Great for overnight stay before flight

Single girl overnighting in Japan. Picked this hotel since it was close to the bus line that goes back and forth to HND airport AND had ¥100 stores, 24 hr Don Quijote, Uniqlo, McDonald's, etc. near by. Catch bus that goes to KAMATA STATION. ¥300. Check in was quick but they will need to photocopy ur passport. Check out is 11am but you can pay extra ¥1,100 per hr up to 2 hrs longer. I opted for a bigger bed cause I am accustomed to American size rooms and beds. It is still tiny- like a cruise ship room. Wifi works- but u will need to get code on tv. TV channels all in Japanese. A/C works great!! Happy hour self help refreshments available by front desk. Need to insert key chain in order for electricity to work in room. Pre-paid extra for breakfast-$5 I think - It is Japanese style buffet - miso soup, rice, salad, toast, mentaiko, sausage, tofu, noodles in soup...they will hold your luggage if you need to check out. 2 elevators , self help amenities- no thrills - just enough for overnight stay before flight. Water pressure in shower/ tub great. There are mom and pop bars around area but it's safe.

Booked a double room, but the 1.5 bed was barely big enough. Room was too small for a single adult. When I told reception, they just laughed, so I was stuck in the 'kids' room. The one star it does get is for the breakfast. Otherwise avoid this place.

Great value near Kamata station

I had a good stay. The staff tried to be helpful but their limited language ability made things difficult. The room was a little old but very clean. The bed was comfortable. Overall the room was rather large by Japanese standards, although it was not laid out optimally, at least there was room for some luggage storage.

This property was tiny and dirty. The walls were dirty there was mold all over the bathroom, if it was a surface in the room it wasn’t clean. They also charged us extra when we arrived for there being two of us when the room we booked said it was for two people.

Hotel staff couldn’t even make dinner reservations for us. Washer and dryer were small but didn’t even wash our clothes well at all. AC turns off when you leave the room so it gets hot until your ac cools the room. Advertising was misleading saying small double bed w it’s picture of two beds. Instead we had to share a twin size bed between me my husband and toddler. Would not stay here again.

We arrived at our hotel and it was close to the station and easy to find. When we were in our room, it immediately smelled like smoke. It was hot, humid and the room smelled to bad. Everything else was perfect but this ruined our stay.

If u don’t want to be like a refugee waiting for an early flight, try this inexpensive hotel near the Katama Train Station. Lots of place to eat nearby and shop. The taxi cost abt $30US for an early flight at 4:15am.. very convenient!

Nice hotel close (2-3 minute walk) to Kamata Station. Haneda Airport is about 8-11 minutes away by train from Keikyu-Kamata Station, which is an easy 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Facilities are clean and staff can communicate in English.

One downside is its proximity to the station makes the train departure melodies audible if your room window is open.

The main entrance is on a street that looks more like an alley. Inside is alright, though the room is tiny (single). Took me a minute to realize I had to insert the keychain into the wall near the door to get power, as that was not explained while checking in.

Second time staying here.
Note this is a posting as a single traveller.

Nothing has changed from last time.
Room was spotless, service was excellent, & the staff really friendly & more than willing to help.

This room is small and I do mean small. But it had everything I needed.
Bed, desk, mini fridge, bathroom, & a small cubby to hang a few shirts up.
The bed is firm but I prefer a firm bed. Two types of pillows there as well.
Hard & medium.

My trip does not consist of the hotel, it's Japan.
The room has everything that you need to enjoy your travels & bathroom amenities.

FYI...you do have to leave your key at the front desk, when you go out, & they'll give you the key back, when you come back. (no biggy)
Less likely of you losing your hotel key.
Decent place to stay for a decent price.

Affordable and a great location

I've stayed here a few times and always enjoyed it.

It's a two minute walk from Kamata Station (East Exit, I believe), and about 10 minutes from Keikyu-Kamata Station (which goes direct to/from Haneda). Hotel is located on a small side-street (turn left at the first street light you come to when walking away from the station).

Hotel staff are friendly and speak English well. They will also store your luggage if you drop it off before check-in time.

Rooms are quite spacious by Japanese standards, and the bathrooms are well-stocked with amenities. The hotel has two buildings, both of which are well-maintained and modern. The air-conditioning units look to be newer models.

Lots of bakeries, restaurants and shops in the area.

Convenient hotel close to Haneda

This hotel turned out to be perfect for what I needed. I was only in Japan for 2 days and wanted to spend it in Tokyo, not my hotel room. For that reason, the just-the-basics layout was enough to keep me comfortable, but I wasn't tempted to pass the time in my room. Only 3 minutes from the Kamata station and I found out while there that there is also a bus that will take you to the airport for 280 yen. Friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely go back!

Great hotel for travelers on a budget

We had a great time here. The hotel was clean, in a good area right next to the train station and several restaurants. The hotel also had washers and dryers to use so you can wash your clothes at night after you come back. The 711 down the street had an ATM machine that accepts foreign cards. They also had a breakfast buffet that was really good, although this is extra and was a little pricey. The staff were very friendly and helpful but didn't always speak good English.

Ya, it's considered a three star but for me, it was at least a four.
If you want a hotel room that's spacious, then forget it.
Space in Japan is a commodity. If you're on vacation & just using it for what you want the room for, is just for a place to sleep & clean up, then it's perfect. Also if it's just for a quick overnight stay, then I thinks it's fine as well.
Front desk staff friendly & polite. Knowledge of the English language in my opinion, pretty good as well.
FYI, I was travelling alone.
Now, for the room. It's small. No bones about it. But everything you need, pretty much.
Bed, desk, small fridge, hot plate, TV, phone, & bathroom.
If you want to hang anything up, forget it. No closet.
Wi-fi signal is strong, room was clean but the bed was firm. I prefer a firm bed. So just a warning for others.
As for the pillows. You have one fairly soft pillow & the second, what others would consider as rock hard.
Bathroom is small but functional. The hotel provides all the amenities. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash soap, face soap, razor, toothbrush & paste, comb/ brush, & even q-tips.
There's a small bar fridge to put a few drinks or anything relatively small to keep cool.

It just has the basics for what I needed. My vacation is Japan, not the hotel room.
The service, I thought was very good. The rooms, very clean. I had a bed to sleep & a bathroom to clean up.
Plenty of food shops around and a decent little pub across from the hotel, if you want a drink. Enjoy

Was a little disappointed with the Deluxe Room (that we paid extra for) didn't have a cupboard for our cloths. Only had 3 hooks on the wall. It would be good for a 1 - 2 night stay but we were there for 14 days and found we couldn't hang everything up and were living out of our suitcases. Couldn't get any English speaking TV channels, nor were there any pay TV channels available. The WiFi, bathroom and small fridge were excellent.

Location is great, close to JR Kamata station. Many reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance. The only negative was the unfriendly staff, they never smile. When I checked in they gave no explanation as to how the key worked to turn on power in the room so I had to go back to the front desk. She just said she forgot, no apology.
Easy access to Haneda airport via shuttle bus ( 25-min.)

Ok hotel only if you want to rest for a few hours.

We took the subway from Haneda airport. It tooks about 10 walking. But the hotel is only 3 walking to the JR line, which is the train. We could get anywhere in just minutes. Good location. A lot of shopping around and sushi restaurants. There is a bakery next to the JR line. It is Good for breakfast. We did not have breakfast at the hotel because we thought it was expensive. $ 10 each. It was a buffet. The food looked ok.
The staff is friendly. They speak a little english. But it was ok.
The room are very small. But ok if you just want to rest for a few hours. Too much smoke smell. The bathroom had a pipi smell too.
There are 2 computers and a printer. We did our flight check in and we printed our boarding passes. We did not pay for that.
In general, we would come back because of the hotel location & price.

Friendly staff, allowed us to drop our luggage off in the morning and return when check in opened. Once we arrived back luggage was already in room waiting.

Ideally sitted 5 minutes from JR Kamata station and 10 from Keikyu-Kamata station, good place for a one night stand or staying close enough to Haneda airport (15 min by train). I started there exactly for this purpose as a friend was arriving around 7am at this same airport and myself flying back home few weeks later also from there. I happened to have a big suitcase unneeded for my trip and they accepted to keep it between my two reservations (nearly 1 month apart from each other), very nice and convenient. The shower wasn't great though, too hot or too cold, half way was frustratingly hard to find in my room. Overall, I recommend.

Small room, but they graciously offered to keep my massive ski bag downstairs so I didn't have to clutter the room more than I needed to. I stay at these small budget \"business hotels\" every time I come to Tokyo because I really like them. I usually stay at Toyoko Inn (which includes FREE breakfast; this place was $10) but they were full, so I stayed here. The problem with this hotel is the staff. I was staying with a group of friends and we had the entire floor rented out, but halfway through the stay I was told to leave the room and go to another floor because the toilet was broken and overflowing. The problem was, the toilet was working perfectly fine and was not overflowing. I tried explaining this to them but they wouldn't budge, and I ended up on a different floor. This was a problem because I was the tour guide for the rest of my friends, and the only one who spoke Japanese, so it was inconvenient to lose the ease of having all our doors open when answering questions and planning our day. Anyway, they moved us to a room that smelled awful. (The smell of moldy wet hair in the drain was coming from the bathroom.) I tried to ask to be moved to a different room, at least, but they simply said they would \"clean the room.\" This didn't help anything because it's not that the room itself was dirty, but at that point I gave up and tried to spend the rest of my week in peace ignoring it.
This area of Tokyo was filled with lots of restaurants and things to do so I'm definitely staying in Kamata whenever I come back to Tokyo, but I highly recommend staying at Toyoko Inn instead for better staff and better value.

I stayed in this hotel for six nights (5 nights in early August and 1 night in late August while coming back from Tunisia for a 4-week travel). The hotel's location was excellent, less than 5 minute walk from Kamata JR Station and 15 minute walk from Keikyu Kamata Station. Kamata was a very convenient location to travel downtown Tokyo and Yokohama. It's only 10-minute subway ride away from Haneda Airport. But the hotel itself was just okay. The room was too small and the bathroom was extremely tiny. Given the low price of about $70 a night, however, it was not so bad. Hotel staff were polite and efficient and the room was super clean.

Ideal cheapo hotel after a long flight to Haneda

Just landed in Haneda? Passed the international date line, or otherwise screwed up from flying for 12 hours or whatever? Don't want to travel for ages?

Your best option is probably to get a room at this hotel, which is cheap(ish), has a small but acceptable room, and is close enough to Haneda while still being in an actual bit of Tokyo that you feel like you've actually gone somewhere. Face facts, all you want to do is get in, experience some culture shock, eat something and pass out, and you can do that in Kamata. It's good for one night, my non-smoking room still smelled pretty icky but in a \"this was smoked in A LOT years and years ago and we just can't get it out\" sort of way, just use the Febreze stuff that's in the room and you'll be fine for the price.

There's a nice wee hob you can make tea on (only matcha provided, fyi) and your first proper Japanese toilet experience of the trip. Basically: IT'S FINE!

Great Location from Haneda Airport

It takes only a few minutes to get to the nearest station when you use Keikyu trains. It costs you less than 300 yen, or 2.5 dollars as of June 2015. The train runs every ten minutes or so; thus a recommendation for the service instead of the shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel.

When you get to the central Tokyo, it takes you 25 to 30 minutes of train ride, and you don't have to make a transfer when you want to get to Tokyo Central Station, Akihabara, which is renowned for gigantic electronic department stores such as Yodobashi Camera, or Kanda, where there is a second-hand bookshop street.

Besides from the convenience in terms of transportation, the Kamata district itself worths exploring; there are from popular \"Bikkuri Steakhouse\" to a black-water hot spring, two mammoth department stores attached to the JR Kamata station, which is a stone's throw from the hotel, dozens of coffee shops etc.

The hotel itself is also a reasonably-priced, and offers all the necessary service for a hotel. You wouldn't expect a great view from it, but the breakfast buffet and lunch vikings are all great. You can even taste smoked salmon in the morning!

Stayed for one night during a recent trip. Front desk staff is courteous and polite; it seems most can get by in English if necessary.

The location is quite good, being just a 2 minute walk from Kamata Station. Getting to Haneda is pretty straightforward as it is a 10-minute walk to Keikyu-Kamata station. There is also a \"shuttle bus\" 30 seconds from the hotel that goes to Haneda, however, it's just a regular city bus. Schedules are provided at the hotel.

The room was a standard Japanese business hotel size, but didn't feel cramped. The bathroom was also a bit larger than I had expected based on other business hotels I had stayed at

There are many cafe and restaurant options within 2 minutes walking of the hotel.

Nice stay for medium budget travellers

This was our second stay at the same hotel. We stayed for three nights, arriving after midnight from Haneda Airport. It was around 12:30am, and we were glad that trains and airport shuttles were still available. The hotel has a convenient location and there are plenty of connecting options to and from the airport. However, it would take around 40 minutes to get to downtown Shinjuku and Ginja areas. We still decided to stay in the Kamata area because hotels are cheaper.

Check-in was not much a hassle. Staff was acting politely and could speak basic English. We had been allocated a non-smoking room per our special request made earlier. However, the hotel did look a bit more shabby than when we visited roughly two years ago, though it is still in a good condition. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Full toilet amenities had been provided. The bathroom salt was of good quality. On the other hand, there were signs of dust in some hidden corners near the window edges and table legs. Maintenance should have taken better care of those. Nevertheless, it is still considered very clean, very much a standard Japanese hotel room.

Free WiFi was available and the speed was good. The hotel provides breakfast at a cost, and there are also many other choices near the hotel. Convenience stores are nearby. All in all, this hotel is of good quality and will suit medium budget travellers. We will consider staying for the third time.

It's a pretty decent hotel, if you don't small space and old condition. But come on, you got what you paid. The supper close distance to kamata jr station is a big plus.

Affordable and Convenient

Arrived at 11am to leave my baggage, was told that my room was ready. Room is cosy and small, but it is common for single rooms in Japan. Hotel staff were friendly and know english. Vending machines were available at the 1st floor. Surrounding area is peaceful and quiet. Less then 5min walk to Kamata station, JR Kehin Tohoku Line travels direct to Tokyo (Shinkansen station), Shinagawa (Shinkansen Station) and Akihabara. Overall is a good stay. Will book here again for the next trip.

Great staff!

The hotel staff was wonderful. The location is very close to the station for the line in to Tokyo. There are a ton of places to eat, shop and be entertained. My room was a smoking room, so can't speak ok the cleanliness of the room, though it was very clean for a smoking room. The bathroom however was perfectly cleaned every day by the cleaning staff. The standard room I stayed in was bigger than a few Japanese rooms I've had, so I'm not sure what people are talking about. The room had a unit bathroom with a bidet, stard fair. This was a great hotel, with a wonderful staff that were very proffesional. I do not speak any Japanese, and dis not have any problems. I will be staying here again on future visits.

A good budget hotel

We stayed at this hotel because we were arriving into Haneda airport quite late (with children) and It was about 15-20 min taxi ride there from Haneda.
In the morning we caught a train to Tokyo Station directly from Kamata Station. The station was only about 5 min walk (carrying suitcases) from the hotel so is in a convenient location once you get there, but the hotel is in a small side street so may be a little hard to find.
The room is very small but adequate if you are just planning on sleeping there.

Great location close to the Train

Overall a great experience. Communication with the staff had no problems. I arrived before the check in time and they were able to store my luggage for me while I explored the city. When I arrived back, check in was fast and my luggage was waiting for me in the room. Very nice touch.

I found the room size to be expected from photos and other reviews. If you've been to a cruise, expect a room of that size of no nonsense efficient use of space. Right down to a built in hot plate for tea or hot water in the table.

Everything I needed and more was provided. Rooms were clean, although a bit dated (eg. AM/FM radio built into headboard). Very quiet throughout my stay of 5 nights and wifi (free) was surprisingly strong and fast.

Check out took about 30 seconds and I was on my way to the airport.

Great hotel a short walk from a shopping complex

This was a great place to stay I managed to find it after a while its actually about 4 mins walk from the East exit of JR Kamata station instead I took the West Exit and was walking around for 2 hrs like a headless chicken since my data allowance was out and google maps was a no go. Generally speaking the staff seemed friendly enough and my stay was pleasant enough.

I was searching for a hotel that wasn't expensive and that provided individual rooms with their own private bathrooms and this place was perfect it was cheap and served its purpose quite well. The cleaning lady also did a good job when I left in the morning I would come back in the late evening and the room was spotless, I cannot comment on breakfast or the food they serve there since I almost always ate out.

Overall I would definitely consider staying again.

Not somewhere I would stay again

Stay was not very good, the bed was ok but had to deal with a strong 'egg' sewage smell from the bathroom that would seep into the rest of the small room, even the extractor fan on constantly did not clear it. I was glad to get out of there.

Small but comfortable.

Being from the US, we are accustomed to much larger hotel rooms. The room was aprox 120 sq feet. No room to walk in or place to put luggage. Bed was small but comfortable. If you are willing to put up with little space, or don't care, the hotel will suite your needs well. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is very close to Kamata Station, and there were plenty of small restaurants and shops.

Affordable Clean Hotel Near Kamata Train Staion

It was hard for me to find. Make sure to use Google Maps to navigate your way. I walked from Kamata Train Station. After a frustrating navigation trial and error, I found a wifi hotspot and used Google Maps to navigate my way closer to Grand Park Hotel. Once at the nearest crossroads, I asked a nice Japanese man at a nearby cafe where it was. Once there, I was very pleased with the Japanese hospitality of the staff, cleanliness of the hotel, etc. They even offered me a cart to carry my cumbersome luggage :). The room was a bit small, but that's the norm in Japan. Amenities were great - Ironing Board and Iron, Refrigerator, HDTV, Burner Plate to heat tea, radio, hot water, A/C, and modern Japanese toilet. Bottom-line, it was clean, modern, and worth the money I paid. You will enjoy it too - just make sure to recon your route beforehand.

Nice, affordable hotel next to JR station

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel for my first trip to Tokyo. The hotel is located at the end of the JR line trains within Tokyo's city limit. It is not difficult to get to the major attractions. The location is a bit more quiet. So, for people who wants to spend less, this is a good option.

The hotel is just a minute of walking from the JR Kamata station. So, it is really easy to get to if you come from Haneda Airport. It will be a bit more walk if you take the Keikyu Line since the station would be Keikyukamata.

Also, the area appears to have a few prostitutes on the street. Most of them appears to only deal with locals though.
