The property was nice, it is large with a decent walk to reception front area. I liked the property and the room. The pool and the different hot spring pools were also very nice. Price wise I thought the nightly rate was pretty reasonable. Which included a good breakfast buffet. The food at the hotel was pretty good but I felt was over priced. The staff was good but not exceptional. I would say better than average staff but below top tier 5 start hotels. Their food and drink prices were priced at 5 star rate although did not have the service to that standard. Overall was a nice property and had a great stay.

I can't say enough positive things about Arenal Manoa. I was blown away by almost everything.
Check-in was easy and the staff was super helpful. One was willing to call the chocolate store for me when I discovered I left my phone there. (thank you, chocolate store staff). There is a good system for tourism pickups, and shuttle drivers are very familiar with Arenal Manoa. One stopped us in the long driveway to point out Howler monkeys in the tree! So cool.
Our habitaciòn was perfectly situated on the upper terrace of the beautiful, lush property to see perfect views of the volcano (every day!) plus toucans and tons of other birds. The only wildlife we didn't see and wanted to was a perezoso.
We got a VIP deal on hotels.com so they provided a small bottle of wine, chocolates, towel art, an extra lunch free of charge, and a $39 spa credit, which we used. The spa was great, so unique. Definitely try to book a service.
Our room was clean minus hormigas (ants) everyday. We evicted the big ones ourselves, then had the cleaning staff try to get the teeny ones. They didn't bother us as much until our last day when they discovered our toiletries. The a/c worked well, the beds were comfy although I could've used another pillow, and the lanai/porch was amazing.
Service was pura vida. It's a great location too just outside of La Fortuna. I would very happily stay here again.

Our stay at Arenal Monoa & Hot Springs Resort was excellent. It served as a great home base while our family explored the volcano & the surrounding jungle. The property is very clean. The pool, pool bar & hot springs were relaxing. The views are incredible and you will encounter plenty of wildlife while walking around the property. It was nice to get away from the crowds in La Fortuna with an easy 10 minute drive to the resort. The on-site restaurants are good, which made our decision to eat at the resort that much better. Would highly recommend this property and would stay there again.

This resort is amazing! We loved the hot springs and pool. All the food options were delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Love the daily breakfast (fresh fruits, hot food, omelette station, oatmeal’s, etc). Also the pool and hot spring pools were amazing. Towel racks are everywhere around the various pools. We were here in late May and we usually get the hot spring pools all by ourselves. Nice time to visit this area. The bathroom in our room is spacious and very convenient, which makes it easy to shower after spending time in the pools.
Dinner was a bit over priced at the main restaurant so we usually uber into town and try different foods. There’s a Chinese place called Dragonfly that’s delightful and a Mexican taco place also amazing called Mexikah Taqueria.
The staff around the property were super nice and helpful. We got gifted chocolate treats on the last day and a free bottle of red wine on the first day. They also brought us ice when we ask where to get ice.
I would definitely stay here again!

The resort was beautiful, be sure to get a room with the view of the volcano, it was magnificent. The staff was super hospitable and friendly, my family and I felt really welcomed. Great place for couples or families, my 7 year old loved it, especially the hot springs. A big thank you to our new friends at Arenal Menoa: Jason, Joe, Bryan, Carol, Gaudy, David , Luis and Roxanne for making our stay truly special with their hospitality and amazing service. Nothing went unnoticed, you guys went above and beyond and we appreciate it very much.

Arsenal Manoa was the 1st of 4 places my hubby and I stayed in Costa Rica. It was everything we hoped for and more! We got a Private Chato Suite with private pool in May of 2026. Absolutely amazing! We loved the room, loved the private pool we could customize the water temp overlooking the volcano, the people were fabulous, the breakfast buffet was insane, the hot springs tubs were everything we were hoping for, the resort pool was clean & big & having a swim up bar was EVERYTHING!!
When we go back to Costa Rica, we would definitely go back here! Would want to stay at least 6 nights instead of 4!
Sky Adventures zip line and hanging bridge tour with private tour guide was amazing! The food at Sky is fab!
Wish we did the waterfall tour! We heard so much about it from other travelers. We will do it next time!
We also didn’t take advantage of the spa, which is located on a river. Next time!
When we went in May, the resort was at half capacity, which we LOVED! Many times in the big hot springs pool and resort pool we had it mostly to ourselves.
The staff were all amazing! Great drinks and loved happy hour which was 2 hours,

We traveled to CR in late May, 2026, with our two boys (age 14/11). The property is lovely - clear views of the volcano (aside from the mist covering). Lots of birds to spot, & the grounds are well maintained. We stayed in their smallest room - two queen beds. The room was nice but basic. There is a small fridge/coffee pot/kettle & they supply coffee/tea. There is a hair dryer as well. The room is very humid, even with AC, but that is not the fault of the hotel. You may find it tricky to dry any wet clothes :). The shower lacks both pressure & a lot of heat, but both are common in this region.

The pool is nice & was a comfortable temperature. We enjoyed their happy hour from 4-6, & that included some free mocktails for our kids! The hot springs were really beautiful - likely given the time of year, but they were quiet & it was easy to find some privacy.

We did eat in the main restaurant on our first night - the food was delicious, but a bit pricey for what it was (not uncommon in CR). The next night we did pizza at the pool - the pizza was delicious and much more reasonably priced.

We were going to eat off property our last night to save a bit of money, but for some reason the front desk called us and let us know that we were entitled to a free meal - what a lovely treat! We still don't know why, but it was such a lovely gesture. I would highly recommend this property, especially those traveling with kids.

We went for our honeymoon and it was stunning from the moment we arrived! I kept looking for the White Lotus film crew because the property, room, and staff were top notch and we felt like we were in a WL episode. Surreal views, flora, fauna, service and the room with our own private pool remains undefeated! We stayed in a Chato Suite and it was unbelievable. We were welcomed with a personalized sign on the door, welcome drinks, a welcome dessert plate, and a complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate our honeymoon. Service was impeccable, including knowing when we had stepped out and placed a surprise good night dessert in our room on our last night. Thanks to all the staff for their hospitality and friendliness. Pura vida! 100/10.

I highly recommend Arenal Manoa Resort & Hot Springs. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, the staff is attentive, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you need. Our room was spotless, the food was always fresh, and the entire resort was beautifully maintained.

One thing I really appreciated was how available they were for pick-up rides to the lobby whenever needed, and how quickly they assisted us anytime we had questions or needed something.

The view from our room was absolutely immaculate. Even though we didn’t have time to experience the spa, I still recommend checking it out because I can already tell it would be an amazing experience.

What I loved most is that the resort has 9 thermal pools, and being there truly makes you feel like you’re in another world. It’s romantic, surrounded by nature, and has that peaceful jungle atmosphere that makes the whole experience unforgettable.

Costa Rica and Arenal Manoa Resort are already a 5-star experience in every way that matters, but the staff is what truly sets it apart. Everyone was incredibly warm and genuinely helpful, they even remembered my kids’ names and would stop to point out animals around the property, which made it so special for them. It felt personal and easy from start to finish, not just like another resort stay. I’d happily come back.

Our stay here was amazing. First time in Costa Rica and this place made it memorable. From the staff to the food to the rooms to the pools to simply everything.

Breakfast was incredible and it varied daily. The views in the main restaurant dining area were amazing. It felt like you were dining in the jungle as everything was open air. We were able to see some wildlife while dining including some interesting birds and an iguana.

The lunch is also amazing no matter what you get. We had the octopus, ribeye, 24-hour pork, and a pizza and all were great. I'd skip the dessert.

The pools are really the highlight of the resort. It can get busy from time to time but if you aim to go when it's a little offpeak (e.g., when it's raining, night time, in b/w breakfast and lunch) then you'll fare better. The pools aren't too hot but that is kind of a good thing when you'd prefer to sit in them for longer to enjoy the lush, green, jungle surroundings. Everything was clean and well-kept. There is a hot pool by the main pool if you want something hotter.

We missed out trying the spa but will aim to do that next time. Seemed nice when we visited.

The property is expansive and it can be a little bit of a walk to get from the front to your room (depending on which one) but our room was perfectly situated by the pool/restaurant and wasn't too far. We were in a Jr Suite. The Chato Suites and Villas are the furthest away from the main entrance.

The property itself is gorgeous, well-kept, and easy to navigate. We found the restaurants and pools were all within a comfortable walking distance from our room. Our 4.5-year-old absolutely loved the pool and would have been content to stay there all day.

Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff even left a personal note and a sweet treat at check-in, which is always such a thoughtful touch. Throughout our stay, everyone was attentive and welcoming.

Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, paired with absolutely incredible views.

With two large thermal pools and half a dozen smaller thermal “ponds” it never felt overcrowded even during busy Easter week. The staff was very helpful and gracious. Be sure to indulge in a spa visit if you can. The massage and mini facial, done in a small open air hut on the riverbank, was divine.

We stayed at Arenal Manoa Resort & Hot Springs in a Chato Suite and overall had a wonderful experience. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery with views of Arenal volcano (when the clouds clear).

The resort feels peaceful and spacious, which adds to its relaxed atmosphere, and it’s only a 5-minute Uber ride into town, which was inexpensive, safe, and reliable.
Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a private pool and terrace waking up to that view was a real highlight. The hotel’s hot springs were another standout: well maintained and perfect for relaxing after a day out. We spent plenty of time there enjoying drinks and the sushi, which was particularly good.

The staff were excellent throughout friendly, professional, and very helpful making us feel genuinely welcome. The food overall was good; breakfast in the room was nice, though not as hot by the time it arrived. In the main restaurant, the egg station could improve by providing separate equipment for vegetarian cooking. Also, the toasters didn’t work well and heated bread very slowly small issues that could be easily fixed.

The resort is quite spread out, so expect some walking (or use the shuttle), and Wi-Fi can be inconsistent, but neither detracted much from the stay.
Overall, we loved our time here and would recommend it. It’s a great mix of comfort, nature, and relaxation exactly what you’d want from Costa Rica.

Tip: the Chato Suite is well worth it.

From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff set the tone for our stay. Angelica at the front desk and Michael the bellhop were true standouts—their attentiveness and genuine care made us feel well supported from check‑in through departure. They elevated our appreciation for the entire team.

The property itself is stunning, surrounded by lush greenery with beautiful volcano views from almost every angle. Because this was a last‑minute booking, we stayed in several different room types. Each offered a unique perspective of the grounds, but the rooms felt fairly standard compared to the beauty of the property overall, and each change felt like a noticeable downgrade. The lack of a gym was also disappointing.

The highlight of our stay was the Chato Suite. While the room itself was simple, the private outdoor area—with its own thermal pool—was unforgettable and absolutely worth the premium. By comparison, the Premium Suite was fine but awkwardly designed, with a Jacuzzi that doubled as a shower and was difficult to get in and out of. Our final room, a Junior Suite, felt like a typical hotel room, though the volcano view remained its best feature.

Booked a “premium suite” and paid a premium price for a suite that has no dedicated shower. The shower is a handheld inside a huge jacuzzi tub with no shower curtain! Your bathing options are to fill and drain an enormous spa size tub or slip & slide on uneven jacuzzi seats spraying water everywhere. The hotel response “you booked a jacuzzi suite”. Apparently not an issue they fail to mention the suite has no shower. The grounds are nice but the rooms and resort are dated and frankly this “premium” suite and tub/shower is a joke. Management called to offer a different room at 8pm on our last night … a but late. Friends traveling in our group had a similarly dated non-premium suite … but at least their unit had a proper shower! This is a 3 star resort at best and if you like a shower be sure to confirm what you’re getting or better yet stay elsewhere.

One of the best resorts we have lived in. The pool and hot springs were amazing. Our boys loved the pool and the view of Arenal Volcano from the pool was amazing. The staff was very courteous and great service. The property is beautiful and rooms are very nicely done.

The view of mountain from the room early morning was very relaxing and fun. The location of this resort is also in also perfect for all activities around La Fortuna.

The individual casita with self parking in front was great. Units were clean and the a/c worked great. All the staff on property were friendly and helpful. We loved the breakfast buffet and hot spring pools.. The view of the volcano was superb. The property had beautiful tropical landscaping. We will be back again!

Absolutely over the hot springs and spa the most. The spa was placed in the last relaxing possible atmosphere on the planet, and we wish we had time for a second visit. The hot springs were never too busy, and we liked that there were different depths, temperatures and sore adults only areas. The view of the volcano was unbeatable. Loved the huge bathrooms in the room and private driveway. We booked a private driver to the airport through the hotel and it was the best decision. Freddy did a great job despite the fog and got us to the airport in plenty of time.

The thermal pools were amazing, the staff was friendly and attentive, beds were comfortable and the included breakfast buffet was fantastic. Our jr suite, which was room 222 had an epic view of the volcano, and we so so many birds right from our roon. WiFi was terrible, and the jr suite which we stayed in was dated, and had a vanity with a terrible stool instead of a desk, which would have been ideal.

It was so enjoyable to walk around the grounds. The landscaping was absolutely beautiful. There was plenty of wildlife to see. There were two sloths near check in and a Glock of birds roost in a tree at night near a walkway. In the morning there is a group of turkey like birds that walk around. We went to several pools and restaurants. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Overall a very nice place to stay.

My mom and I had such a wonderful time at the Manoa Resort. The staff was incredibly friendly, and wanted to point out Jose, the bartender, who made us feel right at home. He was so welcoming and kind, which made our trip even more memorable. We highly recommend this resort and will be sharing our experience with friends and family. I will definitely be back in the near future.

The room was average. I liked the villa style, but the rooms were basic, and in the washrooms I could hear the people in the villa next to me the entire time when they were in the bathroom showering or using the toilet. No insulation as I could hear their conversations.
There was lack of hot water, perhaps warm at best. The hot stone massage was amazing, but other than that I felt the staff to not be friendly. Often not being acknowledged most of the time. Buffet breakfast could use some changing rather than the same things everyday. Overall for the dollar value, wasn’t really pleased.

This is a nice calm property with limited spread out units so not too crowded. The breakfast was very nice with a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. The service was quick and they would send anything and everything very quickly 24*7. We also saw a lot of birds like tucans in the trees surroundimg the property. The pools were nice but just warm Like luke warm only which was disappointing as it was supposed to be the thing we were here for mostly. There was nothing like one pool which would have like a 32 deg centi plus water. Also there was a water leak at night in the water feeding the flush in our washroom and it flooded the whole room at night. Things happen but it is the design of the washroom which had no outlet for the leeking water and it just flooded the room which is the main concern. Lastly they did however respond quickly and fixed and cleaned everything at night (1am) itself which was very good service. They did send a fruit basket and an apology letter too the next day. I hope they fix the design flaw.
