Stayed in barn room. Corridors smelt heavily of damp. Room was clean but well worn with stains on carpet and drawers that didn’t stay closed. Limited hanging storage.

Nice grounds and spa good. Very friendly and helpful staff. However, waited over an hour for dinner order to arrive in the restaurant. Also, breakfast buffet needs replenishing/monitoring more frequently. Plus toaster needs replacing as unsafe.

The bar areas are particularly stunning! Breakfast if buffet style. When we arrived there seemed to be a lack of staff, no meet & greet & no staff to take coffee order (one server was having a nice ling chat with guest)! I was impressed with maintenance response to my call on checking in to find water in the lobby, seeping in under the emergency exit. The bed & amenities were comfortable.

The manor House was amazing. We wanted to just relax. The facilities available were in great condition the spa was relaxing the food was beautifully presented and delicious and the stuff were kind helpful and happy. We will definitely recommend it will be going back. Thank you.

Breakfast selection was good. Fresh ingredients and freshly prepared.Good portions. Good service. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Very comfortable bed. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bar is well stocked, and the lounge areas are comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed the pool/sauna & steam room. Dinner menu was ok. Not a massive choice, and a bit pricy. But good food & ingredients.Portions were a bit diappointing though. Overall a great stay and will definately return. The beautiful building & friendly staff really make this place. Also a short drive of just 15 minites to Stratford, which is well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful stay at Billesley Manor Hotel & Spa for 2 nights after Christmas as a family of 5. We have been here before but this time we stayed in the main manor part of the hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, breakfast was amazing, dinner was delicious too! Service from everyone who works in the hotel were just brilliant! We’ll definitely recommend this hotel to everyone, and we will no doubt be coming back again.

It needs to be clearer when booking a room if it will be in the lovely house that is in all the pictures or in an annexe that feels functional rather than special. We booked a superior king believing we would be in the house, so were disappointed that it wasn't the birthday treat we thought it was going to be. We had to move rooms( still in the annexe) due to a barking dog in the room next to us, which made us feel that they were lesser rooms. The specifications on the booking were not matched as we had no robes or coffee machine in room. The bar and restaurant staff were all good and helpful. We would recommend that you check where the accommodation is before booking to make sure your not disappointed.

Whilst the building and gardens are beautiful to look at both inside and out, and the food / drinks were good, we couldn't help but feel let down by the service and cleanliness of room right from the start of our stay.
First impressions count a lot, particularly when you expect the basics to be right when you're paying that little bit extra for a Xmas break away. Reservations were mixed up meaning people had the wrong rooms, by which time we felt it too much convenience to rearrange. and one of the rooms was cold and musty along with a note from staff left on inside of door to one of their friends we imagine. Spa and pool not particularly clean both in changing rooms and pool itself with hair, wet towels all over the place. Took an age to be served for drinks (over 20 mins on at least 3 occasions during the evening and during breakfast). Unable to cater for busy periods and seemed mostly inexperienced staff. TBH, for the price and the occasion, we were very underwhelmed. We did let some staff know during our stay but to no avail.

The whole hotel gives a welcoming feeling.
The room we book was beautiful, overlooking the gardens. The bed was so large you could get lost in it.
I loved the quirky library, bar and lounge areas just to sit and relax.

Gorgeous hotel!

Beautiful building with a fascinating history.
As an older guest I found the rabbit warren of corridors and endless staircases stressful. We were actually given a room at the very end of a corridor on the third floor( there is no lift). Happily the hotel changed that for us and so we enjoyed our stay. My advice is if you have any mobility problems you should let the hotel know on booking a room!!
It’s a lovely hotel in a lovely setting and the staff are excellent. Our dinner was very enjoyable and all things considered, I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. It’s really close to Stratford with all its delights.

We arrived at the hotel and from the outside it was lovely but once walking around the grounds was very disappointed, broken tables and poorly kept grounds. The hotel corridors were dirty and very dated.
The room was an ok size, bathroom had recently been renovated which was nice but the bathrobes were extremely worn and in need of being replaced.
The view from our room was non existent as it looked out onto an extremely noisy air con system which made sleeping very difficult.
The restaurant was nice, some music for atmosphere would make it a lot better. The food was great but the service was at times lax with having to ask for cutlery and napkins several times then again a long wait and asking a second time for the wine which we had reordered.
The breakfast was lovely and plentiful.
Overall I would have been a lot happier having paid half the price of what we did. It needs a lot of work in places to make this hotel the grandeur it should have. I left feeling a little disappointed overall.

Lovely historical hotel, friendly staff who could never do too much, lovely spa. Wedding event meant it was quite busy when we arrived. Check in would have been quicker if the bloke in front of us wasn’t after every discount or upgrade he wasn’t entitled to. The weather was even great making it lovely to sit in the grounds in the evening. Gardens were sculpted to within an inch of their lives.

As I arrived the sun was shining, guests were enjoying afternoon tea in the garden with the fountain behind them. The view was tranquil and inviting.
The hotel is very attractive on the outside with well kept gardens and grounds. Given the heatwave we have had this year they have clearly done a lot of work to keep the flower borders interesting.
The reception staff were welcoming and efficient.
The room was in one of the barns and very clean.
The soap dispenser by the shower had either blocked or run out which was disappointing.
The buffet breakfast was well presented, just surprising that there was only tinned fruit available - where were the local summer fruits?
I was visiting a friend nearby so did not eat at the hotel but the menu looked inviting.
I would certainly be happy to stay again in the future.

Great welcome by the staff member at reception after 11pm. I had run out of phone battery & missed a train from London and was concerned no one would be available to check me in but instead the helpful young man even sorted out a glass of wine & some crisps for me & brought them to me even though the bar was closed. So kind, showed me to my room aswell as I was concerned it might be out of the way and in the basement & was going to upgrade if so.
I needn’t have worried, clean and spacious and nicely decorated room, modern bathroom with strong shower & lovely molton brown products. Water in fridge. Air con actually worked and didn’t keep me awake. Only improvement could be nespresso or filter coffee rather than instant sachet.

This hotel could be so much…..but lack of attention to detail are spoiling its potential.

Asked for late checkout when checking in, was told they would get back to me…they didn’t

Lots of exterior lighting was not working which meant that the gardens could have looked incredible but instead just looked good.

Had to queue for breakfast and was left standing outside the breakfast room for 11 minutes. No apology offered.

Lots of omissions at breakfast….no tea spoons, had to ask for plates, ketchup bowl empty, no sweetener available, very basic filter coffee.

No guest information folder in the room. First time I’ve experienced that.

Our room was up a very steep and narrow staircase and I think we should have been offered assistance with our bags.

This was not a cheap stay, the hotel is a stunning building in a fabulous setting, the room was large and comfortable but all the greatness was let down.

Lovely peaceful hotel, lots of grounds to walk around . We went with our dog he loved it.
The only downside , it wasn’t set up to eat with your dog for dinner & breakfast at a dinner table, just a coffee table. So we ate in our room. They do have plenty of small rooms where one could be set up for owners with their dogs.

From the first minute we walked through the door you could tell the hotel was a very special place, steeped in history and charm a truly beautiful place and staff were excellent, we only stayed one night but will be back again hopefully when the weather gets warmer I could imagine it’s even better when the weather improves in summer, breakfast was fantastic and you could see quality produce has been used , slight niggle, we wasn’t offered the option is poached eggs it was only when I saw others at another table, also the bathroom has a bit of dust over light fittings a mirrors

Stay in room 50, both nights experienced a repetitive banging noise around 1'oclock in the morning, lasted around 15 to 20 minutes. Assuming it was to do with the generator near the property.

Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Really like the bath and shower set -up (you'll know what I mean when you see it).
Breakfast was tasty and staff well organised.
Staff, generally, very polite.
We had to wait 40 minutes for our room to be ready even though we arrived at 15:00.
Rooms are not well sign-posted and require a bit of finding. Leisure centre, particularly the pool, requires some up-grading.
Overall we were very happy with our stay and would go back, which says a lot.

Not having a room in the main hotel building, at check in, asking for payment and taking payment when already paid for the 2 night stay. They did however agree to refund. The restaurant staff appeared to be disorganised with a lack of leadership, on the whole the food was quite good apart from luke warm soup and items no served with dishes.The limited dining times were not agreeable to us. Also no robes in the annex room, safe locked and no soap/lotion n the bathroom dispenser.

Attractive hotel with history.

Attractive hotel, not dated or faded as some manor hotels can be. We were really appreciative of the smaller details and how the historic details of the building were accentuated and not hidden.

Staff were lovely and happy to help, particularly a young gentleman who served us in the restaurant.

Excellent, well priced meal and I can absolutely recommend the truffle risotto - divine.

My only negative comment would be that the restaurant appears to be trying to be overly formal. It was very hushed even thought it was nearly full, there wasn’t much of an atmosphere, we felt we had to be quiet.

Overall good stay room no one on reception on check in and check out though help appeared quickly. Room clean and comfortable could open the windows, - desk chair too low for using table (I am 5’6 and it was not suitable for sitting to use laptop) no milk with tea station had to go ask for a jug, bathroom no frills eg no cotton wool, sanitary bags, or extras like that but dispensers for all essentials. Breakfast ok, no mushrooms with cooked breakfast!
Beware old building so lots of stairs and fire doors no obvious lift available and the signs are a bit lacking I got lost on way to reception! Staff polite and smiley well done.

Wonderful stay. Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms we stayed in the manor double which was gorgeous and a very good size. Slightly limited breakfast options given the price. Spa is lovely, however we went during half term and had to wait about an hour to get in as it got quite busy. Otherwise nice spa facilities, great gym and stunning grounds. Very accessible to Stratford upon Avon city centre and a nice a quiet place away.

We upgraded to stay in the main building as we wanted to use the spa facilities, the outer building rooms would have meant going outside which was not ideal. We had a lovely stay, the only disappointment was the speed of service in the restaurant, we waited a long time for the food to be served. But on saying that the food was good. we decided to eat in the bar area on the 2nd night and the food arrived very quickly. This is our 2nd trip to this hotel and we would return again. the Location to Stratford is excellent and beautiful setting. Each time the weather has not be good, so the spa facilities were ideal.

The room and hotel are delightful and everything you would expect from an historical hotel. Room large and opulent and breakfast plentiful and delicious. Evening meal was also delicious and not too overpriced. A few areas that could further improve the experience:
1. Install a lift for those who find the very narrow staircase difficult
2. Ensure walk up availability to the spa as there was no availability at all even though we stayed 4 nights
3. Change the children time in the pool as between 4:30 - 6:30 would seem to be the prime time and as such it was impossible to swim
4. Finally a snooker table and a hot tub would put the hotel on a par with similar properties we have previously frequented in the area
Would return though as the staff very accommodating and a lot to see in the area.

Second visit to this particular hotel, convenient location for visiting Stratford upon Avon. Previously stayed in a barn room which was spacious & quiet, this time stayed in the cosy double in the main hotel. The room was small & quirky but big enough for a short stay for two, however the room can be quite noisy with a close proximity to the kitchen & stairwell to the other rooms. We visited the spa during our stay for a treatment & cream tea which was very enjoyable.

Not the first time. My fav Hotel and SPA in England. Standards are very high and the price is still reasonable. The atmosphere is magical as always. Breakfast is great. I wish I could spend more nights. The location is perfect to visit north of Stratford-upon-Avon and north of Cotswold.

Beautiful hotel and location. Such a relaxing atmosphere with beautiful gardens. The service was impeccable from all staff involved, nothing was too much trouble. Already planning our return trip.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel

I was particularly pleased with this choice of hotel for my overnight stay. The only problem was one of noise created by inconsiderate residents who could not - or would not - control their barking dogs.
However, after reporting the matter to Reception at night, it was dealt with effectively by the member of staff on duty. Unfortunately, the barking started again 06.30 - 07.00 but not in the continuous way of the day before.
I would just suggest that the hotels warns dog-owners of their responsibilities when booking and I would commend the Receptionist for his effective action.

Weekend side trip.

What a WONDERFUL stay. I will be back. I would love to come back for Christmas. Fantastic experience from staff to the room. Lucked out on my room. Super quiet with 2 windows. Utilized the spa, sauna, and massage, which was nice after spending the day walking around Stratford Upon Avon. Easy to find, plenty of parking, and nice little walking paths. Food was delicious! 20 our of 10.
