This is a beautiful property that needs lots of maintenance. The staff is very friendly. The food at the restaurant is good even if they take too long to cook.

The condition of the hotel is par at best. Needs maintenance. Hot water takes 10-15 minutes to come out of a shower that spits water all over.

Absolutely horrific. The mattresses are falling apart, street view has parties up to 5 am. Towels must be from the 80’s. Check in was really sketchy. They told us they only had room for one night, and that the following day we would have to be put on waitlist. That is when I checked Expedia and there was availability for our entire stay. The man said I shouldn’t do it through Expedia as I would get an email with a cancellation which was not the case.

Las habitaciones lucen descuidadas, me tocó una que ni pantalla plana tenía, en el baño no salía casi agua, falta personal en la recepción y en general creo que están sobrepasados. La recepción es lenta y no explican bien o atienden como en otros lugares. El estacionamiento es un caos. La alberca luce sucia.
No hay siquiera servicio de botones
El hotel parece más de 3 estrellas que de 5. Está muy lejos de serlo

This hotel is in a 500 year old Mission, one of the first Spanish buildings in the town. It was very historic and had a ton of interesting details in an incredible beautiful town. However on both nights we were there, Friday and Saturday nights, a large number of ATVs had a rally (there were at least 7-8 of them, some the 4-person kind), and the noise that they made from 9pm-past 11pm was absurd. You could barely hear yourself think, it was so loud. And the exhaust fumes entered straight into the room and stank up the whole place. The whole town was very noisy, and made it impossible to get any sleep. If you’re only functioning senses are your eyes, you’ll be fine. But if you also have ears and a nose, you might want to check to see if there are any ATV rally groups coming in the same day, in which case I advise staying somewhere else, if you plan on sleeping.

Terrible service. Dirty room. Ask for assistance to clean it or a towel so i could clean it my self, staff ignored us. Tvs dont work no a/c. Beds are extremely hard. Toilets dont flush good. Towel for the pool are worst than rags.Hotel has potential but needs work. For the same price or lower you can get a way better hotel with great service and pool.

Es un hotel hermoso que se quedó en el tiempo...le hace falta mucho mantenimiento y limpieza. No tuvimos agua fria en el baño, solo muy caliente imposible de templar. No había blackouts en ventanas. Pero también hubo cosas buenas: El personal muy amable. Muy bien situado, fuimos con mascota y fue muy buena opcion. Porque habia donde pasearla.

A beautiful hotel, however I reserved two rooms one for my husband, daughter & I and another one for my dad and his family & for both it took about 40 minutes for the hot water to run, my father and his family had to shower with cold water. I let the water run until hot water came out but they did not know. The towels were so hard and dry they felt nasty. The tv was in an area that you could not plug it in to watch it which made no sense. Then in the restroom some kind of dry wall plaster thing kept chipping falling all over the bathroom sink and my stuff, I took pictures of it.

Horrible este lugar para quedarse! Los baños huelen todo el cuarto a caño según viene con un control remoto para la tele pero no te lo dan ! tiene agua la piscina pero está bien fría el agua y el yacusi no caliente el servicio es terrible! Según tiene internet incluido pero no sirve no funciona!no vuelvo a quedarme aquí me cobraron una tuaya y no me la dieron !! Es un robo de dinero este lugar !

La actitud de varios empleados de recepción es de mala gana.
Hay personas cuidándote y esta bien pero pareciera que están vigilandote y están espiandote en la entrada del edificio.
No tienen orden en el estacionamiento.
La alberca tiene químicos muy fuertes para la nariz.
El baño de la alberca esta muy sucio y esa parte de las instalaciones se ve viejo y descuidado.
Las instalaciones en habitación son muy sencillas, encontré pelos en la almohada.
Su tv muy pequeña y te cobran 200 por la renta del control qué te devuelven al final.
No está tan cerca del centro como varios mencionan, está como a 20 min. caminando.
En general, el hotel es regular. Hay mejores, más baratos y menos presuntuosos.

Yet, there is a massive underinvestment in the property and linens. The bed mattress was extremely lumpy (the kind where you can feel every spring in your back) and probably havent been changed in decades. The pillows are even worse. Towels/ bed linen is also old and has that crusty feel to them.
Food was pretty bad too (we just had breakfast) so would definitely suggest going out for food.
I think there are a lot better -value options in Taxco.

This is our 3rd time staying there and last time there was no hot water, it was just warm but we thought it wasn't big deal. This year the same thing, no hot water, we spoke to other guests on the same floor and they also didn't have hot water. It's a basic need and if they don't have any, they should have let us know as my grandfather is 86 years old and cannot risk showring with cold water. Also the towels are SUPER old, look more like old cleaning rags. Next time we go in December, we are not staying there, we are trying another hotel for sure./ Esta es la tercera vez que nos quedamos allí y la última vez, no no había agua caliente, pero pensamos que no era gran cosa. Este año lo mismo, sin agua caliente, hablamos con otros huéspedes en el mismo piso y tampoco tenían agua caliente. Es una necesidad básica y si no tienen nos lo deberían haber avisado ya que mi abuelo tiene 86 años y no se puede arriesgar a bañarse con agua fría. Además, las toallas son SUPER viejas, se parecen más a viejos trapos de limpieza. La próxima vez que vayamos en diciembre, no nos quedaremos allí, seguro que probaremos otro hotel.

The hot water takes at least a good 7-10 minutes to warm up, the shower faucet is as old as my grandmothers house,There is NO AC and no fridge. Pros: the room was beautifully rustic and the view was killer. Waking up to that view is everything! It just needs some minor upgrades to make the stay more pleasant. PSA: don't pay for the buffet, NOT worth it! The hotel is beautiful and the mine is incredible. My over-all stay was pleasant and unforgettable in a good way!

This is an older hotel in Taxco, it’s has been maintained, and retained the charms of the colonial era. The entire hotel personal is extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. We got a room with a great view from the city from the balcony. The room was clean as well as the bathroom. I only have a couple of things to point out. I tried to get a shower early in the morning, but there was no hot water, not even lukewarm. The other is that the electric outlet in the bedroom it is hidden behind the night stand, and does not have an electric cover.

This is a beautiful old building that saw its best days years ago. The rooms are awful. Beds felt like we were sleeping on a concrete slab. None of our rooms had hot water. The couches in the room were filthy and the bathrooms need major upgrades. They look like they’re from the 60s. It was not a comfortable stay and would not stay here again. It’s too bad because the building itself is beautiful but being left to decay in disrepair.

Great Stay & Views in Taxco

This is a fantastic hotel in Taxco. the views just can't be beat. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the Zocalo, but there is lots to see along the way. We would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was good and the pool area was beautiful.

The property needs major facelift. It's a beautiful property, but it hasn't been taken well care of it. Rooms are dated, furniture is in bad shape, linens are not the cleanist. Bathroom is not ventilated, slight sewer odor comes out of it. TV is old, no coffee maker, no drinking water. Not what you expect from a hotel property that claims to be too notch.

Great views and rustic feeling. However the property is not well maintained. Tiny TV , probably 15” or 17”, you need to rent the remote control. Only the luxury suit has a large TV, but all the lower type rooms have those tiny TV.
Bedding is also quite worn out, including pillows and towels. All clean but covers with some stains. The staff are quite friendly and do the best with what the owners give them. They have to wear their own clothes, which shows they do not get the necessary resources, only the restaurant staff have them. They also look understaffed, they do the best they can.
In general, for the rate you pay for the rooms, I think you can stay in more well maintained hotels, if all you care are the city views then this is a great place, but if you want to feel that you get what you paid for, find another place. It is a shame that the owners are not really investing in giving a better maintenance to this great property.

Ditry sheets and Jumping Fences

The hotel is rustic (old) and it reflects it. That is not a problem because it is what we expected. However, they really lacked on things they can and should control. The first problem was that the sheets were stained and there was an obious blood spot on the comforter. No hotel should ever put linens in service that are dirty. We brought the problem to the attention of the cleaning staff and they resolved it. The towels were clean but very old and rough. Our room was also infested by large ants, most likely due to the fact that the door did not seal properly and there were big gaps between it and the door frame.

The biggest issue is that we came home a little late one night (about 12:30 AM) and all of the doors and the gate to the property were chained shut. There was nobody around to let us in. We called the hotel with no answer and we waited to see if there was a guard who would be right back After 20 minutes we had to climb over the 6 foot fence. That was eaier said than done. When we check out the next day we told the desk clerk what happened and she apologized. She claimed that someone should be there 24/7 but there was no attempt to inform a manager or take any kind of corrective actions (not that anything change the fact that we had to climb a fence in the middle of the night).

All in all we were very dissapointed in the cleanliness of the rooms and the lack of attentiveness to our needs/ security.

You could not have asked for a better view from our room. The hotel had great charm and the employees were all very friendly. My only disappointment was that certain amenities were mentioned on hotels.com but were not available at the hotel. The wifi was only available in the lobby or public areas and there was not an in-room safe.

We called the front desk but they did nothing. Of course we could not sleep at all!

We got there and were disappointed almost right away. We got this place among other things, because it had cribs available (I called and asked the hotel). We got there, surprise! No cribs!. Then we got assigned the rooms. We had booked 2 rooms both with double beds. Instead, we got one with 2 double beds and one with a king and a something that cannot be described as a bed, or a futon. It was a tiny wood base with a bumpy “pillow top”. The mattress in all the beds were horrible beyond believing: bumpy, and uneven. The rooms were not taken care with regular maintenance- there are broken things all over, some are poorly patch (like a lamp hanging by a twisted metal hanger), must are not even patched.
Each one of the rooms we booked was meant for 2 adults and 2 kids. We got 2 towels per room. No big deal, right? We can always order the more (one would hope!!). First, the phones don’t work in any of our rooms (they are not even plugged, and when we plug them, there is no tone). So we decide to walk to the front desk to ask for them. The guy says “of curse, no problem”... 12 hrs go by and no towels. We see some housekeeping girls outside our room and request towels, again! And they make it seem like it is a problem. After good 30 min they come with 1 towel (we had order 4). There are no tissues in the room, and do not let me start with the amenities. There is no hand soap, all there is is some sort of shampoo in a tiny bag. The 3 available drawers are falling of from the main

Well this hotel its beautiful in architecture the views are incredible, the rooms are spacious the beds were comfortable in my habitation but in my sister's room not. The furniture is unique but I am doing this review also to let them know that the furniture needs special care to keep it beautiful. No very good in personal the personal was very nice, friendly and polite but not enough personal. The restaurant its beautiful again not enough personal so this created a mess in a morning buffet, food was ok.

Nice Old Hotel, big trouble with our room

They gave us a room that I would say had maybe months without use and cleaning, floor, furniture with dust everywhere. Bed dirty, smelling bad. The location of the Hotel is very good, the building is beautiful, an very old historic construction, full of history, beautiful, but looks like not very well maintained. Hotel staff very nice, they tried to solve our stay issues as soon as they could.

FANTASTIC VIEWS OF TAXCO WITH LOTS OF CHARM

The Posada de la MIsion is a quaint and charming hotel which was once part of an old mission. It overlooks the hill town of Taxco and offers fantastic views from the rooms, pool deck and restaurant. Taxco reminds me of the hill town of Tuscany in Italy.

The hotel is described as within walking distance of the Zocolo and Cathedral in the center of Taxco but in reality you really need a car or taxi to get there unless you enjoy lots of walking over uneven cobblestone streets.

The hotel is just off Highway 95 in a rather unattractive part of Taxco and unless you eat in the hotel restaurant for all meals, it is necessary to go into the center of town to find a descent restaurant since the ones within walking distance are not recommended.

We greatly enjoyed the refreshing large swimming pool with great views since most of the hotels in the center of town have little or no views and no pools.

The hotel's restaurant was very attractive with great views of the town and better than average food. We ate breakfast each morning on the terrace which was very enjoyable. There is a limited but appetizing array of items on the menu and the wait staff was most helpful and accommodating.

I am a big buff of historical inns and willing to pay a fair premium for it, and during my stay at Taxco, I decided to stay at Posada de la Mision based on its historic value and artistic qualities.

The inn is very pretty from outside. However, the boarding experience is a complete let down. I have never being this disappointed at the quality of the facilities, condition, and cleanliness, especially based on the price that I paid for the room here.

Upon entering the room, I found that the room was lit by two harsh fluorescent lights from a wall fixture. Furnishing was sparse and very elderly. The room had no AC, no fan, nor screen door for the patio. I decided to shower to cool down a bit, and found that there was only a single washcloth for both me and companion. Cleaning kit consisted of a tiny piece of soap and a small bottle of liquid that came in an unmarked bottle. Hot water from tap came in drizzle, and the hot water in showers didn't get warm until after I was almost done with the shower.

I had trouble locating a three-prong electric outlet, and finally found a broken outlet behind the nightstand that allowed me to plug in my laptop. The nightstand was really a wooden board on a concrete block, and when I moved the board, spiders crawled from underneath. Second morning in better light, I saw ants crawling all over the floor.

This place has the potential to be a top level boutique hotel, but sadly, the current state is a far cry.

El lugar en sí es excelente!!!!

La vista es increíble, la limpieza, el personal…👌👌!!!

Solo haría observación a que mejoren los alimentos y el menú, no son ingredientes frescos, es muy notorio y la variedad en los platillos, podrían agregar más elementos de la región

No es posible que ése Hotel tenga 5 estrellas, no hay manera que llene requisitos. No es adecuado para la discapacidad, mantenimiento pesimo, vive de excursiones que tienen ya contratadas
