The room was a little bit old and small, but other than that everything was nice. The breakfast was really good and worth paying extra for. Just have to wake up early for it is all as it ends at 9:30am. Staff were overall pleasant and polite and somewhat flexible. The second day I was so tired I came to the breakfast around 9:10. They still let me use my breakfast voucher so I tried to eat quickly so as to not cause them too much trouble. I did get told the food area was closed when i got up to get more water after 9:30. So best to probably stick to the schedule and finish eating and drinking by 9:30 to avoid awkwardness with the staff. They were still friendly and polite though. They just like to stick to their schedules I think, which is fair as they did clearly indicate it ends at 9:30am. Checkout was pretty easy. I just handed my card to the staff. They also had a box to put cards in I think but to be safe I handed mine directly to the staff and they were ok with that. Air conditioning worked in the room, and heating. They don’t wash the sheets unless we specifically ask for that by placing a card on the bed. They do automatically give fresh towels though which was nice. Toiletries are available to self service in the lobby. A little additional perk was they offer some bath salt and fragrance packets to have a relaxing bath which was nice on a cold day.

Front desk service was good and check in/out was processed efficiently. We shipped 2 baggages prior to our arrival and the retrieval during our check in was easy. Room was clean but just like many Japanese hotels, it was small. The washroom was a little outdated but serves the purpose. One day there was note left in my room that the housekeeper dropped my laptop during the cleaning. Fortunately my laptop wasnt damaged but I appreciated the honesty and the handling. The manager came to speak to us on the day we checked out to apologize and reassured I could reach out if the laptop stops working the next couple days. That really ahows their care for their customers.

The entire hotel had a terrible and unbearable smell with the air conditioning barley working, walking into the bathroom it stunk like dead fish and the floor of the room was foul. Dont recommended whatsoever only good thing was the included breakfast in the morning.

Hotel was only a five minute walk from the station. Area was nice and quiet. Hotel was clean and amenities near the front desk. Room was good for two, but a little small, more like a boutique room. The bed was a little hard but I dealt with it. Only stayed in the room to sleep.

Family friendly hotel

We had a lovely stay at this hotel for six nights. The staff were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. We stayed with our 4 year old and had breakfast every morning. There was a wide selection of asian food which was delicious but not much in terms of western food. Although it is a 10-15 minutes walk to the train station, it is only a 7 minute walk to Canal City where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. There are two 7 11 outside the hotel which is great for anything you forget to bring with you. Would stay again next time we go Fukuoka.

Convenient and clean hotel

The hotel is only 15 minutes walk to Umeda Station, if you need to catch the early moring flight, you better catch the limousine bus, it's only 10 minutes walk to the bus depot. Very handy location, a lot of restaurant around the hotel, definitely stay here again next time.

The hotel is new and clean, centrally located but a little far away from Umeda station which takes around 10 mins walk for this, and quite hard to walk if need to take lots of luggage you.

This is a nice BUSINESS hotel. It's new and clean, but sooo SMALL. Since I stayed with my family, I wished our room could've had more room. But again, it was clean, and nice enough.

The breakfast was good enough. Not fancy, but good selections.

The location was much better than I had thought. It's very close to the Umeda downtown, starbucks, and othe coffee houses. There are at least two convenience stores nearby: Family Mart & Seven Eleven (two minute walk).

Hotel is walking distance from Osaka Station. The room is very clean but quite small. We had 2 suit cases & could barely move around the room. The staff spoke very little english however they were keen to help.

Overall it was a pleasant stay.

We will stay here again with smaller luggages in the future :)

Great location, friendly staff, decent breakfast

Rooms are a bit small but I suspect that's pretty much expected in Japan. Nevertheless it has all the required amenities and toiletries. Breakfast has both Japanese and Western selections but it was a bit repetitive with pretty much the same choices day after day.
The location was fantastic: across the street from the airport limousine stop, 2 min walk from the subway station, and close to the Osaka train station which was very convenient especially if you want to travel to places like Kyoto. There are a lot of great restaurants and fantastic shopping around the area but the hotel is in a quiet street so it offers the best of both worlds.
I thought the hotel was great value for money and would definitely stay there again.

A two night stay on a side trip from Tokyo. The standard room is small but perfectly adequate if you are travelling light. The room has a fabulous aircon unit which makes it comfortable in all seasons. The hotel is modern, clean and the staff friendly and helpful. It's an easy walk from Umeda centre

Great location!

Stayed here for 4 nights on the last leg of our Japan Trip. Had a great stay. The area immediately around the hotel was very nice. Upscale hotels and shops nearby that had very beautiful night ambiance too!
The room was a nice size and the tv and fridge worked great! We had the buffet breakfast one morning and liked the selection though it took a little bit of time for things to be replaced once emptied.
I really recommend this hotel. Though it is a five minute walk to the nearest train/subway station we really enjoyed staying here while sightseeing in and around Osaka!

Great location: Walking distance to subway, just no elevator with the exit closest to the hotel. 7-11 and Family Mart are nearby. Free wifi and breakfast provided. It's really a semi-double bed. Hotel only provide one access card. Overall stay is good.

Hotel near to Nakatsu Subway Station.

This hotel is very close to Nakatsu Subway Station (about 3-5 minutes on foot) and about 20 minutes walk to Hankyu Umeda Station and 30 minutes to JR Osaka station. Hotel is look okay on the outside but on the inside are old. Breakfast at the restaurant was so so. Hotel has a coin laundromat facilities are available and can have a view of Osaka city from the window that is in the room when staying at a high floor. Portable room air purifier available in room. Unfortunately, We can clearly see the dust under the TV shelf and so others in the room. Therefore, cleanness of the room can be considered terrible.

My girlfriend and I stayed here on our first night in Japan. We just needed a place to stay before heading West to Kyoto. The hotel is in a great location, not far from all the attractions of Tokyo. There are plenty of restaurants and shops around the area and it's only a 5 minute walk from the station. The room was perfect for the two of us. It's small to Western standards but more than enough for our needs. The staff spoke English and were friendly. Also, we really appreciated having wifi in the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for accommodation in Tokyo.

Good location but really outdated amenities

I needed to find a room at the last minute, so glad to find the availability here.
The hotel is right outside of the Kyoto Train Station, the location is perfect.
The staff is very pro, like everywhere in Japan.
However the hotel is quite old and has not been renovated for quite a while. In other countries it can probably be considered as a good choice, but compared to the other hotels that had in japan, at the same price range, it is rather disappointing.

This hotel was adequate for one night but it would have to be one of the smallest hotel rooms I've ever been in. Almost not enough room for two people, definitely not enough room when we had both our bags open. Apart from this, the staff were OK, it was clean and we didn't really get to experience much of the hotel as we weren't there too long, just for a stop over. I recommend exactly that, you wouldn't want to spend much more than 1 night in that small room as a couple.

Although the hotel was clean, it was a bit further than we had expected. The walk to the train wasn't bad but took at least 10 minutes daily. It was rainy the day we arrived and the directions to the hotel were not very clear - was a challenge to find it, in the rain, dragging our luggage around. The staff was also not very friendly so our stay felt a little cold and uninviting.

The hotel is a 5 min walk to both the Nakatsu subway line and the Umeda/Osaka Station. Great location but still quiet. Rooms were spacious by Japanese standards. Surrounded by convenience stores and many affordable eateries. Do get the buffet breakfast option as its hard to find a decent sit down breakfast in Osaka. The selection is adequate with both Japanese and Western sections. I stayed 7 nights and the food is rotated so we only the same thing twice.

Great location, only two minutes walk from the closest subway station. Absolutely clean and tidy hotel and room. Had room with twin beds. Room is small in western standard but average in Japanese standard. Bed was comfortable but pillow was a bit hard to my liking. Shower was excellent with sufficient pressure and hot water, with brand name shower gel and shampoo etc. Japanese-style buffet breakfast was fantastic. There were western breakfast food as well but didn't try. Cable internet in room was super fast and free. Wifi internet at breakfast was fast too. Staff at reception speak English. Check-in and check-out were efficient. Only drawback of this hotel is lack of restaurants around the building but there is a convenient store which we bought takeaway dinners.

Brand new; professional service

We liked our stay at this Hotel. It's a 10 minute walk (with luggage) from where the airport limousine dropped us. By walking through the streets (not the subway) and with a little bit of direction from the police (\"go straight ahead\"), we easily located it. The area is surprisingly quiet and serene; a catholic church stands beside the hotel. The frontdesk always made sure that at least one staff who could speak English was around. I was ready to find a very cramped room. But this was not actually the case. Sure, the room had no clothes cabinet (it had a small coat repository) and we lived off our luggage parked at our tiny \"hallway\"; despite this, we still had some space to move around in. Compared to the hotel we stayed in at Tokyo where we were always bumping at each other, Hearton managed it limited space very well and we did not feel bothered by this at all. The hotel is spanking new and everything looked so sleek and fresh. I liked the bathroom because it was modern, spotless, and spacious. I just wished that this hotel (as well as other hotels we stayed at in Japan) provided English translations in their remote for the airconditioners and humidifiers. Just seeing me approach with a remote in hand, the frontdesk already knew my concern and very gladly taught me what to do. By the way, wifi doesn’t reach the rooms. Overall, for the price we paid, our Hearton experience was definitely a bargain!

The hotel meets expectations in terms of size, cleanliness and service for the price it charges. It is suitablefor people who are using Osaka for a few days as a base to visit the Kansai region. It is within walking distance from the centrally located Umeda subway station and the Osaka JR station and there are plenty of eateries to choose from. The receptionists generally can speak English and if you can't find one, then try a Mandarin-speaking one. The hotel can up its customer-friendly quotient by providing free internet access whereas it now charges 100 yen for 10 minutes use.

Great room on a budget with a good breakfast

As many of the reviewers have already mentioned, these rooms are very small. However, you can't really expect to get a big room considering the price and the location. The hotel is very close to Umeda station and many shopping, restaurant and bar areas. Also noteworthy is that the do NOT have wireless in the rooms. They have wired internet and also have wireless in the public areas though. Finally, the included breakfast was very good and worth paying for especially since it was all you can eat.

New & Clean & Tidy & Good Service

The hotel was open in 2010 , so it is very new . The staff know a little bit English , communication is easier for foreigner and their services is good . The room is clean and tidy , also not small ( 2 big laggages can be widely open on the floor for packing ) .

a good budget hotel

Hotel Kitaumeda appears like a relatively new hotel - the rooms are small like most Japanese hotels, so don't expect any luxury but it's a great budget hotel not far from Osaka Station. By not far, it's about a 20 minute walk but there's a shortcut that takes you through a bunch of restaurant and shops under two or three covered streets which makes the walk enjoyable. There is also another metro line nearby, within a 10 minute walk. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel if 1) you plan to be in and out of Osaka quite a bit and need to be near the Osaka Station; 2) you're on a budget and looking for a clean hotel to stay for a few nights. Also note that there are a few Hearton in the area and this is not the closest Hearton to Osaka Station but this one is in better conditions.

Convenient, clean, friendly

Very quiet, clean room. The location is great, near many restaurants, and an easy walk to Umeda station. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. The mattress on the bed was not great, but but wasn't bad either, and I slept fine. I was just spoiled by some of the other beds I had while in Japan. A good place to stay if you're sightseeing in Osaka.

Clean, affordable - Hearton Hotel Kitaumeda

A newly built hotel located in the Umeda district. A 10 min walk to the Umeda train/subway station and it's shops such as the huge electronics store, Yodobashi. 15/20 min subway ride to Osaka Aquarium and surrounding shopping areas. Short subway ride to Osaka Castle area. Hotel was clean and staff were always greeting us whenever we came by reception. The hotel room was a little more spacious than our stay at Tokyo's Sunroute Shinjuku, but that is to be expected considering it's Tokyo and Osaka is a smaller city. The room was found to be in a clean condition, something to which we had been accustomed to in Japan. It was fairly reasonably priced. Family Mart and 7/11 convenience stores were a short stroll from the hotel. It seemed like a lot of businessmen used it and friends/partners on holiday. A recommended hotel for staying in Osaka. Buffet breakfast was included in our stay which was a great way to start the day.

Convenient, helpful staff and affordable

The staff were very friendly and there was always someone at reception who was fluent in English. The location is good as it is next to a subway station and only a 5 minute walk to the main Osaka train station. Good food options are available at the hotel and nearby.

A very short walk from the hotel to Nakatsu station & hop onto the midosujisen line will get you to various places like Nanba, Shinsaibashi & Umeda. For the benefits of those who would like to attend Mass whenever possible to fit into their itineary, there is a Catholic church just beside the hotel which is very convenient.
