Second time staying that Trou au Biches and it is still a great and beautiful faculty.

But the staff could be friendlier. We noticed many times that the staff will take forever to get back to us. And I hated how we were always neglected compared to other tables. When you are a Black family, it makes you wonder if your treatment is because of your color and that is extremely unpleasant to experience such.

A beautiful beach resort with several dining options and very friendly and welcoming staff. The breakfast buffet had a large selection and was located just next to the beach for easy access. The resort was like a botanical garden and the beach was clean, easily accessed and not too busy. We stayed in a refurbished 3 bedroom villa with pool which was stunning. We had a personal contact, Kamlesh, who helped us with restaurant reservations, taxis and snorkelling. The latter is offered free by the hotel. He even drove us to a local supermarket to get supplies which was very kind and much appreciated. We had the most amazing stay and would highly recommend it to anyone.

A beautiful resort. All staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely. Beach was clean and safe. Sundowners watching the sunset each evening were fab. We played padel and tennis. I would recommend that you reduce the padel price for guests who have their own rackets and balls which we did. We had a lovely holiday, thank you.

Fantastic resort, amazing food and restaurants, nice people. I recommend this resort in Mauritius for families and couples to relax and enjoy a nice view of the beach. The resort offers a huge space in the rooms with comfortable beds. The breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant are fantastic with a big variety of food. The drinks are not included in the half board. I recommend the Italian restaurant for a nice dinner. If you like tennis, they have a lot of tennis courts available, however you should buy the balls. I suggest you bring your own balls to avoid this cost. The spa is not included in the price as well. The resort has a nice gym with new equipment and a sauna inside of the change rooms. I enjoyed my stay, and I could meet with the management team who were stars.

The hotel is amazing. Beautiful food at the buffets and restaurants. Some of the best I’ve had at a buffet service. Beach is beautiful.

Staff are lovely and helpful. David & Mr V at the scuba place are amazing and so good at alleviating fear for first timers and making it a great experience.

Not a slight as the hotel, but be careful if booking the hooneymoon option through hotels.com. The website doesn’t allow you to select package and so on arrival we were told we had only be booked as breakfast only. The system isn’t great and certainly not clear. We had to pay additional £££ for a 9 night stay to upgrade to half board, which is what we thought we had booked anyway! Long story, I’d say go direct if you’re staying here as honeymooners.

An amazing hotel with wonderful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for organising our anniversary dinner in La Carvelle restaurant and to Pravest for waiting on us that evening. Roshan the driver for being an amazing guide for the day. Then there were Yasmin, Sanjay, Dasmuth, Jocelyn and Busgeet (hope I haven’t missed anyone) at the beach bar who were so cheerful and looked after us so well. Thank you to all other staff - too many to mention but you were amazing.

Lovely stay, although not cheap, especially the buffet restaurant where quality, choice and standard not quite up to that of a 5* resort hotel. I did give feedback and suggested on demand cooking with a 'stir fry' station & making crispy fried duck in pancakes on demand, as left cold with very little duck inside.
This hotel does not cater for B&B well, with very few snacks available other than room service if a full evening meal wasn't needed.
Indian buffet was excellent, and would expect it with the Indian staff as were the 'a la carte' restaurants.
Scuba centre very well maintained, although considerably more expensive than those on the beach, but convenient.
Grounds wonderfully maintained with each hub of rooms having their own heated pool, taking pressure off the main pool.
Spa lovely, but again expensive, and with a cold swimming pool - better to heat during their winter period.

We had a lovely stay, however we booked the room using the honeymoon option on Expedia. We assumed this meant all inclusive, as if you selected the room saying “honeymooners only” it no longer gave you the option to add all inclusive as it did on the other rooms. We were very disappointed to find this was not the case on arrival. The hotel staff just told us we should have booked with them directly. However the hotel was beautiful.

Lovely beach hotel

Lovely hotel and a great beach. Stayed in a tropical junior suite and it’s spacious enough for 2 adults and a teenager. Bathroom is great and there is also an outside shower.
Breakfast is varied and the area is kept spotless (such an improvement compared to Constance Belle Mare).
We had dinner at Caravelle and Blue Ginger, all very nice. Lunch was at La Plage and it’s good. Beach service is efficient.

Hotel staff wasn’t so helpful or collaborative and in some times nervous expect Yeshta and Aly ….. I arrived to the hotel and was booking a Romantic dinner so I tried to push it from 7 and there was resistance till finally the hotel staff collaborated …. The AC in my room was broken for 2 days with repeated replies from the reception that they will send some one to fix it which came after 2 days of my stay after reaching out to the duty manager, also to be fair after this l, I was offered a room change but this is after 2 days of my stay ….. during check out I found that they added 2 invoices one for mini bar and one for a drink at restaurant with of 2210 MR which is almost 50 USD and I had to check this with the reception and ask for the receipts signed by me specially in the restaurant and they couldn’t find it so they removed the amount …. Please be careful specially with the final bill

Truly stunning hotel with beautiful rooms, an outdoor shower which I loved, great facilities, including a fantastic gym with all the equipment you’d expect, lots of complimentary watersports like SUP, waterskiing, windsurfing, etc.

Excellent resort with great service and lots of activities included. Shameem and Ahmad were particularly helpful throughout our stay.

10/10 breakfast buffet with fresh crepes, breads, omelettes cooked in front of you etc.

You can use kayaks, paddle boards, pedal boats etc. all free from the boat house while you stay at the resort. We were also given one free activity to pick from as a honeymoon gift (diving experience, free meal in the Indian restaurant or massage at the spa)

Even when you check out, they encourage you to spend the day at the resort!

Nice beach, rooms seemed a bit outdated but still nice, hotel area has nice vegetations. Service was really good - really attentive and actually caring to solve problems. On the downside, the food in the restaurants is disappointing and there were tons of kids screaming and running around the beach and pool which made our stay less enjoyable (of course it’s not adults only so you know that but the fact that neither parents or hotel staff would ask kids / families to be more quiet was quite frustrating)

The beach is stunning. The grounds are spotless. Water sports club is amazing. In general staff are very friendly but the service is incredibly slow and not massively helpful. We stayed B&B and very glad we did as delicious food in local restaurants a 5 min walk away and literally a quarter of the price. In the hotel we purchased a small plastic bottle of water & Diet Coke (warm) and it cost nearly £10!

Would highly recommend if you like the beach and water sports as most are included.

Great hotel, with good restaurants. The beach is amazing and you can easily enjoy snorkeling on your own. We enjoyed beach amenities like kayaking and waterskiing which was super cool.
The hotel is huge so depending where your room is, you’ll have to walk few min to go to the restaurant/main amenities- and I can guess that during high season it can be super crowded.
We were a bit disappointed by the service & staff which as some points was not always 5* standard (compared to a similar hotel we stayed just before)

Very beautiful property. One thing that my husband and I completely disliked was that the beach was open to public people/locals. Lots of locals were trying to sell you things over and over again. No privacy or relaxation. For people that want piece and quite this hotel is defiantly not for you. For dinner guys have to wear pants otherwise they won’t let you dine, my husband wasn’t prepared for that, he only had 1 pair of jeans that he brought with him, So he had to wear them over and over again. Everything else was very nice. Nice rooms, beautiful main infinity pool. Food was okaiesh, good breakfast and French restaurant everything else below average.

Stunning beautiful resort

Trou Aux Biches Beachcomber redort is the prettiest, friendliest high end resort I have ever stayed in. It more than lived up to my expectations. We stayed in ghe Senior Beach Front Suite which was beautiful. Pool is not heated but gets hot sunbathing on your own deck that you soon enjoy dipping in to cool off. La Caravelle restaurant was our favourite place for breakfast and lunch. Menon looked after us so well he deserves a special mention. Italian resaurant our favourite in the evening. Two of the 6 rectangular swimming pools are heated one was near our room so we enjoyed a morning swim before breakfast. The resort is emaculately kept. Very attractive. I love to walk along in the sea and the only draw back at low tide times was the amount of broken coral along the beach. Luckily you could wait for tide to just come in a bit while sunbathing on the beach front. Hawkers are very respectful and if you say no thank you they accrpt it anx wish you a good day. Love love loved this resort.

I've stayed at a few 'honeymoon' locations, and sadly this was the worst I've ever stayed at. The location itself is great - but the service is very poor. The food is awful, and it's ridiculously expensive - £10 for a can of Coke Zero when you can go down the road and get it for £1. The staff aren't helpful, nor as friendly as at other resorts. I'd strongly suggest you stay elsewhere, as other people have confirmed.

Amazing Experience, we stayed at this hotel for 10 nights and loved every bit of it. The views from the swimming pool alone are breathtaking. Hotel is very well managed and maintained.

All the staff we came across were very friendly and accommodating. Special mentions for Vimmi, Rishi & Andy ( Sports Center ), each one of these staff members went out of their way to ensure an exceptional service was delivered.

We booked several tours to explore Mauritius, the hotel also had planned events throughout the week. We absolutely loved the Beautiful Lights event amongst the many we attended.

Don't be shy to ask what services the hotel has to offer and you will be surprised.

This hotel was 10 mins walk away from plenty of restaurants, Blue Submarine and a Super market. We also tried the hotel food and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Grand Bay is 10 mins bus or taxi ride away, we tried both 400 Rupees for 2 people in a taxi one way to Grand Bay or 62 Rupees one way on the bus for 2 - There are plenty of shops in Grand Bay, including Grand Bay Market and the Super U Market about 200 meters away from where the bus stops ( 6 mins walk ).

Our flight was late in the evening so we requested for a late checkout which is granted subject to availability. We were allowed to checkout at 6pm instead of 12 mid-day on our last day so much more pleasant.

We would highly recommend this hotel !

Gardens galore!

Beautiful property with tranquil settings! I love that there are pools between each cluster and the main pool is massive. Room is huge with a cool shower concept. Recommend the Thai restaurant though breakfast a bit blah. Great gym and dinner at Carraval was great. Yes, book this hotel!

Perfect honey moon at the beachcomber

We were 2 couples, both in our honey moon. We arrived on 20/8 at 17:00 to the hotel, and got some cocktails for welcome. The check in was fast, and a club car took us with our luggages to our room. The room was clean and big, king size bath, an open shower and a bath plus 2 sinks. We also had a balcony to the pool. We were in a 1 minute walk distance from the beach. The hotel has a private beach with lots of attractions such as water ski, sup surf, wind surf and etc. all is free for hotel residents. The beach is extremly clean, and very comfortable. The hotel has 5 different resturants where you can eat dinner (2 for lunch and breakfast), each has different theme. We enjoyes also the sport facilities such as the mini golf, tennis and table tennis (there are also pilatis and gym practices). The food at the resturants was delicious, where you can also reserve a candle light table or other romantic things :) The staff was very kind and happy.

Very nice hotel at the beach. The beaches in Mauritius are public and you can get disturbed by the hawkers many times as the beach is easily accessible but the hotel and it's facilities are in good condition and very nice.
The breakfast has many choices as well. If you would like to use the local supermarket and exchange office for better rates/prices, it is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Very convenient.

Thank you for making our honeymoon so so memorable

The hotel was at the perfect, picturesque location of Trou aux Birches - my wife and I were 'wowed' by the scale of the resort when first arrived and how immaculate it presented (the sun probably helped!). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was big, homely (with a private pool) and with good lighting. We had a honeymoon package, which meant breakfast, lunch and dinner were taken care of, so we didn't end up spending too much more. Food was very very good, and in our case included already (though not really the point here), we can definitely say we never had a bad meal during our stay (4 days / 3 nights).

A quick word about their Beachcomber shop - very nice and upmarket and hwere we have purchased some very good memorablia to end our amazing trip at Mauritius.

Finally, I'd like to also use this opportunity to extend my thanks to all the staff (reception, housekeeping to waiting staff), thank you so much for making our trip so memorable - a memory to last a lifetime. All the best.

Still our favourite hotel in Mauritius.

Our room 451 was close to the beach and other hotel facilities. This was our fifth visit to TaB and we enjoyed the food room and location. However the hotel does need to pay attention to the upkeep of the rooms. The ceiling fan was noisy, the drain in the sink was clogged and cleared very slowly and the staff were not as attentive as in the past.

Nice hotel but too noisy and commercialised beach

The hotel is really nice and the rooms are fabulous. Really large and very clean. Food is great and there is a large choice of restaurants (all incl. with half-board).
Hotel staff is polite but the bar staff is VERY slow and disorganised. Cooks have a huge difficulty to remember the order for omelettes (even after 3-4 times repetition of the order) and are are sloppy. Beach staff is excellent though.
The greatest disadvantage of the resort is the organisation of the beach activities. Speed boats race next to the swimming lanes in full speed, making huge waves. This is not only extremely dangerous but really annoying and noisy too. Swimmers have to negotiate waves coming from all directions as many speed boats are zooming left and right at all times. These waves also move the markers of the swimming lanes and often the swimming zones are minimal. Snorkelling is not an option as you would be killed by 5 speed boats before reaching the reef.
Beach is not protected in any way and on each 5' another travelling salesman is disturbing you to try to sell you souvenirs, shells which they killed in the sea (including some very large ones), different kind of massages, bags, hats, and who knows what else. VERY annoying if you came to Mauritius to find some peace and rest.
Overall, if the hotel would be willing to ban speed boats from the beach and restrict somewhat the access of the travelling salesmen, I would highly recommend this hotel. Otherwise, the vacation is truly spoiled.

Everything about this place was beautiful & lots of facilities. Restaurants were all nice - especially the Mauritian night buffet. Most staff were friendly- maybe some of the cooks not so friendly Would definitely come back again.

Resort with nice garden and pretty beach

The gardens were so nicely maintained and had pretty beaches. The resort is beautiful overall, and the food is delicious.

Amazing hotel, little hard to get around

Stayed 5 nights with my partner. Amazing resort, the gardens, pool and activities available (snorkeling, glass bottom boat, paddle board and more all free). We only had breakfast included. Dining otherwise is very expensive. $100au per person for the buffet dinner (which was pretty average). Plenty of options to dine outside of the resort withing walking distance or via taxi. Also at all night time dining men must wear trousers and shoes so make sure you pack these.Taxi into Grande baie but don't use hotel taxi, just walk out onto street and one will come by which you can negotiate a better price with. Very luxurious hotel worth seeing.

Nice Hotel. Silly things stop a top rating

Wonderful hotel with great facilities and nice beach. Good options for kids. We enjoyed our stay and would go back. You can spend your entire stay in the resort, although there are several cheaper restaurant options nearby and also cheaper services like scuba diving outside of the hotel. We loved the included skiing, kayaks, etc that they provided. Overall the hotel had excellent facilities.

Silly issues included being refused a drink at the pool bar area as I was wearing nice shorts (not long trousers). We were OK with the restaurant dress code, but it wasn't needed at the bar. Having a leak in our bathroom, that was seen to, but not fixed and restrictions on using the pool table.

Magnificent stay

Trou aux biches is one of the best hotels ever. The suite with private pool and beachside is one of the master pieces in this place. Six excellent restaurants available. Very good boat house for water activities. Kids club with very good activities.

Beautiful Resort

The resort had everything you needed to have a great stay on the beach. There was no need to leave. The beach was beautiful and the gardens surrounding the villas well maintained. The room was spacious. My only complaint was the weather was a little cool at night and I could not turn the air conditioning up enough to make my room cosy warm. The staff were friendly, helpful and happy to attend to all your needs. The food at the buffet was great. As a note, only one of the 5 restaurants did a la carte, the rest were buffet or set menu. Great place to stay if you are happy to pay the premium rate for the room.

Nice hotel with amazing beach

The staff not super frendly/helpful. The food is good - plenty of choice.
The beach is amazing. There is a coral riff about 200m from the beach which is great for snorkling full of exotic fish!!
Another nice feature are the smaller pools spread around the complex - very peaceful place to relax!

Overall very good!

Tropical Paradise

We got an upgrade to a three bedroom villa with a private pool. The service was very friendly and the rooms were spotless. The resort is right on the beach. The beach was amazing with powdery white sand and aqua blue water. Lots of water sports to do (water skiiing, tubing, parasailing, sailing, paddle boarding, snorkelling). Everything was superb. Great kids club. Highly recommend it!

Large resort complex on a lovely beach

The Good: A renovated resort on a nice beach with beautiful swimming waters and all the watersports you could want. Nice buffet restaurant and good facilities in general including decent room wifi (Unlike most resorts they actually invested in the more expensive & superior Cisco technology). Staff are all very pleasant.
The Bad: Its big and loses the far away feel when you're fighting for sun beds because of the numbers of people there. Everything not pre-paid for and all excursions are expensive. There's nothing in walking distance of the resort to go to for other eating options. Out of 6 restaurants, only 2 are any good.
The Ugly: The staff whilst pleasant are not helpful when it comes to going outside of the resort - we had to force out of the concierge the fact that Grand Bay was worth visiting and only 10 mins in a taxi. The airport taxi the resort organised for us at a fixed rate was more expensive (when we got into it) than they told us and when I asked the hotel staff if they were going to help fix that, they said no. For that reason alone & in spite of most other things being good, I won't be going back there. They must understand that I as a customer have a choice.

Lovely setting

The setting is beautiful. All staff were polite and friendly. Everything was kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Food was very good and a good variety to cater for all tastes. The only down side was that meals in the restaurants and drinks at the bar were very expensive

Everything great but the food

Overall, a great great stay. Service is perfect, staff genuily helpful and nice, very friendly with kids. Facilities are good, quite a few things to do there. Beautiful garden. The only problem was the restaurants. The quality of the food at the buffet is not great (but might be the case in the rest of the island as well since most of the food is imported from France). Italian restaurant is good, thai quite bad and very very expensive. Food is doable but after a while you are done with it.
