We had a lovely stay in this hotel. I admit the rooms were very dated and needed repairs, so dont expect luxury. As for the location of this hotel it was fantastic. You could not get any closer to the beach and the outside bar area and seating area was very pretty with great beach views. This hotel is also situated by lots of shops and restaurants.
We had a very enjoyable stay.

It was a pleasant stay and the food was good. The rooms are basic and noise was sometimes an issue but overall it was good. Some staff members couldn’t do enough including Loly, Eileen, Paola and dumi, would go again.

October 2023. Disgusting old rooms, breakfast was very mediocre but the restaurant was filthy, all cutlery and plates were dirty. Large physical key that is not safe in a fire as you have to lock yourself in and out the room from the inside with the key, housekeeping let themselves into our room half an hour before we checked out. Only stayed for one night and wish I hadn’t even stayed for that. Unknown red marks on the bedding and a cigarette burn hole, curtains look like they’ve not been changed since 2001, wall paper was peeling off, room smelt really bad, shower curtain was yellow and the shower sprayed all over the bathroom when you turned it on. Twisty hot and cold taps that drip all night in the bathroom and a pull knob on the wall for the toilet flush. My partner didn’t even shower here because the room just felt dirty. Walls were thin so we could hear other people, plus we were put in a room right by the lift so every time someone pressed the button we could hear it ding in our room. Additionally the hotel backs onto the train track so the noise of the train was extremely loud. Pool was in the shade all day and very small. Staff were friendly, none of the issues are their fault. Location was good as the hotel has a door that leads out onto the beach. Avoid at all costs, needs an renovation ASAP.

Check in was time consuming. The rooms are filthy. The best part about this trip was leaving. The beach is overcrowded and inundated peddlers. The AC broke and we were treated as if it was our fault. The AC, btw, really doesnt mean anything. Its just barely there circulation- no temp control. The bed might as well have been a sheet of plywood and the pillow was smelly. Do not book this hotel.

Disappointed in the room, bed was super hard and very uncomfortable. There was parties and music going on outside till 0300, couldn’t sleep much because of it. Wasn’t a 4 star hotel in my mind.

Excellent holiday at Htop royal Sun

My 4th stay at Htop royal sun I will be back again in August 22.
The hotel offers all I need, friendly staff, good food & the hotel is directly on the beach. The town has plenty of shops, bars & restaurants.
Transfer is 35 minutes from girona airport in July 2022 it was 57 euro. I was the all inclusive option & it’s definitely value for money.

Disappointing hotel - run down rooms

A former 4 star hotel that needs urgent refurbishment.
The sea view room I paid for as on the website was a different photo. Most of the rooms are partial sea view.
Very limited parking. No paid parking around and my car was broken into (don’t park on the road).
Hotel is located in a very crowded beach.

Location is excellent and that's got to be the reason for staying here. Good value too. Service is slow to say the least but that's because the beach cafe is busy serving it's restaurant customers and often leaves all inclusive guests just standing there while they ignore you. Pool beds are the rigid plastic type, old fashioned and uncomfortable. Room smells overpoweringly of about 30 years of cigarette smoke and all the cleaning in the world wont get rid of that.
But excellent location and value, good train service from both barcelona and girona airports make it very accessible at €5.50 one way.

Lovely position had sea and pool view from room. Plenty of areas to relax, pool, terrace,lounge. Beach is literally steps away and the sun beds and parasols are discounted for hotel guests. Great food choices every day. Unfortunately no tea or coffee making (no kettle) in rooms. There is a machine in bar where you serve yourself hot drinks. Would be good if they provided and enforced antibacterial gel on entering restaurant as all food is buffet service. We did have a great holiday.

The room is not comparable with a UK 4* hotel - but that’s okay because the service, food, cleanliness, facilities and location are great! The room is pretty standard: bed, wardrobe, TV, safe and shower room oh and an empty fridge. It was clean although in need of a refurb, nothing broken - just well worn! Right on the beach with a beach side bar, the sun beds on the beach are 3euros each for Htop guests which was great and towels are provided at reception (deposit needed). There was a good selection of drinks and food and as we were All inclusive it was great! We never had to wait for long at the bar and although the buffet was always busy we always got seated straight away - the food available was good, theme nights changed it up during the week with local cuisine being our preferred dish at dinner times. There is plenty to do away from the hotel and day trips can be booed at reception, we chose to go it alone to Barcelona and took the short walk to the train stop for the 1hr journey. A return ticket to barca was 10euros, bargain! Overall it was a good stay in a clean hotel on the beach with good food, service and location!

Hotel clean but could do with a refurb

Hotel uses a strange card system for all inclusive drinks. One card =1 glass, will only serve half pints and no more than two drinks at a time, so we couldn't get drinks for elderly relatives without multiple trips to the bar. Only local drinks included in all inclusive. Hotel clean and tidy but starting to look a bit dated. Excellent location right on the beach and half price sunbeds for hotel guests.

Stayed at the hotel 10 years ago thought it would be good to go back again.
Nothing had been done to update the hotel from the first stay very run down bedrooms and bathrooms are falling apart,choice of food was not good and either cold ore under cooked.

Very dated yet weirdly nostalgic.

We got this hotel at the last minute while traveling to Italy. We arrived late just in time for dinner buffet. This hotel is aimed at all inclusive foreign tourist market and stopped serving dinner at 21:30 :(
That said the food was ok and the staff were pleasant after they adjusted to us arriving to eat at 21:25. The hotel was quite dated and rather surreal, as was the surrounding area, we felt like we had timewarped to the seventies which was quite enjoyable.
The room was not the cleanest room and again very dated but after a long journey from southern Spain we didn't really care to much.
If you need a place to stay with a different experience and your not looking for a true 4star hotel then this is ok.
If you a bit more picky find somewhere else or just accept it as it is :)

Lovely place to stay

We stayed for 5 days Full Board and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we couldn't fault them at all. The food was of very good quality and varied a lot during our stay. Overall the hotel was very spacious, clean with a large bar, large reception, 3 pools and situated right on the beach.
The only downer is that its situated quite a distance from Barcelona Airport, Cab ride is 120 Euros!! and so we opted for a bus there 12 Euros and a train back 17 Euros. Make sure that your flight home is after 10am as the bus and train service do not start to run till around 7-8am then you're at the mercy of the taxis. Otherwise, a pleasure to stay there

Mattress and pillow were very unconfortable. No even bin in the room.

food in restaurant was like canteen food. They call it catalonia food, but it was bad and I have tasted better ones outside.

A Great deal right on the Beach!

This hotel has a fantastic location right on the beach. There is a nice patio and terrace area with a pool and pretty dated playground that opens up right to the beach. The train station to Barcelona is a 10 minute walk away. The ride is about an hour and 20 minutes and trains are every half hour or so. The hotel itself is pretty dated. It looks like it was probably beautiful when it first opened, but it is definitely worn now. There is a large game/ bar room with live entertainment. The breakfast buffett is wonderful and has a good selection. This hotel caters mostly to groups. We didn't book our dinner when we booked the hotel. Apparently you have to book ahead of time to eat at the buffett. They still let us eat and pay seperately, but I think it is because we walked in with the rest of the groups and started to eat already. We tried to eat at other buffetts at the nearby hotels, but they wouldn't let us in because we weren't staying there. The boardwalk on the way to the train station has several good restaurant choices. I suggest going there. For the price, this was a phenomenal hotel. Dated for a four star, but honestly all of the hotels in this town looked dated.

I booked 20 ladies into this hotel but when we arrived thy said they did not know we were all one group and we had rooms scatter from 1st to 6th floor. I cannot understand this as they were all booked in my name. Also the price of drinks was way over the top. 8 euro for a Drambuie.

The Royal Sun is situated right on the beach at Santa Susanna so you have the choice of beach or pool. The hotel has fabbulously friendly staff and they are very helpful and determined to make your stay as pleasant as possible. In the height of the season there is an outside and inside bar which helps stop too many people queuing at any one time. The food is excellent and there is a great choice at every meal, they even have vegetarian dishes which is rare for Spain. There are no noisy lager louts at this hotel as this would not be tolerated by the management. We went all inclusive which is good value for money. This is our 4th visit and we will return again.

Het enige fijne aan dit hotel is de locatie.
Gelukkig maar 1 nachtje geboekt voor doorreis.
Wat een verschrikkelijk hotel. Zwaar gedateerd, verlichting op de gangen kapot, vloerbedekking in de gangen versleten en vol vlekken.
Kamer op 6e verdieping, airco kapot, behang afgescheurd en vlekken. Vergeelde stopcontacten, wastafelmeubel uitgezet door vocht, gehorig, we hoorde de buurman hard snurken, plafondplaten kapot in de badkamer en verroeste kranen en veel schimmel. Vieze voegen en zeeppompjes en zelfs het schilderij aan de muur in de kamer was aan de binnenkant kapot.
We hadden nog gehoopt op iig een goed ontbijt, helaas ook heel slecht. Eieren van te voren al gebakken aan 2 kanten en werden opgewarmd op een grote schaal tentoongesteld. Oud, hard brood, vermoedelijk van de vorige dag.
Dat het hotel gedateerd is wisten we, echter vies en kapot kan echt niet.
Je kan zo in de liftschacht kijken, is een open ruimte en naast de liften zijn glazen luiken voor toegang tot de liftschacht. Tot onze schrik stond er een luik open, op kind hoogte. Als een kind hier in was gegaan had het 6 verdiepingen naar beneden gestort. Meteen gemeld bij de receptie en later was t gelukkig op slot.
Even bij het zwembad gekeken en hier was het al net zo erg.
De rand van het zwembad zag zwart van de schimmel.
Dit hotel heeft een complete renovatie nodig want de locatie is top.

À fuir absolument !
Les photos présentes sur le site ne reflètent en aucun cas la réalité de cet établissement en état de délabrement avancé. L'hôtel semble complètement abandonné : décoration vétuste, aucun entretien visible tant à l'extérieur qu'à l'intérieur.
Les ascenseurs étaient presque tous hors service, ce qui pose un réel problème d'accessibilité, notamment pour les personnes à mobilité réduite. La climatisation fonctionnait de manière intermittente et son bruit incessant rendait le sommeil impossible.
L'accueil du personnel laissait également à désirer, sans la moindre chaleur ni professionnalisme.
Je ne comprends vraiment pas comment cet établissement peut prétendre à une classification 4 étoiles, ni même figurer sur une plateforme de réservation reconnue comme Hotels.com.
Heureusement que nous n'y avons passé qu'une seule nuit ! Ce fut sans conteste la pire expérience hôtelière que nous ayons vécue. Fort heureusement, notre hébergement suivant nous a permis d'oublier cette nuit catastrophique.

Très déçu, heureusement c'était du dépannage pour une seule nuit. Mais à ce prix (123€ la chambre uniquement) j'aurais probablement eu beaucoup mieux ailleurs.
Chambre vieillotte et ménage approximatif. Draps et serviettes de bain sont tachés.

Nous avions pris une chambre familiale pour 4. La literie n'est pas confortable, sommier comme matelas.

Le pire est la mauvaise insonorisation: les fenêtres sont en simple vitrage. nous étions au 4eme au dessus de la voie ferrée et le train passe toutes les 30 minutes jusque 23h au moins.

Le buffet du petit déjeuner est bien garni, il y en a pour tous les goûts mais la qualité est médiocre dans l'ensemble. Après pour 10€ il faut relativiser...

Le personnel est très aimable par contre.

Il y a 2 piscines mais nous n'avons pas eu le temps d'en profiter

Les fenetres ne sont asonorisees alors que nous sommes pres d'une zone de passage vers la mer, d'autres hotels avec leur animation mais aussi pres d'une ligne de chemin de fer. Le restaurant est tres bruyant car il est petit et l'affluence est grande, nous ne pouvions pas nous comprendre sans parler fort. Pour info, nous etions en pensions complete. La literie est mauvaise. Nous etions 2 adultes avec 2 enfants et nos enfants ont dormi sur des matelas mous posés sur des planches de bois. L'hôtel ne vaut pas son 4 etoiles. Nous avons rendu les cles en partant sans recevoir de Merci et sans qu'on nous demande si notre sejour de 15 jours s'était bien passé. Nous ne reviendrons pas. Le seul point positif, ce sont la nourriture, correcte dans l'ensemble meme si discutable parfois et la proximite de la plage.

Nous avons réservé une chambre vue mer et nous ne l’avons pas regretté !
Tout était très bien allant de la qualité de l’accueil jusqu’à la qualité du service de restauration où le choix était large .
L’hôtel est vieillissant mais très bien pour le séjour que nous avons passé

Je tiens à saluer l’équipe d’animation qui fournit un excellent travail pour proposer multitude de jeux et d’activités pour les grands et les petits

La escapada ha estado muy bien, Santa Susana es genial, el hotel está muy bien situado, a pie de playa, necesita una reforma, se nota que tiene ya años, pero lo compensa su gente, todos muy amables, en especial Paco, el metre, es espectacular, atento, amable y muyyyy simpático, así que sólo decir que por supuesto, espero volver, ésta es la tercera vez que he estado y quiero repetir.

Hotel ist renovierungsbedürftig. Keine Klimaanlage für die Nacht, wegen Klimaverschmutzung. Fenster gibt es nicht im Zimmer , Terrassentür wegen dem Einbruch kann man nicht öffnen. War also sehr warm drin.
Gutes : es liegt am Strand.

El hotel un poco antiguo y sin remodelacion. Se ve falta de mantenimiento. Las habitaciones no tubo aire acondicionado. En la recepcion me comunicaron que el sensor. Bueno mucha explicación pero nada. El baño ni donde poner la ducha .fatal . No lo recomiendo aunque este en primera linea de playa.el parqueo muy lejo a 15 minutos si encuentras caminando.

Lugar sencillo con necesidad de reforma en lavabos, puertas, aire. Etc. Buen servicio de limpieza, restauración y atención a los niños. Piscina pequeña pero limpia. Muy buena localización, la playa justo salir del Hotel. Para mejorar: compensar a los huéspedes si las instalaciones fallan y sobre todo no echarles las culpas. Ejemplo: Nos quedamos encerradas en la habitación porque la cerradura no iba bien y la persona de mantenimiento insinuó que hacíamos un uso inadecuado porque habíamos intentado girar dos veces la Llave... esa atención no se puede permitir en un 4 estrellas.

⛱ Sublime séjour à l'hôtel Royal Sun...nous étions idéalement situés , avec vue sur piscine ( laquelle nous avons pu largement profiter tous les jours surtout tôt le matin et soir tard pour un plouf en amoureux )et transats face à notre habitation mais également une vue sur mer 🏝 Juste exceptionnel...Quelle chance de pouvoir profiter de la plage juste en face , de la belle terrasse de l'hôtel avec pas mal d'animations en soirées mais également à proximité de la superbe avenue oú boutiques , bars , restos et animations rythment l'été pour nos escapades nocturnes.
