Property was under going major renovation we were not told about this when booking.

Builders wheeling wheel barrows full of rubble down carpeted hallways guest were using,
This of course was noisy and dusted.

All fire exit doors on the ground floor were left wide open the whole of our stay, day and night security was abysmal, anybody could enter the building we felt very vulnerable so we kept most of our belongings in the car.

Cleanliness of the room was bad, room was very tatty tv remote held together with Sellotape, soap dispenser by bathroom sink not working, no tissues in box, when room was “cleaned” towel’s were left all hanging over the shower

We paid £10 per day for parking, when we came back later that day there was nowhere to park.

The breakfast we paid for was very poor quality.

In all very disappointed the photos DO NOT reflex quality of hotel.

Some construction work was going on during this stay, but it was well managed and did not disturb us. Staff are always very welcoming and helpful. Bar facilities are really good and the residents’ discount makes the Bear one of the best value bar/restaurants in Stratford.

Staff were helpful and polite, place was in a lovely spot over looking the river, room was nice and clean. However, we weren’t informed there was building works going on at the property and that our view from the room was looking out onto the scaffolding and workers. We paid £25 for breakfast included and it took about half an hour for it to come out, ordered poached eggs on toast and all the eggs were hard boiled! Bit of a let down

We liked that the hotel was right in the heart of town and that there was a lot of energy and activity around.
The restaurant was only fair in so far as the food goes. The service was haphazard in the restaurant and there was no one to greet you.
The room was okay , but it was cold when we were there and the heat did not work. We had constant air conditioning blowing on us. The front desk was sympathetic to the problem, but was unable to fix the issue. By the second night , the front desk person figured out to disengage the air conditioning which was more than just turning off a switch. She found a portable heater which helped on the second night.
When we checked out , the front desk clerk asked how our stay was and we told her about the heat less first night , she was not concerned and said “Oh well.”
I thought she might have been more concerned and even reduced our rate for the one night. Maybe having the Swans Neat in the heart of the city has made the management team a little too comfortable!

The staff were brilliant and really helpful.

The parking is limited but great value if you are travelling by car and able to stay.

I had a brilliant experience from check in to check out. The bed was really comfy too. The location of the property is fantastic just a quick walk into Stratford-upon-Avon town centre. Lots of places to eat, as well as the hotel, on the way.

This charming hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes walk crossing the footpath bridge over the River Avon to The Royal Shakespeare Company Theater, Holy Trinity Church, Shakespeare’s birthplace, local restaurants, shopping and things to see. Beautiful area! My room was modest yet very clean & comfortable, the front desk team was courteous, and the breakfast included with my stay was a nice surprise (basic options of coffee/tea/baked goods/yogurt/cereals and fruit) and I enjoyed the delicious egg scramble for an extra cost.
The Bear is a cozy downstairs pub adjacent to the lobby and serves traditional English pub food- I had an acceptable serving of fish and chips with mushy peas and a drink before heading out to see a play at The RSC!
(There is also a fine dining restaurant, Bistrot Pierre, adjacent to the lobby I did not eat at, however, I heard good reviews in town from others about it).
I recommend this lovely, quiet, and well maintained property and plan to come back!

Great location but living on its laurels and in urgent need of refurbishment. Unpleasant stains in the bathroom, only sunflower shower (terrible if you have had a recent and expensive blow dry), just feels shabby and outdated. Shame, as it could be a really nice spot for returning customers. Not me as things stand.

The stay was great, my only concern was with Expedia, I booked a room with full breakfast, then moved the day on one day, Expedia changed the date and I paid the difference, what didn’t tell me was the booking now didn’t include breakfast!! Our greeting was indicative of our overall experience. Courtesy combined with curiosity to discover what we hoped to find not only at the hotel, but also from the wider environment. Plans were hatched and all the staff contributed to a delightful happy hour cocktail; a sensational meal at a locally suggested restaurant and a good night's sleep. The hotel receptionist was a gem, who one day should be managing her own establishment, while the barman was very accommodating. We are going to return soon. Thank you.

Difficult to operate the aircon in the room, slightly shambolic breakfast arrangement, cups not very clean, lack of choice of breakfast fruits. Very shabby seating in the bar area.
On the plus side, very comfortable hotel and excellent for the theatre in particular as well as for the town centre. Parking at the hotel is £10 per night.

Hotel great. The pub style restaurant run by a franchisee was very poor in our opinions. The baked Camembert was supposed to come with toast but came with bread so we had to get them to bring toast by which point the cheese was cold. The mains were mediocre in presentation and taste. A true disappointment in foods.

Excellent location with just a short walk into city centre beside the beautiful river. The hotel was undergoing some major maintenance work, however, it was clean and comfortable with excellent room facilities. All staff members were friendly and helpful. Great breakfast with plenty of choices. Would definitely stay again, however we would avoid the pub attached to the hotel called ‘The Bear’ which was very run down (ripped seats, broken chairs) and served the worst food we have ever eaten in a restaurant!

Don't miss Shakespeare's birthplace, school and burial sites. Stratford upon Avon is a bucket list place to visit.

This is a great hotel in the middle of Stratford. Easy to drive to . The car park was full so we waited and eventually parked. Check in again was easy. Our room was great well equipped with all the usual toiletries etc The bed was very comfy and had a good nights sleep. We went into the bar at night and they served some great local beers and as residents' we received 10% off. Breakfast again was good as it is served at the table. Well presented and well cooked.
We would stay there again. Great location.

Very welcoming and helpful staff at reception on check in. The bed was incredibly comfy and the room was very clean. Parking was available at the hotel and for a feasible price of £10 for 24 hours. We went to one of the bars/restaurant linked to the hotel, the Bear. Staff were very friendly there too and it was an added bonus to get 10% off all food and drinks.

This was our third time staying at The Swans Nest , and although it was virtually same as before the service was not on par as before ,I think the reason why is they need more staff they are probably short of 3 front of house and more house keeping staff as it was nearly 4pm when we finally got our room keys , the room 205 was nice and quiet but looking a bit tired decor wise , the hotel are under going some major building work extending and adding more rooms I hope when that is completed the hotel gets a new lick of paint , having said that its not untidy it just needs a freshen up , the staff are always pleasant and attentive to your needs the location to town is perfect , the only thing that gets me is the patio area outside the bistro is dominated by a very large tree and this drops its leaves etc all over the patio and entrance to the hotel which not only is very messy it also does not give a very good first impression to visitors ,5 mins every day with a leaf blower and a pan and brush would make all the difference and then you could use it

The room was clean and well aired and had a great view beyond the car park.
The staff on reception were very helpful and friendly at check in and check out.
The bar was lively on Friday night (there was football on the TV).
The breakfast was OK - the items cooked to order were not very big portions.
The outside area was very untidy, lots of leaves and debris from the trees that could easily have been swept up. There were 3 very full ashtrays on the tables outside left from the previous evening - not a pretty sight while you are having your breakfast.

Arrived late (10.30pm) to find car park signage poor, wasnt clear where or how to access reception and ended up going through a rear entrance and walking through the hotel to reception. Receptionist was very helpful friendly and explained the usual nice and quickly.

Room seemed fine, shower was great - powerful and hot water a plenty.

Wifi worked well and there was space to set the laptop up to work on emails etc. Table had a glass top and previous guests had left food deposits under the glass...

The walk to breakfast showed a hotel with good bones that needed some tlc and a fresh lick of paint, the staff though, all fantastic and very friendly.

Breakfast was a mix of continental and cooked and everything I ate and drank was very nice and fresh.

The room and bed linen were spotlessly clean. There was a cosy lounge in which to enjoy a drink, and a choice of Bistro or Pub for food, both of which offered good deals, and the staff at reception were polite, friendly and knowledgeable.

The hotel is in a good location by the River Avon, with ample parking at discounted rates for guests. The town centre with its many attractions is only a 10 minute walk across the footbridge.

We would stay there again.

We have stayed here several times over the past few years, but noticed during our recent visit, that certain areas of the hotel would benefit from ‘a spruce up’. The room we stayed in had a bit of an odour( possibly the carpet) and the duvet cover on the bed had a very noticeable hole in it. The room was clean, but it would have benefited from an update. We were a bit disappointed this time, but we would stay again.

Great stay as always! We have stayed here many times over the last 9 years and we keep coming back. It’s a lovely hotel, nicely furnished rooms, always spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. Friendly staff and a delicious breakfast too. It’s so close to Stratford that you can just park the car up and literally cross the road and you’re at the river, theatre, shops, pubs, restaurants and museums. The reception staff were lovely, however, the hotel furnishings are very tired. Pillow cases were marked with what looked like mascara and a bright green substance, carpets and chairs worn looking, and catches broken on the windows so not secure. House keeping cleared my room and took away my personal belongings (before 11am) whilst I was out for a morning walk without checking if I had checked out.

When checking in was given a room that hadn't been cleaned from last occupant, so had to return to reception and was given key to alternative room. Box of chocs received as compensation for inconvenience.
Heating controls in some rooms not very good - of the 3 rooms 2 were far too hot and couldn't be cooled down.
