From the moment you check in you’re greeted by the nicest team of front office staff. Shakira was an absolute superstar and Terry from ops was also great. Clean, well kept, beautiful location that is second to none. Oh and the guys in landscaping are absolute artists because the grounds are pristine.

Port St Charles is an amazing place. Sea turtles and various species of fish swim and play amongst the boats parked at the marina. Our 3 kids (13,11,9) never got tired of walking the docks each day to see what they could see. We were there in the off season, and it was very quiet. A perfect time to watch the marine life.
Every day we used the water taxi to take us to Pier 1 restaurant. We ate great meals and used the beach chairs on the deck. We went snorkelling and swam with sea turtles. We swam across the channel from Pier 1 to the beach there and watched the wide variety of boats come in and out of the lagoon at Port St Charles.
Our two bedroom apartment was cleaned to perfection every day. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of towels for all of us.
The gym at Port St Charles is excellent and is fully air conditioned.
The ONLY negative for us was that one of the bedrooms had windows with wooden slats that allowed the hot air into the room. The room did have an air conditioner and a fan, but they were not effective during a week of high heat and humidity.
To be fair, I did not raise this issue with the front desk. We were all tired out at the end of each day, so the kids passed out every night with no complaining. We all loved our room and its location and did not want to move to another room, so we tolerated it and had a great week. I only mention it so others are aware.
Port St Charles is a wonderfully unique experience. Stay here if you can!

Wonderful trip to Barbados
We have had a wonderful 2 weeks in Barbados and staying at Port St Charles made it perfect. The appartment was 1st class and we were in an ideal location to visit anywhere on the island. The staff were lovely - nothing too much trouble and it was laid back and comfortable - couldn’t fault it!!

Well appointed and equipped apartment - fabulous view over the lagoon and marina - real treat to spot the sea turtles in the lagoon. The hotel staff couldn’t do enough to help us and suggested super trips. Felt totally relaxed as we left to return to the U.K. I’d happily return to Port St Charles. We found the resort quiet (which we like). There will be further developments in Speightstown in the near future - I don’t know if building noise will be audible from the Marina. There are works to the neighbouring beach at the moment but it did not bother us at all. The bars and restaurants of Speightstown are within walking distance of Port St Charles and the busses running down the west coast leave from Speightstown too.

Wonderful resort and exceptional staff
We had a wonderful experience staying at Port St Charles for the first time and we can’t wait to book again next year. The property is beautiful, tranquil and fantastically well maintained. The unit we stayed in was on the island in the marina and was a haven of peace with humming birds in the tropical flowers and turtles swimming in the boat dock outside our terrace. The staff at reception, housekeeping and at the yacht club restaurant were without exception some of the friendliest and most customer service orientated individuals we have had the pleasure of meeting. An exceptional stay in every respect and we would recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful and beautiful place to stay in a relatively unspoiled part of the island.

Nice Place Poor Employees
The condo was very nice in every respect. the owner put together a well equipped and thought out condo. The facility was large, this required a water taxi to reasonably move about the facility. The taxi was posted to start at 9:00, he never arrived before 10:30. He was dismissive and rude about hours of operation, my family had to wait an hour to get picked up. He parked in front of our condo and would take breaks every hour plus a 1 hour lunch. At least 3 other guests mentioned the poorness of the water taxi driver. SHOULD BE FIRED!
Otherwise the help was typical Caribbean non initiative, but they were friendly, and the place is beautiful.
I would recommend getting a place on the South end of the complex to mitigate having to use the water taxi.

Perfect holiday destination on the West Coast
We had a super apartment with views across the Marina from the spacious balcony, which was very well equipped with lounge and dining furniture. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, there was a large lounge area, and the kitchen very well equipped.It was a short stroll to the sandy beach which faces the Yacht Club. The Yacht Club was a great place for morning coffee, drinks, lunch or an evening meal. The Sunday lunchtime buffet with steel band playing was great. All in all a lovely relaxing holiday.
Good idea to take a hire car for your stay so that you can explore the island, take a trip down to Holetown for some shopping, or to visit the many restaurants along the West Coast. Meals are expensive though!

Top service, Good Community, Narrow Roads
Port St Charles is not a hotel, it is a residential community with some managed rental units. The property management firm does a fine job: their staff is courteous and responsive (frankly better than some hotels).
Onsite restaurant service is very nice, water taxi to beach is nice touch.
Port St Charles is small which lends itself to more intimate and attentive service. What will sell you on Port St Charles is the service...everyone from housekeeping, restaurant, reception to landscapers.
We would definately stay at Port St Charles again.

Currently crime is low (we drove the whole island without worry), people are warm, plenty of activities, abundance of fresh foods, true island feel...but the roads are dangerously narrow with no lane markers for the most part.
Second strike is lack of quality beachfront means barbados beachfront is not competitively priced in our review.
A third strike is the affluence gap between locals and tourist is evident - this is indicative that crime is likely to rise in future, unless something is done to narrow the gap.

Great resort with beautiful beach
The location is a bit far from the airport and from most restaurants, so renting a car is a must. However, this place is definitely a great place to stay at. The villas are spacious. The maid service is excellent. The water taxi that picks you up is a fun experience. The beach is so calm and you can just float all day.

This is the 3rd time in less than a year we have returned to this resort. We love it, the rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable. The views over the lagoon are fantastic. For a relaxing quiet break your can't beat it. Nearby Speightstown has some good bars & restaurants and a morning stroll along the beach for breakfast is a great way to start the day.

Although we vacation in Barbados a lot, this was our first experience staying at Port St. Charles. Our main-floor, lagoon-view unit, with double covered patio and private plunge pool was very spacious, and beautifully furnished. The best part of Port St. Charles is that yachts, sailboats, catamarans, and other private recreational watercraft are moored within view of the all-waterfront units and the oceanfront beach. Those seeking a luxurious, safe, quiet, couples or family-vacation will thoroughly enjoy Port St. Charles.

Stayed at a harbor side 1 BR unit with large terrace overlooking the lagoon. AMAZING!!! The place is so very private - incredible beach, with good snorkeling right offshore. The landscaping is so beautifully kept around the buildings; various yachts and boats sprinkled throughout the lagoon. Its a unique Marina environment, yet there is a nice pool and stellar beach to use. There is full kitchen too. This is not a full service resort, so no room service, or water sports rentals or anything like that, but to me, the quiet privacy, and peaceful atmosphere compare to busy huge resort - the experience was just THE BEST! No comparison! Concierge service was stellar, and everyone on the premises very friendly. It felt like coming to our home in Barbados - really great experience!

I had driven by Port St. Charles on several trips to Barbados, so when I saw it online I booked it! We stayed here on our second week of a recent trip to Barbados, splitting between resorts. The views are truly spectacular, no matter what room you are in. We looked out to perfect sunsets over the marina and onto the beach. The amazing service began right after booking and all through check out. The unit was really well stocked with every comfort of home. It was great to explore this part of the island and new restaurants. I travel to Barbados several times a year and I will be back here for sure. If you are looking at this place, do yourself a favor...book it!
