The staff is the best, the hotel is very clean. The beds are very comfortable. The only issue we had was the noise coming from the other room and the cleaners in the morning that were extremely loud on a Saturday early morning. There is an obvious issue with the sound proofing.

There are simply not enough good things to say about this hotel. Wonderful location in the heart of beautiful
Perugia. Lorenzo, Stefano and the lovely young woman at the front desk make up one of the hardest working, most pleasant and professional staffs in all of Italy. The hotel is so clean it sparkles and both the housekeeping staff and catering staff went above and beyond every day of our stay. We loved our time here at Locanda and we look forward to returning. Overall a really wonderful property, in a perfect location, with excellent staff, clean and spacious rooms, a lovely breakfast, and nearby garage parking. We'd absolutely return. However, a quick note to management regarding major roofing construction taking place directly outside our window beginning each day at 8:00a. This was never mentioned to us and absolutely should have been. Of course we recognize the hotel has no control over neighboring work, but it at least deserved some sort of notification or recognition to guests before arrival. Or perhaps an offer of a different room without men yelling to one another first thing in the morning and working literally inches from us, looking in our window. No privacy, no chance to sleep in on holiday. Management should have been honest and communicative in this instance rather than ignore it and hope we didn't care. Hopefully other guests weren't equally affected. We recommend travelers ask the hotel before booking if they can expect this same possibility as management may not be as responsible as expected for this level of boutique property.

This is an exceptional hotel which seems to have been recently renovated and is superbly decorated in every way. If you can, book a room near the roof top with a jacuzzi on the terrace. It makes for a very special treat. Very friendly service and good value considering the quality and the location. A great breakfast too.

Beautiful Hotel and Sublime Breakfast

This hotel is beautiful. We enjoyed two nights here right in the heart of Centro Perugia. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff from the point of confirming arrival details, storing bags until check in, and then there’s the breakfast. It’s sublime. Just right to start the day and great espresso as well. We could not fault this place and highly recommend to anyone searching for a little luxury for a great price.

Very nice stay in Perugia - walkable to all attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially getting us to their private car park (25€ and worth it). They offered great recommendations for meals and gelato. Our room was good for a one night stay (not for people that have a lot of baggage, but im sure the hotel had larger rooms for those guests) - nice shower and towels.Enjoyed the breakfast, especially the fresh fruit, make your own waffles and water station to fill up water bottles to take on- the- go.

We had an excellent stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have chilled water and an espresso machine open for use 24 hrs a day. Room was spacious and bright, overlooking the town square below. The location can't be beat, right in the middle of things, but you're above the action. Reasonably priced. Definitely would stay again and hope to return.

A luxury hotel in a fantastic location. Walk out the front door onto the main pedestrian thoroughfare of the historic town. Situated in a historic building but with a modern decor. The room was spacious and elegant and the included breakfast was excellent.

Excellent hotel in Perugia

We loved our stay at Locanda della Posta. The location is perfect in the old town, the room was big, bright and very clean...the bathroom and shower were huge, esp for a European hotel, massive rain shower head. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and it's hard to imagine what they could have done better. Highly recommended, and anyone traveling through Umbria, make it a point to see Perugia, and if you do, def stay here.

A Great Hotel

A great stay at this well located hotel (in the center of Perugia's old town). Secure parking. Room: was well designed, clean and spacious. Perfect location in central Perugia

This inn steps away from the Piazza d'Italia is perfectly situated for exploring Perugia on foot. There is nearby parking for a fee. As with most boutique hotels in historic buildings, the ancient charm comes with trade-offs. The bathroom was cramped, the elevator slow and tiny, the floors are uneven, etc. My only real complaint is that the bed was really substandard. The staff couldn't be nicer and the facilities are spotless.

Perugia's best for elegance, & outstanding service

This has got to be one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in, not just in terms of the building itself (an historic 18th century Italian post office tastefully converted into a hotel, yet still showcasing its architectural heritage) but most crucially the service provided by the outstanding staff. The Locanda was our base in Perugia as we spent four days exploring it and other parts of Umbria. It was so nice to come home (in every sense of that word) after a long day's adventures and just relax before dinner. And circling back to the staff, we had booked a cooking class and vineyard tour in Orvieto, and needed a driver to take us there and back. They not only hired a driver but a true gentleman who regaled us with all kinds of facts and local history that we never would have known otherwise. What a treat! Our room was spacious, modern and immaculate, with a bathroom that had a walk-in shower at least 8 feet wide with a rain head as well as a hand nozzle; so wonderful to have, especially after hiking through the hill towns during an unusually hot summer. Breakfast featured a wide assortment of delicious local meats, cheeses, pastries as well as fare for American and other tastes that fueled us all day. Can't really add anything else except to say that when I return to Perugia, the Locanda della Posta is far and away my first choice. Grazie mille to Hamid, Samantha and the entire staff.

Like staying with family, if your family is swanky

Locanda della Posta was fabulous, once we got there. The hotel is in a traffic restricted zone at the top of the medieval hill town in Perugia, and the hotel's address is not approachable with your car. Put Piazza Italia in your GPS and find one of the hotel baggage parking spots. Call the hotel and staff will appear and cart your bags the few meters down Corso Vannucci to the hotel. The staff is unfailingly courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. A restaurant recommendation and reservation were made upon request, and the evening was highlight of the trip. Even though we were on the main drag in the old town, the room was silent and totally restful. At least two of the rooms on the 4th floor have balconies and outdoor hot tubs. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom was contemporary, sleek and clean. Breakfast is in a salon on the 1st floor with a wonderful frescoed ceiling, and the food and service was splendid. waking up in the morning and being just steps from the National Gallery of Umbrian Art and with a view in two directions of the Umbrian countryside is a wonderful thing.
