Its an alright hotel, it's a bit outdated, and the room was fine but nothing special. The listing also says it's in the center of town, and it is about a twenty-minute walk or a mile from Paradiso.

The room was very \"okay\". In need of updating and some deep clean. The wallpaper was peeling and there were some bad glue jobs that were kind of creepy. Looked like some sort of bug had been glued into the base board. View was nice from our room.

Worst part of the two night stay was when we went to check out the front desk person (Richard or Richardo) said we had to settle up a couple things like breakfast and the city tax. I told him we didn't have the breakfast as we never get it as we rarely eat breakfast. He said, \"well ...how about the second day????\" I said, \"No....we did not have the breakfast!\" With this he said, \"Well someone said they saw you eating breakfast.\" I said firmly, \"we did not have breakfast!\" Thinking back the reality of this is I hardly think someone said, \"When that Canadian couple check out I bet they will say they didn't have breakfast!!!!\" Is this just a ploy to call people out that may have stolen breakfast. In retrospect I should have demanded to speak to the manager and ask for compensation for this act!!

All in all not impressed at all with the hotel and would not return. Room was priced high for what it was. 18 CHF for parking that was easy

I think it's the best value for money in Lugano, trains nearbyby are frequent but quieter than US. Bed was hard and I would suggest bringing your own pillow. Staff were ecellent and friendly and the breakfast was limited but fairly priced. It's a difficult uphill, upstair walk from the lake so be in shape.

Timeless summer spot

Perfect location in Lugano. The hotel is definitely a bit dated and aged, but in that nice summer holiday family vibe, not bad at all. Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms could definitely benefit from a few more little amenities like extra pillows, a safe, etc.

We reported that our air conditioner was not working. The air conditioner in the adjoining room that we rented WAS working. The property manager tried to tell us that they don't turn on the air conditioning until June. We did not believe that statement for one minute. The hallways were cool. Our second room was cool. When we spoke to the front desk initially, they said someone would look at it. Noone ever did. Then the manager tries to give us a speech about how we are all helping the environment. Nope. We paid for air conditioning. Also, our mini fridge was not working. The one in our second room was working. We reported it and were told that that is how it is. Our bottles of water would be served at room temperature. So, it really wasn't a fridge, but a storage unit. Nope! Also, this property is advertised as having ceiling fans. We didn't see or feel a single one. Misadvertised!

The check-in was lacking clarity which locked U.S. out after getting robbed at the train station at midnight. They don’t answer the emergency line they offer. The walls are power thin and house keeping talks across the halls while cleaning. Make sure you take the door code everywhere, they will lock you out. The place is very safe and we were grateful for the locals. They stop responding to what’s app (their offering for communication) once you are checked in. Would not turn to this hotel, but would rewritten to this city.

Very dated decor and basic furnishings. Room was cramped and the walls were very thin. Had a room with a connecting door and could hear everything in the adjoining room. Difficult to get a good night’s sleep and do any work in the morning.

Location is okay but not particularly scenic for Lugano. Staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming.

Lugano is expensive but at over 200 CHF a night this felt very overpriced.

Pleasant but a bit dated.

Stayed for two one-night stays as part of a road trip, different rooms each time. Pros: the interconnecting rooms for a family are very convenient and the beds are comfortable. Cons: the hotel feels strikingly dated in terms of decor and amenities. We could not use European adaptors as they would not fit; there are no USB charging points in the rooms.The breakfast is ok but not a huge selling point, and we found it overall a bit soulless though it is convenient to be able to eat there in the evening as it is a distance from the centre of Lugano. For the money I felt it did not offer great value; however it was a cheaper option in the location so perhaps I am expecting too much. None of the reviews mentioned the train line behind the property! Not a deal breaker but hat means frequent and quite noticeable noise. Staff generally pleasant and helpful; a good pit-stop overall

One night in Lugano

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Delfino. We had a twin room with a balcony with a city view. The beds were very comfortable, and the air conditioner worked well.

Our favorite part of our stay was the breakfast. The hotel offered an extensive breakfast buffet, and there are quite a few tables indoors and around the pool area. The pool itself is very nice, with a shower off to the side. Pool towels are available at reception. You can also get free bus passes at reception. The lake is a couple of blocks away, with easy access to the walkway that runs along the lakeside.

A good, classic looking hotel, with great service. Breakfast varied and rooms spacious. Had a lake view room which was very comfortable. Big bed (two singles pushed together, with memory foam king size top layer and pillows). Nespresso machine and complementary pods was a nice touch. As were the bottles of water in the fridge. A/C was in the room, but the control unit was missing. This was not an issue for me personally.
Restaurant had a good variety of dishes and bar well stocked. Staff were very friendly too. Wifi performance was reasonable in the room and throughout the hotel, which is obviously a must for business trips.

Overall, I would rate this hotel 8/10.

Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating during the length of our stay. Our room was very clean on arrival and had a lovely view of the lake, The breakfast had plenty of choice with something to please the whole family. We choose the hotel for the bike facilities and we were very impressed with the separate bike lock up room and the bike washing and maintenance area. The pool temperature was perfect for a dip after a day cycling up hills!

Tiny room with no AC remote - we were told it’s due to corona.... we couldn’t open the windows as mosquitoes would eat us alive... tiniest bathroom on earth with shower impossibility to use as if you tried to use shower get installed on a wall you switched the dial into hot water - my husband burnt himself...
very nice service though! Very nice people at the reception and bar and restaurant.
It was a last minute booking where all other nicer places were booked already due to public holiday, we will not stay there again

The hotel was good for 1 night, interior was very \"eighties\", but be prepared for that in this part of the world. The restaurant had a 3 course menu (2 course if you would skip dessert or starter), quality was fine, opening hours of the restaurant between 7PM and 8.30PM. Kinda awkward, but the bar was open until late that night. Location is beautiful, with a nice view over Lake Lugano (partly). Internet was basically not working. Summarising, I had a nice sleep, a few beers at the pool at night, a meal that did the trick and some breakfast in the morning. Nothing excellent, nothing bad. Closing statement, staff was very friendly!!!

We were only in Lugano for one night but this was definitely a great choice for the hotel - the room was so spacious for three people and our room even had a tiny bit of a view of the lake. The staff was so accommodating and helpful. There was a really nice set up by the pool with tables and a great view - we didn't get to enjoy that as much as we would have liked, because of timing, but it was very pretty. They also had a nice breakfast set up that we were able to take advantage of.

Loved the outdoor pool

This hotel is one of the few I found in the mid price range in Lugano that has an outdoor pool and I really loved it because the weather was very warm and after walking around the sites all day it was great to go for a swim to cool off. The hotel restaurant has tables around the pool and it was lovely place to have drinks and dinner. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. The manager came around and chatted to everyone at their table in their own language which was a nice touch. The receptionists were very helpful with tourism info. The room was small as are most rooms in switzerland but it had a little balcony with chairs which was a nice bonus.

The room was large by European standards and included hot water pot with coffee & tea. The desk staff was helpful and efficient. The hotel is located only a few minutes walk from a local train that goes to the main Zurich rail station. Breakfast was ok. The main negative was that the desk won't provide a wake up call and the wake up function on the phone did not work. The desk offered to send a technician, but we didn't want to wait around the room for who knows how long until the tech person came. The shuttle to the airport was handy and on time.

Hip and clean skybox overlooking Lake Lugano!

Modern Sky box overlooking Lake Lugano. The minute this weary traveler walked in the door, I was given a warm welcome by Christina and Federico. Despite morning arrival, I was given my room early which was clean and very hip, with a nice view of the lake. After a glorious hot shower and nap later, I ventured out on the snowy night across the street to the a very expensive hotel, and had very reasonable glass of wine. (Stay at Delfino, drink at Paix) then easy taxi into central part of Lugano, where I had a wonderful dinner, and easy taxi back. Also right near easy bus stop (buses v. efficient). Next morning had elegant breakfast (included) with fine coffee and steamed milk in little silver tea pots, by sweet bowing waiter. I could have stayed all day in breakfast room. I can't wait to go back!

Charming little hotel

Have a wonderful stay in this little hotel. Room size is spacious (as a single room with double bed) in European standard with a little balcony overlooking a little bit of the lake.

Breakfast (included in the room rate) is served in the restaurant in buffet setting with a variety of chooses (cheese, cold cut, boiled egg, bread, fresh fruit salad, etc.) and the restaurant also serves lunch and dinner with good service!

Though the hotel is not located within Lugano city centre it is still reachable by 20 min walk or bus #2 with bus station right outside the hotel (bus #2 passing the Lugano train station before arriving at the city centre). The hotel is located in the Paradiso area where funicular station to Mount San Salvatore is within 10 min walk from the hotel. Also there are 2 supermarkets within 5 min walk from the hotel.

Lastly, there IS free wifi within the hotel and staff are very friendly and helpful at the reception! I always asked for their advice every morning on where to visit for the day and they always gave me detailed explanation and of cos with the help of shelves of travel leaflet right in front of the reception!

Definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Lugano and the Ticino region!

Just one thing dont get off at the paradiso train station as its a long and confusing walk and a pain when you have luggage. You can take the bus from the main lugano station. The bus drops you within 10metres of the hotel.

This hotel was undergoing remodeling when we stayed, so it was very loud during the day. Also, because of this the elevator wasn't working, so they gave us an upgrade to a lakeview suite, we just had to lug our bags up 3 flights of stairs. The room was large though out of date, but it was comfortable. The view was great. Breakfast was okay, thought I would have liked more fresh fruit options.

Lugano is very expensive and as we required three rooms to attend a family celebration the Delfino was perfect. Although away from the centre it is easily accessible. There is a bus stop outside the hotel, St. Brigitta and the area is Paradiso. You need to purchase a ticket at the stop before catching the bus - 2 francs or euros. It is a pleasant walk into the centre but maybe a climb back. The hotel was perfect for a family. We were all on one floor with rooms looking onto the lake and the Mountains. Breakfast was perfectly adequate and included in the price. The weather was good and it was nice to get back to the hotel for drinks around the pool before continuing the celebrations. If in Lugano again we would definitely stay here again. The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel very clean.

Lage ist top, sehr zentral.

leider auch bei heissen temperaturen bleibt die bar und das restaurant zu. keine getränke, nix.
und dies am pool, wo alle tische und stühle bereitstehen,
argument der receptionistin: einsparung beim personal. die bar für getränke und snacks sei nur im monat august offen!
