This is the absolute gem of a place. All the major attractions are within 15-20 minutes walking distance. Their staff is so nice and caring. They also clean your room everyday. I would love to recommend this place to everyone. Worth your money.

The best part of the hotel is the sweet staff who took such great care of us. They provided everything we needed and were so kind (even when I took a fall and scraped up my leg) they help me clean and bandage it! The breakfast was good and the bed comfortable. The only concern was we stayed in the “basic room” and it was extremely small. So small there was no where to put your luggage.

The hotel is conveniently located walking distance to everything! They provided to-go breakfasts when we left to catch our early morning flight. I would absolutely stay there again!

This tiny hole in the wall hotel, is the cutest place on earth. I’ve travelled a lot and never have seen a small hotel like this that has everything you need. The breakfast was also great. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. It was 5 of us travelling and we would love to come back again

A great hotel, located in the best spot for seeing ancient ruins and accessing shopping and dining options! The room was extremely comfortable, and the front desk was 24/7 which turned out to be super helpful since our flight got delayed! Just make sure to select the right address if traveling by Uber, don't type home sweet home or you'll end up in the Greek countryside.

What a charming little gem this hotel is!「Sweet Home」 really lives up to its name . The cosy atmosphere wraps around like a warm hug, making one feel ease at home. Albeit a bit small, however, every corner exudes character and charm, from the inviting décor to the friendly staff who treat you like family. I was particularly impressed by the hospitality that stem from their heart; we arrived at the hotel at a very late hour, and were not too hopeful for a decent meal. Realizing our need, the staff took the initiative to lead us to an exquisite Restaurant where we had a very satisfying dinner , for which we are most grateful. All in all, from the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout our stay, their genuine kindness and helpfulness created a homey atmosphere. They went all the way to ensure I had everything I need, offering local tips and recommendations that enhanced my touring experience. It’s rare to find such a dedicated team, and their commitment to guest satisfaction is truly commendable. I left feeling valued and appreciated.

What a cute little stay! Great breakfast, the hosts were very friendly, bed was comfy, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, fridge, kettle all included. The cool gramophone room, the free umbrella use, the free cappuccino were all great little added touches. Close to everything. Thank you for the Birthday bottle of wine! The loud construction works over the road at 07:45am on Saturday and Sunday weren't ideal but that was no fault of the hotel. The room could have been bigger but you don't come to Athens to sit in your room all day!

Everything is noisy, if you step on the floor you hear the parquet, bathroom door makes noise, if someone else flushes the toilet in their room or walks or closes the door you could hear it like in your room, AC is very loud and not working very well (don’t try opening the window instead, noise gets even louder!).
After all the sleepless nights, we woke up in the morning to checkout and leave to the airport, only to find out that the safe in the hotel room that has our passports in it is not opening whatsoever!! And no we weren’t putting the wrong code, they made us wait for the employee to come because he supposedly knows the override code. But then we discover that the safe battery is low that’s why they cannot open it even with an override code and guess what! They couldn’t find the key for the safe, they lost it! They kept us waiting and running late to our flight for an hour and half till they finally fixed it. We went running to the airport not knowing if we can make it to our flight or not. Honestly the way they handled the situation was sooo unprofessional, just imagine they lost the key!

Sweet Home is absolutely charming…excellent location, walkable to dining, shopping, and all the historical sites. Rooms were clean and had so much personality! We loved our little balcony and the bathroom was well appointed. Staff was so welcoming and the breakfast was amazing! There is a bit of construction going on next to the hotel that started about 8 am, but we are early risers so it didn’t bother us. We will definitely stay here again, it’s a hidden gem!!

The Sweet Home Hotel is charming in it's decor, and the staff were all warm and friendly. They each let us know in some way of their commitment to supporting our visit to Athens. Our only little complaint is that our room, though lovely (and bed comfortable) was very small leaving little room to put our suitcases and stuff -- also no comfortable seating (I am finding this a trend in newer boutique hotels)...no place to sit but the bed.

Booked hotel and was told reservation was lost by Hotels.com but when we reached out to Hotels.com they still had us confirmed at Sweet Home Athens and were unaware of any issues. When we checked in we were moved to a different hotel with no prior communication to ensure we were okay with the change. Hotel was fine but not where we would have stayed given choice and rooms were less expensive than original reservation which Sweet Home kept and we were not able to recoup the difference in cost. Also told daily tax was paid and it was not at check out. Would never book international room again on Hotels.com.

We came to Greece for our 45th anniversary. The hotel was recommended to us by a travel agent. It is in the Plaka area in Athens. It’s where u want to stay. The hotel is run by 2 sisters, Afroditi and Alexis. Their mother is one of the 2 women that cook and provide the most delicious fabulous breakfasts. I have to say we did have an issue with our first room. But due to that I got to know these 2 sisters in a way I would not have. They were fabulous and they made our stay more memorable. Traveling to me is more about the people I meet than even the sights we see. You will love staying at this hotel.

We paid extra for a room with a balcony with a city view, and we were given a balcony no bigger than a couch cushion with 1 chair completely walled in. There was no view of anything at all. Other than that, the bed was comfortable, the staff was incredibly kind, the breakfast was wonderful, and the location is conveniently located about 12 minutes from 2 different metro stations.

To say my wife and I enjoyed our stay here would be a huge understatement. If anything bad is to be said, the room was a bit small. However, that would not deter me from staying at this hotel EVERY visit I make to Athens. It is only a 10 minute walk to everything we wanted to see in Athens. And Aphrodite and her mom (who prepares the best breakfast) made this experience for us so special. They were helpful in making reservations for dinner, ordering taxis, etc. like most hotels will. But when I complimented her banana chocolate bread at breakfast, we returned to our room that afternoon with one in our room. When I complimented their almond liquor, we were given a small sample to take home at check-out. That is the kind of service you will not find in a large hotel. Needless to say, I highly recommend this hotel and its staff!
