Older but well kept. Arrived early morning from Seattle thinking we could run around the city till checkin. Did nt have dedicated room to hold luggage so we paid for extra night as we not as young as we used to be. We were lucky to get a free upgrade and room. Better choice would be to get it ahead of time. Popular location and kind staff. Good breakfast buffet. Should have spent more time in Taipei. Malls near Taipei 101 blew our minds.

Friendly staff gave helpful tourist tips to this English-speaking traveler.

Nice location. The convenience store ten yards away was a great amenity. Main Station and a big metro station are within walking distance.

Bathroom sink drain was slow.

Bathtub spa was luxurious, but I only had time to use the shower.

Be aware that some rooms do not have a window. So spend more time outside exploring wonderful Taibei!

Great hotel. We stayed in Taipei for 4 days, and this hotel worked wonderful for our needs. Central location, AC, and we even had 2 large twins together that made it a king bed. A small refrigerator in the room, and we asked for ice once a day, which they were happy to help with. Very clean hotel, we were very impressed with our stay.

This hotel is within 10 minutes from the train station, very convenient. It is also near the famous tourist district with lots of restaurants, cafe, spa, and pharmacy etc. The room was clean, comfy and nicely decorated. The staff was super friendly. The check-in and check-out was smooth and quick. There were taxi right outside waiting to take you anywhere you need.

Some hits, lots of little misses

Lots of little issues made this less than what it could have been. The toilet flushed poorly and I often had to remover the tank cover to move the flap back into place and re-flush almost every time. There should always be a spare roll of toilet paper in every bathroom and I hated worrying about running low or our and had to make a note for the housekeeping staff to replenish. I believe we were entitled to 2 free drinks per day during our stay due to my membership level, but that only happened the first day. The TV remote control instructions were unclear and we never figured it out making for a frustrating experience. The pluses were that the front desk and housekeeping staff were very professional, friendly and respectful which were great. Breakfast options also excellent.

The furnitures inside the room are mostly wear and tear, the toilet facilities are out-dated and not working well, the carpet in the floor are not clean enough, I can see stain and crack on the bathroom wall area. In short, very disappointing with the price that I have paid. The only merit point is the room is big

The hotel is in a great location near the night market, day market, Dihua St, the wharf and a 10 minute walk to the metro travel center. The staff are professional and helpful. The hotel is older but in good condition. The breakfast has a good variety of Asian cuisine, salad and fruit.

The property showed signs of age, but was generally in acceptable condition. However, the door to my room was slightly damaged, preventing it from closing or locking properly. I reported the issue to management, but was informed that it could only be opened from the outside with a key—essentially, I was advised to live with it. I'm unsure if this was a problem with other rooms, but some guests did slam their doors late at night, which was disruptive. Additionally, the \"city view\" was actually more of an alley view, which was not what I had anticipated.

Good choice in Taipei

The room is spacious and people at reception are very friendly and helpful. The location is good, close to a self-service laundry, supermarket and restaurants and the train station is not too far away.

The property is split between two buildings.. that wasn’t immediately apparent, but not really an issue after I was settled in… the room was in one side , breakfast was served in the other side. The street is very busy with traffic but I did not have any issues with noise at night. There was a slight maintenance issue with the door handle potentially coming loose, but it was resolved very quickly. Room service was very efficient and discreet. The one down side - it is not close to any MRT station (subway) - but it is very walkable to the night market and Dihua street.

Solid 3.5-4* review. Large hotel in a great location with plenty of food options in the area. Staff are lovely, helpful and speak good English.

Stayed in 2 rooms in the Annex Building across 5 days.

The first room was a no-window room on the 9th floor. Very large room with a huge bathroom. Did not feel claustrophobic at all. Good solid Aircon and spotless bathroom. Carpets and furniture tell their age but did not find it an issue. The sound insulation was perfect, we did not hear a pip.

The second room was on the 2nd floor. Allegedly a higher tier room (with higher pricing). Oddly, slightly smaller in size and roughly in the same condition. This room also had a fridge whilst the previous one hadn't. Unfortunately, the bathroom cleanliness was average at best and felt slightly run down. This room also had a window facing the gap between the annex and the main building. As a result, the sound insulation was not great and you could hear the cars driving down the road.

I would stay again and I definitely recommend the hotel. But the level of cleanliness seems to be a bit of a lottery 😅 . Personally I much rather preferred the windowless room on a higher floor.

The music and art madevmy girlfriend not feel completely good. The food was good. Sometimes better thsn others. The cleaning staff did an exceptional job. The front staff had everything we needed and were very friendly. The weight didn't have much at all. Location is perfect for getting to everything around Taipei. I could at times hear neighbors but the building wasn't bad for noise. The room had an unexpected jet tub which was big and pleasant. I also could shower. Plenty of cups. A refrigerator for food and freezer too. Bed was vrey comfortable with 4 big pillows and a big blanket. No laundry access but there is a nearby laundromat. The television only had movie channels in English.

The building is old but room is clean。 traffics is OK though it is a bit far from the Taipei main station 。They have free shuttle for Ximen but only two shifts a day； one at 10:00 am and one at 5:00 pm。Staffs are nice and helpful。 As a whole， it is not bad to stay in this hotel。

Few blocks to Dihua district which is amazing tourist attraction. Rooms are quiet, wonderful breakfast buffet. Free shuttle to Taipei main station and Ximending which was a nice perk. It is 15 min. walk to the closet MRT thru major streets very busy, so don't advise to walk from the station to the hotel with luggages.

Solid hotel, nice staff but problematic internet

The staff here is wonderful, caring and thoughtful. I injured by lower back during my business trip and alerted the hotel about it. They proactively checked in on me, offered to take me to the doctor and offered me some pain rubs. I am very appreciative of that and thankful that I recovered with a couple of days. Please be mindful that there are a lot of marble material in around the hotel that is very slipper when wet.

The property is of an older neoclassic style but very well maintained. It's super convenient, with 2 convenient stores on the same block, a Ba Fang dumpling restaurant, a PX Mart grocery store across the street and a coin laundromat one block over. A solid night market is about 3 blocks away and you are about 7 minutes from Taipei Station, there are multiple bus stops on the same street block.

I like everything about this hotel except the internet. I was here on a business trip and found the internet quite unreliable throughput both buildings. Any sustained data stream, such as a Teams or Zoom call, a VoWiFi voice call, or even streaming a little news video is problematic with constant data interruption and everything is choppy. Taiwan generally has very reliable and fast internet, so this was an disappointment.
