Clean, beautiful rooms. A lovely stay with wonderful food. The reception staff were polite enough, but restaurant staff were excellent One disappointment was that we were allocated an accessible room and so there was no shower cubicle and the water soaked the whole floor of the bathroom. There was only one bedside table as it was removed and there was nowhere to put makeup on as the bathroom had nowhere to place a wash bag close enough to the mirror. The room was quite dark so no natural light to see to put makeup on. We asked to change rooms and the receptionist said that they couldn’t help as all rooms were allocated, yet we had arrived early enough to discuss a room and were told that our room wasn’t ready. It seems we were allocated a room last as we went out to explore and the other non-accessible rooms were given to other guests.
We loved the hotel decor and the HB package included all the choices at a surcharge for some dishes. The restaurant staff were very helpful and recommended wine to accompany the main meals. I would stay here again using the HB package, but I would ring ahead to ask for a room that wasn’t accessible on the day of arrival.

I booked a NYE overnight stay, double room, however, I was told on my arrival that they only had accessible rooms available and they were fully booked to upgrade me. I was asked if this was ok, which I agreed, as I had no other option and didn’t check in until 6:00pm. The hotel is well situated, staff were friendly and the room was clean.

Having stayed earlier in the week at the excellent HDV in Tunbridge wells i had high hopes for this hotel and expected it to be of a similar standard.
Reception staff were excellent but when i arrived for dinner at 8.44pm i was told that i couldn't eat. Essentially this was because it was inconvenient for \"chef\" who wanted to go home.

The service was a bit disappoiunting. Excellent check in and pleased they confirmned that I had paid in advance. I was therefore a bit disappointed when they sought to charge me twice on my check out. Worth keeping your details handy. As a vegan there is only one main meal on room service, which I was keen to have - when you book a nice hotel you want to stay there - and so dissapoiunted that they dind't have it or think to try and offer something lese. A vegan burger cannot be that hard. But it also had the feel of being short staffed in the bar / restaurant, which might be part of it. Shame as I have stayed here before and liked it.

We stayed from yesterday to today for our 4th consecutive anniversary visit. It’s become a tradition for us, and we don’t mind spending quite a bit on a one-night stay because it’s such a special occasion. We loved our room, along with the adorable swan towels, chocolate truffles, and the lovely card from the team.

We had an okay night’s sleep, but there was a loud tapping or dripping sound in or near our room that disturbed us throughout the night. This morning at breakfast something we usually really look forward to we had a less pleasant experience. When we requested breakfast from the woman who appeared to be the manager (she was dressed differently from the waitresses), her manner felt quite cold. I asked if I could put together a breakfast with eggs and hash browns, and I was about to ask for beans when she started listing options. When I mentioned hash browns, it felt as though she was looking down on us. That may not have been her intention, but her demeanour came across that way.

It’s a shame this stay didn’t feel as warm as usual. My partner had a similar impression of her the evening before at the bar, so I’m not sure if this is typical,the rest of the staff were absolutely lovely. We ended the night with dinner at Zizzi’s, where the staff were wonderfully engaging and even surprised us with complimentary Prosecco to toast our wedding.

Overall, it was just disappointing that the experience wasn’t quite as special as it has been in previous years.

The staff was fine, the facility was in good repair, the furniture was threadbare in our suite, there was plenty of hot water, and the bed was comfortable. The lighting was terrible. It was to the point where you couldn’t see anything, put on makeup or even find a light switch. The room was dark at all times of the. day and night. The few lights had such dim lightbulbs you couldn’t see anything. It really affected the quality of our stay. We were located in one their king suites. I doubt that I will try one of their other properties because they are evidently decorated with the same dark aesthetic.

Room was brilliant, bar was great, service was largely excellent. Breakfast was the only thing that let it down - service was poor (and somewhat rude) and the quality of the food (both hot and continental buffet) didn’t match the price. This is the third Hotel Du Vin I’ve stayed in around the country, and the first where I’ve left the breakfast disappointed. Would also advise people to avoid visiting Stratford during the Mop Fair, unless having a fun fair directly outside the hotel is what you want.

This is such a fantastic hotel. The property is very nice - clean, quiet, convenient. What sets it apart however is the fantastic staff. The women at the reception when we arrived was incredibly helpful. She waited outside in the rain to help with a parking spot. The included breakfast was delicious. Miranda went out of her way to prepare a breakfast to bring up to my wife who was running a bit behind schedule. We were able to walk to all of the important areas within the city. Great choice overall.

The room was smart and stylish and a comfortable temperature for sleeping. We were able to leave our bags before and after check-in while we looked around the town. The only downside was parking, there was no space in the adjacent car park so we had to park 10 minutes walk away.
We would recommend Hotel du Vin and would be glad to visit again.

Location was perfect for a first time stay in Stratford upon Avon. It was very central and an easy walk into town centre where we planned our sightseeing. Facilities at hotel were great. Worth downloading the Ring-go parking app as bedroom overlooking car park and in close proximity. We didn’t use the car for the duration of our 2 night stay.
Staff were excellent and happy to help - including assisting my sister with breakfast options to take back to room when I was unfortunately not feeling well on morning of departure.
We will definitely consider a return to hotel for a future visit as we missed out on a couple of historical landmarks!!

We stayed at the Hotel Du Vin on our wedding night. We checked in online which was a very quick and simple process.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a suitcase which we wanted to take to the hotel prior to checking in. This was absolutely no problem and as our room was ready, we were able to take the case to our room far in advance of normal check in time.
When we returned to our room, a bottle of bubbly had been provided which was a lovely touch and gratefully received.
Breakfast the next morning was fabulous with an excellent choice on the menu. Again, the staff were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
We would highly recommend this establishment any time.

The room was very nice. The major downside for us related to the air conditioning. While it was a very warm three days, it wasn’t insanely warm however the room air conditioning was unable to keep the room cool and the fan barely worked at all. This led to three sleepless nights. The windows didn’t provide much ventilation because they were small. As the planet warms, this will be a major downside for this hotel.

A treat night stay post theatre in Stratford

Perfectly placed in Stratford and parking available for a reasonable cost. Very comfortable room. Very friendly staff.

The service Sat evening in the bar it was easy to see the staff were stretched and although they were friendly and attentive it felt a bit stressful for them.

I chose a crab and fennel salad starter and treated myself to a non alcoholic cocktail for a tenner - and it was a bit disappointing. The salad was sparse and it was a case of spot the crab & fennel and my mocktail was really very tasteless sadly. My husband meanwhile had delicious prawns and perfect chips.

We booked three nights half board while the food was of a high quality the half board menu was very limited and the same for the whole of our stay and also not all of the items, one being fish, the other chicken, then broccoli dish and lastly salad were available limiting the menu even more. If I had realised this I would not have booked the half board option.

The Taitinger room was up 2 flights of stairs and in a very old part of the hotel. It was renovated but there was mold smell. We had to stay in that room because there were no other rooms available. We had booked a suite but it didn’t specify where it was in the hotel. I ended with breathing problems and wheezing. The next day hotel switched us to a newer part of the hotel where there was no smell of mould.

Lovely looking hotel, with 5 car parking spaces outside the front which you can reserve with reception. There is a car park to the back of this hotel which is very handy.

We stayed on the 1st floor in the Wairau River room. The bed was very comfortable, no complaints. The bathroom very clean. The room however was so hot! The aircon would not go below 19 degrees and the windows would not stay open. The room
Was also above the hotel bar.. on the Sunday night and Monday night the music blared until gone half 11 on Sunday evening and quarter to midnight on Monday night. We had to go downstairs and ask them to turn the music off. The bar was empty. The member of staff stated how nobody had been in the bar since 10pm ?? It was like being above a night club so very little sleep had. Would not stay again for this reason.

The best hotel we’ve stayed at around the Warwickshire/ Worcestershire area. We were upgraded to a beautiful room as the receptionist found out it was our wedding anniversary. All of the staff were lovely, the room was clean, shower and bathroom were perfect. We also had a bath in the corner of our room which we loved! Bed was comfortable and we had plenty of towels. We loved the shampoo, conditioner and body/ hand wash in the bathroom.
The hotel is right in the centre so you can get to everything you need. Our room was facing the road but it was very quiet and the view was still nice.
Thank you Hotel Du Vin, we’ll definitely be back!

Lovely stay here in Stratford. Our room was large with a lovely bathroom and included a balcony, which sadly looked over the police car park! The toiletries were all l’occitane. Check in was quick and easy and communication prior to our stay was good, ensuring we had made parking arrangements and that our diner reservation was arranged. It is situated fairly central so was just a short stroll to either the river and markets, or the town and sites. Dinner was nice, my husbands nicer than mine, and breakfast was great. Lots on offer.

The reception staff were so warm, welcoming and helpful. The little touches in the room (a small surprise bday cake) was a lovely touch! The room is spacious and cosy. The balcony tables were a little dirty and the linen was a little itchy. Also, the noise from the corridors and other bathrooms was a little disturbing at night, but otherwise a lovely, pleasent stay. Thank you.

We were a little disappointed to be given an accessible room on this occasion without being informed either prior to arrival or while checking in. While the facilities were excellent for someone requiring this type of room, for us it didn’t work. There was only one bedside table, the TV was at a far end of the room and the screen was not easy to see from the bed. The bathroom was a wet room with lots of support bars around the toilet and shower and was a little disappointing having had beautiful bathrooms in Hotel du Vin establishments before.
I have to stress that this room is very fit for purpose for someone with extra needs but not for us.

We booked about 30 minutes before arrival. Then were very happy to be given an upgrade. Receptionist was very helpful and loaded with or persuaded the restaurant to let us book in for 8.45. Very busy for a Tuesday night. The upgraded room could have been lovely but unfortunately had a very strong smell of smoke. We also noticed many marks up the walls. Still a comfortable room though.

Really warm welcome as well which is always appreciated. The room was really spacious and extremely clean, we were instantly happy with the room and exceeded our expectations, big bathroom including a shower and a bath, and all the amenities you’d need in the room. Had dinner booked in the bistro restaurant after reading the great reviews on numerous sites, did not disappoint we had the beef with veg which was beautiful, Cocktails were great also. The next morning we decided to have breakfast as we enjoyed the dinner, and once again breakfast was delightful, really enjoyed it! Checkout was easy and efficient and was also allowed to leave our bags with reception while we enjoyed another 2 hours in Stratford. Would really recommend staying here, and we will definitely will be back!
