We choose Serenade hotel because of the beautiful and shallow beach. Great ocean without waves. But this is only good part about the stay the rest was terrible. Stuff at the buffet very bad. They gave us a table , while we were grabbing a food, nobody cleaned the table. No water or silverware. We got back to the table and were waiting minimum 10 minutes trying to find a table service, who can bring us at list forks. Front desk service also forgets about your needs . First day I asked iron, front desk guy told me he would send me a steamer to the room . Of course it didn’t happen. But the worth part happened when sink in my room got clogged up with previous tourists hair. First day water in the sink will go down very slow, but I did not pay attention. Second day after we took shower I noticed a lot of water under the sink. I called to front desk asked about maintenance guy . He came in a little bit tried to fix it he open up pipes under the sink and cleaned all this discussing stuff from it and left on the floor in the bathroom

We enjoyed our stay at the Serenade resort. Its flat and compact size suited our group well (elderly mother was able to navigate the distance from lobby to beach - about 400m). À la cart restaurants were excellent and the evening entertainment shows were really good, especially the Michael Jackson tribute show. Really well done.
You need to get up early to save chairs at
the pool or beach. Water slides were lots of fun. Breakfast buffet was ok. Rooms were a nice size. Tower 4 near the beach had partial view of ocean. Staff are very nice and helpful. Overall nice stay.

Some staff were friendly, waitstaff however were very rude. They’d come to the table and just stand there and glare and take out their pad and pen. Acred annoyed whenever we asked for anything. The resort needs extensive renovations. Marble tiles fell off front of swim up bar and they were just left as open gaps with spray foam. Pool water was cloudy. Toilet seats where actually missing in public bathroom off front of resort entrance our entire stay. Other public restrooms the majority of doors wouldn’t close because they were so rickety and leaning. Food was awful. All desserts except maybe a cake were just different colored and shaped jello. Rooms were run down with mold, squashed bugs on walls, peeling paint, old toilet seats. Drinks were not strong at all, tasted watered down. Weren’t anywhere near enough loungers for number of guests and they allowed people to put towels down all day to save chairs. Same on the beach. Beach was covered in seaweed and it was floating in the water. Resort right down from it somehow managed to completely clean up seaweed.
Dance show in theatre was ridiculous! 4 amateur dancers doing quick changes. Costumes old and ripped. Large screen on stage had huge pixelated break in it during every show. Read prior reviews mentioning this so it’s been broken for a long time. Mid stay the buffet room flooded or something and we all had to go to Mexican buffet for breakfast.
Coffee shop was good. Francisco Jimenez bartender was great.

The ocean was beautiful! The pools and \"hot tub\" were great! There was not a lot to do but that was perfect for my sister and myself. The food left a lot to be desired. Our favorite places to eat were the sports bar and sushi restaurant. The coffee shop was really good. Make sure to specify if your would like alcohol in specialty drinks at the bar!

Never wrote a review but needed to on this resort when we arrived we were preferred so the desk actually made reservations to 4 restaurants for us i thought but when the days came they did not also the air conditioner broke down 3 times to no avail called front desk let it wring about 80 times no answer had to walk down in person to complain for a third time the food was subpar except for the habatchi restaurant that was amazing.i will never go back

I Normally never write reviews but I felt compelled. Upon arrival the room was not ready at 3p no problem I’ll kill some time. They set me up with someone (very lovely guy) to show me around and set me up for a “special breakfast” at the nice resort next door. The room was ready some time around 4p. The sheets were not clean and the room had lot of mosquitoes. Don’t bother to put the do not disturb on door because the maids will just come in. Went for my “special breakfast” come to find out was a sales patch for timeshares. It was a weird interaction some man comes up to me and says well this is an hour presentation so if you’re not interested you don’t have to and if not no “special breakfast”. The next day another guy came up and asked what happened apologized and was like no it will be quick come to a “special lunch”. And last diarrhea, headache, chills fever ended my trip with a case salmonella poisoning. I would say not the best experience in my 3 night stay.

The place itself was clean and tidy. The ocean was right outside, but a lot of seaweed. The drinks were ok. The one issue we had was the food. The food was extremely mediocre and made us sick. Also, half of the property is closed off to people that aren’t premium members which we felt was disappointing.

Check in was easy and simple, our rooms were clean. Majority of the staff were very kind and helpful. Some of them were dismissive due to Language barrier. Resort was safe, staff made sure they knew when we left and came back safely every-time. Food was good they had a lot of variety. None of the food made me sick or have any issues. The drinks were good but not strong they were most likely watered down but I still felt it a good amount of the time. Overall a great stay I would recommend, even staging on the family side it wasn’t too much kids they didn’t make a difference.

The resort needs a better selection in food, especially for breakfast. The buffet service was horrible, one time we were waiting for utensils for 10 minutes. The beach was great, that's the reason i am going to this resort. In the theater the screen was broken for a year and yhey don't even trying to fix it. Also it would be better if the pools had light at night. I booked my flight back with Arajet for match 3rd, and they changed it for march 1st without even notifying me. And Expedia sent me message reminder for check in, when i logged in to Arajet website i discovered that it was changed, i never had such stupid situation with American airlines. DO NOT BOOK WITH ARAJET. EXPEDIA FAILED NOTIFYING ME. I CALLED EXPEDIA AND THEY SAID OH WELL, YOU NEED A NEW TICKET, SO I HAD TO buy new ticket , this timei bought united airline. RIDICULOUS SERVICE, EXPEDIA!!!!

We were in building number 2 with a swim out on the first floor. We could barely see the pool due to the bushes, however it provided some privacy. The two pools were a good side. one had activities, a bar, and the kids area, and music. This was the better pool. The room was cleaned okay. They don’t change your sheets, only tidy them, even if they are visibly dirty. It was frustrating to us as they keep the door open during housekeeping which turns off the air and lots of bugs came in. I read several reviews of the staff being rude prior to going, and unfortunately I can confirm they are rude, inattentive, and if you need something it seems as though you’re a bother. Not once did we have service at the buffet, no one offered to fill drinks or get coffee for breakfast. We had to get our own drinks. When asking for mimosas, they said no. The staff acted as if we were invisible. If we actually got service and asked for a drink, it was forgotten about. I’ve never experienced this at any other Dominican resort. If you weren’t at the pool by 7:30am, you won’t get a chair at either pool. We had to put towels on the ground and sit down. Not one staff approached us while at the pool to get drinks. The magic show and circus show were good. The drinks made by Eddison at the pool bar were great, he was a sweetheart. I don’t think I would come back. I would rather get better service and go to a resort that is slightly pricier.

This hotel needs to be closed for renovations. It is falling apart. Doors to the room barely holding shut, handicapped bathroom door completely busted and will not close. Pool has coudy water. Food was terrible and getting worse by the day. Steak at \"The Cut\" dinner was like rubber, deserts like a silicone. Handrails on some stairs falling down and unsafe.Beach was not cleaned and full of seaweed. Property next door was cleaning beach fine, not this one. Liked coffee shop though. This hotel if far from 5 star, closer to 2.5.

I’ll start by saying the food was below average and made me and my boyfriend’s stomachs upset the whole trip. Good thing our room had 2 bathrooms. Secondly we got harassed every single day to eat their “premium” breakfast so they could pitch us a time share. They also walked around the resort trying to get people to buy their excursions. Every day multiple times a day we were pulled to the side to try to be sold on something. It was NOT relaxing at all. Next the beds were super hard and I woke up with a backache every day. The staff acted like they did not want to help us at all. There were very few helpful and hospitable staff members. The service at every restaurant sucked and we barely got silverware or drinks even given to us at the buffet. The only saving grace at this resort was the Olivo restaurant. The server was awesome and the food was good. Also, the drinks were extremely inconsistent. We would have good drinks at one restaurant one day and the next day they were disgusting. I would definitely not recommend this resort to anyone unfortunately. The location was good but the overall experience was disappointing for all the money that was spent. On one more note, if you do anything outside of the resort an are transported by a company, be prepared that the staff drive crazy and at multiple points in each ride, I was scared we would get into an accident. And we had 3 different drivers so it is not one specific driver that was the issue, that is just how they drive here

We had an issue with our room initially air-conditioning was broken. They moved this to us a bad room that we complained. Then they move this to a better one bad thing is when we had dinner at hibachi I found a rodent running across of the hibachi that was not good. I killed it, but no one saw it.

The entertainment crew was top notch. Nutella, Maria, mairobi, Beyoncé…. Incredible and fun and made our stay extra special!!!! The beach in front of the adults only side was fantastic. The food could use some work but you don’t go away for gormet food. You go to relax and have the best time. Would recommend this place for a workaholic that needs to unwind.

This resort rates highly on Expedia but this was not our experience.
1st day we spent most of the day trying to get our air conditioning sorted in the room. Three maintenance men came and left promising to return. Finally at 11pm we were moved to another room. This room was okay, had a poolside view from the 4th storey.
The following day the Buffet was flooded and out of commission until our last day.
Food was plain, okay but not luxury in any way, à la carte restaurants were basic but good though. The sushi I would go as far to say was excellent!
Drinks were good, all bars good as would be hoped for. This may be the saving grace for the party crowd.
The beach is very nice with a huge sand bar that extents out into the ocean, great for snorkeling and paddling around. Numerous fish including stingrays so I would advise beach shoes in the water.
The pools had good days and bad days. Having had experience in swimming pool maintenance I can see pools that are struggling to maintain a safe level of chlorine. Murky water and the smell of chlorine means free chlorine is not available to deal with contamination. We also witnessed a man vomiting in the pool which cleared us out to the beach… not nice. Also didn’t observe any immediate action to deal with this contamination. I do understand it is difficult to deal with suntan lotion, urine, drinks, body fats etc but swimming pools should sparkle to be inviting to swimmers.
Resort also has a building site down one side.

It was my second time visiting this resort, the first time visiting with my entire family. The staff is really responsive when anything is needed for the room, we used the app to request more towels and they were delivered quickly. I made all of our a la carte reservations with the front desk, from most to least preferred we tried: sushi, teppanyaki, steak, Peruvian, and Italian. We did the buffet our first night and we all ate well. The room service menu is limited and not geared toward kids. Our kids are 8 and 6, they found preferences at restaurants and buffets: gyoza, deep fried ice cream, fries, nacho chips, chicken nuggets, hot dogs. They were very disappointed by the cheese pizza, and I heard adults were disappointed by the pizza in the Italian restaurant. One thing I would change is being able to order food pool side for kids who are far too excited about the water slides, you cannot take food out of the buffet or sports bar. We didn't try the food truck as there was always a considerable line. The pool bars and staff there are great, they have non-alcoholic piña coladas which our kids really enjoyed. The beach was awesome, it's very shallow for a ways so you can walk around with kids and admire the fish. There are many pelicans around scoping out the fish which is entertaining too. Our kids only did a couple of kids club activities. Overall we had a great time!

Resort is close to the airport. It is smaller which makes getting around easy. The buffet food was subpar, just nothing great. Fruit was tasteless, not a lot of options, same thing daily. The restaurants were very good (you have to make reservations). The rooms were adequate and stocked daily with drinks (no snacks). There were not a lot of daily activities available. The evening show was very good but there is a large screen in the background that was broken and pixelated so it really threw off the vibe. The staff was nice but didn’t go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I travelled solo and felt safe. Amenities were average. I think this place is cute but they could do so much better!

This was our second time at this resort the first time it was incredible AMAZING! That’s why we decided to come back but this time it was awful, buffet food was always the same, the burger truck in the beach had a really big line and unfortunately with kids we had to wait over 30 minutes instead of “enjoying” our stay. He looked overwhelmed and mad he should’ve had support, ice cream lady very rude, front desk very rude, they ran out of kids bracelets which didn’t allow my kids to eat until they had more ridiculous they should’ve anticipated all tourist days and be prepared. No towels for the pool and again with kids it’s a need much needed. If they know they will be almost sold out why not be prepared? Everyone was very rude at this resort this time and I do expect someone to contact me to make our family vacation up for their mess. I don’t know if they changed managements owners I don’t know but I talked to several other tourists and had the same opinion but since our vacations were already planned there was nothing to do. Communicating with the staff regarding issues they would just reply with an attitude of how they were fully booked. Well not my problem they should’ve prepared with more staff. Not going back.

The room was wonderful. We were upgraded to a suite and had so much space. The drinks were great and the food was better than I anticipated after reading some of the other reviews. Service was good too. I felt like everyone really put in the effort.
My only ick was the timeshare guys set up by the coffee shop. They did take no, but I still had to explain myself, which is exhausting first thing in the morning when I just want coffee.

I rarely give reviews regarding hotels during a vacation but this one was an exemption.

First, we booked for four people with payment due at check-in. When we arrived, the hotel clearly knew only three guests were staying, yet still charged us with the full rate for four. Since payment was made at check-in, we expected the rate to reflect actual occupancy. No adjustment was offered.

The staff at the check in said we still have to pay for the whole amount and reach out to Expedia to get a refund for that one person. Throughout the stay, i had to go back and forth with them.
This feels like deliberate overcharging.

Second, our room had a leak, and we couldn’t even reach guest services for assistance. And when we did, the problem wasn’t handled until the next day. The delay in response left us dealing with the issue overnight, which affected our comfort. Went out for an excursion, management said they will fix the leak, came back to the hotel, ceiling was still leaking.

Thirds, food was extremely disappointing. Bland, repetitive, and far below what you expect from
an all-inclusive resort.

What made everything worse was the indifference from staff. There was no urgency, and no genuine effort to resolve issues.

Between the billing issue, maintenance problems, poor food, and lack of service, check out other hotels for better options.

Mis vacaciónes fueron exactamente como lo imaginé una estadía placentera solo tuvimos 3 inconvenientes
1- La suite tenía algunos detalles de mantenimiento en el jacuzzi no lo pudimos era unos de mis puntos de necesidad ya que tengo problemas de espalda estaba en muy malas condiciones.
2- el segundo día de la llegada te invitan a un almuerzo y es para hacerte una promoción de venta hotelera esto nos tomó todo el día pierdes la mañana por estar a tu invitación y ayi te atrapan por 4 horas más
3-Los restaurantes tienen su programa de reserva si no lo haces con mucho tiempo de anticipo terminas comiendo en el buffet que estuvo decente su comida pero su menú no varía mucho así que terminas cansado de repetir lo mismo
El personal fue atento amable respetuoso y si lo recomiendo pero siempre y cuando lo mejoren en los puntos mencionados

My husband and I just returned from our trip to Serenade and we experienced several red flags.

First - watch out for the “xpand” sales reps. They pose as concierges and invite you to breakfast and then drag you into a sales pitch. Ours lasted 4 hours, on my birthday. The sales people are very aggressive. I ended up having to get upset in order to end the meeting. It was very high pressure & they asked us to deposit over $10,000 to join this club and sent three different sales people - very, very aggressive and pushy. I told them several times it was my birthday and we were not interested and they would not take no for an answer - it was really unprofessional and we were so taken back by it. We spoke to other couples on the resort that had the same experience. Google reviews on this for the resort & educate yourself before you go.

Second, we got stuck in our elevator & nobody seemed to care - no maintenance done after we reported it that we saw. We ended up walking four flights of stairs everytime we went to our room after that.

Third, the toilet in our room was very stained and gross - thankfully we had two bathrooms because that one wasn’t useable.

Four, not really the resorts fault, but lots of seaweed.

Overall, I would probably seek out another hotel.

Experience bad service. They only stack you with one toilet paper roll apparently is supposed to last two days for a family of five with a junior suite. Workers are very unhappy, not friendly and never happy to help with any request. Started from the Front desk from the check-in. They should all go for training. Front desk is the face of the resort. I also saw roaches walking around the food. The more i write the more i get disappointed. Waste of money!!!

The food at this resort is absolutely abhorrent. Not a single thing was as described and they essentially fed us baby food. Eating was only for sustenance. When it came to the drinks, every single time the same drink was ordered it was completely different. Te entire place clearly has a training and communication issue. None of the rules regarding separate adult only areas and people leaving towels on the beach were ignored. I am actually angry i spent any money on this place and I believe it should be removed from Expedia. This was a waste of money.

The problem was the housekeeping and the room. We paid to upgrade our room to a swim up suite but could never use it because the room next to us had at least 15 people in it. Tried to tell the staff but no one ever answered (the entire time there) the front desk phone.

Staff was great and the property amenities were wonderful for kids which is why we booked it. The food was 2/10. We were there for 5 days and couldn’t book a single reservation to any of the property restaurants and no one cared at all. We walked up and the whole restaurant was empty but they wouldn’t take us 3 with our hungry 6 year old. We had to eat at the mediocre buffet all 5 days which really ruined the “all inclusivity” for us. We also had a lot of issues with our room the first night - AC was broken, had no sheets for pullout bed that we initially booked a two queen bed, not one king and a pullout, no towels or washcloths. It was a mess at first but as far as things outside, it was a nice stay.

Staff wasn't the friendliest. There were a few nice people there but overall most were unfriendly. It was a huge undertaking just to get bottled water in the room and we were told at the lobby bar that bottled water was for vip members only. Be sure to tell them that you want alcohol in your drinks if that's what you want because a lot of them will not give you alcohol. Coffee was oustanding but again almost impossible to get in room. Absolutely do not do the Expand meeting the day after you get there unless you want high pressure salesman trying to push you into spending $26,000 and then getting obnoxious and rude when you tell them that you're not interested. Nice beach and facilities but too many negatives to ever consider going back to Serenade. Forgot to include the food. It was mediocre but the chocolates/fruit and bread were good

Although I got there at 9:30pm, my room still wasn't ready. When I was finally assigned a room, someone else was inside when I opened the door. For my 2nd room; the A/C didn't work, the room had a lot of flies/mosquitos and it was next to a noisy construction site. My 3rd room was meh and security had to search my room because the person before me claimed they left/lost something.

The customer service was terrible. No one welcomed me or tried to accommodate me after all of the inconveniences. They also seemed to have a hard time understanding English.

I had to swim in the ocean at a different resort for cleaner water.

Room service does not answer, first is absolutely TERRIBLE there, they force a timeshare on you without allowing you to relax, the service amongst staff is horrible, they sit you at dirty tables and you have to wait for them to clean them, they do not tend to anything you need in timely manner, buffet is limited to crappy food. The restaurants serve trash food, the hibachi was the only decent thing there. Massages are EXTREMELY over priced. House keeping stole $200 from our room and nothing was dine about it. I highly suggest no-one goes there. Go to mexico instead!

Omg where do I start from the time I walked in the hospitality was almost Nicole met us at the door with drinks the check in was great also it was super busy we went to dinner the first night and I must say the food was so good everything was hot and fresh our room was clean and are mini fridge was stock with everything we needed they did come around everyday to stock are mini bar they cleaned are rein everyday also they had so much do to they start at 10am at the pool with entertainment they have something going on all day we did a silent party and that was so fun I will be back next month for a week I had so much fun

This hotel is at best a 2-3 star regarding food.
They service food that has mold on it, there's not many options. The sports bar and the food truck take forever to get food and it's very good. The fries are good at the food truck if you get them fresh. The burgers are cooked all the way thru.
The pools, they were good, good water area for kids.
The staff, rude, non responsive and only care about tips.
The room, nice visually, but there is mold on the vents, the bathroom and shower taps are rusted.
The exterior needs to be cleaned.
Entertainment, zero entertainment at the pools and not much at night. People just hang out in lobby.

Would I ever return to this hotel, no, not unless they stepped up their food quality and options.

The food was terrible, even in the specialty restaurants.
Housekeeping cleaned the room and didn't leave clean towels.
My friend fell down the stairs and went to the hospital. No one from the hotel inquired to how she was the next day.
Also, we need bandages for her and the clinic had only 2 Band-Aids! I asked at the front desk and they couldn't help either.
The all-inclusive liquor was terrible.
The people on the beach constantly interrupting to sell us something, and the talking very loudly and screaming and laughing. NOT RELAXING!
I will not recommend this resort.

Do not book if you want good food. Everyone I spoke with at the hotel said the food was HORRIBLE. We paid for the preferred room and ended up dealing with a Jacuzzi that would not cut off. There was water in our room and all the way to the bathroom from maintenance running with buckets of water to the shower. They left the room at 2am to tell us they would be back in the morning. We left and went to Hard Rock. Had a wonderful time there with great food, room and people. We returned to our room 2 days later for the jacuzzi to still not be fixed.

The pool did not have enough chairs every day. We had to wait for people to leave to then take their chairs and no staff ever helped to bring out more chairs if needed. Pool staff never came by to get drink orders. Some lunch areas wouldn’t let you order French fries for our toddler. You were told you had to sit inside one day then the next you had to sit out side just to order French fries. Beach had no service.

We paid for VIP/Preferred. Check in was horrible. No info given about what we get extra and where things were and room was incorrect. Upgraded mini bar was 2 extra small beers. Even with preferred the alcohol selection isn’t premium. You have to pay cash for those. Tito’s wasn’t even available without paying. Premium vodka was Stolli’s.

Staff is what made my entire trip a great time!! 4/5 stars because you have to have an acquired taste for resort food, in order to enjoy the buffet and restaurant options. The Cut Steak House - was the best place for grilled meat. They don't have many options for people who are allergic to nuts & sesame. 1/6 days was great at the buffett. Other days were okay but not many good options. Reserve the restaurants on the app 24 hours before or you will eat at the buffet. The room was good overall, a little weathered down and close to dingy towels. The housemaids/men were very loud near our door early morning, we couldn’t sleep in. Be prepared to fight for a lawn chair at the pool & beach. By 8am every chair was taken. It wasn’t busy at the resort until the end of my trip but still not enough chairs for everyone to enjoy the pools/beach. Beach was amazing & clean crystal clear water. If it wasn’t for Pedro at the buffet. I would have given a 4/5 stars. Bring a speaker to the beach!!! The resort itself is very beautiful, live with events, and extra special offers for upgrades. Support the vendors at the beach selling goods, they were wonderful as well. Tony for cigars, Wilson for Jewelry, and Wilkson for fun excursions.
