This is a four, not five star hotel. The staff are very friendly but the property is becoming run down/ the location is lovely and quiet. All the rooms face the ocean and we enjoyed our balcony. The restaurant needs a more varied menu, but there are lots of restaurants to try. Nothing much in the way of walking but there’s a bit. They need to bring down the price of the room, though, since I was paying Four Seasojs price but without the quality. But as said, staff is very friendly and helpful. The property isn’t as advertised on their website since they show multiple restaurants on site - seems like they are in transition. I stil enjoyed my stay. But I won’t go back until the property is revamped.

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Fairmont Royal Pavilion! It is a beautiful property right on the beach, very well maintained and staffed. Everyone we saw and spoke with was extremely respectful, professional, helpful, positive and pleasant.

I think the property was great with good services and attentive workers. However , i feel it was bit overpriced not just for the room also for any extra services we were considering. As result we ended up doing lots of dining outside of the pavillio. And to our surprise we noticed other doing the same. Lol. Amazing 👏

Fairmont Royal Pavilion has great potential with its beautiful setting, but the service fell short of our expectations as this is a high end hotel with a price tag to match.

The Fairmont Pavilion has truly stunning views and is a picture perfect setting. However, the overall experience was let down by the level of service, which lacked the warmth and attentiveness
Compared to other, even lower-rated hotels we’ve stayed at on the island, where staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay, the Fairmont felt impersonal. The service lacked that special touch that makes guests feel truly welcome and cared for.

While the setting is undeniably beautiful, the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations, especially given the Fairmont’s reputation.

Breakfast was underwhelming and the environment was scruffy with birds flying everywhere and fresh and old bird poo on the dining chairs that were old and uncomfortable.

This hotel is NOT the standards of other Fairmont Hotels by any means!

Lovely Place to Stay But Plan on Eating Elsewhere

The property is lovely and the staff were all very friendly but the Food service is a disaster. On our first night we ate in the Palm Terrace and were treated to very thin and very peppery \"Chowder\" with possibly 3 tiny pieces of fish, followed by rubbery and tasteless octopus. The main courses of snapper and lobster trio (that night it was a solo) were equally grossly over-spiced and chewy. You would think better seafood would be available when you can see the water! We had lunch at Taboras and were treated to possibly the worst lobster fritters on the planet. Everything in both restaurants tasted frozen and most likely prepared with a microwave. Even the room service flatbread pizza was terrible, again chewy and clearly straight from the microwave. The staff, while friendly, didn’t seem to know anything about the menu or how the food was prepared. Such a shame to dine in such nice venues with such bad food.
As far as the room goes, we had a lovely seaside Beachfront King Suite, but there was paint peeling, malfunctioning phones and the mini-fridge was “not temperature controlled”, whatever that means. It took nearly 2 days to have a replacement fridge delivered.
As stated, the property is lovely, but need a facelift, some staff training, and a serious overhaul of the food service.

Wonderful time spent at Fairmont. Warm welcome from the moment we stepped on the property. Got a room upgrade and complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary.
The cleaning staff kept the rooms well maintained and replenished the water daily. Ate in the Taboras restaurant and daily breakfast. Great choice and very good food.
Beach lovely and clean, crystal clear waters.
Relaxed, friendly vibe.
Highly reccomend the Fairmont Royal Pavilions

Our room was dripping with water unless we left the a/c on 24/7 and kept the windows shut. It dried out after 3 days and we were told it was normal. Also management took around £800 from my bank account and then paid the money back when we left - they had no authority to do this and I believe it was illegal.

Our stay at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion was amazing, we’ve traveled all over the world and never been treated like family like this staff did! We will definitely return.
Only downside for me is that we visited after Hurricane Beryl and literal 6ft of beach was missing, so lots of rocks and not what I expected. They should state this before. Also wish the palm terrace was open for dinner as well but they said August is slow season and that’s why they weren’t open. Also should have stated this before. Otherwise no complaints here, lovely food options and so tasty! Lovely breakfast buffet as well!
I must shout out the customer service manager- Jason who was extremely pleasant & treated my husband and I for our anniversary. Also the restaurant/ bar manager Hakeem- so pleasant and refreshing! Lastly our baby was sick on this trip and somehow every staff member knew that she was and asked for her everytime my husband left the room. So attentive and considerate! Absolutely adore. Keep up the great work guys, it does not go unnoticed

What a beautiful location. We had a really nice, large, beachfront room, with nice large bathroom. Room us as advertised and we did lay out on the balcony in the sun as the waves rolled in.
The beach is wonderful. Crystal clear warm water that has a nice shallow part, sandy beach that was easy to walk on. I loved that getting a beach chair and umbrella were always easy no matter the time of day.
The staff were all so friendly! Tge grounds were so well maintained!
We started each day with the nice fresh breakfast, which was included, and were always given a nice table overlooking the water.

A lovely hotel the ocean view room was well appointed comfortable and quiet with a lovely large balcony with comfortable seating. Very good restaurants and bar with new furniture. The breakfasts are very good. Access to beach was easy. The ONLY downside they need to get the beach service sorted, it's all a bit haphazard and disorganised and they are missing out on revenue. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. The extensive gardens and ground are very well maintained. Lovely stay and very friendly and helpful staff.

Had a pleasurable stay at the hotel but I would describe the rooms as in need of upgrade and tired. We chose a beachfront suite which allowed us to walk straight out onto our deck and the beach so very happy with that. Other plus points were the staff who are very polite and accommodating and the breakfast which was very high quality and good variation of food each day.

In terms of negatives, the room was noisy and thin walls between rooms and noisy kids upstairs was not great. The room minibar despite a sign saying it would be replenished daily was actually never replenished. There was poor communication from the hotel about any evening entertainment that was happening and because of this we only ate once at the hotel but we’re glad we did as we had some amazing experiences at local restaurants

All in all, a good holiday but this hotel could really do so much better and I don’t think I would choose to return again

This is the place to stay if you want a real feel for the warmth & charm of Barbados & its people instead of a cold impersonal hotel. The staff make you feel like part of their family and give wonderful support in every need of your visit ex. tours. Breakfast was very good. A lot of varieties: hot cold food, pastries fruits coffee tea, so tasteful. Restaurants are great. Want to say a special thank you to all receptionists who helped us so much! Also, the best review to the hotel taxi driver Roger Thompson who showed his professionalism and knowledge of the history of Barbados, will recommend to hire him for the island tour and any other activities. We will recommend the hotel to everyone and will return for sure! Thank you so much for an unforgettable trip and stay.

This property is amazing! But…It’s bit outdated, staff is amazing, doing their best but lack of organization (not on staff but on management). You’ll have 3 different staff members serving you but when it comes to the service, too slow.But as I said they are all amazing! Grounds are impeccable, beach is amazing…The island is fantastic! Do not expect much from restaurants outside of the hotel…stay in! Food Is probably one of the best! Fairmont just have to work on entertainment (jazz can’t help much in the evening). Unless it’s a free cocktail (wine) night…they don’t have too many people hanging around the bar area… And that hotel has a lot of potentials. This is just how I see it and I would go back for sure.

Piece of Paradise!

This is an amazing resort just a few steps from the beach. The beach and color of water is beautiful and clean. The entire staff was amazing and top notch from the time we arrived and were greeted for check-in until the time we left and they for gracious to provide late check out as our flight was not until 5:30 pm. They could not not be more helpful or pleasant. I had a fabulous birthday getaway and am so glad I chose this resort (and I was considering many other places)!! Best resort in Barbados to stay! Also, highly recommend dining at the Cliff (amazing views) and the lunch catamaran cruise. Thank you to the the service members including, Sueshella, Shelly Alleyne, Michael Sealy, Drerrick, and Ashlee (who I took pics of but am having a hard time uploading) for making our trip truly remarkable.

The beach was perfectly situated with plenty of chaises each day and paddle boards, kayaks and other water sports. There’s even a little base in the water you can swim up to, sit on a bench and rest, then jump off. We enjoyed the pool as well.

The staff friendliness and personal touch was what is immediately apparently at the Fairmont. They made us feel like we were the only guests they had staying with them.

If you’re looking for a party atmosphere then this isn’t for you. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, a stunning beach and luxury then the Fairmont is perfection.

We moved onto a different hotel on the south of Barbados for the remainder of our trip and it’s fair to say we didn’t appreciate how good the fairmont was until we left!

We stayed at the Fairmount over New Years. In terms of location and beach front, it has to be one of the best located on the West Coast. Amazing views. I don’t think we can rate the hotel service accurately as due to covid, it seems the hotel was short staffed. The service was extremely slow. Staff were friendly and attentive but everything took a long time. The beach has access to water sports. All rooms have a similar beach view. A really nice pool area. There is no spa at the hotel.

Came back yesterday. It was wonderful! This is not the high season the hotel was not full, which was just fine with me. My experience started at the airport. As soon as I disembarked from the plane there was the hotel staff member waiting to maneuver me through the long line of travelers waiting at customs. I didn’t have to wait in the long lines....now that is service! She brought me to my transportation where the driver picked me up and brought me to the hotel.
At the hotel I was met with a drink, cool towel for my hands and a dessert. Staff is warm,friendly & accommodating. My room was wonderful. My only issue was the minibar was being fixed and the hot water was not available in the mornings. I complained about the water the first morning. They seemed to have addressed the issue at the time but each morning the same thing occurred. Always warm water in the afternoon and evening. The staff was wonderful! Debra the waitresses was excellent. Pearce who was everywhere was excellent and accommodating. He showed me around answered many questions about the island.Access to the beach-wonderful. Sand was soft, water was warm/crystal clear. Plenty of chairs with umbrellas-never a need to fight for chair/umbrella. Food/drink on the beach, thanks Tea! Plenty of watersports led by Ryan! Live entertainment for dinner-tasteful. Complimentary breakfast buffet-lovely. Food was good.They don’t skimp on the alcohol. Rum punch is WOW! Property clean, well kept. Will be back!

What a view!

This was our first trip to Barbados. I loved the location, close to Holetown. The beach was serene. The best part of the hotel was the beautiful balcony & view from our second floor room. The Barbadian people are so kind & welcoming.

Being it was our first time to Barbados, I was a little shocked at the high prices for food, drinks & taxi service. That would be my only complaint.

Our flight arrived in Barbados at 4:45 a.m. We were met at the airport by a representative who walked us through customs, allowed us to pick up some duty free local rum and brought us to a provided car service to transport us to the resort. Check in was at 4:00 p.m. but they were so thoughtful and kind they found a room in our category and did not make us wait until the normal check in time. By 5:30 a.m. we were relaxing in our beautiful room listening to the waves and totaling enjoying our surroundings. I do not think most resorts would accommodate us like that. Thank you very much, Of course every employee we walked by said hello asked us if we needed anything and were very nice.The signature room was great especially the comfortable veranda with the two person lounge three stories up right on the beach. This is my very first review so you should know how much we enjoyed our stay on the best beach on Barbados.

The location and the beach are beautiful and quiet as are the rooms which are great and the property in general. Staff are very friendly and generally attentive.

For the price I would expect more convenience offerings to be included in the rate. It comes across as a bit cheap for such an expensive hotel for example that airport transport is not just included for all guests.
The food is also good (especially breakfast) but expensively priced for what it is, would exceed expectations more if the price was say 20% less.

Generally speaking though we had a fantastic stay and would recommend to others.

Awesome place to call home for a week (or more)

Great stay. Everything you would expect from Fairmont. However, dont be fooled that the \"meet and greet\" service at BGI Airport is an actual transfer to the hotel. Noooooo. Its just someone to walk you through immigration and then you are still on the hook for getting to the hotel yourself. They make a big deal about knowing your flight info for this which is silly - it is a meet and greet only. Big deal.

Delightful hotel

I have stayed at the Royal Pavillion in the past and it is always a pleasure to return.
The staff are all charming and the new rooms are elegant and comfortable.

I notice that the menu now includes more Bajan food, which I found a little too spicy for my taste.
Also the live music was rather intrusive at times. When sitting in the bar it was sometimes difficult to hear what people were saying.

The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Loved the view from the balcony and the proximity to the beach. The food in the restaurants was very good. Access to the beach recliners was awesome. My only critique was the lack of communication. I had to go to the front desk a number of times to ask questions, when I felt there should have been written material left in my room detailing the specifics about the amenities available to me, my airport transfer, high tea, etc.
