Rooms could do with being updated - found it odd that there was on only two plug outlets nether of them by the bed. All plug outlets were hanging out the wall broken but luckily they still worked! Staff were really friendly as my girlfriend is gluten free.

The location is fantastic. It's only 2 minutes walked from Roma Termini station. Close to Mercato Centrale and shopping areas. Staff was friendly and helpful. They provided excellent customer service. Room was great and clean. Breakfast was great. Highly recommended!

Room is very tired and the shower is leaking causing water everywhere. Hotel refused to change a room, it was still leaking next day after they claim it was fixed. This hotel is 3 star at best. Not only they’re kidding themselves by call ing them 4 star, it means I have pay more city tax (variable depends on star rating). On the plus side they provide free breakfast and the location is great.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Gioberti. The staff were extremely polite, professional, and always willing to help — especially Lorenzo, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The bedrooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We truly felt welcomed and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome. It is close to the Termini and not a far walk from the attractions.

I was blown away by this unassuming hotel. The moment I walked in I was greeted by a friendly gentleman who asked “Are you Sara?”. Of course I immediately felt welcome and he said oh it’s because you’re the last check in. It was so cute! The staff were friendly and made me feel important. I got a huge room and my requests were received and given. My bed was comfortable and also more quiet than I was expecting. The location was also perfect. If I were to come to Italy again this hotel would be my choice.

The bathroom was a disaster…when the shower was used it spilt all over the floor…basically a flood! It was obvious that Thad been an issue for some time …I took photos and videos of it and told the front desk of it, only to be asked if I had shut the shower door…Really, oh well obviously nothing was done and I couldn’t wait to leave!!!

Reception were friendly and welcoming. Rooms were a good size.

But there’s no sound proofing whatsoever. Entrance to the rooms has a buzzer when you swipe the card, so you hear the whole floor entering their room. Lot of running water noises and general mechanical noises. Not a peaceful night sleep at all.

The room was great, large to accommodate three of us. The hotel was conveniently located right next to the train station and a few minutes from the bus station, making getting around easy. The breakfast was great and the staff was helpful and pleasant.

The pros: Staff were friendly, hotel room was acceptably clean and ideally located next to Termini with some great food options. Twenty minute walk to the coliseum, so I’d consider it a walkable location.
The cons: Room 505, thermostat would not go below 22 Celsius so it’s a sauna and the windows wouldn’t open. The shower leaked everywhere so I had to cover the floor with towels. The door had to be shut with the force of Thor to lock properly and only one plug worked. The fridge did not work. The breakfast I would consider poor, warm milk and yoghurts and stale pastries. The bed was reasonably comfortable and was two singles pushed together to make a double.

It’s a solid three star and is a place to lay your head but definitely no frills.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Gioberti and would highly recommend it.

The hotel was only a two-minute walk from the main train/metro/bus station, which made it convenient for getting around in Rome.

The room was clean and breakfast buffet was good.

The staff were couteous and, whenever I had a problem, for example with the TV and the safe, they immediately sent someone to resolve the issue.

Located few minutes away from the main train, bus and metro station, Roma Termini. From the airport, take an express train, Leonardo Express €18/pp, to Roma Termini and exit through street level. Lot of businesses, restaurants, minimarts and people standing outside so beware of pickpockets. Check-in process was expedite and friendly by Lorenzo. He was friendly and helpful getting us oriented and provided great advices regarding transportation via metro. Surrounding the hotel are 2 very famous basilica: Saint Maria Major and Saint Maria Angels. Room size is very decent.. not a lot of storage spaces, bed & pillows are firm. Breakfast is very very standard with same daily men: scrambled eggs, sausages, cold cuts, cereal, yogurt, melon and oranges…

Honestly, for the price it was a fantastic stay. The area surrounding the hotel is loud, but we travel with a noise maker so it wasn't an issue for us at all.

Stay very far away from this “motel” because they were far from a hotel. From the moment we walked in, we felt unwelcome. Marco was rude, and spoke to us like he was doing us a favor with any answers he gave us. The room was small, dirty, and we felt extremely unsafe in the neighborhood. The description of the hotel and neighborhood is misleading. The shower didn’t work properly, the walls were dirty, there was hair everywhere, the toilet seat was yellow, and when I showed Marco a picture of the toilet seat, his answer, in a very nasty way, was “it’s old but clean. It’s all we have.” I asked for an iron, and they brought me a burnt iron with a disgusting iron board. The iron ruined my shirt. We went out for NYE and put a do not disturb sign on our door. When we got back that night, we noticed someone went in to our room. The iron and board were missing. I immediately called Expedia and asked that I be allowed to leave the hotel and I quickly made a reservation elsewhere. We left the next day. When I told Marco someone entered my room, he said impossible and wouldn’t believe us. I suggest the hotel check their cameras. The only nice thing about this place is Lorenzo, who was very sympathetic and nice to us. Thank you Lorenzo. This place doesn’t deserve you. NO NOT STAY HERE. There are so many more options in Rome for the same price and better value.

we stayed on two different nights due to a cruise. The first night I was not very happy with the room the carpet was a very stained and it needs an update but the second night was great! the room had tile floor throughout, very clean. The front desk was beyond nice in allowing us to check in early which was great as we were jetlagged. The breakfast was pretty standard but the same for the two nights we stayed. The location is fantastic as you are within walking distance to the Rome Termini which pretty much gives you access to everything you need. Overall, I would stay here again an would recommend the hotel.

The breakfast is horrible due to the food being undercooked and cold. The property staff was not welcoming at all. They came into my room 3 times without knocking to clean the room. This was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. The area around the hotel is unsafe with a lot of homeless people either sleeping in the streets or begging. The shower does not have hot water. Don’t book this hotel at all trust me!

Let me start off with the positive: the hotel was clean, the front desk person , Flavia , was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was good . They had a variety of food for breakfast.
On the negative side : the hotel is located not in a good area . At night we could barely sleep because it was very noisy. We could hear the people outside on the street . Also, there was also construction around the area during the night time. The people hanging around the hotel area did not look the most reliable people. The hotel although clean, needs to be painted. Some of the walls were stained and dirty. Also I reserved two rooms and although they charged me the same price, the rooms were different sizes . Some rooms are smaller than the others and they charge the same price.

Room was big, modern and comfortable. Location was fantastic a 2 min walk from Roma Termini Station. Hop on and off bus at Roma Termini.
Restaurants and shops in abundance.
Breakfast was more Continental, basic but nice.
Only downside was my room had a water pipe or similar above it so when someone used shower or toilet it was like a waterfall in my room. All hours.
Would definitely stay again.

All staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean the breakfast area was clean, up on the rooftop and welcoming with a great buffet for all tastes. The hotel was great in the fact it was so close to Rome termini, the hop off and hop on bus (I love Rome city tour, the hotel recommended them and they were great). Lovely restaurants, shops and money exchange/atms. There is a transfer option from the airport for around 80 euros. I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel is a block away from Rome terminal so easy to get around. Several eating options within steps of the front door, rooms are clean, maid service is excellent, room spacious and bed comfortable. Lots of hot water and everything worked. Front staff are somewhat helpful, check-in was delayed 2hrs even though I was told in advance I could check in early. All major attractions are within walking distance, tons of shopping all around. Good option for ease of getting around. Would stay again

The hotel is very close to Roma Trimini and the hop on and hop off busses were also close by. Many good places to eat near by. The area outside the hotel is dirty and questionable people hung near the hotel, but we were left alone. The breakfast selection was delicious, they offered scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh bread, cereal, yogurt, coffee, and juice. The staff that tended to breakfast was exceptional. The room was a good size, bed was comfortable. The room has air condition and it worked great until the last night when it stopped working, but we opened window and it was cool enough. Our shower leaked through the shower door and got water all over the floor, but it was tolerable. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.

It was a last minute reservations and an absolute relief to stay there. Very pleasant and helpful staff, quiet, spacious comfortable room for the two of us. Perfect rooftop breakfast included. Easy walking to Trevi fountain and Colosseum areas among other sites. Staff pointed us to several very great restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk. Easy to catch an early morning flight to FCO and they even packed us a breakfast to go. When in Rome we will stay there again!

my arrival date July 30.
I’m writing to express my grand disappointment with the experience I’ve had in this hotel. Our first night our lights in the room would not turn on, your maintenance staff needed to access the breaker in the room and had difficulty for over 10 minutes.
Our second day, the trash in our room had not been taken out, we called the front desk about it but no one came. At that same time, our lights would not turn on AGAIN. the Same maintenance worker came and figured out it was a faulty key, he took the key but we were then left with just 1. Later that evening, we realized that the lights would not turn OFF! Unless removing the key entirely , but that also meant we would not have bathroom light or air conditioning. We called front desk and were met with much hostility, I was told no one could help me and I was going to just have to sleep with the electricity off in the room. Your front desk staff told me he could not leave the front because it was against “Italian law” and there was no one to help. He offered to move us to a room on the 3rd floor, but I have a 7 month old daughter and no assistance- this was not feasible. As you know, I demanded to speak with a manager because it was unprecedented and ridiculous to hear that there was nothing any one could do about the faulty electricity in my room and not have ANY ASSISTANCE!
I was finally then given a key to room 504, and at midnight I had to move all of my belongings alone, with my infant daughter.

Easy to miss, but it's a solid hotel. We had a very pleasant experience: the room was good size, the complimentary breakfast was very welcome and tasty, and the location was not that bad, easy to get around the city! However, the check in was kind of average, we were the only ones in the lobby and the guy looked and talked like he was pissed off. Can't say the same about the other staff though, everyone else was very kind and helpful.

It was also hard to find authentic restaurants, most of them looked scammy, sketchy or didn't have Italian food.
