Great location, staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel provides an excellent choice for breakfast. We have stayed here several times over the past few years, but noticed during our recent visit, that certain areas of the hotel would benefit from ‘a spruce up’. The room we stayed in had a bit of an odour( possibly the carpet) and the duvet cover on the bed had a very noticeable hole in it. The room was clean, but it would have benefited from an update. We were a bit disappointed this time, but we would stay again.

Friendly staff and a delicious breakfast too. It’s so close to Stratford that you can just park the car up and literally cross the road and you’re at the river, theatre, shops, pubs, restaurants and museums. We would highly recommend a stay at the Swans Nest Hotel 😊

The reception staff were lovely, however, the hotel furnishings are very tired. Pillow cases were marked with what looked like mascara and a bright green substance, carpets and chairs worn looking, and catches broken on the windows so not secure. House keeping cleared my room and took away my personal belongings (before 11am) whilst I was out for a morning walk without checking if I had checked out.

Nice atmosphere in the bar area (called the Bear) 10% of drinks for residents appreciated. The room itself was clean when I arrived, but felt quite dusty overall. Because the rooms are right above the pub attached nights tend to be quite loud and there's consistent booming of the bass speakers that makes the room shake with the beat. Halfway through my stay, there was a power outage in the entire hotel with little warning for a whole day (9-5), with the only notification I got about it being a note that was slipped under my door. The note also failed to inform me that the water and toilets would not be in use in that time either, which caused much distress. When mentioned, the reception staff seem to feel no need for extra explanation or compensation, only offering to pay for food that had gone bad in my room minifridge during the power outage when I asked for it specifically and nothing else.

I had the most wonderful room in the old part of the building. Warm and spacious, comfy bed, lovely seating and dressing area, clean bathroom with a lovely shower! I didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Quick and easy walk over the lovely river to the RSC and Stratford. Parking on site is easy but limited, but there is plenty of parking nearby.

The internet was fine. We had a room that could have been cleaned a bit more and the glasses in the bathroom had toothpaste in one of them. The staff was easy going, easy to talk to. The atmosphere was relaxed, we enjoyed it very much. Our bed was not made the day after our first night either. But we were out all day, therefore it was not an issue.
