Rooms are very clean. Aircon great, I enjoy the little kitchenete with nespresso machine. They also sell pods at reception and it was so reasonably priced.
Easy access to the beach. Pool is super clean and amazing. I just always enjoy my stay at Beach R

The staff here deserve all the credit, they couldn’t do enough for us from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. Everything was clean and comfortable, the pool area was lovely, looking out on the ocean. I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back again.

Room / studio was great and staff very responsive . Amazing view ! The only improvement would be the offered breakfast - it was a little lacking. Great beaches nearby - within walking distance on both sides. Restaurants nearby also walks if distance. More of a vibrant vibe in Troux au Biches - 25 mins walk , great beach, shops, restaurants.

Maybe it was an anomaly as the hotel is rated quite highly and was fully booked but when we arrived, our room was neat and clean until we got to the bed and then saw ants on the bed.. and quite a few of them all around the kitchen area, so not ideal!

The property is really great. It’s quiet and close to Mon Choisy beach. The service from the staff was excellent. They have sister hotel which has very nice restaurant (Le Skipper). I used a rental car but I think you can still manage with public bus nearby.

Absolutely loved this place!!! Small, boutique style hotel, with great pool right on the beach. Staff is wonderful and they take care of this place with so much care and love! Cindy, the manager, is fantastic, nothing is an issue ☺️ It was only myself and my little one this time and they were all very supportive and ready to assist with anything.
The only downside is, there is no restaurant on site, if I was the owner I would have at least a little bar by the pool where ppl could buy a drink or something to nibble on , but saying that it's not a big issue as next door there is a great restaurant and bar and this hotel offers a free shuttle to the restaurant at the second hotel belonging to the same owner located around 10min drive away.
Overall fantastic place and I'm already planning my return, don't think we will be ever looking for another spot while in Mauritius as this one is Al what you need 🤗

This property is located in a beautiful beachfront neighborhood of the Island. I traveled solo and felt extremely safe. Security guards were surrounded the area 24/7.
I was welcomed by a gorgeous and well spoken front desk staff named Fatima. Fortunately, she gave me the best room facing the ocean and it has a balcony. The air conditioning worked perfectly and I had breakfast delivered to my room daily.
I highly recommended this property if you ever decided to visit the island of Mauritius.
A shoutout to Vrishna for helping me with everything I needed.

This hotel is right on Mon Choisy beach which is an amazing 1.5km length of white sand. It also has a small pool with sunbeds which is great for relaxing. The rooms are reasonably basic but comfortable and include everything you need, including a fridge and coffee machine. Other hotels in the area can be incredibly expensive and this place gives access to the exact same beach. There is a small hotel next door with a restaurant and bar you can use and they also run a free shuttle bus to a different hotel restaurant which we used one night and the restaurant was great. You can drive easily everywhere from here, including a huge shopping mall if you want to self cater.

I stay every 6 months and can see they do a lot to keep it in great condition. It is extremely clean and I love that it has a kitchenette and that there is a washing mashine at reception that can be used free of charge. Staff are so friendly and I just love staying at Beach R.

Room prices off the charts. Nice place.

Have stayed at hotel over the last few years. It is a basic place that has everything I need.
But place was full this time, so had to park on street as parking area was full. There was no hot water in the evening. In the past a simple fresh breakfast was offered- but this was no longer an option. And hotel prices in Mauritius have gone crazy. The room cost around 3x what I spent in the past.
So I will be looking around for a similar place for my next trip.

We chose Mon Choisy BR based on the many other positive reviews and were not disappointed. The staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful and the room was serviced daily to the highest standard. The pool has the best view ever and Mon Choisy beach can be accessed from both ends of the property within seconds. We spent a week in a studio. The setting of the pool is fab we could always get a sun bed. Room cleaned daily. We used the bar and restaurant in the hotel mystic next door twice which was good. There are a few bars and restaurants a 5 minute walk to the right as you leave the front. Supermarket is a taxi ride that costs 200 rupees.

This resort is perfect for a relaxed and private holiday! The staff are so welcoming, very knowledgeable to help with any questions. Both room and kitchen amenities are spotless and just what you will need if you want a quiet night in to eat on your veranda, or they offer a takeaway menu or free shuttle to there sister hotel/restraunt, I recommend the bbq night!
Pool is a nice size, plenty of loungers and gorgeous sunsets in the evening. While it is facing the beach you will just have to walk 5 mins if you want to swim in an ocean area a little safer.
Mon Choisy Spa close by is lovely and bus stop right outside if you want to travel to Grand Baie or Port Louis.
The area is a little dark and quiet in evenings with a more limited restaurant choice than other areas of Mauritius. Resort next door has beautiful food too! Resto#36.

The checkin in was very easy and both the security and the lady at the check in counter was very welcoming and helpful.
Rooms are pristine clean and basic. You do not need more.
Kitchen had a coffee machine and they give complimentary pods on check in which was a pleasant surprise for me.

The general area and garden upkeep is extremely neat. The pool is very clean and there is a lovely view of the ocean from the pool and loungers.
There is not a restaurant at the property but the restaurant that is part of the group delivers for free. There is also a restaurant next door at the Mystik.
I will definitely stay here again.

Good property for the price, had kitchenette which was the main reason I booked it. Great location the the north side of the island. A little thin walls and could be a little noisy at times but overall good place and would recommend. We drove all over the island so didn’t really use the pool and chairs. You can walk to Mont Choisy beach which was good, but tres aux biches was much butter only 5 mins drive away.

We were two couples travelling to Mauritius to meet up with our Mauritian neighbours. The accommodation at Mon Choisy was perfect for us, quiet, clean and close to the superb public beach, restaurants and shops, so that we could be independent. The facilities were excellent and away from the crowds that are associated with the larger resorts. Although we had a hire car, it was not entirely necessary, as the very cheap bus service to Grand Bay and Port Louis, stops just outside the entrance. If you want to tour around the island it would be better to have a hire car. All the staff at Mon Choisy were very friendly and extremely helpful. We would definitely stay there again, should we return to Mauritius!

Friendly people, clean, located nicely. We had the room where most pictures are taken from ('seaview') so I don't know about those in the backyard.
Price / service: excellent, which means that you have to be self-sufficient for your meals (or go the the neibouring hotel for breakfast, lunch, dinner) however.
Grocery, Money Exchange 500m to go.
Beach: rocky in front of the property, some 100m walk to the sandy beach - one of the nicest places on the island.

Firstly the staff are exceptional - as helpful and friendly as is possible.

The buildings are very cleverly designed to fit into a compact rectangular plot which has one short side next to the road and the other short side is next to the swimming pool, which is next to the sea. The room we were in was beautifully furnished and self-catering was easy, but you need to get your supplies from a supermarket in Grand Baie. There is a local \"supermarket\" nearby, with hugely inflated prices. A fruit seller on the road nearby charges 3-4 times what the supermarkets charge!

In one direction is the very long and narrow Mon Choisy beach, 1-2 minutes strolling; and in the other direction, 5-10 minutes strolling, is very long and wider Trou aux Biches beach.

The small gardens are immaculate, as is the swimming pool; there seem to be enough sun-loungers to go round. The local buses pass by right outside the gate.

They can provide a simple breakfast, which we found adequate.

All in all, a thoroughly pleasant stay. I'd recommend an upper floor, and I imagine the view from the sea-facing rooms might well be worth paying extra for.

The place is nice, and right on the water. the staff was very kind and friendly. The only downside for me, and that’s because I didn’t read the information carefully, it’s an apartment living so it has a kitchen but it doesn’t have a restaurant or bar, you can order food from a sister restaurant and have it delivered to the room, which is nice as well. Over all I was very pleased.

I went there on a recommendation, and found the staff to be pleasant, and the overall atmosphere to be quite nice. It was very isolated though. No places to eat other than the evening bus to Skippers, which was very overpriced and barely mediocre quality. I got the breakfast option and found that to be extremely disappointing. Bread and...bread? What gives with that? For $12 you can't even find a morsel of cheese or one measly bit of protein to put with the bread? Next time I'll book into Grand Baie, something less spartan, and somewhere nearer to stores and amenities, and not have to figure out the complex bus system or negotiate with opportunistic cab drivers.

We stayed in a sea view room for 2weeks.Room were serviced daily with clean towels everyday. The staff were always on hand to answer any queries. Very friendly. There are facilities to do your laundry. The kitchen is well equipped to do light cooking. There is a coffee machine, kettle, toaster and microwave and fridge. We enjoyed our stay and gladly recommend this hotel.

Our stay was awesome. We had a room with sea view. It was beautiful. Especially in the morning at breakfast. We have only problems with ants in kitchen. So this is a thing for staff or management to do something about it. And another think for management from me is to put more warmer bedding in room. I was a little cold at night. This is a proposal in the name of all guests who will come in the future. Also the WIFI in room was poor, at pool it work normally. But all in all, we have great stay because we came there for holiday. And we were very happy with our choise.

Simple good quality self catering accommodation

This accommodation is located very close to the fabulous Mon Choosy Beach. About two miles of lovely white said.sand flanked by shady walkways though trees which home to flocks of wild birds.. There is no hotels fronting it and it is devoid of coconut umbrellas. The beach is favoured by Mauritanian families who flock to it at the weekend set up picnic tables, chairs sometimes carpets and small tents and enjoy a picnic with the extended family. Some bring their musical instruments so there is song and dance. Afterwards there is very little litter.

The accommodation provides a two ring hob microwave kettle, adequate for simple meals. The breakfast which is served on your balcony consists of three fruits (banana , pineapple and another ), bread jam, croissants, tea, instant coffee.and yoghurt

The swimming pool is lovely and is a good spot to. watch the sun set, creating a backdrop of golds.pinks and blue for men fishing standing on black volcanic rocks and the nearby Hindu Shrine.

Manager is very friendly, as are all the staff, and is willing to provide info about local buses, and tours. A visit to the national park in the South of the island is a must do.

We had a few showers but on the whole the weather was excellent.

Nice apartment with everything you need

We stayed in a garden facing apartment for which was spacious and modern. The apartment had all of the amenities we needed and was cleaned daily. The staff at the apartment complex were very pleasant and helpful and there is a security guard on the gate at all times. The pool area was nice and the pool itself was clean and big enough for the amount of the guests in the complex. There is no bar/restaurant on-site but they have a free shuttle service to their sister hotel which has one (though we never tried it) and there were a couple down the road. Though I would recommend hiring a car whilst on the island anyway so you would able to drive to some of the highly rated restaurants nearby. Mon Choisy beach is a couple of minutes walk from the apartments, and in my opinion, one of the best public beaches on the island. The beach is great for swimming and there are plenty of great food shacks. We also booked a few of our day trips with the reception staff who were very helpful, making it hassle-free for us. Overall, I would recommend staying at Mon Choisy Beach Resort, especially if you are happy to explore the nearby towns/villages for restaurants, beaches, shops etc.

Great Value for Money

A beautiful apartment hotel with a stunning ocean view. It is situated at a great location with Mon Choisy and Trou Aux Biches on either side of the property within walkable distance. Makes it ideal for beach lovers. Grand Baie is not too far from the property either. Bus Stop right outside the hotel made local travel very easy. Hotel Staff were extremely friendly. Special appreciation for Reception Staff (Anais & Brinda) who patiently answered all queries. Highly recommend this hotel and definitely look forward to going back.

Nice hotel - indifferent service staff

We were happy to stay there and the hotel itself is quite nice. The problem is the staff runs the place like they were all at a hotel for the first time in their life. They had no feeling of what kind of need you had - we brought a little baby and the restaurants and journeys they suggested were not suited for us. It seemed like they were more into selling their own services than actually helping us with the easy solution.

Decent apartments by the sea

It is not a proper hotel - it is more an aparthotel with clean, simply furnished rooms. There is no restaurant on site but there is a free shuttle to their restaurant located in another aparthotel 4 km away with very nice and inexpensive food overlooking a nice beach. I would stay there again.

The property is over rated and not value for money. The rooms are small and the service is very poor. The staff are very rigid and have no for an answer. The breakfast is pathetic and over and above this there is no restaurant. The kitchen is very basic and small.
We travel all over the world and stay in the finest properties to include the likes of Ritz Carlton.
The only good thing about the property is its location, a good pool and view for beach facing apartments. But again there are very few beach facing ones. The service is very average. The room does not have basics like paper napkins and the breakfast too is very ordinary and the there could be a better presentation of service.
It is not worth Euro 240.00 a night

Very close to the BUS and Mont Choisy Beach

Property and apartment in great conditions (seems to be brand new), the pool area is very good and has a nice view to the ocean, you can just walk into Mont Choisy Beach, which by the way was the best we found in the whole island, lots of food shacks during the day, you can pick up a bus to grand baie every 15m and it's right outside the property. The only bad thing is that there is nothing to do at night in the property although you can cook in your apartment or you can ask the hotel to shuttle you between the hotel and their restaurant for free.

It was an okay hotel - the rooms are a bit squashed for 2 people. Glasses were stained with dirt. Basic amenities in the room with only 1 TV channel (BBC World).

Relaxing apartment right by the beach

Relaxed, quiet and superb service at Mon Choisy Beach Resort. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was cleaned everyday and the bathroom and garden terrace were excellent. It was fully booked at the time but we were never disturbed by any noise. Pool area is very relaxing with a beautiful view of the sea and it is a 2 minute walk to Mon Choisy Beach or even a 2 minute walk to Trou aux Biches on the other side. We loved it so much, we are coming back next year!,

Nice quiet apartments

I stayed in Mon Choisy beach resort for 11 nights and found it to be serene and relaxed. I stayed in one apartment overlooking a back garden and it was great to wake up in the morning to hot sun and small exotic birds chirping outside. The housekeeping was on a daily basis and was very prompt. Apart from the last night in which I had to do battle with a couple of cockroaches (whom decided to make the inside of the apartment their temporary base until the rain stopped) I was very happy with my choice of accommodation and wi-fi was excellent. There is also round the clock security at the premises.

Perfect for my trip

I travel to Mauritius a lot and this is perfect for my purpose - great for when I have downtime from working and not expensive as a business expense

Public beach is popular with locals but even on a bank holiday quiet enough for chilling out

Very good hotel for the price.

Very nice, comfortable room. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They have a free shuttle to their other hotel where there are very good meals.It's right on the beach and the pool area is very inviting.Free car parking is available off road.
There are not many facilities in area for eating or shopping, so a car is handy.
There is a small kitchenette for cooking-kettle, toaster,hot plate, microwave, fridge.
We were very happy with our choice.

Nice Hotel, Good Amenities and a stunning view.

We stayed at Mon Choisy Beach resort for 6 nights and to be honest we wished we could have had longer. The staff were helpful and courteous. The room was nicely decorated and clean.

The charges for items were in line with the major retailers on the island and the free wifi was fast (10Mb/s up and down!) and reliable.

There is a restaurant literally next door (Bistro 36) and the food was great. Perfect steak, chicken and vegetarian meals. They even had Wagu steak fillet at one point!

All in all I would recommend the beach resort and will definitely be returning in the future.

Nice hotel in good location

Good hotel facilities and excellent location for very long beach side walks. Blue Water Diving Centre a short walk away. Excellent Staff. Rocky very reliable taxi driver for Tour and hotel transfer. Bus stops nearby for Grand Bay and Port Louis.

Nice accommodation.

Good staff, happy to help with day trips etc. However, lots of construction going on near by so during day gets quite noisy if at the side of the accommodation.

Beware - you'll get charged for every breakage, which I guess is ok but having paid for a holiday there seems petty being made to pay for a mug that was dropped and a glass that was cracked (possibly not by us!)

Quite a busy area.

Overall this was a pleasant stay, except for the room cleanliness which could greatly be improved i.e. mopping of the floor, less dust in the room, shortage or mirror and tissue paper.
Kitchenette could also greatly benefit from provision of cleaning tools and supplies.
Management was also rather inflexible in giving us a refund for cancellation of late checkout, we ended up paying more than required.
Other than that, overall ok stay.
