I stayed in a bungalow and it was steps from the restaurant with ocean views. Behind the restaurant was access to the main road that was a 10-15 minute walk to the middle of the town.

This is a very nice property. Before you think it’s on the pricey side, be advised that you’re not going to find any Ritz Carlton or Mandarin Oriental hotels on Easter Island. The Taha Thai is probably one of the top two or three hotels on the island, and the other two are very very expensive. This is an amazing property, and the restaurant is top-notch.

From the moment you check-in at the hotel, the staff are available to assist with your needs.

The restaurant menu offers a variety of very tasty dishes.

One should consider booking various tours through the hotel. The operator is very reliable and the tour guides are, at a minimum, bi-lingual (Spanish and English).

The hotel is in walking distance of two banks, numerous restaurants and an artisanal gifts centre.

Taha Tai is within walking distance to restaurants, supermarkets and downtown area. Continental breakfast at the hotel restaurants is right by the ocean with a great view of the blue waters of the pacific. The additional benefit of staying at Taha Tai is that they can arrange tours for you and you are picked up at the hotel.

We stayed in a a regular room within the main building. There are also more costly bungalow rooms in rhe gardem.

Rooms are good size but fairly basic. Bathroom could do with renovation. Shower over bath with horrible cheap plastic shower curtain. Cleaning was a bit perfunctory. By European standards would only consider to be a 3 star so expensive at almost £200 gbp per night but then this is Easter Island.

Good location, just a few mins walk from the main street and the waterfront and lots of eating places.

Friendly staff.

Breakfast was OK. Fairly simple and same each day. Nice terrace overlooking the ocean where you can also get lunch and dinner although we didn't eat there as so many other options.

Small pool with wooden sun loungers and some sun shades.

Whilst not fancy, it was comfortable enough and didn't expect top quality in this location.

There is a cold and hot water dispenser at the reception area that was convenient. The beach is close by as are many shops and restaurants. There is a convenience store close by.
I had dinner at the Restaurant twice and it was delicious!

Had a wonderful stay at Taha Tai. Truly enjoyed the dining experience, the amenities, and a clean and comfortable room with an in-room safe that fits a laptop. The location was perfect for exploring. It had a very warm feel. I stayed in the hotel (not the cabanas) and I really enjoyed it. The front desk staff were also very helpful in arranging tours and assisting with any questions I had during my stay. The environment was charming overall with a very Polynesian feel. I also appreciated the thoughtful attention to detail in the decor and landscaping. It was a great spot to enjoy a relaxing Easter Island getaway. The restaurant and breakfast were also very lovely. I look forward to returning again soon.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a dance show offered in the dining room on weekends that we were lucky to attend and I would highly recommend! Breakfast is the best, not a lot of options for VEGAN, but plenty of fruits, fresh juices during breakfast.

Rooms are nice and comfortable.

The lobby furniture is a bit old, and cushions were not as comfortable, but not a deal breaker. I would definitely recommend that place.

We stayed in the cabins which are very roomy and comfortable. The restaurant is good and its view of the ocean is great. They have a traditional show twice a week and that’s easy and fun to attend. WiFi is only in the lobby and it’s ok. The staff is nice but they were always busy so not always that helpful. Overall it’s a good place and very convenient to walking to restaurants and shops and the harbor.

The staff was outstanding and they went out of their way to help me with transportation and sightseeing! I doubt I could have had this service anywhere else. They were absolutely great since I am a bit handicapped and they gave me a special room. Maururu Travel Tours were working closely with the hotel and really helped me see everything.

The restaurant was the best too. I had the baby back ribs cooked in honey and the bones just fell off so easily. I never ate ribs like that before! I had the tuna platter and the fired shrimp on other nights. Everything was outstanding.

I also enjoyed the Rapa Nui Folk Dance show that was held in the hotel, which was very convenient.

I stayed for 7 nights and wish I could have stayed longer. I really had a great time. Over the years, I've travelled extensively and this was probably one of my best vacation experiences. Thanks to a fabulous staff and July, who spent hours before I arrived to finalize my itinerary, everything couldn't have been planned better.

I highly recommend this hotel!

Stay was great. Water cooler in lobby to fill water bottles. Restaurant very good for free breakfast. Had 2 nights for dinner. Pricy, but no more than other equivalent eateries around. Food fresh, tasty and nicely presented. Bungalow 9 was a very good choice as had what we thought the most private patio space, but the others which bordered on the pathway are good as traffic is light.
Front desk helpful with ordering taxis and making local calls. Grocery store only 5 min easy walk away.

We stayed a week and enjoyed every minute of it. The breakfasts were wonderful. The restaurant where they were served has an outdoor terrace overlooking the waterfront. There is a roadway between the restaurant and the ocean but it is mostly hidden behind block wall and hibiscus bushes and is not conspicuous.
Every single person on the staff is super friendly and helpful. The front desk organized all three of our tours. we were blessed with the best English speaking guide that we had in Chile.
The rooms are clean and basic. The bed was very comfortable and there was lots of hot water for showers. We were in room 17 which overlooks the pool, with an expense of grass between the room’s outside seating area and the pool deck. The pool is a very comfortable temperature. Pleasant.

The hotel is a very short walk to lots of good restaurants and downtown Main Street for shopping. There is a new grocery store about a two minute walk away where one can buy cold wine and beer and cheese and salami, hummus, baguette, etc. In the lobby there are refrigerators where are you can keep your groceries chilled . We took great advantage of the service. The wine glasses are on a table inside the fridge. You could also make a cup of tea or instant coffee here.
It’s taken me my whole life to get here to Easter island and if I were ever fortunate enough to come back I would definitely stay at this hotel again

Included breakfast got you day started right for hiking and touring island. Had a nice little pool for cooling down after a long hot day. Room with king bed in bungalow was very comfy.
Property was a short easy walk to town area if you didn't have your own car. Nicely landscape property.

Shower could have used a good mold scrubbing but otherwise everything was very pleasant.

Well located - in a quiet part of town and right by the water - convenient hotel with good value for money when we visited the island. Service is attentive, rooms and bathrooms are clean, plenty of hot water, comfortable beds. Food is good and the breakfast has many options, including home made pastries. The only drawback is that the walls are quite thin, so you can hear your neighbors when they wake up, or if you happen to have a family with babies nearby, which was our case.

I can’t say enough good about this place. Great location, super staff, cute bungalow room, hot shower with strong water pressure, beautiful flowers all around grounds. There was a little confusion on our reservation and they went above and beyond making it more then right. Dining room, Servees Cristian and Genesis were like old friends. Reception staff great but no place has an employee as great as the receptionist Javier. He made us feel like royalty, not just once, but every time we saw him. He was outstanding.

There were major concerns with my room which were blatantly ignorantly ignored by Management. Firstly, if you are basing your decision on pictures from the website take note; the renovated bathrooms are only for the bungalows and not for any other rooms onsite. My bathroom looked nothing like how it was from the pictures and more worryingly, the toilet areas, ceiling, bath tub and tiling had black mold, obviously due to lack of cleaning. There was rust on the faucets and my bathroom window had a hole and did not shut which not only was it a safety issue (someone could break into the room) but it allowed mosquitoes to enter the room freely! The main room also had black mold on the ceiling. At almost $200 per night for a single occupancy, this was absurd. Although I did complain to the staff and management, no one came to visit me or view my concerns until I requested a member of the management team to inspect my room the night before checkout. The Manager on site agreed that the room was not up to par. I advised her that I did request a refund through Expedia but this was denied by the Management team of the hotel. Upon check out, the Manager did provide me with a handwritten apology note and a small token which was appreciated but at the end of the day, I stayed in a dysfunctional room that had major health and safety concerns and did not receive a refund for the inconvenience; shame on you!

Good value in a nicely maintained property

Very pleasant stay at this nice property. Realize that you are traveling to a somewhat primitive part of the world, and set your sights accordingly. That said, the place is in good condition, and is air conditioned, which puts it ahead of many of its competitors. The included breakfast buffet was very nice, and the dining building is quite new and nice, with a lovely terrace overlooking the ocean. The pool is also new and attractive. One weakness is the WiFi, which is spotty at best, particularly in the times. One extremely maddening feature is that the server will kick you off the WiFi after just a couple minutes of non-use. It will not automatically connect you when you return from being away (as nearly every other system does), and forces you to log in all over again each time. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but to many people, this may be enough to steer you to another property. All in all, a nice stay in a well located property, and a decent value.

Good points: Good location walking distance to main amenities, and room was spacious and clean. We were locked out of our room one morning which was pur fault and the man at front desk was extremely helpful!

Bad points: no fridge or water is provided in the room. We had to almost beg the receptionist to sell us some water at night, even though the water was next to the front desk as it was after 11pm....it waa \"after hours\". We found this a bit strange. Hotel was very very quiet with not much atmoaphere and felt a bit impersonal. Also...we were shocked by breakfast coatibg 22usd but never tried it so it could have been amazing!

The hotel was a lot nicer than what I had expected after reading online reviews. The staff were friendly and efficient. The surroundings relaxing.
No electric kettles in the rooms but free hot water available in the hotel foyer, just boil the jug. Cold water for refilling drink bottles available for $US1.
Good food in the dining room.
I would recommend this hotel to everybody.
Bring your swimming costume.

We had a great time in Rapa Nui, made even more wonderful by the staff of Taha Tai. Special mention to Pabla who helped us with the rescheduling of our stay in the island because of a flight cancellation. She and the rest of the hotel staff turned what would have been a problem into a memorable vacation.

Taha Tai excedes our expectation

All things were awesome. From the pickup from airpot, fast check-in, spacious and confy room, working (to Rapa Nui terms) internet, great breakfast and restaurant as a whole, towels for beach and nice pool. For the good price I have got from Hotels.com at not cheap Easter Island it was amazing stay.

Nice hotel centrally located

We stayed in the bungalow which is nice. Hotel 5 mins to bank, 10 mins to town n pier, 40 mins to museum. There is a Restaurant across hotel was good. Haka honu is water front Restaurant next to bank. 20 mins walk to Mahia Restaurant, food is amazing n best sunset view. The full day tour and half day to orongo crater was worth, the other half day tour was disappointing. We also did a snorkelling trip to birdmen island , amazing. There is a pier 5 mins away from Mahia that has better pricing than main pier from town.
Hotel staff friendly n helpful. Breakfast was really average. Menu same for the 4 days which is disappointing.
I would stay here again.

Comfortable by the sea

The hotel was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. Location was good, easy walking to the main street. Nice pool. They did forget to pick us up at the airport but one of the other drivers called the hotel then took us there. All in all highly recommend.

A very pleasant hotel

A very pretty, well presented hotel, just a 10 minute walk from the small harbour area of Hanga Roa.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone staying on the lovely Easter Island.

Good 1 or 2 night stay near airport, free shuttle

Good resturants, clean comfortable rooms. Pleasant small pool, hottub and sauna. Can shuttle to a big mall for shopping food and entertainment. Nothing else to do without a car. The shower is not good, changes from hot to cold and little water.
