Grand Baie is just a few minutes drive way, providing more facilities and easy access to the motorway to explore the further afield on the island. Paul was always around on site to answer queries and helpfully was able to arrange for us to keep our room well into the afternoon on our last day.

GREAT LOCATION AT GREAT PRICE IN PRIME MAURITIUS BEACH AREA

La Pointe Villas was a nice, quiet hotel in a very good neighborhood near one of Mauritius' prime beach areas. The owner/manager was very kind, courteous and helpful. The room was well organized, comfortable and clean, and the kitchenette was well equipped. There was WIFI access as well, and a small swimming pool.

The only drawbacks were no phones in the room, and no reception other than the owner/manager's personal residence at the back of the property. On a positive note, he readily allowed me to use his office computer to check on my flight..

I would highly recommend this hotel to others, and would stay there again myself.

Un superbe séjour à la Pointe Villas, de l'espace dans le logement, la piscine pour se rafraîchir, le court de tennis pour échanger quelques balles et une position nickel pour aller barboter à la plage de Mont Choisy juste à côté!!!

Struttura con un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo situata in zona strategica tra le più belle spiagge dell'isola.
Il titolare Richard si fa in quattro per soddisfare tutte le esigenze degli ospiti ed è di una rara simpatia e professionalità. Anche le signore delle pulizie sono molto attente e cordiali. Camere spaziose con tutti i comfort all'interno di una bellissima villa con piscina e bei giardini curati. The staff was very friendly and service minded. The room was nice and clean, and the area outside next to the pool was pretty with lots of flowers etc. we were very happy for picking this place to stay in our holiday.
