Not really what you expect from a 4 star hotel in terms of amenities and cleaning. The room rugs in the floor that were a bit smelly. The pool was dirty

The staff were lovely (especially Angelo) and receptionists spoke English. Hotel very clean and light. Rooms decent size. Wi-Fi and TV reception useless! The restaurant was not open and apart from a couple of bars nowhere to eat nearby without walking into the City. About a 20 minute walk into Perugia.

A few easy improvements would make it even better

Reception staff were really friendly. Breakfast staff member was terse. The room was nice but hot, the air conditioner was not great but luckily there was a fan in the room also. The towels were a lot to be desired, more like a sheet. It is a 20 minute walk to the centre of town so a bit out of the way but would stay again if in the area.

We travelled in the middle of the summer with 34 degrees Celsius outside. The AC in the Hotel was shut off, apparently due to Covid pandemic; other hotels we stayed at days before had them operating. This is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel, especially in the boiling heat.

Moreover, the staff did NOT wear any masks!! This is not only irresponsible, it is also actually against Italian law to do so! Public health authorities have been informed actually to start measures against this hotel.

The staff at the hotel were incredibly welcoming and helped us with everything we needed. The views from the rooftop were one of the most impressive we saw in the entire of Italy and it was worth booking at this hotel for just that. They had an extensive breakfast so everyone could find something to eat and the rooms were set up so that it worked for several types of groups.

The hotel is a little farther from the city center but it is only a 20 minute walk or a fairly inexpensive taxi ride. The staff is also able to help you find your way.

Very nice place and friendly stuff. It was hard to find it at first as we arrived in the city when it was dark and the gps took us to a different location via many-many super narrow and steep streets. Besides gps misleading informatiin, the hotel is located on one of the main roads with easy access. Not walkable to the city centre.

Comfortable hotel with great breakfast

The hotel has a large parking lot with no charge. Rooms are relatively big and a great view of Umbria. Breakfast comes with fresh fruits, fresh vegetable and warm food such as scramble eggs etc, which is not usual in hotel breakfast in Italy.

A great stay in a lovely hotel with helpful staff

I stayed in this very nice hotel, slightly out of the city centre, for the Jazz Festival. I felt very lucky to find it. Prices very reasonable. Staff friendly & helpful. Easy enough to walk to/from city. The room was lovely - cool & airconditioned (temps 30C plus). Quiet & relaxing. Very reasonable breakfast every morning. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Perusia hotel, which was a base for our Umbria visit. The hotel was really nice and clean. The room was big as it had also a bed for our 2,5 year old.
The staff was really friendly and accommodating.
The rooftop pool was particularly nice in the hot days and the view!!!

The front desk staff were very helpful and kind. However, the lobby reeked of cigarette smoke; and not just like someone had recently smoked one cigarette there, but rather like cigarette smoke had permeated deeply into the very fabric of the place over the course of years. The room seemed clean enough, but it was not warm and inviting in any way. The decor was very minimal and the room had a bit of a Cold War Soviet bloc feel to it. As it currently exists, I would probably shop for a different option my next time in Perugia.

We spent 3 nights in total at the hotel. We had to book the rooms night by night due to a family bereavement. The hotel staff were extremely accomodating we had the sane room keot for us. The roons were clean extremely comfortable and in better circumstances would stay again.

Time has stopped here. It needs general refurbishment. The rooms are not in line with today's standards, old furnitures, details and amenities are not of a 4 stars hotel (for example, towels are small and thin and hardly can drya person's body). Very kind staff. Breakfast below the avarage. Position is ok, just 20 min walking from the old town.

Very warm welcome, and the warmth continued throughout our stay with several useful pieces of advice.
Breakfast were fine.
Good and safe parking but then the downside is a bit of a trek into the centre of Perugia. However the route is a delight.

Reasonable room for a weekend

Came here for a weekend with some friends for the jazz festival. It is about a 15 minute walk into the center of town and the price is reasonable. Room was comfortable, bathroom was not pristine. However, it was fine for one night. Got to get rid of the carpets on the floor because these were pretty dingy. There is a nice rooftop pool and bar area with a spectacular view of the city. Will most likely come back for the next jazz festival.

Lovely hotel at an easy walking distance to centre

We stayed two nights here in a double room with an adjoining room for our teenager - very convenient. Rooms were lovely and the views over the Umbrian valley were spectacular. Saw an amazing thunder storm move along the valley. The centre of Perugia was an easy walk and what an amazing city to explore.

Great hotel, a bit of a hike from central Perugia

Clean and nice, with a rooftop pool. The views from the large roof were just sublime. And the pool was neck deep for our non-swimming 6 yr old, so the girls could just play while we sat and enjoyed. The room was superb for all four of us, with AC, clean beds, nice bathroom, etc. Quiet and clean. Dark shades for the morning. Nice staff--and English speaking too. Free parking in the garage for our rental car. There's really only one knock on this hotel: it's a half-hour walk to the centre of town. (Easy bus service too). Not much going on in the 'hood. But, we skipped the pricey breakfast and enjoyed our mornings up the street at the Antica bakery--packed with pastries and friendly locals. I'd rather have stayed in the centre but the kids and spouse loved the rooftop and the hotel, so we were a happy family here.

Made of the finest construction materials with a smooth finish.
Staying here will bring you back to the medieval times where victorious kings and knights lived well.

Good hotel twenty five minute walk to the centre .

The hotel could have given us more in the way of directions from the airport. It was comfortable and clean. We would have liked to have hada kettle and tea making facilities in our room. Apart from that we were very pleased with the hotel.

The hotel was really nice and clean! The bathroom very nice and big as well! everything clean and very friendly service! Excellent location really closed to the center of Perugia and anyhow located in an area wich had everything around:farmacie, coffe shops, bus ecc. We had dinner onced at the restaurant of the hotel and it was good. Can't say the same about the breakfast! Very disappointig! At nine o'clock many things such as cheese, eggs and ham were finished and we complaint like others but they didn't do anything about it. We certainly recommend the hotel but maybe without breakfast!

A good hotel in a big city...away from the center

The hotel has a Four Star rating but it's divided in old and new sections with huge differences between rooms and quality of accommodations. The breakfast was better than average for Italy but does not meet a 4 star rating. The hotel has a great restaurant in a Villa that was originally on the site...the food was great and service excellent. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Friendly staff and a perfect base for exploring...

Friendly, helpful staff and a perfect base for exploring Umbria. Our room was cleaned every day, shower was nice and powerful, air con worked perfectly. 25 min walk or ride the bus to town centre, very easy and beautiful journey but mostly up hill. Other than the lift not going down to the ground floor during the entire week, an uneventful and peaceful hotel - would definitely stay again.

It was delightful: wonderful views, excellent service and proximity to the ancient heart of Perugia. The only downside was that breakfast, which was served till 10.30am, was unsatisfactory if you came down from 9.30 onwards as vital elements of it, such as fruit and cereal, were not replaced as they ran out.

I think they have two types of room. the one that you may see on the photos and it is located on one side of the hotel. Our room was very outdated. with very dirty and uncomfortable bathroom. the air conditioner is working but you only hear the small noises. the mattress is very old which transformed from its original shape during these years. Finally the internet is working only in lobby

Nice breakfast, good wifi, very polite staff, windows that open, air conditioning, loved it. Very comfortable. It's a little far away from the sights though. It's about a 20 min walk to where all the stuff is, which is not too bad, except that a lot of it is uphill. Still, I would stay there again, especially for the price.

Convenient stay for a short visit to Perugia

Very nice business oriented hotel, if traveling by car the hotel is very conveniently located just five minutes from the main down town area where parking is available. There is also a bus route near the Hotel. The view from the hotel room was very pleasant and the Pool terrace has an astonishing view, although it was not open during my stay in mid June. The breakfast was quite pleasant and better than the average Italian Hotel breakfast. The only down mark is that the internet was not working at the time due to \"technical issues\" this was a bit dissapointing considering it is a business type hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, make sure to ask for a room with a view.

The hotel is somewhat quite comfortable and clean, but they falsely advertised having internet for their guests. Their was NO internet, not even in the lobby. They kept blaming a fiber optic issue, despite that their reservation computers were successfully connected to the internet. After a long discussion with the clerk, he admitted that they haven't had internet for their guests since several months. This is not a suitable hotel for business trips.

Lovely hotel

Of the 12 nights we spent in Italy, the 2 in Perugia were the best and the hotel greatly contributed to this. The buffet breakfast (optional) was probably the best food we had in Italy. The staff all spoke passable to good English, the rooms were clean and very comfortable, the view from our room fantastic. I would love to go back here. One small complaint was that we were not able to watch any English-language television the first night (the weather was bad, so we chose to stay in), but by the second night this was sorted out, although the choice of what to watch was still very limited.

Be prepared to use the stairs!

Hotel OK, but the lift to our floor must have been the most poorly programmed lift in the world! It caused a lot of frustration with both us and our fellow guests by not stopping en route from floors above to floors below (and vice versa). Bit of a walk from hotel into Perugia centre - but good exercise!

Ok as a last minute base

We stayed 7 nights, arriving late on the 1st night. The allocated room was very small ad cramped, and the safe did not work. On requesting another room we were given a more spacious room but without any view, The were insufficient clothes hangers.The hotel lift was very erratic and slow. The breakfast was adequate but unappetizing.
A hotel best suited to coach parties of elderly tourists.

Great room, walking distance from the old city. Mid-april and the air-condition did not work. A group of teenagers were staying in the hotel and there was a lot of noise up to 0200 AM so it was either cooling the room with an open window an suffering the noise or the heat. Comfortable, modern and calm

We stayed one night (a Saturday) and spent most of our time at the jazz festival. The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the town centre, but it's worth it to get free onsite parking and an air of tranquility. If you don't fancy the walk, the hotel runs a regular shuttle bus into the centre. This is a low-rise, modern hotel with good-sized rooms. The staff were very friendly, and check-in and check-out were really fast. It was easy to find when approaching Perugia from the East (Assissi direction). There's a rooftop swimming pool and bar. We were very happy with our choice.

Hotel great, but location, location, location...

The Hotel Perusia's big negative is it's location. It's out of the way, and a 10 minute walk, at best, to the main area. While I don't mind the exercise, if you're doing it a couple of times a day,it can be time-consuming. Our room, a triple, was very large and clean. The hotel rooftop, with pool and terrace, gives AMAZING views of the town. There is a complimentry welcome drink, which was nice, and breakfast was one of the better we'd had. The hotel staff were Ok, when spoken to, but didn't go out of their way. They in fact gave us some mis-information about getting to the Chocolate Factory, which cost us some extra time and $. When calling us a cab, with our numerous pieces of luggage which they stored for us, they didn't specify a large cab, and the driver was mad at us for not getting a bigger vehicle. In all, the hotel was great and I would return again.

We read reviews about this hotel before going and really liked the photos of the hotel on Expedia as well as Tripadvisor. Those pictures are not of the hotel, but the restaurant that belongs to the hotel, across the drive.
We booked a family room and was pleasantly surprised to get 2 rooms, a double and a single with an interconnecting door. We left this door open between us and our daughter. The rooms were pleasant and quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly.
We drove past the hotel twice before we found it.
The breakfast was okay, the hot food was not too great, but there was a good choice.
The views from the restaurant are lovely.

Near the city center, convenient for car travelers

There is a mix-up between the Hotel and this website about the inclusion of breakfast. The 'economy' room does not include breakfast, while the standard room includes it. Hotels.com shows breakfast is included with both. The hotel stood behind what we saw on the website, which was gracious of them. The hotel is in good condition, though the bed had a bit of a sag in it. Good location, well marked and easy to find. Would stay here again.

A decent 4-star hotel, but distant from centre

Was looking for a hotel in Perugia near public transport & convenient for trips to nearby towns too. Spent a long frustrating time on Expedia trying to figure out the locations of the hotels listed, with all of them inexplicably described as being near the same basilicas & the airport, amidst several hotels in the entire province. As the only apparently central hotel was sold out, this was the one settled on.
The hotel could do with providing directions to travellers arriving by public transport. From the main railway station, Stazione Fontivegge, take one of the city bus lines A, C, D, or P, (ticket 1.50 euros) & get off at Ospedale di SM della Misericordia or piazza Monteluce. Walk the final 40 metres up to the hotel. Or, from the city centre/bus station, it is a 15-20 min walk to the hotel. Pick up a map from the very helpful tourist office, just off the main square, in piazza Matteoti.
This is a good modern 4-star hotel, if the distant location does not bother you. There is a fabulous view of the Umbrian countryside from the roof terrace. The single room was comfortable. The breakfast was great, with a good variety of hot & cold food, making it a welcome change from the usual cold continental fare. Coffee & tea are on tap, so you can get as many refills as you like, without bothering the unfriendly waitress. I was not informed at check-in that the minibar was included in the price, so did not avail of its only contents–a small bottle of water, & 2 soft drinks.

The hotel is contemporary and the room spacious. The restaurant, which serves elegant pasta and game dishes, is housed in a beautiful Renaissance villa. The hotel itself was difficult to find and about a twenty minute walk uphill to the center of town. One definitely needs a car to stay here, and good directions as to how to find the hotel.

We enjoyed the hotel, it was like a 20 minute walk to the center of town but enjoyed the walk after indulging in the great food the town has to offer. The room amenities were very modern and we were comfortable except the beds were too stiff and the TV had few satellite channels. The front desk staff were very approachable and helpful, and the breakfast was plentiful.we would stay in here again.

The hotel was general nicely furnished but our room was in need of an update and the fixtures were a little worn. Also I was told the pool would be open and when we went up there were no towels for the sunbeds so we went to reception to ask for some but the lady said the pool was closed and there were no towels, even though we went in September and the weather was about 28 degrees outside! The other staff were helpful though when we ask for directions and gaves us a map.

A real gem!

The hotel was a pleasant surprise! The facility was clean comfortable and in a good location. Within a short drive, we were able to park our car and climb the steps into the center of Perugia. The rooftop pool had spectacular views which allowed us to relax and feel like we were sigthseeing at the same time! We enjoyed a simple lunch and beverages while relaxing. The breakfast offered a bounty of choices as well as the perfect setting for our morning meal.
I highly recommend this hotel!

We loved this hotel!

The Hotel Perusia was the best hotel we stayed in during our travel in Italy. The double room was so nicely designed that we never felt crowded. The walk to the arch was easy. It was easy to get around the neighborhood. Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant food and service was excellent! The pool was a lovely extra with a great view from the roof. We've already recommended this hotel to friends. My only complaint was that the mini bar wasn't cold but because of the convenient location, it didn't really matter.

Hotel in Perugia center

We can recommend the hotel as we enjoyed the stay for the one night very much. The hotel staff was very friendly, the room clean and quite, the breakfast plenty and very good, and, finally, the pedestrian area of the old-town area of Perugia is an easy and short walk away.

Nice little hotel near Perugia's centro storico

Good value. Nearly perfect. Nice roof-top restaurant. Excellent breakfast buffet (included). Due to apparent miscommunication with Expedia, we ended up in the old wing of the hotel. We had a quad and a double room. Although unrenovated, these spacious rooms were still reasonably well upkept. Note that there is a low-power US-format electricity outlet in the bathroom which could prove very useful.

Excellent Hotel

My husband and I were in Italy 26 days and stayed at several hotels. Hotel Perusia was one of the best. The room was very large. We were on the 4th floor and had an incredible view of Perugia. The bathroom was also very large. The staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent. We were concerned that the hotel was too far from the historic city center but it was an easy 10 minute walk. We ate dinner in the hotel's restaurant and the food and service were excellent. We would definitely stay there again. It was by far one of our best hotels as well as one of the best values. There was also free Internet that was fast. The rooftop pool was great--our only hotel with a pool. Hotel Perusia was excellent in every way. My husband and I are teachers and we both give Hotel Perusia an A+

Goed gelegen tov Perugia. Mogelijkheid met openbaar vervoer Gubio te bezoeken. Personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Engelse goed machtig! Rooftopzwembad te klein en te warm. Te weinig ligbedden en geen schaduw. Ontbijt perfect. Gescheurde gordijnen in kamer. Conclusie totaal geen 4 sterren waard.

Pulizia OK. Gravi carenze riscontrate invece a proposito della TV, non funzionante per inadeguatezza tecnologica, e il servizio internet presente solo nella lobby.
Inoltre il ristorante di un certo livello pubblicizzato in quanto convenzionato con l'hotel e ospitato in una palazzina storica di fronte al Perusia, era chiuso da ...anni! Un problema, perche' in zona non ci sono altre strutture di ristorazione decenti!

Το μόνο καλό ήταν το φιλικό προσωπικό. το πρωινό ελάχιστο, δεν υπάρχει εστιατόριο, ούτε bar να παραγγείλεις το βράδυ ένα ποτό να χαλαρώσεις και το πιο σημαντικό 4 ημέρες χωρίς wifi. σε όλο το ξενοδοχείο δεν είχε wifi κι εγώ έπρεπε να δουλεύω από το laptop 2 με 3 ωρες.
Με άριστα το 10 θα του έδινα 3
2 για το ευγενικό προσωπικό και 1 για τους χώρους. Τίποτα άλλο
