Great service at the bar and restaurant, with staff who were attentive and friendly. The pool area was clean and relaxing, and the garden beautifully maintained, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. However, I was a bit disappointed that access to the spa facilities (such as the sauna and steam room) required an additional charge. While I completely understand paying for treatments, I feel that basic access to these facilities should be included. Overall, though, it’s a very calm and enjoyable place to stay.

We stayed one night. The restaurant was fully booked (I have never experienced this before in a large hotel). The Spa was overcrowded with noisy young people. So I can only comment on the room. The room was spacious and clean with a good shower. I would not stay again as there are other hotels in the area that provide a more cost effective service, given the limitations I experienced.

The hotel grounds and rooms were amazing. Very spacious and up to date. Staff were great and although not located close to any shops, the location was perfect if you are driving and want to see the area. Wifi was spotty would be my only issue and as I was required to work daily, this made it a bit harder. Otherwise, great location and room.

My fifth visit to this nice hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and service throughout. Excellent housekeeping and super quiet effective air conditioning in the rooms. Nice pool and garden with plenty of shade.

Couple of small gripes. Shame there was no lunch service in the garden like in previous years. Hotel bar closed a bit early (but night manager always willing to open it up).

Check in was ok. Room was ok - however room was warm and itchy at night.

The service was horrendous, tried ordering room service - hung up on 3/4 times. Things turned worse at breakfast when I was constantly sighed and tutted at for pouring an orange juice. I understand covid, but for someone to run over and snatch the bottle, sigh, tut and tell me I’m wrong is unnecessary.

Checkout made me want

Finally went to check out and was told I hadn’t paid - showed my receipt and hotels.com account proving I had, the guy told me I was wrong and told me ‘it’s ok because my details are on file’, started entering my details into the card machine, then realised he was wrong. Apologetic after that.

Uncomfortable. Rude staff and service was a joke.

Hated everything about this hotel.

My second stay. Had a nice spacious Executive room with good WiFi. Excellent dinner in Pantagruel restaurant and good lunches in the garden. Service was helpful and friendly especially concierge although at times the food and drink staff seemed a little overwhelmed; perhaps due to understaffing?

Posta Donini! - A jewel in Umbria

Amazing place to stay! It is the little things that make this place one of a kind: like two suitcase stands in the room. The service felt like they were full time career professionals that felt like they really cared about the place and the hospitality. Dinner and breakfast was amazing! Some of the best meals we had in Italy. Loved the old fashion feel to the place - peaceful to walk about the garden and read about the various plants. Wish we had spent more time in the area to be able to spend more time at this hotel.

A few helpful tip to travellers:
- The hotel doesnt have an iron for customers to use, however they do have a laundry service which you can choose to pay for
- You will need a car if you stay here, taxis are very expensive as they have to travel in from Perugia

Absolute bliss

We have been fortunate enough to stay in many fabulous hotels, all over the world, but Posta Donini has just gone to being our favourite hotel, anywhere.
The staff are absolutely wonderful - every single one of them took the greatest care of us.
Our room was beautiful, with probably the most comfortable bed, bedding and pillow we have ever experienced (apart from our own bed, of course!).
The food was spectacular, at breakfast, lunch and dinner - fresh and very creative. We were only sorry that we were only staying for one night, and so could not try out more of the dishes offered on the menu.
A real treasure of a hotel, and one to which we’d love to return.
A massive thank you to Giacomo and the whole team, for making our stay so wonderful.

I do not recommend anyone staying in this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are nothing like advertised. Everything was old and was falling apart. Then they tuned the AC off remotely because it’s nice out however, they booked a wedding and blasted the music till 2am, the windows were shaking due to the music being so loud. So we couldn’t open the windows without waking the kids. Definitely not coming back.

Well appointed hotel for Umbrian visit

The hotel with its beautiful grounds and gardens is just outside Perugia anda great place to escape the hussle and bussle. Also very accessible for day trips elsewhere. Its spa was definitely one of the best I have been to and was a real plus. Super spread at breakfast and we also had two great evening meals at the restaurant. Staff were friendly and very obliging to all enquiries and requests. We will be back.

A luxurious retreat in a quiet location with easy access to Perugia and the hill towns of Umbria. The local bus stop is across the street from the property and is an ideal way to get to Perugia. The hotel is lovely, the landscaping with abundant roses and other plantings is quite beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Comfortable stay in this impressive hotel

We had a lovely couple of nights in this impressive hotel. We were in one of the cheapest rooms in the annex and it was perfectly fine. The bed was big and very comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening and that was also a good experience. We ate breakfast beside the pool which was an unexpected bonus. We used taxis to get in and out of Perugia as we were told by the hotel that the buses can take up to 90 minutes. The hotel also organised a taxi to collect us from the airport and that worked smoothly. We would definitely stay again when we plan our next trip to the area.

Wonderful villa in Umbria

The Donini property was a great place to stay for visiting the attractions of the Perugia area. The hotel features an elegant, historic villa and gardens. Our room had all advertised amenities, was spacious and had nice furnishings with a sitting area. The buffet breakfast was good and the hotel has onsite parking. The staff of the hotel and restaurant were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean and great massage, the only thing about the spa is its freezing in the spa area so that made it uncomfortable. But overall nice, clean hotel, a little old but still great.

The front desk staff people were very helpful. The housekeeping staff could have done a more thorough job. For example, the base of the toilet was dirty throughout our stay. Glasses were not washed every day. Parking was an issue, and on busy nights it was even hard to find a space across the street.

This is a stunning hotel with a beautiful pool. It is only 20 minutes to Perugia, Todi and Assisi which makes it a great base from which to explore Umbria. It has a lovely spa too for those occasions when the sun isnt on the outdoor pool. The rooms are very attractive. The breakfasts are disappointing, however, as they continually run out of food. We stayed for 5 nights and not once did we find everything we wanted to eat available and hot all at once.

The staff was very helpful and the overall experience was very good. Spent the days visiting other towns from this central location. We got a good rate for a very high end venue. Hotel was nearly empty except for a few Italian visitors. There is nothing to see or do in the town so plan to drive to other places for dinner. We did eat at the hotel twice; nice, but there is more to explore in the area. Try Oesteria dei Birbi for a wonderful meal in a farmhouse setting.

The Alla Posta is a little difficult to find without a GPS. Fair hotel clean, the rooms are bare bones. There are 2 pools one indoor and the other outside. Spa treatments are available but we did not use them. Do not come here without a car. There is nothing within walking distance. It is nicely located for visiting, Perugia 15-20 minutes to the center, Assisi about the same. It is a few minutes from Deruta, famous for its ceramics. If you are interested in modern ceramic visit Damiani ion the industrial zone of Deruta. It is in Umbria which beautiful.

The hotel is located in very small town. Is very pretty and with lots of history. We stayed for 11 nights, and went to Assisi, Perugia, Spoleto, Todi, Marsciano, Compignano, Siena, Pisa, Trevi, etc. Is a good location.

Pleasant Hotel, Lovely Grounds

A very nice hotel within striking distance of Perugia. The rooms are spacious and scrupulously clean, with particularly comfortable beds. The staff, are very friendly and fairly helpful, considering somewhat limited English, but this is not really a 'full-service' hotel - bar is not staffed for e.g. The pool area is very pleasant, surrounded by well-maintained gardens. The annexe where the majority of the accommodation is, while a new addtion, is perfectly nice. The hotel does a roaring trade as a wedding venue, but it does not impinge too much on your enjoyment as this is on another part of the grounds, though you will still hear the music in the daytime. The location is on the outskirts of a rather unpreposessing town and, as such, is not particularly rural, though the grounds mostly make up for it.

Wish we had more time!!!

What an amaizing get away to paradise!
We only had 3 nights but it truly was a 5 star vacation. Don`t let the short distance of 10kms from the city of Perugia discourage you. In fact my husband and I ventured on the local bus to the city. It was only 1.50 Euros each and there is a stop with the scheudle right outside the gates to the Spa. The city is diverse in it's structure with lots tp see, eat and enjoy. Don't forget about the wondeful chocolate as well.
We treated ourselves to a treatment in the spa and it was worth every penny spent!!!
The restaurant was beautiful with a fully trained professional staff. We cannot say enough about our stay here.
We will definatley stay here again!

Non c'è due senza tre..

Per il week end di San Valentino siamo stati in questa splendida struttura (per la terza volta) circondata da un meraviglioso parco. La camera molto bella, arredata con gusto e con una splendida vista sul parco. Una chicca e' stata la presenza di un comodo e romantico letto a baldacchino. Bagno funzionale e molto luminoso . Nonostante il ristorante fosse chiuso per lavori , abbiamo potuto festeggiare San Valentino cenando nelle ex Scuderie , ambiente raffinato e ottimo menu..Il buffet colazione soddisfacente per scelta e qualità. Abbiamo usufruito della spa , molto pulita e ben attrezzata. Il personale tutto sempre gentile e premuroso.

Servio bar davvero insufficiente (dopo aver fatto cenno al cameriere che volevamo ordinare è scomparso per più di 30 minuti). Ristorante qualità sufficiente servizio assolutamente insufficiente (mi hanno portato un piatto diverso da quello ordinato, cambiandolo li hanno fatto aspettare un’eternita’ senza cercare di recuperare offrendo qualcosa o facendo un qualche sconto alla fine).

Posta Donini: a welcoming experience in Umbria

Posta Donini is a renovated grand residence that was originally built in the 16th century. The setting is beautiful, but what really makes this place unique is the kindness and availability of the staff. They are incredibly helpful and go out of their way to make sure you have a memorable stay.

For example, I needed a wired internet connection with a static IP address, and the staff did their best to accommodate my request.

I highly recommend the free tour of the grand residence as it gives you many fascinating insights to the long history of the building, which was fascinating.

The breakfast and the food in general are also excellent. There is a wide variety of options to choose from, and everything is made fresh to order. The swimming pool is great. I didn't try the SPA as I was happy enough with the outdoor pool.

Overall, I had a wonderful stay at Posta Donini. It's a truly unique and welcoming hotel, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special place to stay in Umbria.

Last but not least, if you have an EV there is a charger in the immediate vicinity of the hotel parking and a Tesla Supercharger station at a 5 minute drive, which was extremely convenient.

Personally, I will return for sure :)

Il giardino è il suo forte

Bella struttura immersa nel verde con piante secolari . Non posso giudicare la Spa perché non ne ho usufruito. Piscina piccola ma gradevole anche se purtroppo ancora inutilizzabile per il tempo . Nel complesso consigliato

Una notte terribile

Abbiamo trascorso una notte in bianco a causa della festa privata organizzata nella sala adiacente alla struttura dove orde di ragazzi hanno urlato e intonato cori da stadio fino alle 2.30 della notte. La direzione informata dell’accaduto non si è presentata a noi nemmeno per le scuse e per offrirci un indennizzo economico per averci fatto passare una notte senza dormire. Assolutamente inaccettabile per i prezzi che si pagano per soggiornare nella struttura . Soggiorno assolutamente da sconsigliare.
