Very nice room, but had to run the water for a very long time to clear the brown colour enough to get a bath, so for peace of mind, bought a large bottle of water to make a cup of tea. Booked on Expedia and seemingly paid more for room only than a direct booking cost with breakfast, but it’s a lesson learned about Expedia. In all, a decent quiet room with good parking.

It is a very pleasant and sizeable conversion from, I would guess, an upper-grade country pub. Rooms clean and comfortable with all the amenities. Lots of parking for those who come by car, which I would guess are most customers in that part of rural Warwickshire. Staff very pleasant and helpful. My only beef is that the bar and dining room were rather chilly for a late April evening — too optimistic about the weather? And it would be nice to have somewhere to have afternoon tea, but again, I guess that most visitors are out sightseeing for most of the day.

Our stay was very good and the staff were brilliant, i was surprised with the changes that had been done, gone were the areas of cosiness and in place was a large quantity of similar chairs, lacking comfort. It has definitely been changed for the worst, dissapointing.

Perfect hotelfor guests with no regard for others

Guests in the room above me had an all night party. The floors were so thin that I could clearly hear individual conversations and constant walking up and down (although the party-goers could not hear my pleas to allow my 7 year old daughter to sleep). I could only reach the hotel’s voicemail and as far as I can tell no one was on duty to help. In the morning the receptionist rather unhelpfully told me that someone ‘should’ have been on duty

We have stayed here many times and never had any issues but I can safely say we won’t be staying again. Check in should be till 10 o’clock, when I phoned the hotel at 8.15pm we was told if we wasn’t there by 9 o’clock we wouldn’t have a room. When we arrived we were told the room we had booked in the main hotel wasn’t available because they had turned the heating off in the building due to cost of living. We was also told that the hotel bar and hotel would be closed at 9 o’clock and the receptionist said have you got a torch because you will need one to get to your room. We was then told that we would have to walk up the side of the busy main road look for a gap in the hedge as our room was in the court yard, we also had to climb over a small wall to get to the gap in the hedge. We was also told that their wouldn’t be a breakfast service as there was not enough guests and it wasn’t worth the chief coming in, also the outside light didn’t, and the toilet didn’t flush properly. Overall our stay wasn’t very enjoyable at all.

Lovely ladies on check-in, despite one being \"on training\" to work front desk there was no delay or frustration. Room is well equipped and functional. Nice clean bathroom and a quiet nights sleep. Excellent choice to stay for events in Stratford or in our case for The Game Fair at Ragley Hall

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is a little out of the way which is fairly evident from a map when booking the hotel. Overall, its a reasonably good hotel for the price. As I've been there a few times, it would be good if they didn't charge me for a slightly later checkout (12 midday rather than 10am on a Sunday when there were relatively few people there and the clocks just changed to lose 1 hour) ;)

We had a very short one night stay but as far as we could tell the hotel seemed nice and clean. Staff welcoming. Our room was clean, nice bedding towels etc. Toilet hard to flush. Lovely dark curtains so could sleep in but the bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable for me personally and the Pillows too hard. Receptionist did say she would make a note and maybe the mattress needed replacing. We would probably stay again if we can't get our usual hotel when visiting family in the area. . Breakfast was plentiful and acceptable. Lovely coffee, and fresh yoghurt. Bacon little dry though.

Dusappointing

Should have realised when the receptionist was happy ro put us second to her conversation in the office just what our stay might be like.
We were asked for card details to be charged in the morning. I explained we had paid in advance and showed the confirmation but still had to give the card detail. Wish I hadnt really and that we had just driven home.
We had a busy day and just wanted a relaxing evening. Felt we should have been informed that their pub was hosting some parties. Even though the room was the otherside of the car parking you could feel the thumping of the base. It was so warm in the room we tried to open the windows but at that point we could hear every song and every word. Fair play in getting the business, but common decency says at least tell us it was going until midnight.
The room was okay, bed was comfortable but will choose more carefully in future.
Happy to be gone in the morning and will not be back.

Pet friendly hotel says Expedia, but when we arrived it’s only a few (of many) rooms. Thankfully they had one left but not in the configuration we needed so we had to pay for an extra room… The room itself was right next to the external door into the main extension, listened to the door open and shut all night and morning, in desperate need of paint and tlc, been badly repainted in areas. Window frames covered in black mould. Was so glad we were on our way home the next day.

The room was on the road side of the hotel and the secondary double glazing was next to useless in keeping out the traffic noise which was non-stop. When commenting on check-out, the receptionist was quite disimissive of our complaint.

Unhappy stay need good cleaners

On arrival we were greeted by reception very nicely but after that apart from the meal we had at the Twisted Boot which was nice and the staff were very plesant everything then went downhill. We were told we were in a chalet room because we had a dog with us, this wwould have been good but it was very substandard and not too clean. In these days of covid it should have smelt clean at least but it didn't and the walls and windows and paintwork were very grubby and the windows had a gap in them that let in the night air and was also very insecure and rotting in places. This was an overnight stay on our way back from the South, we could not have stood another night there. We have stayed in better travelodges than this hotel. The only positive thing can be said was the bed was very comfortable but that is about it.

We had an evening meal in a room with no windows, didn't repeat this. It would have been good to eat breakfast outside, given that we're in the time of Covid. We booked a premier room and it was large, comfortable and clean. The staff were generally very helpful and courteous. The breakfasts and one evening meal were very good. We would recommend the hotel and would happily stay here again. Breakfast outside would be the icing on the cake!

This hotel is located in a rural setting which is quite nice - it was quiet at night as there were many business users - this is a good thing. Stayed here 4 years ago but this time the bed seemed worn and sloped down towards the headboard slightly (I slept the other way on the bed)....shower leaked a little and there was slight mould. Overall, the staff were polite and professional but the place is feeling a little rundown and in need of a bit of attention.

Avoid rooms with Damp

We were there for a family wedding nearby. On checking in we were provided with at room that smelt like a whole can of air freshner had been emptied in the room.

This made my sinus go haywire so we asked to change the room - which was done

On a closer look we found that there was damp and mould at the back of the wardrobe and had we left our clothes in the wardrobe overnight the clothes would have come out damp and not wearable
Other people in our party had the same experience with different rooms

Understand that the hospitality sector has gone through a tough time but covering up damp in rooms with air-freshner is not the answer to recovery

Had no power or water the hole night or morning wasn’t able to wash or charge our phones with a 5 hour drive the next morning with little power the staff where running around the place shouting on the phone at 1130pm was not happy with my stay and there was no receptionist to speak to in the morning

I have stayed there before and enjoyed my previous experience, but this time it was a lot different. Strangely I stayed in the same room, which was single glazed right next to the main road and the traffic was noisy from about 5.30-6am. Additionally, the staff seemed like they were more interested in having a chat than focusing on customer requirements, there was no cold water (i left it running for a couple of mins and moved the tap to both sides and still boiling hot)in the bathroom, which wasnt great on a warm night. Everything closed at 10 even if a resident. Probably wouldnt stay again.

The reception desk is always empty so we had to walk around looking for people to check in and check out.
The only other issues
was the kettle was dusty and not clean.
When we wanted the steak for dinner at 8.00pm they had no steaks left which was a bit disappointing.

Stayed here as visiting family living in Alcester. Nice big room. Everything clean and well organised especially as we are in the middle of the Covid pandemic. Good full English breakfast served. Again well organised and delivered to accommodate Covid restrictions. Nice bar connected which we were able to visit briefly for a drink in the evening. Not as close to Alcester town centre as I would have preferred but it is only a short drive away.

Loads of errors on facilities of room. No air con, no premium tv channels. I paid for a premier room to get these and got neither. Couldn't even offer a fan for the room. No offer of any discount either. Communal stairs to rooms were pretty messy, walls in room a bit grubby. Stuck outside in rain for 30 minutes due to faulty fire alarm, no hot water for shower on second day. A bit faulty towers. Restaurant and bar staff very good though.

It is not restaurant food husband had the fish and chips not a lot of fish in the batter and chips were fries not chips. I had hunters chicken that also came with fries not chips. Very impressed with this hotel.
Can't fault the rooms or the service, nothing was too much trouble.
Slightly confusing with the £4 off if you spend £20 on food and drinks, as a weekend away for a family of 6 people we were told only one couple could claim the £4.00 each even though we spent over £180.00 at one sitting but occupied 3 rooms!!
Make things simple - either make the food cheaper or knock a percentage off the whole bill otherwise it may lead to friction from customers!! (my only criticism).

This is a lovely place to stay for getting around the local area. Quiet and very comfortable with large, spacious rooms and a cosy dining area.
Very nice breakfast selection and even has hot drink making facilities in the room. Friendly staff and an all round great experience.
Would definitely stay again if in the area.
