The reason for 3 star rating is the room size and floor cleanliness. No complaint with any other aspect of the hotel.
Room was a quite small and constrictive, particularly for leisure travellers on a week's stay. Room also looked tired, with patched up carpets, disconnected air purifier, and average quality air conditioning.
Aged carpets seemed to produce dust during day time.
Lack of English labels and descriptions on AC control was disappointing.
Clearly a hotel for business or corporate travellers on a 1 or 2 nights stay.
I fault Expedia for not checking the purpose of stay and produce suggestions with appropriate hotels. Expedia also gives very limited choices when it comes to rooms and amenities. Room size is also an an important feature and therefore an amenity!

The property is a bit dated. The hotel tries to make up for it with an array of consumables. The walk from the Hakata train station was okay. Have to get past just one traffic intersection. If you’re not spending too much time in the hotel, this is value for money.

This hotel is very old and dated. Maintenance is very much needed here. I was surprised to find dust on the tv console and the carpet wasn’t that clean upon my check in. I requested for housekeeping the next day but found everything the same just the bed was made and towels replaced. I had to wash the toilet as the stench of urine lingered. One thing that’s excellent is the front desk staffs, they were very friendly and helpful and try to understand my queries despite the language barrier.

Location and staff was wonderful. The room was very small, both of us couldn’t leave our suitcases open. bathroom was small and stuffy without proper ventilation. Room was hot so they delivered a fan and the window was able to open a crack that made it bearable.

Check in was simple and straight forward. Our stay was made very pleasant by the superb staff. Their courteous and helpful attitudes were excellent. When we mislaid an USB flash drive just before we checked out, they made a thorough check of our room and then shortly afterwards, by then we had travelled to another city, they emailed us to say it had not been found. At that stage, with some embarrassment, when we were unpacking we found it had been caught up in some clothing and so was hidden in our luggage.
Our room was very good with very comfortable beds and all facilities worked well.
We will be staying there again.

Excellent experience from start to end. Checking in was a breeze. Staff speaks good english by Japanese standard. We had arrived way early (travelled from Kumamoto to Hakata, making arrival time abit difficult to gauge). Hotel had allowed an early check-in & complimentary breakfast for us; this was a very pleasant surprise - we greatly appreciate their gesture. Hotel housekeeping also helped cleaned our room even though we had opted out for one of the days. Breakfast was a good spread of international & Japanese food. The front manager at the restaurant converses well in english too and was very professional. We had checked about taxi-transfer to airport on our last day. The lady at bell-captain counter made efforts to share info with us and helped make notes of our need (date/time of departure via taxi) and her colleague on duty on the day of our departure readily kept a lookout for the arriving taxis (2 vehicles) helped us with the luggage and greeted us goodbye. The hotel is within short walk from JR Hakata station. There are restaurants, convenience stores along the way and outside the hotel.

On the whole the staffs were great in hospitality! We are always greeted with a sincere smile. A very pleasant and homely feel to the entire experience. We will certainly love to visit this hotel again in our next visit.Thank you! ANA Crowne Fukuoka.

Only positive point was the location by the Hakata train and subway station that takes you to the airport in a few minutes. Other than that, just average low for the price and no amenities. If you want to use the exercise room or the swimming pool you have to pay extra, while other hotels give you that and much more for no extra charge. Poor light fixtures on the room and dark. There are better hotels in the area for this price or less.

perfect location for people travel in Hakata station, follow west exit then turn left when you come out on the street, keep walking for about 7 minutes, hotel is on the right hand side cross street, bus terminal is on the first floor level of Hakata station, stop 11 for Fukuoka airport, 500 Yen per person, will take you to Domestic terminal, free shuttle bus if your destination flight is at International airport.

Small room despite being a twin room, your usual Japanese standards... Compact, clean, but conditions rather worn and tired. Not cool that they charge JPY1000 per use of hotel pool, at the room rates they’re charging it should come free for paying hotel guests...??? Staffs at lobby always smiling and welcoming. Near JR Hakata station, convenient and easy to commute. If you’re the walking sort, can even walk to Tenjin and back while enjoying the street sights.

Closed to the Hakata station if you are not having a car in the area. Walking distance to Canal City and Hakata Ward (中洲), especially just within 5mins walking to Hakata station.

Room size is a bit larger than the usual 3/4-stars hotel in Japan. Smooth check-in and check-out. The bed is clean (not the whole room).

Old decoration and maybe time for renovation sooner or later. Carpet floor seems a bit dirty. Staff came into the room to fix with shoes walking around. The bed alarm and phone with dust.

Overall is fit for business and budget travelers. Consider the transportation cost & location. For family traveler, better check the rate and still recommended if in good deal.

Hotel is in a nice quiet location yet near Hakata stn . Rooms are considered quite big and clean however the hotel has seen better days. Time to refurbish! Staff were service oriented especially Wada San who helped us patiently. The foreign staff (Filipino) can do better!

Best thing about this hotel was the fitness facility, included with stay. That’s hard to find in a mid-priced hotel in Japan. It’s 5 min from the train station, and minutes away from restaurants, bars and temples.
Fukuoka itself isn’t worth a tourist visit.

A little worn, and smells too much of smoke!

Despite arranging for a non-smoking room we were put in two to clean up smoking rooms. The place stunk. The hotel staff told us this was the only option. In addition the Wi-Fi was sketchy at best. This is not the place to rest your head on a business trip. And in addition looking at the hotel as a whole, it needs a few upgrades. The rugs are definitely shopworn and could be replaced. Also the room was a little shabby in appearance. Could hav been because it was a smoking room!!!!

I am very frustrated and unsatisfied because I was assigned to a twin bed room. I made a reservation to this hotel because the king/queen size bedroom was available when I booked. If the king/queen was not available, don't even try to scam customers into thinking these are available and actually that's the room I am booking. It was very uncomfortable crazy trip and very very very unsatisfied!!!!!!!

Front desk,bell and housekeeping staff very well trained and manner, very helpful and supportive. HOWEVER, the hotel room was filthy I didn't realize it until the last day wondering why I would wake up with itchy eyes and stuffy nose etc. so I wipe the room down with a wet towel and to my amazement the towel turn grayish black, small wonder since everyday we would come back to room the clock would be cover with dust. Its house dust but also sooth from the outside air I could imagine how bad it was under the bed. You would think with the name ANA Crown Plaza and the price I paid everything would be superb ....wrong. Please check the room out before unloading your luggage etc. even running your fingers on shelves and desk and light fixtures will give you a idea.

Don't TRUST what you see in picture when u book!!!

The check-in was not good as I booked for deluxe room and non-smoking room and the picture I received from hotels.com for confirmation was not the same room I got, the hotel gave me a standard room which was much smaller than the picture and it wasn't a non-smoking room but I made my booking 4 months in advance. The hotel said that it was a misunderstanding on the picture shown in my confirmation and the price that I paid for but I told them that either hotels.com or the hotel itself made a mistake in providing me with the wrong picture on my confirmation and it was a misrepresentation on either part. Then the hotel said they could offer me one night non-smoking for standard room and the 2nd night smoking room as the hotel was fully booked up. I insisted to have non-smoking room for both nights and I told them that was the whole purpose of booking well in advance and why can't they let other guests who stayed for more nights to have one night smoking room and the rest non-smoking instead of forgoing my rights which I'm sure that I booked well ahead of many others just because I only stayed 2 nights doesn't mean I had to stay in smoking room. I asked for the manager to talk to me and after back and forth for almost an hour, the manager dealt with it professionally and he could find me a non-smoking room for the delux room in hotels.com email confirmation (which should have been an upgraded twin room) at the price quoted and 2nd night for same room at rack rate

This was my second stay at the ANA Crowne Plaza Fukuoka and the service levels, friendliness of staff, and general experience was fantastic this time just as it was the first time. Will definitely return on my next visit to Fukuoka should rooms be available.

아이들 동반 가족여행으로 4인실,역과의 접근성을 우선으로 고려했습니다.도보5분 하카타역이 있어 이동에 편리했으며 클럽룸으로 넓고 쾌적하긴 했으나 욕실에 곰팡이는 심각한 상태입니다.
클럽라운지 조직은 심플했고 씨리얼이 없어 아이들이 아쉬워 했습니다.전체적으로 직원서비스도 좋아 만족했으며 욕실 청결에 조금더 신경써 주시면 좋을것같아요.
