Beautiful resort. Lots of meal options including a great selection of gluten free options.
The only negative was that I found the women that worked at the bulk shop quite rude. My husband and I did all inclusive and would get takeaway drinks from there after dinner, the staff came across as rude and unpleasant.
All the other staff was lovely. One in particular at the bar near the ocean was incredibly kind.

I was in Mauritius for work and booked this hotel an hour before I checked in without really researching it at all. It was superb.

I stayed for 2 nights all-inc. The staff were lovely - polite but also fun to talk to. I had an amazing massage in the spa (by Cedric). I took a hobbie cat out and spent a morning zipping up and down the bay (though got told off for staying out too long!!!). Meals were decent for the price, though two nights didn’t qualify me for the a la carte restaurants, the buffet was fine. I really liked the bar and the huge selection of cocktails.

The room was spot on. It had a fan so you don’t always have to use the air con, the tuck shop concept was great (you go to the counter and they just give you what you want with soft drinks, beers, tea, ground coffee, milk etc). There are a few feline staff members and one liked to snooze on my balcony - never tried to come in the room though. Excellent wifi throughout the resort, even on the beach. If you stay after check out time you can book showers.

The outside and the pool areas were nice. The pools and beach were nice. There were lots of bugs. While eating dinner at the buffet lots of ants began crawling up the table legs and across the table. It was not very appealing. Also, there were bugs in the room including what we thought was a roach on the bed and lots of ants around the room and in the bathroom.

The air conditioner never able to get the room to the temperature set on the thermostat and the ceiling fan switch was broken which made it unable to be changed.

All of the restaurants/bars were outside and it was out making dining uncomfortable. There was no airconditioned commons area.

From arrival to departure,we always were greeted with a smile and utmost courtesy.
The property is kept in pristine condition, various pool areas to suit family ,couples etc.
The all inclusive options are excellent value.
We got to chat with Mr Sachi Bundun( hope I got his name right !!) as he oversaw the personnel at meal times .He answered our queries and happy to throw in his suggestions.
We also want to commend Lensley who was always on hand to check if we needed drinks topped up by the bar or by the pool,always polite and happy to engage in conversation.
Last but certainly not least ,I chose the hotel for the eco friendly attitude and I was not disappointed.
The hotel is striving to educate guests on the importance of sustainable tourism, unnecessary wastage, banning the use of single use plastic.
We will definitely be returning to Zilwa .

The mosquitos are a big problem for anyone coming to this property.
Also they don’t have room service which is inconvenient at times.
They allow random sellers to come to the beach and try to sell you random stuff for way over their value.
Also the taxi and rental car they work with are extremely expensive compared to outside.
Staff is lovely and helpful and room is nice.
Food was always decent with many options to chose from.

Overall it was a good stay for a night however I think there are better hotels in the north of the island. For exemple, I much prefer their more boutique hotel Tropical. Cosier and more friendly. Thought we would try another hotel from the Attitude group. That being said, I think it’s a great hotel group for families.

The staff seemed a little unmotivated and absent. We tried to go eat at their beach restaurant but it was booked out for a private event. Also their other à la carte restaurants were reserved for guests staying more than three nights so that was a little annoying.

It is also worth noting that to go on their private island you have to eat there and reserve in advance. You can go on the island by kayak for exemple. Seems a bit cheeky.

Absolutely loved ZIlwa. The rooms are clean and lovely the food and staff are great the entertainment 10/10 . They have free paddle boat you can take out and they have a small island a boat picks up every 15 mins you have a a barbecue lunch on there. If you consider Zilwa definitely go for All inclusive as the food is amazing.
They have a shop and car hire place across the road so if you want to travel around the island it’s idea to hire a car . Is really safe to drive they do 20-30 mh . I would recommend traveling around to see other beaches and the capital port Lou’s otherwise there’s not much around calodyne where Zilwa is but there is so much going on at Zilwa you don’t have to

Very clean, simple but effective decor tastefully done, in a wonderful location.
Real coffee in the rooms went downstairs treat, and plentiful choice for eating (hit and miss with some of the dishes but well presented and something for everyone)
Staff were friendly, watersports free including a great little snorkelling trip, bbq on Gran Zil was lovely and plenty of restaurant choices (if you can get a sitting)
Big hotel but not overcrowded. Gym good and other activities and entertainment available. Very happy 👍

Wow wow wow this hotel is truly amazing! The breathtaking view as you walk around the corner and into the bar is just incredible, photos do not do it justice.

The food at the Zilwa was all incredible. We tried every restaurant apart the Mauritian, and just couldn’t get any better. The buffet restaurant Karay has lots to choose from and always fresh. Make sure book the a la carte restaurants at the guest experience desk.

The rooms were lovely, clean and spacious. Everything you needed and great views wherever you were staying. There is a mini bar shop by the karay restaurant in which you can top up your mini bar in room for free if all inclusive.

Staff… just so friendly and welcoming, couldn’t do enough for us. Favour, Arvind, Daniela, Angie, Maeva, Victor and Lensley were the main staff that we had the most interaction with and always so happy to see us.

We did a sunrise boat excursion which we booked with guest experience and that was with a local fisherman called Dessie, we paid him direct. He was so lovely, hotel provides a little picnic too. Make sure you book that and he will also do a sunset boat trip too.

Big John on the beach also provides excursions which we did the dolphin and turtle half day and the inland day. Which both were just great.

All in all the hotel is just incredible, I will definitely be going back to the Zilwa! I loved it so much. They have literally thought of every single detail and I have no complaints whatsoever.

We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel - they decided to do renovations in the room just above ours and the hammering didn’t stop for hours! We couldn’t be in the room at all. When we mentioned that at the reception - they didn’t even say sorry, just proceeded to hand us the bill where they wanted to charge us the amount we already paid to Expedia. So again had to wait until they call their reservation team and sort their mistake out. Breakfast was also disappointing. Not a great experience at all

Property is perfect for families with childre under 12. We were in an adults only area which we thought meant that maybe there was an adult's only pool or an adult's only beach area but in reality it wasn't even an adult's only building. They also didn't inform us that we could not eat anywhere but at the buffet because we were only staying two nights until we got there. The buffet food was bland at best. The property just isn't worth the $600 a night we paid.

Best of three Attitude hotels this trip

A large hotel with resonably high occupancy but plenty of space and lots of places to sit includings bars, restaurants, pools and beaches so didn't feel crowded. We were half board and the food was varied and excellent. Extras such as lunch and drinks are expensive including non-alcoholic ones so if you want a lot of these things then all-inclusive would just about work out; we are content with 2 meals a day and drink mostly tea which is free.

Amazing stay. Highly recommend Zilwa. The beach front is a great place to relax. Loads of food options at the many restaurants. We went diving with the company based at the hotel called Dodo diving which was great. We had a great spa, played tennis and went out on the water sports.

The hotel was very thoughtfull of the environment, so you couldent get any plastic bottles. The covid tests was professionaly done. After our stay in this 4 star hotel we stayed in a higher categorised hotel. In our opinion this hotel should be a 5 star hotel.

To be honest we were really excited to stay here, but coming from the st. Regis it was a change in service. We asked if we could move our all inclusive around and they flat out refused and told us we needed to contact hotels.com, and then they told us all the restaurants were booked so basically our all inclusive was pointless, when they could have told us through the emails I sent them. At the end from getting a manager, and me getting so upset I cried the manager gave in to help us. But honestly, it just felt so demeaning and like the really didn’t want to help us. I get policy is policy, but we paid for 5 nights, don’t see why nothing was communicated and flexible. Most employees were incredible a side from that, but when we ordered things they forgot very often and we had to keep telling them again. Not everywhere but in some restaurants and bars. The bed was not comfortable at all and the rooms didn’t feel up to par for a 4 star and it wasn’t super clean. Had an amazing view though. The pools are very great but the beach is terrible, not clear and just to your knees and it’s so hard to go out and swim when the water is full dirt from the ocean. If you are here for the beach or the ocean I would definitely not recommend this place. Much clearer waters elsewhere. Great prices for a hotel though and I love all the live music every night. That was definitely my favorite part. Depends what you are looking for, but I do think there are better places to stay.

Our second time in this resort. The best part are the amenities and the staff. All very nice, lots of pools and water activities. We did not have to queue ever at check in, restaurants or check out. We requested a late check out provided at no cost. So all just perfect. they could improve are the rooms. They are a bit simple and low cost.

We would go back if we have the opportunity.

The Zilwa Attitude hotel was wonderful from start to finish. As you enter the hotel you are greeted by a view that can only be described as breathtaking. You know you're in for something special. With kids this moment is taken to another level when you see the giant ship sailing through the gardens of the kid's club. It makes the most jaded kid (and adult) say wow. Our daughter prefered the kid's club to spending time with us - which allowed us to take trips to the Marine Park and snorkel with wild turtles! However, what really set Zilwa apart was how the staff treated our baby. From supplying a baby bath (without us asking) to bringing a doctor to our room when he was unwell, the staff and team really seemed to care.

Great, cozy hotel with super service. Could have been a 10/10 but few things should be improved:
> don't ask people to pay in the invoice if they already paid! that unnecessary leaves a bad feeling.
> just give people bath towels (without complicated system with cards, punishments when you don't give them back in time etc.) People pay thousands of € for the stay and hassling over bathing towels is out of place.
> waiters should be there if needed - sometimes within few minutes they wanted to clean our table when we were just in the middle of eating - we enjoy eating food slowly.

Zilwa attitude is exactly what we needed for our one week all inclusive vacation. Amazing setting, clean, nice facilities, varied choice of food and restaurants, really friendly and professional staff. They even gave us packed lunches for the day trips, and were always willing to help.
A bit crowded with weddings, meaning the main (romantic, beach) restaurant was closed most days, and other restaurants were a bit slower than usual for service sometimes (e.g. Indian) but overall we had a great time at Zilwa and would most definitely return. Thank you to all who made our stay great.

The views from this hotel are amazing!! The picture of the island in the background that you see online is the exact view!
The staff overall were very friendly but not always very attentive in the main restaurant at breakfast and dinner. It sometimes took a long time to get drinks. The staff in the evening made you feel like you a bit of an inconvenience if you went for dinner around 9pm onwards even though it is on until 10pm. Otherwise the rest of the staff were wonderful.
The hotel was very clean and modern with a nice wooden shabby chic look about it. The showers are open plan in the room with blinds shielding you from the windows but the toilets are separate but the layout worked really well.

The beach area was nice but it wasn't very flat so if you were trying to move your bed into the areas of sunshine, the bed was majorly unlevel.

The hotel offers BBQ lunches at a tiny island right next to the hotel which was lovely and recommended. They can also organise a sunrise boat trip with a local fisherman for 1200 MR (about £26) which was amazing and well worth it!
There are 4 restaurants on site, we ate at the Chinese and the beach one and both were superb but the daily evening restaurant as part of the all inclusive was mediocre. They had some choice which was good but if the main included beef or lamb it was often chewy or gristly. The chicken was generally good though. Breakfast was good on the whole.
Overall we had a lovely stay here for our honeymoon!

I was excited when looking up this hotel for our stay. Good reviews and pictures to match. Upon pulling up and entering lobby we were impressed but then meeting staff left us a lithe deflated...and it continued. Room was nice with great view. Grounds are clean. Gym has all you need. Beach was poor and seemed man-made. Beach bar staff also left much to be desired. Dinner was poor. The staff seemed lazy and provided fake responses and emotions. No umbrella was left in our room and when asking if we could have one it was a chore...they wouldn’t loan us one for our quick walk to the store. It took almost 4 hours to get an umbrella and even during this cyclone weather staff couldn’t be bothered to offer customer service. Perhaps we were disappointed after great stays at different Beachcombers in Mauritius or perhaps we just saw the negative attitude of Zilwa. Def not a place I’d recommend when there are so many options to choose from on the island. We’re now at a B&B and are delighted to be back in a place with high customer service.

Fabulous birthday celebration

The hotel was in a beautiful setting, right in the beach with a jetty and access to a nearby private island where they do BBQ lunch. We had a scrumptious Lobster dinner on the beach which was very special and the hotel even made a birthday cake! The room was very comfortable and spacious with thoughtful touches like fresh apples and flip flops and dressing gowns. The food in the hotel was good, lots of choice and never crowded. There were plenty of sun loungers available and the staff are the best asset the hotel has, so friendly and courteous and keen to please.

Exactly what I'd hoped for.

Loved our room. The resort is very nice, the lay out perfect. We wish there was a hot tub but that doesn't seem to be common for resorts in hot climates, although the wind can be a bit chilling and a hot tub would be lovely. There is a warm tub in the spa, kind of expensive for the allotted time. A double shower head would be nice as well but over all, no complaints. Very pleased here.

Great place, plenty of positives, food was 80% good, but 20% of the time wasn't great. Beach is lovely, loads of sunbeds, free watersports are a nice touch, Big John is annoying, breakfast buffet is excellent, spa is very good, swimming pools are small but nicely formed and work well. Complete relaxation

I took my wife to Mauritius for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was nothing short of excellent. I work long hours in the Middle East and needed a relaxing vacation and that is just what I received. I arranged for the resort to send a taxi to pick us up from the airport and he was outside of the luggage area with a sign with our names on it and took us straight to the resort and that set the tone for the week.

We honestly just laid around the resort spending many hours around the beautiful pools reading and enjoying cold drinks. On our anniversary night we had a nice dinner on the beach and they brought us a nice congratulatory cake and we thought that was very thoughtful and sweet.

The staff was very cordial and always helpful.

From the moment we walked through the entrance of the hotel, I was super impressed! The views, the food and the activities were all great! We were a bit worried bringing our 1.5 year old boy along, but the hotel staff were so accommodating and friendly. The kids club and babysitting service were also great! There was plenty to do for everyone. I would definitely recommend this place for families.

We were not happy with the overall stay. The quality of the food was terrible. The breakfast horrible. The Hotel is in the middle of noway, the beach was nothing compared to the rest of the island. We had to take a cab to see the really beautiful beaches.
The rooms were fine but if your day starts with a very bad breakfast you don't well like in somekind of paradise.

Very nice vibe

We had a great stay here in Sep 2017 for our honeymoon. The location is lovely and all facilities are on site. There are several restaurants to choose from - Kot Nu was a particular favourite.

The majority of the staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
The activities were great in particular the catamaran trip.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Plenty of Europeans and South Africans here. Its a quite hotel in a quiet area. Its about 75min Taxi ride from the Airport. There is not much surrounding the hotel other than a corner shop. Be warned... if you don't have all inclusive or purchase the expensive drinks package which is per person, you will need to visit this shop to stock up on drinks. The diving from DODO Dive adventures is pretty awesome though and definitely breaks up the day! highly recommended. The food is buffet style for the most part, there is specific cuisine restaurants but book those early if you actually want to have something non buffet. And I mean like the moment you arrive. Infact book everything early, things run out fast. The sea is warm in the afternoon, and gets clearer the further you go out. Its not crystal clear that close to shore like the South. The cool breezes keeps the temp good.

Even though the hotel was full, the way the layout of the hotel meant that you never felt crowded.
Every single member of staff were pleasant and helpful at all times.
Loved the Mauritian style applied throughout the hotel, was perfect for a relaxing holiday.
Would recommend this hotel at the drop of a hat.

Great hotel with lots of free activities like snorkeling and kayaking. Really enjoyed our stay our only complaint was that the food there was very expensive other than that the staff were very welcoming throughout our stay.

Pampered in Mauritius

Fabulous hotel, perfect place to totally relax, be looked after and fed very well. Beautiful rooms, food and facilities excellent. Would definitely recommend and stay again. The taxi drivers who took us to Port Louis, botanical gardens and Grande Baie Hindu festival also excellent - good drivers and tour guides.

Relax here(serene, secure, beautiful, friendly)

Nice resort with amazingly warm, friendly and welcoming staff - from security through to reception and boathouse staff. By far the best part of our stay.

As for food, the main buffet restaurant although offering a wide range of fair, was ok without being great. Food quality was average and it sometimes reminded me of a university mes hall, especially around 7pm when it opens. Service levels cpuld be improved to make it more of a relaxing experience - somethings as simple as asking if anyone would like post-dinner coffees? The remaining restaurants offered better quality food and more intimate dining, especially for couples. Wish they would also improve the wine list!

The beach is swimmable and private but is not as beautiful or walkable as say a resort in Flic en Flac or Belle Mare as it is very small. If you want undisturbed peace and a view, it is amazing. Boathouse has lots of sports and trips to offer.

Location is good to be quite and relaxing, while close enough to Grand Baie.

Be aware that drinks and spa facilities are ludicrously priced (multiples of 6-8x local prices) which we found quite absurd especially as the quality of drinks and spirits used was below average.

After arriving at this hotel we realised we had no option to upgrade to all inclusive as there isnt somewhere nearby to eat, there isn't anything infact nearby that is walkable so you are restricted to the hotel, it got expensive for us getting cabs everywhere so consider hiring a car if staying here. We visited in June so the winter time, keep in mind if you like swimming in the sea and pools the water is cold. Also the rooms are concrete so you can hear your neighbours which if you are a light sleeper like me be prepared to get woken up.

Apart from that everything else about this hotel is lovely. If I came to mauritius again I would find somewhere on the west coast as the beaches are nicer and id go in the summer as the water would be warmer.

This place is worth it!

Pros:

-Super friendly staff (huge shout out to Shiva helping me get a bigger room to accommodate my party)
-Very very very impressive views. This hotel is gorgeous and defiantly feels like heaven.
-Love how they have free activities on site (free snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boating, wind surfing) + paid activities like diving.
-Food was pretty good at the buffet.

Cons:
The only con I had was that the staff was a bit slow on getting back to me. This is a tiny problem to fix.

Great resort - perfect for weddings.

Went for a wedding. The support for that was awesome. The facilities were brilliant. The hotel wonderful. Very touristy (not my thing), but if you're after an all-inclusive resort in the sun, this is a good choice. No off-beach snorkelling and water-sports are dependent upon high tides. The biggest issue I had was service. While friendly and accommodating, table service in restaurants was often slow - if you could attract the attention of the staff. Also, I asked for an ironing board, but had to chase it several times to make sure I got it in time to make the wedding (I only flew in the night before, shattered).

If you're looking for an extremely fancy, romantic, luxurious resort then please look elsewhere before you write a negative review.
However if you're looking for a lovely resort with very good value, good food, good activities and staff, then you can't go wrong with Zilwa! We absolutely loved our stay here, and they took good care of my partner who injured his toe and couldn't get it wet. Thank you for the care you showed us in our situation!
A lot of families and groups use this so not the most romantic resort but lots of activities and fun to be had here even for couples (but not for honeymooners).
Most of the food was fine, but the bread and the tarts were absolutely delicious!! Cocktails and drinks were good too, especially when you go all-inclusive.
You MUST go ALL-INCLUSIVE (upgrade at reception). EXCELLENT value to not have to worry about the cost of things. There was enough variety to keep your stomach happy for a week! You can pay extra for premium things and they did look very nice but you didn't have to. The kids club also looked like a lot of fun.
Being great value it was almost fully booked out but it wasn't too bad finding space for yourself. Weekend is def busy though. Water and land activities are also fun! Most people just sunbaking and eating so not too busy.
Not everyone is super friendly but the staff were fine as well, with some highlights! Thanks DH in Tadka!! Thanks to all the staff who helped us and were super friendly which was most of them

Great hotel and swimming pools - beach average

We stayed 5 days at Zilwa and 3 days in the south of the island with our 4 year old.

We loved the hotel, free activities such as the glass bottom boat was fab. Very child friendly.

Good food selection and lots of swimming pools to choose from.

The reasons this doesn't get 5 stars from me is the sea was very cloudy - you had to get a boat to be able to snorkel - and the hotel is a bit isolated if you want to eat else where. Roughly a £30 taxi.

Other than that really enjoyed our stay here.

NB we stayed in the south of the island for three days and the sea was crystal clear with amazing snorkling and felt much Joe authentic Mauritius.

The hotel has a modern feel and is maintained really well. There are enough swimming pools throughout the hotel. There is enough room and shade at all of the beaches. The rooms are really comfortable and well insulated from any outside noise. The room has a basic mini bar that is stocked every day. If the option is available, the upgrade to the all inclusive package is the way to go. Our best meal was definitely at the Beach Restaurant - a la Carte

We only stayed for one night so difficult to judge but other that the lovely decor/design, stunning view from the main area and lovely pools it is a very average hotel which I would probably recommend to people with kids as it is very kid friendly and has a great kids club but certainly not to anyone wanting peace and quite. the bar service is terrible ( took over 30 min to get our order which was then wrong) and you can only connect one device at a time in the rooms

Nice ciew of moutain and beach, very relaxing

Everthing was good in this hotel. Beach, food, free glass bottom. You can stay all day at the hotel just enjoy the beach, swimming pool and all the free activities. Every night there is music or sega show. The band was not very good, the sound was not good no one was dancing. Overall e everything was good, plenty of food. The hotel doea not provide water bottle, make sure bring some water bottle or unless you buy everything from the hotel which is quite expensive. Rs100 for bottle of water which you can buy about Rs15 in the shop.

Good hotel, the beach and sea let it down

Zilwa is a lovely place with great views, good food selection (if not fine dining), great value for money, simple rooms, really nice pools, choice of activities and very nice staff. A good 4 star. However, the hotel is located on a man made beach, with coral and gravel sand. The sea is not very appealing, it looks blue and all that, but water is really merky so if you arecoming to Mauritius and have in mind the beautiful sea and beach the island is famous for, you will be disappointed. If you want a nice break in the sun with all inclusive food and drink and a lovely place to stay overall, then this is for you.

Zilwa Attitude- A Fantastic & Memorable Experience

Right from the word go.. Zilwa was an experience to remember & rave about !!
Everything at the property was truly amazing. The Location, The Beach, The Facilities, The Activities, The Room, The View, The Pools... The list goes on !!
The buffet could do with a little more Vegetarian (Egg Free) options both at Breakfast & Dinner. However, the sumptuous and authentic Indian 'Vegetarian' Food (Dinner) Served at Tadka more than made up for this deficit.

In a Nut Shell, THIS WAS ONE HECK OF A STAY AT ZILWA !! It was a pity that we had booked the second half of our vacation at an alternate property on the East Coast. We most definitely felt bad about our decision and would have loved to spend the remainder of our vacation glued at Zilwa.
Wow !! I just wish i could do another trip to Mauritius just for the wholesome ZILWA experience !!

Great Relaxing Stay

We had a fabulous stay at Zilwa. The room was fantastic with a nice view over the volleyball and the beach. Staff were very friendly and would take time to help you out with any requests. Food choices were good and fairly varied (we stayed 6 nights and there was always something new to try). The SIAW restaurant wasn't that great with the food lacking a bit of flavour but the rest were really tasty. Water sports equipment and availability were all fantastic and the boat house staff very helpful and friendly. The beach is not fantastic but this is nothing to do with the hotel - I believe all the northern bay locations are the same. The water is very shallow and still due to the lagoon, which results in a slightly slimy feel to the sand and higher water temperature in some places. Although maybe we are just spoilt Australians with our choice of beaches :)

Think about the room rate you are choosing - we went half board because 'all inclusive' is not a system we are familiar with here in Australia and we had a car with some day trips planned. There are not that many places in walking distance of the hotel so unless you have a car and are off exploring every day you'd be eating there which is fairly expensive. Also depending on how much you want to drink your bill could add up really quickly.

Disappointing

Beware a superior room with sea view does not get you a sea view! Concrete floors in room, rough frayed towels, noisy cleaners outside the door at 6am all disappointing. Service very slow 20 minute wait for milk for coffee! Lots of queues at breakfast and ran out of basics butter, fruit, pastures. Saw a cockroach in there one morning on a plate! Says 5 restaurants but beware extra charges. Sports facilities were excellent and loads to do. Recommend the catamaran trip. But only 3 tennis racquets as one had broken - no attempt to order another for whole 10 days. Water good for children as very, very shallow. Nice to swim to island nearby but water not as clear as other parts of the island. Has potential to be great but poorly managed. Loads if staff but they don't seem to know what to do. Disappointing really and sadly will go elsewhere next time.

From the moment I stepped in, I was treated to a luxury experience. The view of the sea and the island in the lobby was stunning. During check-in, I was treated to a cool drink, coconut slices and a damp flannel which was refreshing after a long flight. My luggage was taken to my room for me, (although it needed chasing up!) and this was again offered on my departure. All staff in the hotel were more than accommodating, bringing me a complimentary cake for my birthday, chatting in a friendly and helpful manner during my stay, and providing efficient service. When the transport for my return journey arrived late, staff put me at ease, contacting the company and keeping me updated. The beaches were lovely- uncrowded and attended to well by staff. There were a few people selling tours or wares on the beach occasionally, but they were friendly and did not hassle people at all. The boat bar on the beach was well-designed as was the whole hotel. The watersports were a good facility to have and were easy to book. I had looked forward to using the spa facility, and the two massages I received were of good quality. There were a few swimming pools which were never crowded. The range of activities provided throughout the day and evening were interesting and varied. I only had breakfasts as the meals were expensive and unfortunately the hotel is not close to any restaurants. The breakfast buffet was wonderful though with a huge range of choice, and delicious fresh food.

Booked this Hotel as a surprise 40th birthday present for my boyfriend so wanted something special but still somewhere laid back and not too full on. Zilwa Attitude definitely delivered.
The view from reception is breathtaking and this theme continues throughout the resort. The grounds, pools and beach areas and rooms are emaculate. The staff are super friendly and helpful without being too ovebearing. Extremely well run establishment.
It is fairly remote so be prepared to cough up for taxi rides to the nearest town of Grand Baie which is about 15mins by car. Or be adventerous and take the local bus (nr 95) from just outside of the Hotel. Great experience. There is also a local shop opposite the gates of the resort.

Quiet hotel away from it all in lovely grounds

Booked as a last minute 5day detour from our South African holiday for myself, 22year old son and 19year old daughter. Very welcoming, helpful staff and lovely rooms. Wehad two sea-view superior rooms, one a double/queen and one a twin, next door to one another with a door to enclose our end of the corridor for our sole use and have our room doors open for free movement between rooms if wanted.

Most of the guests were couples, some with grown kids, lots with no kids, there were a few families with children, hardly any single adults there. Be sure to take and use decent insect/mosquito repellent as we got quite a few nasty bites (at the beginning of June). We enjoyed the free 1hr glass bottom boat snorkelling trip within the lagoon and the use of kayaks. A variety of sunloungers, seats, hammocks etc to sit on/lie in around the grounds and by the beach. The sea at the hotel is shallow and turquoise/blue with sandy beaches. Beach/swimming towels are provided.
