My stay at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka was truly memorable. The staff were outstanding—friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. With many from international backgrounds, communication was easy even for guests who don’t speak fluent Japanese. Reception staff were especially warm and attentive, making every interaction smooth and pleasant.
The hotel’s location is excellent. Being directly connected to Canal City Shopping Mall makes shopping, dining, and entertainment effortless. Within a 10-minute walk, you can explore Kushida Shrine, one of Fukuoka’s most historic shrines, and the Hakata Machiya Folk Museum, a beautifully preserved traditional house showcasing local life and craftsmanship.
In short, Grand Hyatt Fukuoka offers world-class hospitality, convenience, and cultural charm. The staff’s kindness and professionalism made my stay unforgettable, and the location ensured everything I needed was close at hand. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Fukuoka.

The lounge near the fountain has friendly staff and great desserts with coffee and tea just to relax for the night listening to piano and solo singer who are both amazing. Their Spa is something to check out too! Very clean and friendly staff. I will go here again. Highly recommend.

all located inside the hotel.
Friendly & helpful staff

Nice Hotel - Great Location

Grand Hyatt Fukuoka is a very nice hotel, it sit in between Hakata Station and Tenjin. Every night the street food vans start up about 5pm and they are just across the road. I that isn't your thing, there are plenty of Ramen restaurants in close proximity to the hotel. There are a number shrines and temples within walking distance. If you need good tourist information head down to the tourist information office at Tenjin, they have plenty of maps and sightseeing brochures. The hotel is adjacent to Canal City Shopping Centre.

Great Japanese-style spa facilities equipped with lounge, large community-style hot bath, sauna, cold plunge, and steam room. Fitness room was pretty good for Japanese hotels with treadmills, bike machines, weight machines, and dumbbells.

This was a great place to be centrally located for a family trip in Kyushu province. I would happily go back. The hotel is right next to Canal City Mall which is full of great shops and restaurants. Across the street on the other side is the food stalls and night food scene of Fukuoka. It's clean and the hotel staff are kind and very helpful. Overall, it made for a great vacation.

The property is attached to a mall which caters for tax free shopping which is great. Also those who are card collectors there was a shop a few hundred meters on the river from the hotel. There is a water show each day the doesn’t finish until 10pm so it not a place to stay if you want quiet.

Hotel was very comfy, quite and in a great location. Staff were very helpful. Yes, there was a large pool but setup for laps only. Breakfast buffet had fair variety and quality but overall would not try again. Hotel bar had a good atmosphere for having a drink and cigar.

I rated this hotel excellent as the room is large and equipped with Dyson equipment and also coffee maker. The staff is polite and helpful and even the cleaning ladies are well mannered. The only thing that I do not like is that the room is not bright enough though all the light is turned on.

The exterior of the hotel reminds me of 2000s architecture, the rooms are very dated, some wall paper can be seen peeling slightly. The layout, room's ameneties are all dated. Rooms are definitely spacious and service is excellent. Its directly attached to Canal City Mall which is convenient. If you're an older business traveller and remember when the name Hyatt carries a prestige, then book this, else, might be better to look for something more modern.

One of the best 5 star hotels I’ve stayed at! I was greeted at the door and then told to sit and wait for available staff to help check us in even though there were 2 people opened for the aid. I watched someone else come in after us go up to them and asked to be checked in. I don’t know why I was sat down.

Regardless, the hotel itself was spacious, clean, and conveniently attached to a mall so we did not have to go far to shop and eat. There was also a water show in the mall, which was cool. I only stayed 1 night so I can’t say too much about it, but this place was a good stop for us. Especially with our large luggage.

Finding the hotel was a little confusing as the pathway leading to the hotel is a sharp turn from the train station exit. We walked a little further up and didn’t realize that. We turned around and saw the building from the other side and just tried following it instead.

Honestly, it was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Get a ClubRoom. It comes with breakfast, food throughout the day, access to they gym, and access to a simply amazing gym. It's also really centrally located, across the street from Nakasu island, next to Canal City, and around the corner from a really convenient metro station. The people are lovely.

Overall, my wife and I had a great stay. The service staff was mostly very friendly, the location is great, connection to the Canal City mall is convenient, excellent breakfast buffet, large rooms, and the amenities were the pros for us. The only negatives were at check in - our initial room smelled of cigarette smoke, and there were stains on the headboard and mould along the grout in the shower. We requested another room and the smell was better but there was still mould in the bathroom. The third room we requested was better and we could see that a staff member had cleaned the grout areas. I wish the grout could just be cleaned in all the rooms without having to ask. Two of the staff members helping us during check in ignored my wife when she followed up about the room, which we thought was rude, but the staff member showing us to our rooms was very helpful and friendly. Other than the hiccups at check in, all the service staff were wonderful and we had a positive stay.

One of the best hotels we ever stayed in. Great location, super service by the excellent staff, especially the concierge team. They took extra care of my family by helping to fulfill all our requests. Arranged private transportation and tour for us. They were always with a smile and very friendly. The rooms were big and spacious and equipped with all the top quality amenities. Club lounge served a wide range of food with dedicated staff in attendance. We couldn’t ask for more. After paying so much for this property it is anything but Grand. They claim there is only central heating system hence no air conditioning in the rooms but the basement bar where I drank wine every afternoon was cold. Although outside temperature is 8-12c the temperature inside the hotel room was 22-23. They told us to open the window for air to come in and turn on the stand fan in the room.

The room was clean and well-kept but a bit small. The airconditioning wasn’t working so it was warm inside the room. We had to ask housekeeping to open the windows to let the cool air in (it was around 1 - 5 degrees C outside). Good thing too, was that there was a Dyson fan in the room to make it a bit cooler.

Overpriced for the condition of the rooms. Our room smelled very bad, and hotel overall was not that great.
Personnel was helpful though, cannot say anything bad about employees. Attentive, kind, helpful. But will not stay there again.

Amazing room. So much space for any hotel especially a Japanese hotel. Beautiful room. The bathroom was outstanding. 5 star bathroom very luxurious. Pool is amazing and the spa, onsen was incredible. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely small plate of fruit put in our room each day and was greeted with a birthday slice on arrival. So thoughtful.
Great location at canal city and close to everywhere you may want to go. The subway and bus system allows east access and subway stop by hotel.
Highly recommend Fukuoka Grand Hyatt.
