Very comfortable hotel, except for the noise at night.
Even in the highest floor I could hear cars, honks, sirens, etc until past midnight. I was in the busy street side, but there is the pool side that should be more quiet.

Home away from home

From the very early check in to the very late check out, the staff at Macka Palas was outstanding. I was celebrating my 50th with my closest friends and we had a blast. The staff was always so helpful, efficient, caring and had a mating attention to detail. I can only recommend this hotel, it really feels like home away from home.

Excellent location with the best shopping/restaurants. Food on-site was very good including room service. One of the very few hotels on Expedia that recognized me as a VIP and gave the most amazing amenities in our room plus a beautiful upgrade!

The best part of this hotel is the staff! All are fantastic, and each gave truly memorable moments and made our stay so enjoyable. From Sema hanim in housekeeping who found my daughter's beloved stuffed animal in the laundry when we thought it was gone forever, to Enser bey in the front who assisted us with luggage and was so endearing with my daughter practicing Chinese with her (xiexie!), to the sweetest front desk Kivanc bey and his amazing and gentle demeanor with my daughter, as well as Anas bey who was one of the main reasons we extended our stay by 4 nights (Thank you to our superstar, Anas bey!) to Ibrahim bey at the front desk always with a smile for us, to Necla hanim at breakfast who made us feel like royalty with her attention and smile, to Umut bey in room service who went above & beyond to help, to Ilayada hanim who booked our hair appointments with a smile, to one of the stand-out staff members of our entire stay (I wrote it down but cannot find now! It started with an \"S\" - maybe Senol bey?) who not only booked us on short notice at restaurants he also made an amazing recommendation for the best lahmacun we've ever had in Istanbul (at Mahir!)

We had an incredible experience at this hotel, from the check in process with Ibrahim throughout our entire stay. We received excellent service from everyone who worked at this hotel. The breakfast was wonderful and all staff there were kind, professional and extremely attentive. Our wait staff consisted of Kebru, Kadir and Necla all of whom provided us with best in class service. Our room was perfect, gorgeous and large with high ornate ceilings with a sleek bathroom that also had a steam room and an amazing open shower concept. Our room attendant, Serpil, made sure our room was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The spa and gym have been completely renovated and are extremely nice. We would highly recommend this hotel for all of these reasons as well as its location, which is ideal for great shopping, restaurants and really convenient for walking.

Not a 5 star hotel

Sadly this hotel was very disappointing. The entrance is underwhelming, not what you would expect from a 5 star property. We were upgraded due to my status at hotels.com but even then the room was awful! It was a deluxe room, with a view of an ugly building. The room is very large but the space has not been used effectively. The TV is large but placed in an awkward position so we struggled to connect our fire stick as there were no sockets nearby. The first impression is drab, dreary and messy. All the paintings on the wall were wonky. The curtains looked old and messy and the bathroom is ugly. The floor tiles look like horrible old tiles you see in very basic public toilets in parks. The shower and bath were also ugly and cold, they have this plastic looking wall that separates the room and bathroom which is just hideous. The mattress was so uncomfortable that I slept on the chair and the toilet is far too low and a very weird shape which was uncomfortable. I had just had surgery so the comfort of the room was very important and this hotel does not provide that. The entrance to the breakfast area is unwelcoming and dated, as if you are walking into a school canteen and the breakfast selection was poor. This is not a luxury hotel, I would rate it 4 star maximum. Whoever designed it has not gone for the luxury look. I would not stay here again. I have to say that the staff were all amazing. Only issue was nobody came to help with our bags, even after we called them.

Wonderful and well maintained clean and beautifully designed property near the social and restaurant filled Taksim area. Safe. Easy access and all parts of the hotel and friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast area is lovely with nice views and quality breakfast offerings. Room was spacious, with nice cabinetry, adequate supplies of bottled water and a wonderful special sink with potable water. Decent speed WiFi also.

The only unique thing was the breakfast area which is the dinning place for the famous Nosret restaurant. The room was small with very old antique furniture, and the view was very bad, overlooking a very old and ugly building (not what was promised). The SPA is also very small with poor facilities. On the other hand the staff were very nice and the location is good on Nashentashe.

From the moment of entering hotel, a wonderful friendly welcome by reception, concierge. Upgraded room with a beautiful room with jacuzzi and steam room.
Restaurant staff so friendly with second to none great service with delicious food.
When leaving hotel reception were so helpful and organised, no issue or fuss made , totally professional staff throughout the hotel. Will be going back next year

My husband, myself and daughter stayed at this hotel from 3rd August - 9th August. On the 8th, which was our 6th night at the hotel, I entered the hotel alone (family had arrived before me and gone up to our room after our excursion of the day) and was confronted by a security guard who rudely interrogated me. He insisted I prove that I have a room in the hotel, whilst making a spectacle for many other hotel guests standing nearby to see, and questioned why I had used the lobby toilet if I indeed had a room in the hotel. This line of inquiry was incredibly humiliating for me, I have never been spoken to in such an aggressive and condescending manner. Though I provided details of my room and husband's name, the guard refused to believe me and threatened to escort me out of the hotel unless I produced my room key, something he should have asked for initially but instead subjected me to an embarrassing series of questions first. Upon presentation of the room key, he left without an apology. After the incident, I went and spoke to the reception who airily informed me this was their hotel policy. All in all, I would never opt to stay in a hotel where staff are at liberty to treat their paying guests in such a poor manner. One of the worst experiences of my life.

Had an amazing experience at this hotel and would definitely come back. Was really pleased with the service of the hotel especially the bellboy in front of hotel who was really attentive to details and noticed I had paid a bit too much for taxi from the hotel (obviously got ripped off) and even offered to speak to the drive for me. Room was really clean, spacious, and shower room even had steam in it... really enjoyed my stay.

Windows could not keep the noise, wooden floors therefore you hear every movement from top floor, most of the employees don't speak English, towels were extremely old I had to ask them to change them, first 5 star that does put daily complaintry mineral water nor fruits for arrival.
Over all I would never go again

Bad choice of hotel, right area.

For room with a check in time of 2 pm we were told room was not ready at 3:30 pm and that it would take another hour! We got the room at 5 pm and we were offered a cup of coffee as compensation! And the attitude was standard Turkish- arrogant!!!

The hotel is excellent condition and location, the staff are well trained they will help you with anything you need specialty the guys at the front door and the help desk every time we taking a taxi or uber they will talk to the driver before we get in the vehicle to make sure we are safe and going to the right place.

My problem with my booking was with Expedia I requested a room for two adults and two kids 4 and 7 and Expedia booked me a room with one king bed for four people and I get no where with Expedia to correct the problem
The hotel provided us a small camping bed and my wife and the two kids slept in one bed the hotel manager did the best she can do and apologize for the problem this will be last time I will ever use Expedia thank you and good by Expedia.
