A beautiful hotel! I stayed for a Xmas party nearby - the value of the property was amazing, considering breakfast was also included. Breakfast was fab. The bar area was lovely and cosy with a fire. Would definitely stay again.

I arrived at the hotel after being at RSC all day . Although this is a 4star hotel there was a one man band running the hotel . I arrived at 2245 despite ringing the number I in the end by 2330 I had to leave my bag and suit in reception while I look around the hotel for someone to check me in .
Then after getting in to the room at 0.00 after making a drink , I noticed that there was no heat in the room .the radiator had been left at 3 , but had been turned off . I then went to the night porter and he gave me a portable heater from his office. It two hours to warm the room up. The bathroom was like an ice box the towel rack radiator wasn't switched on .
It's pretty obvious that all the heating had been switched off for the hotel. I had no sleep as the cold affects my bladder and I was up and down all night .
I believe I should have a refund . I am a theatre and film influencer and have 80,000 views per 30 days @theteawithkelvin Instagram and have posted my complaint about hotel to my Instagram account. ⭐️

We received excellent customer service and the food was very generous. Whilst the price for a night is reasonable there was accepts of cleaning and maintenance which are poor.
The room we were originally given had a radiator that couldn't be turned of and poorly cleaned bathtub (this was promptly rectified after speaking to the staff).
General cleaning remains an issue around the hotel with cobwebs in the dining room and in the other bathroom we had broken mechanism in the bathtub to open the drain (we did not mention this as were tired of complaining after the issues with the first room)

Sleepless night

Wedding happening at the venus which we were not informed about noise going on late. Woken at 1am with people knocking on doors and shouting in corridor. Call reception and got Tesco answer message and no call back. Woken again at 3am as our room was above the kitchen by people talking and obviously cleaning up from the wedding. Plus large extractor by our window which was noisy. Might be a good wedding venue but not recommend if you just want a good nights sleep!!!

Two observations - this hotel has a 4pm check in time and a 10am check out time. When I turned up at 4.10pm to check in only to find the room wasn't ready I was not happy. In effect you have 18 hours occupation at the most. I was provided a complimentary drink whilst I waited but that isn't the point. How come it takes 6 hours to prepare a room? With regard to the room there was no way to turn on the radiator as it was a bit chilly and the sinks plug hole needed maintenance to let the water out faster. I did have breakfast in the morning which was acceptable.

The hotel it’s self was fine,the outside seating area was well done and the grounds overall were in great condition. however, the room it’s self smelt of cat pee which was most off putting I was only here for one night so didn’t feel the need to ask for a room change.

The room size was good and the bar staff again were very accommodating.

Overall the stay was fine just wish the smell wasn’t there.

Unlikely to stay here again

When I arrived after 8 in the evening no one was on reception. I phoned the mobile number on a notice telling me this would get me assistance. My phone call went straight to voicemail. I had to wander around until I found the bar where there were two members of staff. I asked if I was in time for dinner and was told service would stop in a few minutes so I ordered dinner in a hurry before checking in. If I could have checked in when I arrived I wouldn’t have been so rushed to order dinner. The salad and chips were ok but I wouldn’t order the chicken schnitzel again. The room was clean enough apart from an obvious cobweb but the smell of hotel room freshener was very strong. After a bath (bathroom was reasonable, clean and everything worked and water was hot), I realised on going to bed that I could hear the thump thump from what was probably the plant room. I decided to lump it rather than dress and attempt to find someone who could change my room - it was gone 11 at night. Luckily I had ear plugs with me otherwise the noise would have been intolerable. The WiFi was also poor and dropped out for most of the night after I’d decided to update all the apps on my phone. Good job I didn’t urgently need to use an app that was stalled in waiting mode. Won’t try updating all my apps at once in a hotel again, so good life lesson.

Booked a deluxe room with patio area (pet free) when we got there they sent us to our room and they had downgraded us to a normal deluxe room no patio area. We went to reception and was told they didn’t do pet free rooms with patios, I then said but those rooms are cheaper so they agreed to give us the difference back, if we hadn’t of said we wouldn’t of.
It would of been nice to of been told when booking or before we arrived that we had been downgraded
Room was also quite noisey with a loud boiler type noise in the night, bed very uncomfortable

We stayed just the one night as a stopover. We never ate at the hotel so can’t comment on that. We were 3 adults who booked the family room, which was very spacious & beds very comfortable. Unfortunately only 2 mugs & 1 packet of biscuits were provided with the tea & coffee. It was a very warm day & a fan was available in room, which was a blessing. The only downside was we had to close the windows as a wedding bash was in full flow & the band & loud music kept us awake until well after midnight. Cannot fault the room, apart from these little niggles & the location of the room being so close to the function room/rooms. Imagine it’s quite noisy most weekends.

Comfy beds and good breakfast stopover

Just one night stay with family en route to Holyhead. We arrived after 9 and had quick check in at bar, but were unable to have hot food (chef had gone home). Sandwiches were kindly offered. We made decision to get a takeaway but then had to eat this in our room which didn’t make sense when there was a quiet area near the lifts with suitable tables, etc. However, the worst thing was the banging just as we were trying to sleep (2 women stuck in the lift!). This did not get sorted quickly and there was further disruption when they finally were released. The toilets downstairs were a disgrace and some more thorough cleaning would be nice. (chair, toilet, etc). Bed was lovely and comfy and room size with hot drinks choice was good. Breakfast was fab. V little interaction with staff.

This establishment does not want hotel guests. We were treated terribly throughout our stay. While trying to leave in the pouring rain, my wife was rudely insulted, and when I asked the management team not to insult their guest I was physically assaulted by a member of staff.
I strongly urge Expedia to remove this hotel from their listings.

High cost, poor quality

The quality of the fittings and materials in both our bedroom and in the public areas we used was low budget. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were not. The room was uncomfortsbly warm and we could not find any thermostatic or A/C control.

The selection at the expensive breakfast buffet was very limited. A £21.95 breakfast seems a lot for what was on offer.

The staff we met were charming and helpful.

As check in wasn't until 4.00pm we wanted to explore Stratford but did not want to park and leave our suitcases on view. We rang to see if we could leave our luggage at the hotel. We spoke to a very nice receptionist who said that would not be a problem. When we went to leave the suitcases the receptionist realised I used a walking frame, she offered to put us in a room that catered for disabled people. We arrived at the hotel after 4.00pm and was greeted by the same receptionist and taken to our room. The room had a big bed and a spotless walk in shower and toilet and of course tea and coffee making facilities. We had a meal at the hotel, we were greeted by Suehal Lakhani the manager and was introduced to our waiter for the evening. We were shown to our table that overlooked the golf course. The food was really tasty, so much so we decided to eat in the following night. The waiter we had both nights was excellent, nothing was too much trouble for him. The restaurant was on the pricey side but you could tell the ingredients were high quality. The breakfast was what you would expect although the quality of the bacon and sausages really stood out the fruit salad was superb as it was freshly prepared fruit, not the normal cubed fruit you get in the cheaper hotels.

In conclusion it was a lovely weekend and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Lakhani and his staff for making it a very pleasant stay and we hope to see you next year.

Excellent location, easy reach to Warwick, and Stratford.
Lovely grounds , hotel seemed a little tired in places .Restaurant evening meal good . Breakfast good, excellent guys in the bar got the log burner going for us every night as it was very chilly in conservatory. Room large comfy bed , very noisy towel rail couple of times banging at 6:45=in the morning but did stop once we twisted and turned the nobs .

Room was ok, bed very clean however, there was all black marks over the bathroom ceiling. Sofa was very worn and didn't look clean. Very basic facilities in the room. The rooms were absolutely freezing. The bathroom was also freezing. Heated towel rack in the bathrooms and heater in the bedroom but they were never on and no way to put them on. Bedding was 2 sleeping bags zipped together and could feel zips on our face through the quilt cover. Staff were ok and polite not much conversation though. Had breakfast and that was really nice. Wasn't cheap sausage etc. So really enjoyed it. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Not many staff around. Overall it was ok but i think for what we paid for 1 night it could have been better especially some heating.

Friendly helpful staff on arrival. Even walked us to our rooms. Slight issue that testing not working but heater provided so no dramas. But, water cold on final morning so chilly showers. The bedside lights weren’t working, we tried to call reception but found the phone was not connected. We went back to reception to report faults and was told we’d have to wait whilst they made up another twin bed room. Room was cold and limiter had been fitted to radiator. The heating was completely turned off overnight including bathroom towel heater. As the outside temperature dropped below zero overnight the room was unacceptably cold.

The only downside we had was our room was abit cold throughout our night stay, the radiator seemed to be on a timer for a short while, as it worked for a while then didn’t come back on so it felt rather chilly, our room was on the ground floor.

This is a lovely hotel, the room was very comfortable and clean with the expected amenities.
Check in was a little confusing, especially after a long day of travel. No one man’s reception after 5pm(?) and we found ourselves wandering around looking for someone to help us, which wasn’t great. I was quite annoyed at the time by it due to being very tired from our journey.
Breakfast was included, which was buffet style with plenty of choice and good quality.

I booked a Superior Double with a Golf View. Initially, we were allocated a room, but the toilet flush wasn’t working. After complaining to reception, they moved us to another room, but it had no view. The bed provided was simply two single beds pushed together, and the mattress was not comfortable at all. It was not worth the money I paid.

I have just returned from a one night stay at The Stratford Park Hotel & Golf Course in Stratford-upon-Avon. This time I booked via Expedia as they had a fabulous offer which I just couldn't turn down. What a fabulous location and lovely staff. I have mobility issues so they very kindly gave me a ground floor room and when I saw there was no bath, I was delighted. My bathroom was a wet room so accessibility to the fabulous shower was a real treat. I sat outside in the sunshine, I had a fabulous hot coffee and just switched off over looking the golf course, the lake and just felt so relaxed in the peace & quiet, something I was desperate for. Stunning views. Great food. Comfy beds. Lovely bar area. Fabulous shower. If I am honest, unless you have a function there, this hotel almost feels like an adults retreat. Somewhere to go when you want a round of golf or to just chill. I loved it and if I am able, I will return every time I need to get away from it all. Just what the doctor ordered.

A wedding venue with comfortable accommodation

We had an overnight stay in this hotel, as we were attending a wedding on the premises. Staff were approachable and helpful, the premises clean. The room was comfortable, bright and airy. There was a kettle, ample supplies of coffee, tea, milk and sugars including biscuits in the room.

Unfortunately I wasn’t very happy at all with this hotel! I arrived at 4pm and was told she wasn’t sure if my room was ready then went onto tell me I’ve got loads of people staying for so many nights!! Like I needed to know this then she had to go off to check if my room was ready she then came back and told me oh yes yours was the last room to be cleaned! I went to get a coffee in the bar and was asked if I was a golf club member replied no so it seems I had to pay more for my drink! It was a hot day but with a cold wind and as the day drew in it was a very cold evening. The whole building wasn’t very warm but my bedroom felt really cold. In the end I was uncomfortable so went to the bar and asked if there was any heating for my room. I was told they would deal with it but it would take a few minutes which is fair enough but then he came to my room with an air conditioning unit that only blew out cold air so I ended up sleeping in my tracksuit bottoms and sweatshirt. I went for breakfast the next morning and paid £21.95 which I feel was a lot. There wasn’t a great choice for the money compared to some hotels I’ve stayed in and the cooked breakfast I had was lukewarm and not that nice at all. Also the lady in the door followed me and made me pay before if even got a cup of tea! So overall I wasn’t happy with my stay, wouldn’t stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel. I spent the next two nights at Stratford manor paying the same rate and it was excellent.

Strong smell of sewage overnight coming into our room from outside - is there a treatment plant nearby? Very unpleasant. Otherwise all is to a very good standard, including helpful staff on check in.

Excellent!

This hotel was a stab in the dark as we were travelling. Best decision ever, such a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Staff were amazing, I can’t stress that enough. Room was immaculate with everything we needed.
We dined the evening and had breakfast which were both outstanding.
Ample parking space and nice and quiet with buildings with history. Definitely recommend, we will definately be staying again when in that area.

The hotel lobby could do with something as I feel it lets the rest of the hotel down. The restaurant and room we had was very clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable. We did not eat at the hotel mainly because we were eating in town and meeting friends but would try it another time. The only thing which reduced our rating is that I’d searched high and low for a hotel with twin beds, only to find on querying the kingsized bed we had been give that the ‘instruction from the third party ‘ (ie Expedia) ‘was for a kingsized bed’. Luckily I was staying with my sister so it wasn’t a problem. We’ve had this issue before. It’s a shame Expedia seem to be deciding what type of bed we want!! I suppose I will have to ring ahead next time. A shame as there’s enough to think about when travelling. This will be another thing to do.

Lovely hotel could not fault room 106 it was amazing, only sore point was we were a party of 8 and in the dining room 5 of us were served meals but the other 3 had to wait 20 minutes for theirs, which by this time the others had nearly finished, then when we asked for dessert menu we were told it was to late but our party had finished eating for nearly an hour with no table service, thankfully the manager was very apologetic and served us desserts.
I know it sounds like a grump but other than this 1 issue it was a fantastic stay and breakfast was amazing

Everything was to our liking and very good value for money. It is very close to Stratford upon Avon and the park and ride. Highly recommended for anyone who prefers the rural setting.

Lovely hotel. Really pleased with our stay. staff were really friendly. The rooms are nice & big, huge comfy bed (had an amazing nights sleep!) Really nice choice for breakfast, food was really good quality. Would stay again.
