The room may be on the smaller side but there was still plenty of room. If you're looking for a budget friendly hotel that gives you the red carpet feeling, this is your spot. Incredible location close to the station and the staff truly is amazing.

Budget friendly without getting lost.

After my last trip to Kyoto I find it best for new travelers to just stay near the station. That way you can explore to your hearts content without worrying about getting lost. As if you do just hop on any bus and head back to the station and your hotel. So this location hit the mark it’s close to the station and near a 7-11 so getting snacks are convenient. The check in easy and the rooms aren’t the biggest but for t budget friendly option it big enough. It’s clean and the beds are on platforms allowing us to story luggage under the bed. Would definitely stay again

We stayed in four hotels in Japan and this was by far our least favorite and most expensive (but we loved Kyoto). Be aware that this is an unserviced hotel. So no one came in to clean up, they just put a bag of towels, etc on our door each day. After three days our trash cans were overflowing (pic). We asked the front desk for more water and they refused saying only one bottle per visit, no matter how many days. The room was on the second floor and had a view of nothing but another building (pic). There was a thin door in the wall (fire escape?) that allowed all of the noise from the b1 dining room to come in to the room (pic). They had no coffee or tea service in the lobby/dining, just instant packets in the room. In the morning, the hallway was strewn with trash, laundry, linens, etc.(pic) instead of using maid carts to service each room one at a time. We paid much less in Tokyo, Odawara and shizuoka and got MUCH more. Unless you are a business person looking for a place close to the train station for one night, don't bother... Stay somewhere on the JR line further from the station. You'll spend less and have a better stay.

Very conveniently located a minute walk away from kyoto station. People complain that the hotel is small, but a friendly reminder that youre in japan and not paying much to stay at an APA hotel. It's literally for leaving your luggage, showering, and sleeping. Your day is meant to be spent outdoors exploring or tending to business. For what we paid, it was more than enough, clean, quick check in and out. Rooms were clean and swrvice was good. We tried out a non APA hotel around the same price range in a different city and it was a huge regret.

Great Value Stay!!!

Great value for the price. The room was perfect size for me. Would have been fine if my wife was with me, and maybe 1 child, but that's probably max. But it was clean and location was convenient. Combini in 1 minute walking distance, and many restaurants near Kyoto station. I'd definitely stay there again when back in Kyoto.

The bathroom was smaller than any other bathroom I’ve encountered in any Asian county. The toilet on the Shinkansen has better legroom. I had to use the toilet with my knees outside the open bathroom door. The ceiling of the bathroom has a duct over the shower, limiting the headroom to lower than my shoulder, and the tub is too small to sit in for anyone bigger than a child. There were other guests on my floor that were renting multiple rooms and spent their evening talking to each other loudly in the hallway, and when I asked them to be quiet and go into their rooms, they complained to the staff about me. Luckily, the staff were understanding and there were no problems, but it was still a bad experience. The staff were excellent and friendly, the problems were not the staff fault at all, the problems were the size of the bathroom and the other guests.

The best thing about this hotel is its location, which is 5 min walk from the Kyoto station. However, the room is really small, there’s no space to put your luggage, even the hallway leading to the beds is tight. The worst part is that this hotel only has 2 washer/dryer combos, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this size. Each combo takes 2 hrs to wash/dry, causing long waits for people, and what’s worse is that after 2 hrs, the clothes come out very damp, basically no drying effect. To make it worse, they put a combo lock to release the machine, so if someone is late picking up their laundry, in our case, we had to wait another 20 min for someone’s late pickup. It’s the worst amenity setup I’ve ever seen in a hotel, would not recommend this hotel unless you have no laundry to do, and don’t care about amenities in general.

It was easily accessible from the Kyoto Station and was clean. The room size was a bit bigger than what we've experienced with an APA in Osaka but the bathroom was smaller. My husband is 5'8\" and the ceiling of the shower space was just about an inch or two from his head. The front desk staff tried to assist some questions we had but English was minimal to none. All in all, if we ever return to Kyoto, I would book this hotel again.

Nice option for budget sensitive travelers

This is a budget hotel, great price but very small rooms as you can imagine. Nevertheless, it was clean and everything was in good shape. Not much of a view but that's ok because we were mainly there to sleep. It's close to everything, no issue finding stores, good restaurants and as close to the train station as possible. Overall a good place to stay but don't expect a 5 star luxury hotel.

Just a short walk from Kyoto Station, Kyoto Aquarium and Nidec Kyoto Tower. Lots of shopping and dining options at Kyoto Station and the area nearby with 7-11 just down the street as well. We selected this hotel mainly for convenience, but convenience aside, it is due for renovations. Room was fairly clean, but starting to show its age compared to some other APA Hotels we stayed at during our time in Japan. It could have been because this APA Hotel was located in Kyoto, but both the interior and exterior was on the older side. On the bright side no central AC, so you can set your own temperature to your liking with the individual AC unit inside the room. If you want absolute quiet or a light sleeper, keep in mind you can hear the trains passing lightly in the distance if you stay at this hotel.

Great location for a place to stay in Kyoto. We loved how close to the train station it was for day trips in the area. The breakfast buffet was great with a good variety of both Japanese and western options for a reasonable price. The room was small (which we expected for Japan) but had all of the necessities needed for our stay. The only complaint was the shower was extremely cramped for my husband who is 5’10”. He could not stand in it and had to crouch down in order to shower. Overall we would go back again and were satisfied with our stay.

Hotel is close to the station so it's very convenient. But the rooms and bathrooms are outdated and the beds and pillows were uncomfortable. This room was the smallest and most cramped out of all the places we stayed during this trip. Housekeeping was also in full swing when we left our room at 9am each day which is rather early for someone on vacation - would they have busted into our rooms while we slept in?
I would recommend this hotel only if you are looking for a hotel close to the station and with a low budget. Otherwise, I'd recommend spending a little bit more for a more updated and comfortable option. We looked forward to checking out of this location.
Front desk reception staff were polite and helpful, though it seemed that some of the night crew were less experienced in terms of knowledge and English language compared to their day shift staff (we got different answers from different staff about luggage delivery services).
If you ask the front desk to hold your luggage prior to check in or for a while after check out, make sure you screenshot the QR code to pick up your luggage after. I'm not sure how I would have been able to pull up that QR code again if I didn't have a screenshot of it...

This is a standard APA hotel with small rooms that have anything you would need for a short stay. Location is very convenient just steps away from Kyoto Station with lots of shopping, dining and entertainment options. I arrived at Kyoto Station at 6am, so I walked to the hotel. It took only 3-4 minutes from the station. The person (young lady) at front desk was not that friendly but was professional. They kindly hold my luggage until the check-in time. The room was compact but well designed, so the room size was good enough for one person. If you are traveling from overseas, you may feel it would be smaller, but I think that's a normal size for this type of hotel. The breakfast has a variety, and I enjoyed the meals for two days. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this APA-hotel. I'd like to stay at this hotel again if I visit Kyoto next time.

First time to Kyoto. Great location within easy five minute walking distance from Kyoto station. Excellent access to public transportation in the area to get to all major sites. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were compact yet ergonomically designed to feel spacious. Quiet. Great breakfast.

Perfectly located and accessible. My only 4/5 star is that the bed was very firm and i ended up buying pillows (conveniently located across the square for $16 usd for 2 down pillows) .The space was small but very comfortable/ functional. And the bathroom did not meet the expectation/perception of space (tub is a basin not a tub) in photos but still very functional. If you are to people get the two double or two twins even if you share one. The queen/ single double was still very accommodating for three days .

Very nice hotel. Clean property and bed. Staff are friendly. Although it’s common in Japan that they won’t let you check in before 3pm. You can try after 2:30pm, the hotel offers a little flexibility, otherwise you are expected to pay ¥1000 Japanese yen per hour if you check in early. Their location is perfect for me, so close to the Kyoto Station, just a few minutes walk. I also stayed at another APA location, they are a quality brand.

They advertised as \"No smoking\" hotel, but the room they assigned to me has a very strong smell of cigarettes. They tried to give me different rooms on 4th and 5th floor, but they all smell so bad. Their excuse was they are fully booked and there's no other room available. Since they gave me no choice, I stayed on the 4th floor for a few hours and went back to the counter again, because the room smells so bad with cigarettes, masking it with some strong perfumes. Finally they gave me a room on 11th floor single bed even though I booked a double bed. The Lady told me that the 4th and 5th floors used to be \"SMOKING ROOM\" Floors.

Located about 4 mins walk from Kyoto station, the hotel is easily accessible if you're coming by train. The bus terminal is also just outside the train station, so it is easy to travel within the city.

Room was clean and sufficient. Size as a little bigger than expected for APA hotel. Hotel staff were friendly as well and spoke sufficient english.

Will stay here again if coming to Kyoto.
