Good check in was the only highlight. The room was very musty and smelt during the whole stay. We had to leave the ranch slider open to air out the place. The bed was extremely old and very uncomfortable. Could not recommend at all.

The first room was so smelly it made me feel sick. We got moved to a different room which didn’t smell but was filthy. The place needs a good clean. We didn’t use the pool or spa as given the general lack of cleanliness I wasn’t convinced the spa and pool had been cleaned properly either

The check in was very quick and we were shown personally to our lovely room which we had booked with a balcony. The owner was so kind and friendly and always on hand should you need anything.
The room was big and clean and the location perfect. The kitchen was a lovely bonus. The shower was powerful. The bed was so comfortable and had the best night sleep. Wish we could have stayed longer, it really is the most wonderful area located 1 minute from the beach and all the lovely shops and restaurants of Paihia. Would recommend 100%

Good basic clean accommodation with helpful staff. Close enough to walk around the corner and up the street to the shops and the wharf. I slept very well on the bed- mattress the right comfort for me and the pillows plentiful. The kitchenette had the basics although I didnt need to cook anything. I cant comment on the pool or spa as I didnt use them.

Edelweiss Motel is an older, basic accommodation as you would expect for the price. Our room was a good size, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The swimming pool and the surrounding area were clean and neat. I find swimming pools are often too cold for me, but the water here was a very nice temperature.

The room had a pungent curry smell, but was relatively clean except under the bed where it had not been cleaned in a very long time.

The kitchen window latch was broken, the shower had not been cleaned adequately.

Staff were friendly, yet the premises were not well maintained, broken washing line and unorganized cleaning material in the laundry. The pool had lots of hair in it and the spa water was obviously not changed as it was yuck. Pahia itself was beautiful but the hotel although relatively cheap was not the best and will not return for another stay

I had paid for this booking but they told me I had not on check-in. They took the amount again. I checked my credit card statement and matched the amount and date with my itinery. They pretended it was a mistake and asked for my bank account details to refund the money. They pretended this is the first time this has happened. I dont believe them. I dont even believe this was the first time they have been caught. I am a single female traveller and feel I was taken advantage of

Room was indicated to be small which is was but ut was big enough for a short stay. Place was tired and in need of an update, but this is reflected in the price. Dishwashing cloth and liquid were in the room but there was no kitchen sink. It is inappropriate to wash food items in a handbasin. Given its location in Waitangi some consideration of Maori cultural tikanga (separattioitn of food and bathroom activities ) would be good. Suggest tthey add a plastic bowl for this use.

The hotel manager was extremely helpful and lovely! We came here with our family. To be honest, this place hasnt faired well over covid - its looking a bit tired and in need in some investment to freshen the rooms up. The kids loved the pool

Unfortunately this is a motel we will not be back to.
The bathroom had no towel rails but bare holes in the wall where a towel rail once was. The toilet seat was all for whatever reason scratched up.
The road noise was a significant issue for us and despite being booked in for two nights we checked out after one night. No refund was afforded despite our request and the issues we encountered.
We booked into a similarity priced motel with twice the quality within the hour.

The room was very adequate for our purpose however I didn't like having to wash dishes in the hand basin in the bathroom. Even though it was very clean it didn't appeal to me. Maybe if a plastic basin was provided could be an option.

Reservation was double booked then was asked to pay more for another room. When I contacted Expedia and a big thanks to Expedia, the manager then gave us an upgraded room but did not follow through with it. We were given a backpackers room on another property with no hot water and was part of social emergency housing. All credit to the reception staff who tried his best well done PJ. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this motel very disappointed.

As advertised - great value accomodation in Paihia. Would stay again for sure. Good location, friendly staff. Appreciated the heated pool & spa on days the beach was too cold. Decent sized room and spacious bathroom. Was clean. Never ran out of hot water in the bathroom. Only improvements would be: heat pump in room, new beds (wasn’t uncomfortable but could feel springs starting to come through in spots), better water pressure, new shower/bath, in room fridge didn’t quite get cold enough, and we stayed in the unit below the office and we could hear noise from upstairs. Wasn’t too bad but just being extra mindful of that between the hours of 10pm-8am.

Lovely Motel, excellent situation as it was a nice walk to Paihia's shops and restaurants, with cafes locally.

Reception staff were very friendly and cheerful. Our unit was nice and clean, and smelt nice and fresh. Beds were good. It was a hot day when we arrived and the windows and doors were open so our unit was aired and cool, which was awesome. Only reason why I didn't put excellent (and this is being particular picky - sorry) was because we didn't have a hairdryer (but we managed) and one other reason - air con would have been amazing. Good place to stay though.

Had a lovely stay here. It’s just as you drive into Paihia so you can’t miss it. Really short walk to the beach, small but has everything you need so no need to go large :)

Beds were comfy, the cleanliness was excellent and the hotel staff were beyond helpful and pleasant.

I would gladly stay here again as well as recommend to anybody asking.

We were warmly welcomed by Trish who showed us to our room. Our requests for a ground floor suite and walk in shower were graciously accomodated. Our room and kitchenette were well stocked with everything we needed, including milk and coffee. The location is perfect for exploring Paihia. The pool looked lovely, but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate for us to use it. Thank you for a relaxing vacation.

Spacious and perfect for families

We had a fantastic short stay in a 2 bedroom apartment. There was ample space, a well equipped kitchen, and the cleanliness was outstanding. The kids absolutely loved the warm pool and spent hours in there each day. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The wifi worked good too. The only thing I would change is that the apartment’s water was turned up a little too hot.

A Nice Place To Stay

We stayed here for two nights on our tour of the North. A nice, clean Motel, though we did find the room smaller than what we'd been used to on our travels. Maybe as we didn't pay a lot it's to be expected.
It's a ten minute walk from the centre and the pier is in Pahia. Not far from restaurants, cafes and bars.
I would recommend this Motel.
