The hotel has a strategic location, next to the Q Square Mall, opposite the Taipei Main Station (for High Speed Rail and Metro) which is just 5 min walk away. The hotel provides complimentary shuttle bus service to Taipei Main Station. The staff were generally very warm, personable and friendly. I would like to commend a staff called Ricolt who welcomed us to the hotel on the first day and sent us off on the last day. The hotel provided an extra standing lamp for our hotel room when I told them that I found the room a bit dim. The only negative feedback was that we were not used to the toilet and the bathroom transparent glass door which could only be shielded by the curtain.

Situated in a prime and convenient location. The airport train is nearby, it has an upscale mall beside it with plenty of food choices, nearby establishments for breakfast and late night bars, and I’ve signed up for 3 day tours, all of which had their starting point with 17min walk from the hotel.

We really liked the place. It was very different to any hotel we stayed before. The service was excellent and staff were all helpful. We had lounge access, and the lounge was quite lounge and atmospheric, like a library. We also were given access to the restaurant for dinner, which we didn't expect. Breakfast was also good with lots of choices. The room - deluxe suite king room, was spacious, clean, had a free minibar, had their own AI assistant and very cosy. The location is also very good and close to the main train station. The hotel was next to Q Mall, if you like shopping. We would definitely stay there if find ourselves in Taipei again. Next time, we'll make sure to get a reservation for Le Palais, the 3 star Michelin restaurant in the hotel, which was fully booked during our stay.

Convenient location. Room was big, we booked family room. Hope they add self service ice machines, hot water dispensers and self service laundry. We don’t really want to use the kettle after seeing posts on people using kettles to disinfect underwears in other hotels. Housekeeping seems to be lax, they only replaced one of the three towels we used, the bath tub had water which we dis not even use.

Nice cool looking hotel near Taipei Main Station. Rooms were clean, spacious and had good amenities except don't expect toothbrush/toothpaste. Free breakfast. Nice lobby area. great and very helpful staff.

Cons:
Restaurant option is not great IMO. I was expecting much more for a 5 star hotel. Site says two main restaurants(Italian and Western/Taiwan) but they are basically the same restaurants in the same space. Just two different menus. As far as menu, options in either the Italian menu or western/Taiwan menu are abysmal. I tried both menus. Better off eating elsewhere.

Hotel is old and rundown not at all a five star experience. You cannot control the AC, it’s a fixed temperature. We had engineers and housekeeping coming. They pretended it was fine but it never got below 23C. Staff seemed sterile and clinical in your dealing, but also seemed a little bit terrified at the same time. The one bright spot was the housekeeper who was cheery and very helpful.

Great service from check in to check out. Staff welcoming and attentive. Stayed in a king room on the club level and did not regret it. Hotel location perfect. A street level pediatrician bridge next to the building takes you to Taipei Main Station and in the other direction (next door) is Q Square mall which is also connected to the bus station and MRT (but a bit of a walk underground). I read from other reviews about the hotel being dark and it is (hallways, lobby, dining area) but for me, it just made the stay more special.

Interesting though confusing place. Rooms are big and comfy and hotel locations’ good. But it’s very dark in there - lobby, breakfast room, amenities: no windows whatsoever. Rooms do have windows but there is like 15 different switches to turn on and off the lights and that’s still did not allow me to turn off an armoire (?) or a spot in the bathroom window. When you do turn them off, they turn on by themselves a bit later. I guess you want to have the staff explain that to you or just remove the main card to power the whole room off. So it’s an experience, in any case. Not bad but still different 😆

Staff very attentive, room very spacious, clean and comfortable but the real standout was the breakfast that both we and our kids loved - great variety, very tasty and served in their Le Thè restaurant, which offers unique atmosphere. This time we couldn’t get to try their highly praised 3-Michelin star Palais restaurant, but this came hugely recommended by our friends too. All in all, great stay and highly recommended for families with kids.

This hotel is located very near to the Taipei Main Station as well as next to a great shopping mall with a great food market on the B3 level. Finding the hotel was a challenge coming out of the AirPort Express. You can easily get stuck in the underground streets and get lost. Best to get outside and use Google Maps. They have a great breakfast buffet, but very pricey in Taipei standards.

Negative: the overall lighting is very dim, in lobby, breakfast dining room and hotel rooms. There’s statues at some common areas which is quite scary due to the dim lighting. Hotel rooms also not ideal due to bathing area is open and only using a curtain. Bathing is using a round tub which is quite high, not good for elderly to climb in and out. In winter, bathing would be very cold since the space is open

If you like niche theme hotel then this is great. However, personally I thought it was a bit OTT, there are plenty of great things about the place and location but it had too much of a business feel rather than a family stay.

The staff at check in wasnt the most helpful. I had lost a hat and enquired if it might have been mislaid there. The desk staff just ask for my passport and ID 3 times. Rather than saying, 'How can I help?'

This gave me the feel that it is very business and formal environment.

Would I stay again, probably not with loads of alternative options in the area.

This is a nice upper scale hotel of the traditional era. The decor is very peaceful and the staff are very kind.

I wish the water pressure for making a bath was better. It takes a long time to prepare a bath, but it is nice to have bath salts supplied by the hotel. Also, the AC fan is very loud and the room had too much humidity.

The breakfast had many options and the food was tastly. However, you cannot order a raw egg for your rice (or nato). There is also no 'easy over' option when ordering eggs. So, preparation of the eggs with a soft yolk was always a hit or miss!

In all, I think the value is good and the hotel is conveniently located next to the TPE main station.

Breakfast spread was sufficient and till 12noon, therefore do not need to wake up early for breakfast. Room is surprisingly big and free water dispenser at the sparkling room, saved the hassle to purchase drinking water. Staff were all very friendly and could speak many languages. Room AI was quite fun. Daily making up of room as required. Amenities like bathroom slippers and kettle were all available. Location was great with Qsquare just next to the hotel, close proximity to Y5 Taipei underground and Taipei Main Station. I enjoyed staying here, will definitely return again.

Wonderful hotel in UNBEATABLE location and service. All the reviews regarding the old European luxury feel are very true. Hotel is part of a huge mall building (Q Square) and also part of the Taipei Main Station underground. There are countless shops, convenient stores, and restaurants within 2-5 minutes walking distance.

Service: EXCELLENT
Upon arrival, the concierge and reception teams provided extra courteous and attentive service. We found the restaurant service to be outstanding as well later. Special shout out to front desk manager Chris and restaurant manager Ellen.

Amenities: OK
Hotel has a very simple gym located on 17th floor. There is also a lounge for guests on the top few executive floors. There is no swimming pool or spa.

Rooms: Needs improvement. The BEST thing is the soundproofing. I see traffic on the street by the hotel but I don't hear it. My sister is extremely sensitive to noises, so we really liked this. We disliked the layout of the rooms with the vanity in the room and no separately enclosed bathroom. Plus the toilet room glass door is frosted but not the shower, doesn't make sense. There is also a soaking tub by the entrance. You can pull a curtain around the entire bathtub, shower and toilet area but it's awkward and takes up so much space when it can be improved by simply frosting the shower glass door enclosure. Also, it's difficult and confusing to control the lighting and the AI is not helpful, although it is cool

I loved everything about this place (5 star all the way) except for the light over the sink (negative stars if I could give them).

Since the \"bathroom\" is not a separate room, the light over the sink shines in the eyes of anyone trying to sleep in the bed. One person cannot be using that light while another is sleeping. Even worse, this light is set to a motion detector. If someone gets up in the middle of the night, the light will go on and shine in the face of the sleeping partner until the \"bathroom\" area is vacated and the light is manually turned back off. We couldn't figure out any way to disable that sensor. If there was any special switch combination to disable it, we couldn't find it and there were no instructions anywhere. What kind of idiot designs something like that?

Absolutely incredible hotel. Room was super spacious, beautiful and amazingly comfortable bed and linen. Bath and separate shower.
Breakfast (included in my price) is MIND BLOWING. It's too hard to explain - but they have Movenpick ice cream buffet, noodle station, hot food (i.e. mains style), eggs, crispy bacon, charcuterie station, fresh sour dough that you cut yourself, pastries, dessert pastries, cheese - EVERYTHING you can dream off. Served in the most beautiful luxurious dining room. (check out the bathrooms connected to the dining room).
My room also included the salon, amazing convenience. I could sit in a beautiful spacious room, where I was served freshly made tea. They had a great selection of snacks and also had wine, beer, spirits to self help.
I also managed to use the gym every morning, a really great selection of equipment and there was plenty for anyone that wanted to exercise.
Had I known the hotel also had a 3 Micheline star restaurant, I would've tried to make a reservation to eat, but alas it was CNY and fully booked.
HIGHLY recommend, worth every dollar!

Great location, clean room, friendly staff. You can spend the whole day in the mall next door, and never see the blazing sun between Taipei Main Station and Zhongshan Station just by traversing the underground malls.

If I had to say anything, it's that the room itself is a bit dark, and has enough mirrors to make a mirror maze. Otherwise, great place to stay!
