This hotel is about 15 years old and in very good condition. Still, there are stains on the carpets by the elevators, scratched sections of wallpaper on the way to the rooms and other minor issues that need to be addressed. The safe in our room was located on top of the cupboards, just inches below the ceiling, and inaccessible.

There are several cardio machines, but no weights. I would recommend some barbells to be purchased.

The manager and staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. Three doors down from the hotel entrance, there is a Buffay style restaurant that serves a large buffet for lunch, and also for dinner. We ate here several days and the maximum cost per person was $10 CDN which is very reasonable.

I mistakenly selected an accessible room because it was the last one available. The room is big but all at the hallway which is useless. Surprisingly, there is a very big bathroom but without any washing basin table top so all your washing stuff must be put outside the room. The only washing basin is very small which can be used only for washing your hands and withouy hot water supply.

Furthermore, the male staff at the front desk were impolite, cool, irresponsible and without any customer care. On 28/12/2025, there happepened an earthquake on our last night stay. Then, a lot of tourists escaped to the lobby but the male staff just sitting behind the front desk looking at their monitors showing no concern or care to customers who were scared after the earthquake.

Overall, those two staff are lack of customer concern and not approprite for working in hotel industries.

The area around the hotel is great. Close to train stations, the river and night market. The room was alright. The bed was comfortable, but we got an accessible room for some reason which had a non stand up shower requiring you to hold the shower head over you to shower. The sink was also extremely small for some reason. The property is pretty dingy and due for some carpet cleaning, paint, etc. What we paid was pretty cheap though so considering things it wasn’t too bad. The younger gentleman at the front desk was also very helpful to us finding our way to the airport upon checkout.

As a tourist my hotspot is very weak so I cannot upload anything on my phone and the hotels wifi was so weak. My hotspot has more speed than the hotels wifi. I also had an issue with turning off one of the lights. I can turn every light off in the room except one so I took my power card out and couldn’t even charge my phone because of that light. How am I suppose to sleep at night?

The room was clean, This hotel is close to Taipei Main MRT station and a grocery store and general shopping, so that makes it very convenient.

Rooms were newly renovated so the design is quite modern and bed was sufficiently comfortable. We arrived about 1pm but had to wait till 3+ before we could check in. There were many guests waiting for their rooms too and the sofa in the lobby could only accomodate a few guests. When we tried to wait in the cafe, the wanted to charge us $50 per person for sitting there even though it belongs to the hotel. The hotel should provide proper waiting area, rather than let the guests stand around waiting.

A bathtub within a shower!

On our first night, we were given a room right next to the elevator shaft as it turns out. The walls are thin so we couldn't sleep due the constant noise of the elevator going up and down. The management did agree to change our room the next day which satisfied us. The bathroom was very uncomfortable though. Not sure if this setup is in every room but there is a short bathtub inside the shower. I think the bathtub was an afterthought when someone complained that there was no bathtub. The trouble is that the bathtub is very high and you have to use both hands on the tub to climb in. This is the most thing in the room. The space in the room is quite compact. There is a luggage rack for only one suitcase. The complimentary breakfast buffet caters to both western and Asian tastes. However, the selections are about average in selection and quality. Their eggs are overcooked. Location of hotel is good though. It is 10 minutes from Taipei Main and also closest to the Airport MRT portion of Taipei Main Station.

I think the best thing about this hotel was the location. The Taipei and Zhongshan train stations, and Ningxia night market were less than 5 mins away by foot. The train to and from the Taoyuan Airport was very convenient. There are a lot of stores and street food vendors around the hotel, along with a supermarket right next door. Also there is a bank two doors down where you can get money changed easily. The changing rate was better then the hotel.
As far as how the room was, we have no complaints. My two sons and I had no problems with the cleanliness and space of the 3-bed room we stayed in
My only concern was that the WiFi was a little slow and would cut out sometimes. Regardless, we would stay here again!

Good location.

From Airport MRT Taipei Main Station, if you have luggages, take elevator at Exit Y18, cross the main road twice to go to the opposite and go straight. You'll see New Continental Hotel on your right. Exit Y17 and Y19 are nearer (doesn't need to cross the main road) but I couldn't find the elevator.

It's about 10 minutes walking distance to Taipei Main Stations (green and red line) and Zhongshan (green and blue line line) MRT stations. If you would prefer less walking, there are city buses that run from Zhongshan station (Exit 5) and stop at Taipei Circle, which is just a few doors next to the hotel.

A few bus stations nearby the hotel, which is convenient to travel to various places or transfer to MRT stations. There are buses to National Museum near the roundabout and in front of Family Mart, about five minutes walking distance from the hotel.

Ningxia Night Market and 7-11 are about five minutes walking distance from the hotel. Wellcome Supermarket is next to the hotel and opens till midnight.

3. Rooms are clean

Drawback
1. Hotel staff is not flexible. When asked for an early check in the rooms were not available however when we offered to pay rooms were available.
2. Breakfast offered is pathetic. Food is not fresh and sub standard quality. Fried stuff seems to have been reused as the fried food is very stale.
3. Mini bathtub .good enough for a kid of 6years. An adult would need to stand and shower or take bath.

I will give it a skip the next time i visit Taipei.

The best part about this hotel was its location. Close to Taipei Main, Ningxia market, Dihua Street. And it's a really good value. The room I had was adorable & comfortable. There is also a 24 hour market below the hotel for anything you might need. Wifi worked fine during the day time hours but seemed to slow down significantly at night.

However, I would have to agree with other reviewers regarding the thinness of the walls & how housekeeping doesn't really clean thoroughly. Not that the rooms are dirty, but you definitely find hairs on counters & the carpet poorly vacuumed. You definitely hear everything going on around you too. I was surprised on my first morning there how long the housekeepers were loudly talking in the hallway.

Breakfast is definitely catered to Asian tastes but totally fine. Only thing is that they tell you that you can eat on both 1st & 2nd floors, but actually the 2nd floor closes by 9 & they start turning people away by 8:30 since they stop replenishing the food.

Overall I had a fine stay, especially for the low price I paid for a very last minute booking. The lobby staff were very nice.

Great hotel to stay with minor improvement needed

We had stayed in this hotel for the 2nd time for a stretch of 6days this year Dec as our first stay in 2010 was a great one. We had liked the hotel being new then, conveniency of a mini mart just besides it, a night market at a walking distance, the whole sales street just across, walking distance to the Taipei main station and down alley shopping malls.

However, this trip,the disappointment is with the room cleanliness and hotel breakfast.

We had noticed that the bedsheets were not changed and room was not vacuumed or dusted everyday as we could see the same stains on the bedsheets with dust on the table tops during our 6 days stay there even though the room had been asked to make up everyday. For a dust-sensitive person like me, I felt uncomfortable during my stay this trip. The breakfast was also very boring with the similar food everyday. If one or two special dishes can be introduced or a change in cusine every other day, it will be more interesting.

This is our second time visiting Taipei after 32 years. Most of the Taiwan people are friendly , so as the hotel staff as well. The breakfast is a typical local cuisine. The variety of food may be limited for westerners, but we just love this Taiwan style breakfast. Will come back to stay in this hotel if we visit Taipei again.

I chose to stay 3D2N in New Continental Hotel Taipei because I saw from Google Map that it's walking distance from Taipei Main Station (whereby travelling via other MRT lines and to Taoyuan Airport is convenient). It's not too difficult to locate the hotel - it's about 10 minutes walk from Y17 exit of Taipei Underground Mall.

Upon arrival to check-in, I requested for a room that's not at any corners (as usual of my request), but the counter lady wasn't as friendly as expected. Nevertheless, she still gave me a free upgrade to suite which isn't a corner room. Really appreciate that.

I love everything about the room like the spacious area and the design, except for the television channels. I personally love watching Taiwan entertainment shows on channels like 三立电视台 and 中天綜合台. To my horror, the hotel didn't have these channels.

On the last morning, I was showering in the bathroom when I realised that the shower head had lesser water gradually, and eventually left drips of water. After feedback, the water only resume after 20 minutes.

Boyfriend and I didn't enjoy the breakfast buffet in the hotel. We passed our breakfast coupons to the waitress but was instructed to place them on the counter ourselves (with a rather unfriendly tone). I must say that the leftover potions were pathetic enough that we didn't had enough. We ended up heading out for fresher food to fill our tummies afterthat.

Location not bad - Ningxia Night Market is just a10 minutes walk away.

Awesome location with a supermarket right below and many shops within walking distance. In fact, just walking out of the hotel gives you access to a small shopping district that's great to explore if its not too hot. Not exactly very near to the train station, you have to walk about 10-15 minutes so if you have heavy luggage, I would suggest you to take a cab there; if not, you should still be able to walk. Room was clean and comfortable, no 5-stars standard but reasonable enough to make you not want to leave.

If there is one area that the hotel should improve, its probably the breakfast or the service quality. Staff don't seem to care about giving good service and you hardly see them wear a smile. Would consider it odd for service staff in Taiwan not to smile but yeah. Hotel check in was slightly late as well.

Apart from that, fantastic hotel! Will definitely go and also recommend YOU to go.

This hotel is totally over-priced. For the same price (or less) you can stay somewhere convenience. This hotel is far from any underground stations I ended up taking taxi all the time; Staff had attitude and were not helpful at all; But my biggest problem with this hotel is that it is right next to a \"Massage\" place, random strangers came kicking on my door - and it happened MORE THAN ONCE. I will not stay there ever again and I do not recommend any female or family to stay there either.

The location is really good to me, because I took the Taiwan High Speed Rail to Taichung. There is a free shuttle bus from the THSR station to the Taichung Park. The hotel is just beside to the Taichung park.

I have found the steamboat restaurant near the hotel too. GOOD!

以前リブランド前に泊まったことがあったので、寧夏夜市にも行けましたし。
歩いて迪化街にも行ったりしました。
