We chose the room because it was spacious but the double bed was uncomfortably firm and the paint work was in poor condition.The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall. I'm only griping because it was very expensive! The stay overall was ok and Paihia and Cape Reinga were fab. The people running it were very friendly.

I stayed in room #309. Very large with a wrap around balcony, with a glimpse of the bay. It was very nice and clean. The only negative is the bed coverings need a wash. (Not sheets) The room smelled very musty. Other than that I would highly recommend the hotel. Friendly staff too!

As it is not marked properly, there was none available at night when coming back, so had to park off the street. When calling in the morning to reception nobody answered.

This is an older hotel but if you’re planning to stay out most of the day it is perfect! It was clean and the staff was SUPER friendly—honestly my favorite part of our stay there. Everything is within walking distance of the hotel but I felt it was far enough away to get some peace and quiet.

We really had a bad experience. In reality it’s not what you see on Expedia. The spa wasn’t working, the swimming is full of leaves and dirt in the water. The bathroom outlet seems blocked and water was filling up. Am not going to suggest this to anyone and am never going back there. Very bad. Not happy at all.

Don't expect the room to look like the picture. My room had a massive wet patch on the floor and it was in a separate building away from the main hotel, which felt really dodgy when you are travelling by yourself. The bed was hard as nails.

The hotel is older and could use a few upgrades, but is very clean and in a quiet section of town. About a 10 minute walk to \"downtown.\" Staff was attentive and friendly. The \"Continental breakfast\" was disappointing and not worth the extra cost and didn't seem to be used by the patrons. Having said all that it was good value for the money.

Just a minor issue when we went to use the pool facility there was a nappy left there that hadn’t been taken away which was a little off putting but we realised when we got back to the room that we entered the pool a little earlier than its opening time so that was probably our fault. Other than that it was a fantastic stay would definitely stay there again!
