I wasn’t aware that property had smoking rooms and got reserved under one. I had to upgrade room due to a conference at property that still cost a substantial amount even with a discount and adding points to my bonvoy membership.

Wonderful stay

Incredible high floor view of everything north of downtown Sendai, including the Sendai Dai Kannon statue. The room was very large, quiet, and felt very luxurious, including the great smelling bath salts.

Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. They greet you on the first floor and handle luggage, then direct you to the 25th floor lobby where check-in happens. We took an overnight excursion into a nearby onsen town and the hotel graciously stored our main luggage overnight so we wouldn't have to lug it around on a city bus.

check in is the first part of a persons experience and when it starts off with a long line and waiting over 20 minutes, its a bad start.

A very pleasant stay at the Westin~ The hotel is located at the 26-34/F of a commercial tower, which offers wonderful city view no matter from the lobby or our room! The room is luxurious and spacious - which is quite rare for Japanese hotels.

It takes a 10-min walk from Sendai Station and a 15-min walk from the central shopping area Aobadori. But again the pleasant accommodation worths the walk!

I enjoyed a 3-night stay in a comfortable and attractive room with a lovely gold artwork, and fabulous views of the city, river and sea. It was great to have a coffee capsule machine. The table, which couldn’t be moved, was too far from power sockets. Well-equipped bathroom with good bench space. Excellent housekeeping and pleasant staff. Less than 10 minutes walk from the JR station and convenient for all the main sights, or transport to them.

Way more room than the shoebox Japan hotels

Our stay started with an advantage as they gave us a free upgrade to a superior room.
The superior room was amazing, and heaps of space compared to other Japanese hotels - you do get what you pay for and this one was well worth it.

Stunning views, luxurious, stylish and A1 service!

My favourite accommodation in Japan so far. With the lobby on the 26th floor I imagine all rooms would have excellent views. Ours certainly did! The room was very luxurious and spacious - especially for the price - as was the entire hotel. The bed was probably the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

All the staff were very courteous and helpful and spoke English very well - a rare commodity in Japan. The smoking lounge was classy and comfortable and had two sets of doors so as not to impact passing non-smokers.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and will 100% stay there again on my next visit to Sendai.

The room was very spacious and our view was spectacular. The staff cheerfully and promptly delivered ice cubes when we requested it. The staff in the lobby were also very friendly and welcoming. Another big plus was the fitness center which was fairly well equipped. I would certainly stay at this hotel again!

Undoubtedly one of my best stays ever! Room is large and with a good city view. Everything is clean and prompt. The concierge department especially, with Wako-san and Minamoto-san for their excellent service and great help for securing us some tickets. I simply cannot find faults about this place. This hotel will surely be our top list of recommendation. I will be back for sure.

Perfect location for exploring Sendai

We moved to the The Westin after checking into another hotel in Sendai and realising we had made a big mistake! The Westin is simply stunning. The room was well appointed with every luxury you can imagine. The BEST bath and bathroom ever! The views are breathtaking. I think it's the highest building in Sendai (I could be wrong!?) so we could see all the way to the snow capped mountains from our bed and for breakfast each morning. I highly recommend the buffet breakfast. It has every taste covered allowing 'western style' breakfast needs to be met as equally as asian style (soups, fish etc). Our 8 year old was most impressed with the selection and she is a very fussy eater. Location wise The Westin is a great base for exploring Sendai. Everything you need is within walking distance. Shopping, food, laundry facilities, entertainment etc. You will not be disappointed with The Westin!

Hotel rooms are 26th floor and above. So it's quiet. Room amenities are fantastic. Lobby bar has good drinks and food. We had room service, beautifully presented. Gym is small but not much used, so it was fine.
Only negative is if you are into breakfast, that is buffet only, and like US$ 30. Even getting only a cup of coffee in the morning was $7. So just make it in the room!

Massive hotel in Sendai.

This is a HUGE hotel by any standard in Japan. Very nice facilities with full service. This hotel is very western in style and not at all a typical Japanese hotel. It is very spacious. I can recommend this hotel for tourism with families. It is a bit of a walk from the nearest station. So for business only, I personally do not recommend. I don't like having to walk that far to the hotel and then up to the 26th floor for check-in and then take a second elevator to my room. For business, in the future, I would pick another hotel closer to the public transit. On the other hand, if you are a westerner and not comfortable in smaller hotels, you will feel very comfortable here. It is very nice with a good breakfast.

Great comfort in the center of Sendai.

Overall, the room was very comfortable especially the bed. Great view of the city from our window too. The only set back is that you need to pay to use internet. Nowadays free internet are provided everywhere and this is what the management should seriously consider to improve before the Olympic in 2020.

I absolutely love the Westin Sendai. It is literally my favorite hotel to stay in, and in my opinion, the nicest hotel in Sendai. The service is always unbelievable, even by Japanese standards, and I always feel at home when I stay here. Not only have I stayed here on multiple occasions, but I recently had my wedding here and everything from start to finish was amazing. I cannot praise the Westin Sendai enough. You also cannot ask for a better location, being just minutes away from Sendai station, and walking distance to all the shops and restaurants you could ask for. Well done.

Stay in Sendai at least once a year. The staff are really helpful and nice. A big shout out to the team who do the breakfast in the morning. So helpful, somehow formal but friendly. Only ding to the hotel is no drawers in the room to put stuff... otherwise would be perfect 5.

Beautiful hotel close to the train station in Sendai. Close to shopping and eveeything at the Kokubuncho area.
For the first time there is a separate fee for Internet service and it doesn't cover the whole hotel just your room. If we are spending over 2 to 3 hundred dollars a night on a room why isn't this included?

　ひとつ、細かいところですが、施設的に不便と思われる点がありました。
　洗面台で鏡を見ながら髪を乾かしセットする際に、背景が濃い木目のドアのため、髪の色が黒のため背景と同化してしまい、セットが非常にしにくかったと思いました。
　大したおしゃれをする人間ではないのですが、もし改善できればありがたいと思いました。
　息子の大学受験でしたので、そのために少し贅沢をさせいただきまして、上記以外は大変快適な時間をすごさせていただきました。　ありがとうございました。
