This hotel is in a great location. It was fine all around but the breakfast was average and the overall feel cold and not very welcoming. It should not be called a boutique hotel.

Having come from an amazing four star hotel in Prague, we were surprised that this hotel (also listed as 4 stars and same price range) could be such a let down. For starters, it was impossible to find even with GPS. When we finally found it, we were told that it had been sold since we booked our reservation and they had not yet updated their signage. Our room was at the end of a very long corridor that had the smell of a dank old building. The room was clean, but tired. Decor was not inviting and odd. Bed was not comfortable and the pillows were flat out awful. Buffet breakfast was okay. Staff was professional but not warm. And, lest you think being across from the Cathedral is good, the bells started ringing at 6 AM. And there was a lot of street noise into the early hours of the morning. Over all, definitely NOT a four star property or experience.

Some challenges but great location
The challenge was trying to find the place as the name of the hotel was changed and there were no signs indicating the name we booked the hotel under. A/C didn't work so we had to leave the window open even in the rain. It worked out ok. Coffee maker never worked well and leaked. Desk notified and will change it upon our departure. Staff was very helpful in recommending restaurants.

Had very comfortable Room with great view onto the St Peter's dome, room was clean and pretty large. Bath as well large with bathtub. Breakfast was excellent in terms of choices of drinks and food. Very friendly staff despite being pretty busy. The location was in walking distance to all old town sights.

The hotel was great and the room was exceptional. We wound up with the Presidential Suite. The room was nice sized, but it included an entire board room with huge table and executive seating for 15 or so people. It was incredible but of no use to us. But fun. The room was well insulated, weather and noise, and we had a perfect view of the Dom (Cathedral). The big 'but' was the failure of the elevator. We were on the second or third floor (there were sort of half floors which made counting difficult). But the staff sent info overdrive, carrying suitcases for everyone. They all deserve medals, especially the women doing the check in. I regret I didn't get her name, but many thanks. And we would stay here again, as we did 10 years ago.

We had difficulty finding where to turn on the heat but reception staff came up immediately to assist. Heat control located separate from A/C - on heat radiators. Room was a comfortable warm temperature once we knew where to turn it on. Good value for the price paid.

Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und waren zufrieden mit der Ausstattung und Einrichtung und mit der Reinlichkeit. Es gibt einen Sessel einen Stuhl einen Schreibtisch. This small, welcoming hotel is in a very good location. It’s walkable to many cute shops and restaurants in the old town, not far from the river and a quick taxi from the train station.
The staff was excellent- friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast room is nice and the outdoor seating is very enjoyable. The breakfast offerings were certainly adequate. The hotel is right next to a good German restaurant. Our only criticism is the hot and stuffiness of the room. We could not cool it off and didn’t want to open the windows as there were no screens. Our room was on the uppermost floor and the air conditioner was broken; therefore, we had to keep our windows open all night to try to bring in some cool air. There is a nightclub next door that was incredibly loud. The nightclub patrons partied outside our hotel room literally all night, drinking and being excessively loud. They continued drinking and making noise until 7:30am, long after the sun came up. If you wish to sleep, do not stay here because it will be impossible, even with earplugs in.

We went to the desk and asked how to get the ac working and were told matter-of-factly that it was broken and there was no idea when it would be repaired. We told to open the windows and the cool air would accommodate us. When I asked for a key to open a window, I was told that it must be locked for a good reason and, no, I couldn't have the key.
The morning staff was empathetic and helpful, the weekend evening staff acted as if she could care less for the inconvenience.
After two nights we were told it would be possibly the end of the week that the ac might be fixed. We chose to go to another hotel.
The day after our reservation would have ended, I received an email from Achat hoping our stay was enjoyable. We were offered no discount or credit for this inconvenience that was not told us upon arrival.
It may be great when the ac is working, both the weekend and weekday morning staff were great, it has a great locataion ... but our next trip to Regensburg we'll stay elsewhere.

I did not realize it was so close to St. Peter’s Cathedral or the Christmas market. Wonderful location. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also lovely. It was also close enough to the River that I could walk to my River cruise boat. I am not fit, but it was an easy walk (a bit downhill) to the River.

Excellent location in the heart of the old town right opposite the cathedral. This unfortunately means that you will be woken at 6am every morning. I could have handled that but there appears to be a huge number of crows either nesting on or very close to the hotel. They started making an unholy racket at 4am every morning (only stopping with the sunrise), so sleep or the lack thereof was a real issue here. I wouldn’t stay here again

Room was clean, spacious, close to train station and center of town. However, desk staff were surly, and let us know that they didn't care for American tourists. We sat in the lobby for a while and watched how the girls interacted with German tourists vs. \" others\". At the high price of this hotel, we will stay elsewhere next time.

We are frequent travellers around the world for business and leisure and were nicely impressed by Achat Plaza Hotel. We booked two rooms for one night. Checkin was fast, efficient and very friendly. The interior is a mix of modern and historically interesting. The rooms were spacious, super clean and you get all you need. The location was perfect for us visiting Regensburg for the first time. Overall, highly recommended! Just be aware and prepared, no overnight parking available, but there is a public parking house nearby.

Its location is amazing but since they do not have their own parking space it was extremely annoying to park our car around the hotel. We drove more than 40 minutes to park our car where it does not take more than 10 minutes to the hotel on feet.

Great place to stay for a short trip. Central location is convenient for anything you are looking for in Regensburg. Staff is very friendly and accommodating to traveler's needs as well. The beer garden that is part of the hotel is a fantastic place to get some great food and Bavarian beer. Very close to the trains station for traveling to other locations.
Rooms are small, however that is the way in most European hotels. In any case there are too many things to do and see outside of the hotel, you wont spend too much time inside. Highly recommended for trips that are not long in duration and you wish to experience the old town charm.

But for business travelers and those dependent on Wifi - NOT A GOOD MATCH. Had to change rooms when first checked in due to no wifi coverage. Then had only limited wifi the rest of the stay as wifi speed was very low, and any sort of VOIP was basically not possible. Nice hotel for tourism and location - wifi needs to be addressed.

Quiet room meant above the beer garden. Away from the student and car noise. Students surely are on holidays. Beer flowed, plus singing until 11pm, then clearing up. Bell tolled at 6pm next morning. Then at 7 am.

We loved it. The staff were very nice and accommodating, the rooms were large enough for two large suitcases. There was an Nepresso Coffee Maker, a refrigerator and complimentary water. You were close to great restaurants and the city center, you could walk everywhere. You do need to take a taxi from the train station unless you are really fit. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning.

You could not ask for a more ideal location than the ACHAT Plaza Herzog am Dom Regensburg. It is directly across from the cathedral and within a 5 minute walk of most sites. We arrived at the train station and were going to get a taxi but were told it was a short walk - maybe 10 minutes at most. It took us less time than that.
