Room is clean, easy check in & check out, right at the night market, it can be pretty noisy during the night because it’s right at the Main Street, but it didn’t bother us that much. The included breakfast was impressive, lots of choices, you can even make your own noodles. We will definitely come back. Highly recommend.

Showers and toilets are clean and well maintained.

This is more like a hostel, with many shared room with 2 bunk beds. Since all rooms are on the 2nd floor, the man and woman bathrooms are close to each other. The area is next to the evening market, and along the street are so many eateries. It is about 10 mins easy walk to the subway so location wise it is very convenient. Breakfast was only ok. Service was ok as well. They do offer storage for your luggage when you have to check in early or check out late.

Large, multi-floor modern, full facilities to heat food, clean dishes, do laundry, vending machines for snacks and necessaries ( purchaseable shower shoes, small towels) Change machines. Lounge areas for group gatherings or to enjoy meals. Has rooms with single, double beds (some appeared to have showers) and quad bunk beds. Bunk bed rooms have a locker with a key (deposit needed/returned) Only issue was lavatories were just a little dirty but cleaned daily. Understandable though as it appeared that several schools and/or teams of young frenetic boys were on my floor xD
Only issue was snoring by bunkmates (They sell earplugs!) Maybe guest questionnaires should ask: Do you snore?
Many eateries just outside the entrance But there also appears to be a cafeteria being used by the school boys and guest families.
Very much like large youth hostel facilities of NL.

The location is convenient. I am a solo female traveler. I felt safe there the whole time. Each bed in the shared dorm room has a small storage area which can be locked with a key. It's big enough for two standard-size backpacks.

Not Recommend for Female Traveller

Location wise, quite convenient as it is just 7 mins walk from Shuanglian MRT (red line) and 1min walk to NingXia night market. However, I would not recommend female traveller to stay in this hotel. It's not an usual hostel where security is tight. The whole floor is shared with other hotel guests. For example, there are around 20 hotel guest rooms + few hostel guests. Shared toilets are located at the back whereby Male & Female toilet just next to each other. Meaning that, any hotel guest or Male guest can actually enter the Female toilet without even your realisation. Imagine if you come back at night and take a shower, any Male guest might just hiding outside and take your picture. Cleanliness is bad. I shared with 3 other ladies and the room is super small. All my room mates enter the room without changing their shoes. Imagine the smell of their feet and dirtiness of the shoes. Bed is super hard too. I totally can't not sleep well.

The place was exceptionally clean and modernized. It's sketchy outside, but the hotel is nicer than i anticipated. It seems to be primarily a dormitory for youth on tours or sports trips and can be a bit noisy, but all was quiet by 9.pm. Our room for my wife, me, and son, was private with three twin beds. I found only one english channel on TV: Cinemax, captioned in Chinese. Full sized coin-operated washer and dryer were a welcome sight. Breakfast was Chinese -- lots of noodles and broth.

There is a hotel employee who lives in the unit, and believes he is staying long term. There is no problem with this, He is also a nice boy, but the problem is that because he is staying for a long time, the only common area of the room is occupied by his clothes and shoes to dry, we even have no enough of space to open our own suitcases, but every staff is very warm and helpful.

Very convenient area! My son left his gift on the bed and checked out. He called the hotel in the evening and tried to get it back. Fortunately, the hotel staff found it and called back to keep it. After he came back hotel from other places, he got it back from front desk. It’s very nice and cared staffs. Really appreciate them.

Nicely situated next to Ningxia night market, walking distance to Carrefour & Shuanglian mrt station. Lift from ground level to 2nd level (hotel). However as our room has windows next to the street level, frequent ambulance siren can be heard. Not enough parallel bars in toilet area to hang towels, though the toilet is pretty spacious and clean. Some of the towels very pretty old and torn. Very happy to know that the hotel breakfast has been extended from the previous 930 to 10am. Breakfast is simple and nice with 4 different main dishes everyday. If you are tired of the hotel breakfast, there are several food stall are ground level as it is a market during the day. At night, certain food stall are also open for business. If not, there's always night market. Overall, a value for money accommodation, definitely my choice for my third visit.

Great location. Next door to Ning Xia night market - great food. Close to metro and easy to navigate area. Reception staff were excellent and assisted with our enquires. Room facilities very good. Also had use of the dormitory pantry to use microwave. Hotel split into hotel rooms and hostel dormitories. It was great to mix with all age groups yet have a private room with great bathroom/ shower. Breakfast was very good with Asian choices.

I really liked the privacy of this hotel. My wife and I could have been social if we wanted to (there were plenty of opportunities) however, we both got a little sick and just wanted to keep to ourselves. It was perfect for privacy and having some space. There’s a lot of really convenient shops that are right next to it to, so you can walk wherever you might need to go.

It is closed to the night market. It is clean and spacious and modern. It even provided a snack time from 6pm to 9:30pm free of charge. The popcorn is tasty. The breakfast is good. I definitely will stay in this hotel whenever visiting Taipei again.

i request to change bunk bed . bcos my bed at ground floor near the door.there said full, however i saw my neibour check out .instead there request me to pay TWN600.if i want to change. serviced was not flexible. share toilet and bathroom are very compact. not good. only thing is location near to ningxia night market. stay other hotel if you have better choice.

Was double charged and nobody seems to help!!

Although the hotel is clean and nice.. I had the worse experienced in this Hotel. I booked thru Hotels.com and was double charged evenif there's a disclaimer that it was not charged in my CC, still was asked to pay in cash upon checked-in reassuring that it will be charged back.

My booking was last Nov 2018 and it's already Feb 2019 and until now i haven't receive my money.

I've been contacting CU Hotel but all the contact details published are unreachable!! Ive contacted Hotels.com but they said it should contact you directly, nobody seems so helpful!!

Please return my money!! I need my money back!

Really good rooms with plenty of privacy. However charge for use if bathroom slippers and locker whereas other places I stayed at, these were included in booking price. Laundry and dryer facilities very useful and good. Location slightly hard to find when arriving, entrance not clearly marked if walking to the hotel on the same side of the road as the hotel. Place to charge electronics in room was slightly coming off the wall so would be good if this was fixed.

Average hotel in Datong area

First, the bad. We stayed at this hotel over the Christmas-New Year holidays. I travelled with my family (3 adults and 1 child), and informed the hotel before hand of the 3 adults staying. The hotel said it will charge me extra for the additional adult, which was fine. But I was surprised when they charged my child as a 4th adult. I complained to them about it, and the front desk said \"child\" is only up to 5 years old. My daughter was 8--so they charged her as an adult. I thought this was a bad guest service. Considering I paid 3 times the price for holiday premium, they could've waived my child's fee. (mind you, the additional fees did not give us an extra bed)

That said, the hotel is located in the Datong Area of Taipei, which is west of the city. It is around a 10 minute walk from the Shuanglian Station (Red) line. So it's near the Shilin area. There is a Mcdonalds, MOS Burger, and Louisa Coffee along the way to the MRT Station. At night, the hotel is just next to the Ningxia Night Market. So, there is a lot of local food around the area.

The room we got was a twin bed room. And these rooms don't have any windows. Size is small. But bed is comfortable, and A/C is good. TV has Chinese and English channels. Water bottles are regularly stocked.

Bathroom is made of glass. There is frosting in the midsection, but still not much privacy. So I would avoid this hotel if you are travelling with friends.

The breakfast time is between 7 to 9:30am (it's pretty tight).

Mos burger fast food outlet and a few dessert shops also nearby. Walking distance from mrt with a few \"bumps\" for those with wheeled luggage.

I booked the single room (careful not to book a single bed since this hotel is also a hostel). I wasn't able to stay the full reservation but for the time I was there, it was nice. The room was clean but a little small. I wasn't able to comfortably put all my luggage out. Shampoo and body wash were in dispensers in the shower and not in individual bottles, which I didn't care for. The free breakfasts which came with the package required coupons which I had to contact the front desk staff for daily. It would have made sense to have given me all the tickets at once instead or keep a ledger of the qualified rooms at the dining room reception. Otherwise, it was a good stay. To the right of the hotel (upon exiting) is the Shuanglian subway station (about 5 minutes away). To the left is the Ning Xia night market. Staff spoke English just fine and was accommodating. If I ever return to Taipei, I would stay again.

Very nice, modern, clean hotel. Very nice front desk staff. Nothing spectacular about facilities when compared to typical American hotels but when compared to Japanese business hotels, more space to move around and when compared to some SE Asia hostels, definitely very clean and makes you able to relax. Breakfast and free afternoon snacks left much to be desired but very convenient to lots of good local, cheap food. Very convenient to train, main station, night market and local markets. Room comfort low because no window and guests can be noisy in the hall.

Great location and friendly service!
