The room was overall in good condition. Missing handles on the chest of drawers, not enough hangers in the wardrobe,one of the radiators was not working but the rest of the radiators were ample to keep the room warm. The staff we came across were polite and helpful. The dining area was rather cool and all the people were sat around the perimeter of the room near the windows, some of the staff even had their jackets on. Limited menu choices for gluten intolerant diners.

The receptionist was helpful on arrival and departure, although the room we had was badly signposted and we wandered around in the dark searching for it.

The food was very disappointing. We both had starters and a main carvery meal. The starters felt like they had been reheated and were bland. Not sure how anyone can get a roast dinner wrong, but they did. The roast potatoes were rubbery like they'd been cooked for the kunchtime service and reheated. The Yorkshire puds were dry and burnt and agin like they had been reheated from lunchtime. The cabbage had barely been cooked and the meat (Pork and turkey) was bland.

We had drinks on arrival, but when the barman/waiter came and asked if everything was ok and we asked for the same again, we waited over 20 mins before the waitress came and we had to ask again. It wasn't like they were busy with only one other couple eating and two or three others in the bar area.

On first inspection of the Suite (Rm 4), it was nice, but the decor is outdated and worn and the furniture didnt seem to match. The carpet certainly had seen better days and had various stains on it.

The bed linen was clean and the bed comfortable.

The bathroom was clean, water was hot, but again the floor tiles were cracked and the grout was missing in a lot of places.

Its a shame as the website and photos were full of promise, but it failed to deliver.

The bar,restaurant and staff were all great knowledgeable and professional . The only problem was WiFi (very slow) and tv. Although there were multiple stations listed a lot were greyed out on list( not available) and those that were available were not to my taste ,although I’m sure they were popular with others
My room seemed cold but was immediately given a heater which proved perfect.
I live and travel in the states and in hotels with shower bath combo the baths are lower to enable getting in and out safer and easier
All in all it was a great stay and would stay again

We enjoyed our stay, our second time here. Unfortunately the shower didn’t work and the toilet kept refilling all night. We did tell reception when we left but to be honest they were a little indifferent about it! She said if people don’t tell us we don’t know! But tbh the shower fitting was loose on the wall, the waste on the bath was broken and I don’t believe the shower had worked for a long time it wouldn’t even turn on. Overall it is a pleasant place to stay but a little disappointing when things don’t work. We only stayed one night and discovered the shower didn’t work in the morning, but was close to leaving time which is why we didn’t address the problem earlier.

The actual hotel is in a lovely setting and the mixture of buildings and rooms looks good, but we had three problems. When we arrived the windows were all open - we were staying in Room 102 which is an separate building - and the room was a bit cold.. We shut the windows and turned up the heating, but then a weird smell started... they must allow dogs to stay ( since in room 101 opposite there was a dog since he barked a bit overnight) but the smell of dog was quite strong..We popped out to Stratford in the evening and were not late back - but by that point the dog smell was lingering and it felt too late to request a room move... i do think the hotel should check if you want to stay in a dog friendly room if you are not a dog owner. ! the other problem was that about 6:30 the outside door - which was right next to our room opened and closed about 50 times... I assume there is a linen room located in our building, but the back and forth of people opening the door and then letting it slam shut was a nightmare..!... also the room upstairs, when they walk back and forth the sound below is so loud.... the bar and restaurant looked nice, and we had a drink the evening, but i would not stay again.... or if we did then I would ask for an alternate room straight away.

The greeting on arrival was lovely. We were really pleased with the size of the room and the comfort however by the evening the room was very hot with only one window that opened a small amount due to being on the ground floor. We suspect that the room backs onto the boiler room as there was a constant low level vibration/hum that, as a.light sleeper woke me during the night. Second night a wedding was happening in the function room opposite our room. This meant our dogs were woken numerous times by general party noise that would have been fine if we didnt have them with us. Ideally being situated away from the room would have made life easier. I suspect the dog barking woke other guests.

Unfortunately although the staff at the hotel were lovely they were very understaffed so rushed off their feet. The actual accommodation etc was very tired and in desperate need of updating. We had a lovely large room in a separate little building (4 rooms?) and so was really quiet and peaceful, although incredibly dark as the vegetation was very over grown. The hotel was very well situated, it was just a shame that it desperately needed renovating.

Our stay was overshadowed by a coach party booking - The other paying guests (clearly paying more for the privilege) were ignored because of the lack of staff. Breakfast was of a poor quality and the service was none existent. The Manager said that this had happened \"quite a lot\". Although the staff that were on duty were as helpful as they could be - The Hotel clearly has insufficient staff to deal with the number of guests and obviously rely mostly on coach parties for revenue at the expense of other guests. Our evening meal was also unacceptable. We were refunded the cost of the meal and the cost of breakfast. We checked out earlier than we had originally intended because of the disappointing experience.

Rooms are quite dated. Mismatched furnishings add to the air of general neglect. TV remote didn’t work..
Dinner menu was quite limited and although we only a party of 3 people, one of my colleagues food was served 10 minutes after the rest. Quality of the food was OK.

On a more positive note, the staff were good, attentive and courteous.

The hotel is partially an old country inn, although the majority of the accommodation is in a more modern block.

Centrally controlled heating was on all night, making it stiflingly hot, which in turn forced us to sleep with the ground floor windows open. Additionally, we were supplied only with the ends of two toilet rolls (for a family of four) and ran out in the night!

Sort of great, but could be loads better. Id paid for an upgrade room, arrived st 8pm, was checked in, given minimal information, kitchen times, breakfast instructions etc. I was handed my key and briefly told where my room (103) was, which sounded like a bit of a trek. At this time it was dark, i was carrying my bags, laptop, hangers with clothes, walking through the grounds in pitch black for a while. I eventually found my room using the torch on my phone as the area wasnt lit at all. My room looked good, however there was a dirty pillow case on the floor in the bathroom, plus some debris. I was pleased to see a fridge, hoping there would be water as it was getting rather late, unfortunately not. Room was fairly comfortable, bed was good, bathroom rather tired. Tv in lounge area but not in bedroom. Breakfast was ok, but staff could have been a tad more smiley, there was a youth in a tracksuit in and out of the kitchen, not a great look. Would i stay here again? Probably, loads of others around warwick, Leamington, Stratford etc though.

I have stayed here a few times and always enjoyed my stay. I was a little disappointed this time. We stayed two nights. The bath was very dirty on arrival but was cleaned after our first night. We only had one bath towel. We requested a second towel and were given 4 bath mats! The breakfast was very overcooked and no eggs. Evening meal was nice. The bed was extremely hard which I did not like. Not sure I will stay here again.

Service at checkin was very good, however my room was in need of updating , but clean and tidy.

Unfortunately, the room I stayed in was impacted by a noisy room next door, which had little to no soundproofing. This affected the room beyond midnight, so it was not the best experience.

The other parts of the hotel appeared better, try to avoid room 18.

This was our second stay at the hotel. The accommodation block was being upgraded. Our room had been done and there were a few snags eg the heating was all or nothing and no valve on the radiator.
The director of Operations was excellent and sorted problems as they arose. He was also charming and bothered to add a personal touch to our contacts.
The food was really excellent and this made our stay more enjoyable.
I expect we will visit the hotel again in the future.

Really disappointed.
Checked in and had to rush out the property as we had an event to go too.
Arrived back early hours in the morning, went to shower and the toilet along with the sink were blocked.
Contacted reception, they moved to us a room where there was a crack in the window and the shower was leaking. The rooms are dark, stained carpets, and the standards are poor.
I complained to reception, had to repeat my complaint and it was being wrote on paper. The receptionist didn't seem to care so I said I'll complain via Expedia instead.
I appreciate it's not the Hilton but when your paying over £100 for a room, you expect better quality.

The hotel was good value for money and close to Stratford. A few minor things were missing; I bath because of arthritis but the shower gel was out of reach without standing up. There was a very good supply of tea, but only one insignificant biscuit.

Check in was highly embarrassing as I was told that we had not paid for 1 of the 5 rooms we had booked, despite being able to show a receipt from Hotels.Com. The discussion regarding the unpaid room was in front of another guest. This was only cleared up the following morning after referral to a manager & was a problem between the hotel & Hotels.com. The receptionist in the morning was helpful & apologetic.

The executive room was disappointing, in the evening the noise from a reception at the hotel was very noisy , very close to our room and did not finish until midnight. If we had been advised this was happening we would have cancelled our booking and stayed elsewhere.
Have used this hotel several times before now will never use again.

Bathroom in need of attention. Bath had broken enamel and was quite rusty. Paintwork was in poor condition and looked like had been done by someone who had little clue as to what was needed. Also the card would not unlock the door after the first night, sorted at reception but then wouldn’t work again the next morning. It’s a shame really, could be a really nice place

They were doing table orders (because of low occupancy I guess) but there was just the one person to manage everyone including take payments for folk paying on the day. The hotel obviously has different areas. We were in a block which was very run down. No lift either
On arrival room was hot with broken air conditioning. We then had no electric and no hot water. On reporting on all the issues reception was uninterested. The have a card in the room saying WhatsApp us any issues. All these were ignored. Calls werent answered. Eventually electric was restored. No hot water inc shower all night. No apology or explanation until we complained in the morning. They did issue a refund but only when i asked for the manager. Room was outdated, stains on carpet,bed bery bouncy. It was clean otherwise. Wish we had booked elsewhere. Would have left if we could find somewhere else.

Leaving a negative review purely because the management aren’t really bothered about the guests. I stayed in room 70, all ok with the check in, room nice. However in the morning I opened the curtains and had the entire wooden Pelmet and curtains land on me. It struck my left arm and luckily did land on my feet due to the side table below. I informed the night porter on my early check out and they said they would get management to call me. Nothing. I called them to speak to management the next day and again someone said they would call me back. Still nothing. Incredibly poor given the circumstances and potential injuries if this was a child. Didn’t bother to see if I was OK. For context the pelmet was slid onto two brackets, no fixings in them and very heavy. Terrible design but they were informed.

We liked the friendly staff and they were very helpful especially the house keeper. It was peaceful and comfortable. Easy to get to from motorway and location good for Stratford Warwick and Birmingham.
Could do with sprucing up a bit but good layout -bedrooms away from dining area and kitchen

Old, dirty, avoid.

Its cheap.

But bad.

4 poster bed, was old and tired, as were the dirty knickers we found behind the bed.

Had a meal there as its miles from anywhere. Steak was unedible. Chewy, cheap, l could'nt cut. Sent it back and went hungry.

Would not stay again.

Shame as it could ne a stunning place.

Excellent location to historic house and church as well as good restaurants, Shah’s Indian was outstanding!
Only draw back… no lift in the Barford building.
