They are in the process of remodeling which is what caused a messy parking area and sidewalks. The however was a newly renovated one and was very nice. If you need a one night wick stop this motel will work fine.

During remodel there are things that are not complete yet but the room was 99% done!! Very very very nice!!!! The mattresses are top notch and BRAND NEW in the second floor. Owners care a lot about their customers experience. No breakfast; no pool but it’s a cheap clean place to sleep.

I specifically booked this hotel because it advertised the room as smoke-free. Unfortunately, the moment I opened the door, I was hit with a strong and horrible cigarette smell. It was very obvious that the room had been smoked in, despite being listed as non-smoking. The odor was so strong that I could not stay, so I left the room right away. Hotels should ensure that rooms advertised as non-smoking truly meet that standard. I’m still expecting my full refund.

The first room we were given had a low battery in the smoke alarm, which kept beeping every 30 seconds. The front desk attendant accused us of smoking, despite neither me nor my husband having smoked in our lives. It was harder than it should have been to get a different room. The attendant was not friendly at all. We used to go to this Red Roof at least twice a year, but the last experience here will be our last.

A lot of people were hanging about the hotel. The office closed at 7pm. Every night someone knocked on our room door. One night it was twice. Our room key would not stay keyed to the room, so we had to make it back to the hotel to rekey the card before the office closed. Every single day of our four day stay.

The front desk clerk was excellent so I’ll give credit where credit was due, however, the hotel was crowded with homeless people in the parking lot looking in our car windows and asking us if we were bondmens. Once we were in the room we noticed where the police had fingerprinted the room. We decided it wasn’t safe and requested a refund wbu h we were granted. This is not a comforting place for a family.

Bedding was still soaking wet when we arrived, the room smelled like wet dog and mildew, and the staircases were full of homeless people doing drugs. Do not stay here if you have kids or you are a single woman. Sleeping in your car is a better option.

The entire facility was terrible and not up to even a Red Roof standard. There were vagrants and transients loitering in the stairwells, outside in the parking lot and near the elevator, and trash overflowing in the exterior trash cans. The room was drafty due to space under the door. There was a leak in the sink and a bucket underneath to catch the water. The mattress on the bed was sunken and I felt the springs. The smoke detector was missing, the toilet seat in the bathroom was loose, and the tv remote didn’t work. It was a miserable stay with very little sleep and I didn’t feel safe. Couldn’t wait to get out of there.

This place is an absolute dump . We didn’t feel safe . The door lock was broken . There were holes in the walls . Holes in the sheets , cigarette burns and it was filthy . The floor was dirty and the shower was nasty . We ask for a refund but so far none has been given .

Too many homeless people milling around the parking lot and on the stairways. The room smelled odd, there was no hair dryer or cups for water. The bathroom floor hadn’t been cleaned. The comforter under the bed cover was dirty and looked like it had never been washed. Definitely unimpressed and I will not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is sketchy. No smoking signs everywhere but there are people smoking right outside the doors, staff is smoking, place smells weird. Wife is sensitive to cigarettes and it said online no smoking facility. Was only there for 10 minutes and they only refunded us one of the two nights.

Do not stay here I repeat… do not stay here. I tried to stay here for a wedding in Asheville I was attending. This was an awful experience the front desk person would disappear for extended periods of time leaving no one to tend to you when you need it. Room maid service “cleaned” my room and left my door wide open. The room smelled so so bad that it literally left a scent on my clothing. People are literally literally doing drugs outside hard drugs. Not to mention the sheets the shower and everything in the room was disgusting. I am requesting a full refund and I had to leave after just one night. It is actually terrifying trust me.. unless you are a junkie or something else DO NOT STAY HERE it is dangerous

When my Uber driver picked me up from the airport, she said, \"Oh God, you're staying there? Find a different hotel, that one is horrible.\" She was right.

The room was so disgusting that I checked out immediately. Cockroaches running around in the bathtub, visibly filthy towels, comforter, and sheets, dirt and a dead bug all over the sink, and general grime everywhere. I'll never stay at a Red Roof again.

Over the years, I’ve stated this facility probably 100 times. The last three years or so it has gotten progressively worse. At one point it was being used as a homeless shelter, to which I don’t object necessarily and now the clientele seems very seedy. There is a lot of activity after hours scantly clear women people coming and going. People hanging out. For the first time I had roaches in my room which necessitated a room change. It has just gone way downhill.

When I checked in and went to the room the room was not ready yet they were still trying to clean it and that was after 3:00.. when I tried to park in the handicap parking place they were cleaning air conditioners and had the handicap parking places blocked where you could not use them.. not a very good property the property is not that well cleaned the room look nice but the property itself was not very clean on the outside the maid was really nice she tried her best to get the room ready she cannot speak English but communicated back and forth on the phone she said they do this quite a bit they check people in in the rooms aren't ready looks to me like she needs help..

We have stayed here for every trip to Asheville for 20 years. We will NEVER go back. Upon arrival found dirty dishes (heavy glass plates not take out) in the room. The noise from above was unbreakable. We got no sleep. People with shopping carts of belongings hanging out in the breezeway and parking lot. Several \"shady\" individual wandering the property all night. We reserved 2 nights \"reserve now pay at property\" paid cash at check-in only to find later card had been charged. Checked out first thing after night 1. So sad

Sleep in your car over this place.

It was easily the dirtiest motel room I’ve ever experienced. It also was most definitely not a non-smoking room. We had to get clean sheets and place them over the entire bed and sleep on top of the covers. The only thing going for this room was that there were no signs of bed bugs. If it wasn’t midnight and if there was availability anywhere else, we wouldn’t have stayed.

I have stayed here a couple of times with pretty low expectations cause it’s a cheap spot, pet-friendly spot. It has always had some issues but was especially awful recently. Mystery stains on the comforter, sheets, walls, and floor, mold on the shower curtain, burn marks and deep stains on the pillows. There should be a bare minimum of standards, even for a motel. There were clearly none here.

The staff was friendly though, so there’s that.

Front desk staff was very kind and helpful. The room however had trash under the bed, dirty towels in the bathroom and live roaches in the bathroom as well. There were what I am guessing are drug users were outside in and out of rooms asking my partner and and for things and a ride. Neither of us could understand what they were saying. We did not feel safe so we left.

I had booked a two night stay for me and my two daughters for my oldest child’s lacrosse tournament. The rooms did not match the pictures on the website at all. From the elevator to the rooms showed a lot of wear and tear and uncleanliness. Paint was chipped and falling of the door frames and door, there were stains on the bed and stains on the floor. There was what looked like blood or red juice on the lamp above my bed. We wouldn’t have stayed one night had I not gotten there at 8:30 and my children were tired. My youngest was scared to death to stay there. One bright spot the front desk was fantastic and tried to be as accommodating as possible. Lady there at night and the Manager in the morning both helped me out the best they could and refunded what they could. All that said best not to stay here if you can help it. Oh I forgot I went to take a shower in the morning and bugs crawled across the tub, That was it for me!

I chose this hotel because I was trying to save money and it had better pricing. The room was OK and not outright dirty, but they walkway and stairs to the room were filthy. The bed was comfortable and the staff was nice. There were no amenities. We didn’t even have a coffee pot in our room.

There was only 1 elevator and it was outside. They had a \"febreeze\" scent with dog poop and pee smell. It was so strong it would take your breath. You could see where dogs had peed in the elevator. The door latch was not secure so we had to sleep with the chair in front of the door. This is one place we will not stay at again, just did not feel safe.

Took 45 minutes to check-in. Staff blamed \"new software\" for the issues. After the wait, wound up being issued a room that had not yet been cleaned. Discovered that elevator smells like wet dog, body odor, sweaty feet, and weed.

Latch on door of second room was broken in half, room was otherwise fine.

About what you would expect from a hotel in one of the lesser parts of Asheville.

The smoke free hotel was not smoke free. Everywhere I turned there were cigarette butts on the ground, sidewalks, and the elevator. The sidewalks were heavily stained. The room ceiling was flaking and peeling. The bed cover had a cigarette burn. The sink barely drained for hours. The tub had hair in and on it. The bathroom ceiling had water stains and mold growing over the shower head. The shower curtain was covered in mold. Never go to this place if you want sleep in a clean hotel.
